Good discussion Sotiris. I think if I came across a website with 1000 comments, and all comments were 5 🌟, it would give me cause to pause. Like you were discussing, if someone were having computer issues, in the comments is usually where you would find that unhappiness. Thank you again for sharing Sotiris! I agree with the masses...delete if personal, keep if it is general discomfort.😊
Yay Us Indeed!! 🌟

Yes indeed Liz, all perfect comments would definitely look a bit suspect. That's for sure :-)

I don't delete negative comments unless they are personal. My responses to negative comments are meant mostly for the other readers to show that I am willing to address issues raised. Ultimately, it is an opportunity to build trust with readers.

I agree 100% That's another reason I let comments through. I always found it crazy people get insanely picky on what's 'good enough'. Comments aren't your blog content that needs to be good. Even crap comments have worth. They prove people are engaging with the post, they build trust, let you know some of your visitors, etc. And most people on the internet are going to be writing one line compliments or something equally short. It's authentic and real and not every comment is going to be worthwhile in terms of content. But they're still valuable as your readers!!:)

Hi Sotiris,
A lot of ignorant people out there.
As long as it is not personal.
Constructive criticism is ok.
Dont give them to much oxygen.
Regards Shane.

Personally, unless the comment is spam, I don't delete comments. I welcome other people's opinions, even negative or stupid ones. I don't like trying to censor people's opinions. That said, I will delete profanity laced comments that are totally inappropriate as spam. Otherwise, even jerks get 'aww, thank you' because they just proved to Google my article is worth commenting on.:)

Yeah, I guess letting the negative people rank you up on Google is definitely a bonus :-)

We have to determine what is negative. If the feedback was right but in my interest, I may consider leaving it, make the necessary changes, and send an updated reply that I have made the changes, and thank them again for pointing that out to me. That is just one incident to look at. Some I do delete them. Thanks!
