3 - Google vs. Baidu

Baidu is the most popular search engine among the Chinese and often referred to as the Chinese version of Google. It has invested heavily in improving its search engine and quality of search results for users.

If your website is new and you want to have it listed on Baidu, it would take you much longer than it would with Google. One of the reasons this happens is that the search engine performs thorough scrutiny of your website to ensure it complies with the Chinese content rules.

While for freshly updated contents, it doesn't take the search engine much longer to recognize any changes. In fact, Baidu beats Google in recognizing such changes and endorsing them in your site's ranking.

For backlinks, Baidu gives almost equal precedence to both the quality and quantity of backlinks. And content priority is given to other content types such as videos, images, and music.

Conclusion

Most often, whenever a search engine is being discussed, the reference is made to Google, even though there are dozens of other well-performing search engines in the online world.

Google owns the highest market share for online search, coupled with its faster results and wide reach potential. But as a webmaster or online business owner, you need to have some SEO knowledge of other popular search engines.

That's why this tutorial was created to provide you with working details that you could use

Thank you for this insight,

Every time I think of how Google has positioned it self with quality. My honest heart desire is that I need to position my self and my business with quality content.

This is the only metrics that will not change and will stand the test of time

Wow, what a wonderful goal, Ayodeji! I could remember the period 1996-1998 when I created my first Gmail! Google was just coming up gradually, though hadn't yet taken over the ranking of sites in full prior to 1998 that it actually did. No one (including Sergey Brin, Larry Page) ever knew that Google would go this far by 2020, but actually saw it happen as a result of dishing out quality at all times. So, you are good to go with your goal.

I knew that Bing and Yahoo were hand in hand, so to speak, but I didn't know the differences you brought out.

Personally I use Google OR Duck Duck Go.
