Most of you know how to do this, just in case you do not, here is a quick explanation.

Make sure you have the image you want on your computer.

Go to your dashboard and choose Media from the left hand side of your page

Look at the top of the page for ADD NEW and CLICK

You should see this page:

CLICK on CHOOSE FILE

BROWSE for your file and CLICK on OPEN and UPLOAD the image

Now you see your image in a small box

Thanks tons! If you don't mind sharing, where can I go to find nice quality large photos? I have used wikimedia commons for larger images but would like another option as well.

To resize a picture on an image to image basis (leaving main image as original size), there is another way to do this. Make changes straight into WP Text editor, and change the width and height attributes making sure you maintain the ratio.

i.e. you have an image and want to halve its size.
Locate the <img />

and change -> width: 400; height: 150;
to -> width: 200; height: 75;

You can keep changing until its right for you! Just thought I'd chip in.

Thanks for the info Rob, it is great and works well. I wrote this mostly for codeaphobics. I have overcome this affliction, but many have not and all those funny symbols are scary to them. If you know where to look, the way you suggest is much simpler and definitely faster! I think most will get there eventually, but for now I am trying to cater to how I felt when I first started. Please do not hold back though. Many a bit more advanced people can learn from your answer!
