LINKS & A BRIEF HISTORY

CONTINUING ON IN PINTEREST

My Pinterest "hobby" has quickly turned into a way of life, and has become a continual daily habit that I make sure I implement into my day! If you aren't involved in Pinterest yet, now is the time to dive in! Just this past April, major changes in their algorithm took place, improving their whole system!

Before I get into the heart of this training, and instead of repeating information from past posts, I will provide you my links as part of this introduction:

MY PAST PINTEREST LINKS:

FIRST, A BRIEF HISTORY

The Pinterest phenomenon began in December of 2009 and is exactly 9 years old. It began as an open beta site by invitation only while being developed. Contrary to what it was back then, Pinterest now allows businesses of all types to promote products, and it has rapidly become the most sought after marketplace in existence today!

Last year, Pinterest raised $150 million from a group of investors, making it become valued at a whooping $12 billion! With over 200 million active users, over 85% of whom are women, Pinterest traffic is over-the-top viral! Out of all my websites, Ladies Night In has the most traffic, which makes sense reading the statistics on women users.

I am so happy you have decided to follow my training and are looking to excel to the next level of your business with Pinterest! It is a decision of excellence, I can assure you!

Thank you for the outpouring of requests to do this training---and for lighting a match under me!

Awesome, Erin. Simply awesome! This exensive Pinterest and

Tailwind training will help many of us. Before I was blaise about

trying to succeed with Pinterest. Now, I am very encouraged

You have stripped the cob web from my eyes and nt understanding

if pinning, scheduling and trubes is much clearer.

I left some questions below and I will patiently await your response.

Thank you for this excellent training on Pinterest .

Blessings

This is just the information I needed to link my accounts. Thanks so much, Erin! I love Pinterest and use it every day, but didn't know how to use it with WA like I wanted. Now I can. The vision is clear. You're wonderful for sharing so much wisdom! I'm very grateful.

I still don't really understand the purpose of Boards.

I've been creating a new Board for each Blog Post and Pinning 6 Pins (photos) from that Post to it. So I have quite a few Bioards, each with 6 Pins on it.

Presumably, that's not the way to do it? 😱

Why not? What (detrimental) effect will it have?

Boards are a way of organizing pins. For example I have a board for my site. I also have boards inside of that board for various categories (make money, post-processing and so on). I will then place pins in the relevant board (if it's about making money it goes on the make money board). If I have a post that doesn't fit a category I then put that in the main board.

So what's wrong with the way I'm doing it?

Ian

My only concern would be if someone only follows one of your boards instead of a top board and all the sub-boards. Other than that...nothing.

So I could have a Board for my site and all these individual Boards coukd be Boards within the main site Board. Would that work better?

Or is having one Board per Post not necessary? I'd just create lots of Pins (varying numbrs) per Blof Post and stick them all to the one Board. ramdomly, as it would seem to be?

Check out mine for an example of how I did it:

Ah :-) So you have one Board for your site but then four sub-Boards within that. So people can sub to your main Board or to the individual Boards/topics?

Each Board only has a few Pins. Is that enough? Each of my Posts has 6 Pins. So you'd only have 1 Pin per Post?

Ok, need to learn more about this, it's really not making sense :-(

Thansk you for your help and patience.

Yes, it’s not enough yet but I setup my boards like I setup my categories on my site so, as I write more posts for a particular category, those boards will get more pins.

Perfectly explained, Scott! That's how I'm working it, too. Boards with subcategories and related Pins.

You're getting the hang of it, Ian. You're off to a great start! Take Scott's advice. It's all about organization. Once you're organized, as you write articles and create Pins for them, you can add each to the Boards you have set up.

Hey Erin,
This is a platform that I have always wanted to get into but never understood how. I have bookmarked all your training to refer to when I get stuck. I have a niche that I think would appeal more to women. I have tried promoting it but it doesn't seem to be working.

I really need to research your training!!

An awesome decision, Debra! You can go through my Pinterest links above and the ones here, and implement this current training, as well. If you search "Pinterest" above, you will find several others who have posted about it, too. There are some great walk-throughs on the Pinterest site if you get stuck.

Take it slow, get the hang of it, and you will begin to LOVE it!

I am here for you if you have any questions.

It's like going to the mall DCain2, stroll around look at all the nice pictures, type in something in the search, crocheting, dresses, vitamins. Anything that might interest you. Get use to what Pinterest does. Don't worry about jumping in right away until you get more familiar with your surroundings. When you do, you're gonna love it. You don't have to go nowhere fast, until you know where you're going.

All the best
