The first thing you must know is that getting traffic should be the number one thing that you should be focused on and spending your time on. This mainly includes creating great content, which includes finding great images, doing keyword research, and getting comments on your page.
To a lesser extent, it means promoting your website on social media, including on Facebook groups and Google Plus communities. It also includes creating advertisements for paid traffic.
However, for most people, your main source of traffic will be Google, and that is what you should be concentrating on.
