I am creating this tutorial as I saw that a fellow member was struggling to find a way to remove dates from her posts and was going down a complicated way of doing this by changing the code of her website.

Removing the date from your posts does not require changing code. It is a very simple process and you can also change your mind, if you so wish, at a later date.

Why do I need to Remove Dates from My Posts?

The simple answer is you don't but many of us wish to do so. It is all about the readers experience and their perception of what they are reading. Let's say you have a post that is a couple of years or even months old. The reader may perceive the information as out of date or past its sell by date so to speak. If you have written a post only a couple of hours ago and the reader has not been to your site before, they may perceive that you are a newbie and not an authority on the subject.

None of the above is true but removing the dates from posts allows for no false perception on the part of the reader. Most seasoned internet marketers do not have dates on their site.

How do I remove The Dates from My Posts?

Go to your website back office.

  1. Click on Settings from the left hand column.
  2. Click on General settings
  3. Scroll down to Date format and you will see this.

4. Click on Custom and empty the details in white box
5. Scroll down to Time format
6. Click on Custom and empty the details in white box.
7. Click Save Changes
8. Now you will have no dates or times shown on any of your posts or pages.

Note you will see the original date and time when editing your posts. It is only the reader who will not see them.

I hope you have found this training simple and easy to use. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Please remember to click like if you have found this training useful.

Hi, it seems this is not real date removal. Please check how your post looks in incognito search. This is how a reader will see the post.

I have removed the date but they appear in incognito mode. I did this several months ago so this is not the matter of cache or anything similar. It would be good to hear what you see.

Just tried this with my site in incognito mode and no date appears at all. Maybe it’s a theme thing ?

Very strange, but it is good that this is so. Perhaps cache. Thank you.

Hi Karen, very nice, I didn't know that yet, I hope your training will be approved, this is good info, but I know, the requirements of a training needs 4 pages.

I know the training needs four pages but it seemed silly to drag it out over four when for ease of use for readers it could be done on one.
I also have seen lots of advice and training on this which tells people to use code. This is just not needed. If it is unapproved it will just have to be a blog post.
