You may all be looking and think Affiliate Marketing has nothing to do with Food and Drink, Home Decor, DIY or holidays and events.

The trick is to weave it in by setting up sub-niche boards. So if you set your main niche board, (Affiliate Marketing), then sub- niche boards. It could go something like this.

Affiliate marketing, (laptop lifestyle), Holidays and events (remote beach and carnivals), Drinks and food. ( smoothies for relaxing on tropical beaches and carnival food ).

There you are. You have included the two of the top five pinned catergories into your niche. I am sure there are plenty here who could weave all five into their niche. 😎

Doing this will offer more value to your followers and as you pin more and add followers this will also increase the click through rate on your site.

Pinning for Engagement

One of the mistakes many people make is not sharing other pins. Your boards can and should contain pins from other pinners. Pinterest is not a hard sell place, It is often described it as a classy department store. It is glossy.

It is a community, and Pinterest intends to keep it that way. It allows affiliate links because it has a very robust anti spam policy.

While it is good that you can create compelling pins, instead of your board being all about you, have a ratio, say for every two pins you post, take a look at other boards in your niche and save three or four of those.

Then watch your followers and engagement increase.

Thank you Michael for the information. The timing of your post is perfect for you, as Pinterest is the lesson I'm at in my OEC training.
