This training looks at Pinterest the Social Media Network

It is equally a misunderstood platform for many

But you will be pleased to know that it is simple to understand & use

It is commonly called the 4th Major Social Network, after Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and You Tube

Pinterest was started in 2010 by Ben Silberman and has grown rapidly since then.

Thanks, Dave!
Pinterest and YouTube are the only social platforms that interest me. I love the concept of grouping people with same interests, so one can select a community, without getting into FB or Twitter opinions from everywhere.
More focus on a particular audience to me would be simpler, but maybe in the future, I'll try those.
What do I know, anyway?LOL

Thanks, Dave
Very useful information. I have had a Pinterest account for a long time now but I have been holding off using it "properly" until I fully understand the rules and get a handle on the best strategy for posting pins to boards. I understand that Pinterest has some fairly strict rules about how frequently you can pin images to boards and if you break a rule your account will be banned. I've heard of quite a few affiliate marketers stumbling into Pinterest and making that mistake.
Clearly, it is a platform that is very distinct and offers some serious advantages.
Thanks again for illuminating these interesting stats.
Cheers

Hi Dave
How do I put the Pinterest icon on my website so users can link to my Pinterest board directly from my website? Thanks.

Thanks for commenting Nancy. Do you mean the Pin Button?

Hi Dave,
Some people have the pinterest "P" at the top of their pages and when you click on them, it takes you to their pinterest account so you can see all their boards and pins. I'm not sure if that is called the pin button. Thanks.

Pinterest is great and I have to do more there. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn,YouTube and number 4 Pinterest. Haha, the beer is strong today, Dave. Laughing with you, not at you. Don’t hate me…This is what I do all the time. I have fought dyslexia all my life.

Thanks for commenting Stephen. The good thing is you don't actually have to be that active on ANY of the platforms, YouTube apart, because with the Pin button extension and Pretty Links installed you can work from your blog, just react to the email notifications which is what I do.

I do the same, it is a great time saver. The pin button extension, that is. But I also try to interact with others in my market at least a couple of times a week.I am trying to build up followers by offering advice etc. I am not at the stage where I can rely on email responses yet.
