Communication's Role

Communication builds our self-confidence. The way we are communicated with and the way we communicate. If we learn to communicate negatively, that becomes what we know and how we communicate with others.

Remember the spiral? What we receive, we give.

Well, developing and nurturing a positive commuication spiral will strengthen your self-confidence and help you achieve greater success.

Body Language

It is said that over 70% of what we communicate is done non-verbally. This may be just as true for the way that we communicate with ourselves and the impact of our messages.

For example, when you are working online:

  • Is your posture closed or open?
  • Are you slouching?
  • Are you tensed or relaxed and inviting?
  • Do you smile when you are writing your blogs?
  • Is you energy low-key or are you upbeat?

Believe it or not but your confidence can be "seen" and "felt" in your writing.

So, on the days when you do not feel confident and you write, your feedback may not be as engaging and encouraging as you would like. This will affect your self-confidence.

It is best that when this happens, you take a break and start with your self-connection. Take a few deep breaths and try to understand my you are not feeling confident.

What is impacting on your mood?

Talk a walk, do some stretches, breathe in deeply a few times, straighten your spine, put a smile on your face and jump right back in!

I'm use to ask so many peoples a question about the "Top and riches peoples in the USA." Most of the peoples said that "Bill Gates" is the only one. An Old man asked me "Kid" Do you wants to be riches like Bill Gates? I said yes!

My question to "Mr. Bill Gates" Is that I only have $1,000 on me, but I really need $50K by the end of this month! What can I do to make $50K?

Hey I'd listen to Tony Robbins and his practical approach to compound interest, it is not the How but the Why in my opinion. I am Lula by the way hope you are having a terrific day.

Am so glad I read this. Amazing how the timing was so apropo...
I never liked doing those exercises in from of the mirror, I never liked the way I felt when having to see myself. Interesting, even now, after reading those prompts, I realized how much I was hiding from myself. There's a lot more to the reasons behind that, but suffice it to say, now I understand what I needed to do to make it this far in life.

Six years ago, I emerged my true self and have traveled quite the journey. Now its time to face the mirror and, quote, 'Make that change ("Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson.).

Rudy, for some reason, you have brought tears to my eyes.
Your sharing is so touching and hits home.

With such honesty, you are well on your way to strengthening your self-confidence and influence others.

It is only ourselves that we have to live with to the end - like it or not.
I prefer to like it. 🙂

Thank you so very much for sharing.

Hi Cassie. Self confidence is something that can be natural or be earned rather than learnt. Many of those who you have highlighted were risk takers with no real idea of what was successful they just hoped it would be. I know what my limits are and having the knowledge of my limits gives me my confidence.

This is a perspective that I agree with, Dave.
When we take risks and are resilient enough to manage the consequences - good or bad - that further strengthen our confidence.

Thank you so much for taking the time.

Interesting idea about confidence on line. I actually dress for work on my site! Not a tie any more but smart casual with decent shoes, it puts me into a business frame of mind to treat it seriously. Im not sure if my writing style on line subsequently appears confident but I hope so!

Have a great day!

I do the exact same thing, Trevor.
Whether I am having video meetings or not.
Once I am working, I am dressed for work, thankfully without the offline suit and tie. 🤦‍♀️

Business casual is the dress code now.
