When it comes to Pinterest, I like to say that for me it is a tool for brainstorming. The Pinterest CEO Ben Silbermann summarized the company as a "catalog of ideas," rather than as a social network, that inspires users to "go out and do that thing."
When you first type pinterest.com on your search bar, you will see welcome page, where they ask you if you want to sign up (if you are new) or login (if you already have account). You have three opportunities to chose how to sign up:
1. Sign up with your e-mail (username) and password;
2. Sign up with your Facebook profile (in my case it recognizes my organization Facebook profile because I am signed in with Facebook in another window);
3. Sign up with your Gmail account.
I chose to sign up with my Facebook profile, you can chose what most suits to you.
When I am already signed up, Pinterest asks me for my interests, so it will know what kind of posts and ideas I like, and they will be shown on my Pinterest main page when I enter again. You need to chose at least five interests. I chose those who most suit to the interests of my organization (Poraka Nova is disability organization with included day care centre), so I chose Art, Crafts, Education, etc.
When I chose everything that it suits to me, you will see this on your screen. Don't worry if you miss something, because in any time you can follow different boards and interests.
At the end you press Done.
Congratulations, you've set up your Pinterest account!
We go on the next step.
