We all know Pinterest can be an organic traffic powerhouse, but it can also become a maze of wasted time if you do not have a basic grasp on what will get people saving and re-pinning your content.

Creating authentic pins of your very own as opposed to saving pins is paramount to success on pinterest and also gives you full control of where your content will end up in a search or followers boards.

Head to this address https://developers.pinterest.com/ there should be a little tab at the bottom of the page that says (Save Button) click it then it will take you to another page and show you a tiny piece of Code script and some instruction. If you have a problem just come back here and let me know. I'll do my best to help you get it set tonight.

Hey Ross,
I went over the address given, but that's not what I was speaking about I guess, I will need that as well, but I was speaking about the (p) button that is attached to the other social media buttons they are all on an website like Linkin, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest in a row with their initials in caps, they all are together on an website where you click it and it takes you to the social media you clicked,

I hope this helps for you to understand me.
Thanks,
Cynthia

Ohh yes... Are you using elementor page builder plugin by any chance?

It allows me to build my pages from scratch and quickly but it will give you a social media share button block just like mine.

I just use it for my homepage and some landing pages but it has many functions and wont change the look of you're initial blog.

Hey Ross,
I am not computer savvy most of everything I learn was on here, so I know where plugins are, my template is Hello world, not quite sure if I am using this.

Was just taking a look, its a beautiful blog! You are currently using your Blog posts page as a home page which is good, the "Hello World" page is what we can use to make you a home page like mine, so if you want just go into plugins and "add new" and look for "elementor"

It came up as Elementor page builder so do I download it, after I download it what do I do next?
Reply
Rwstretch Premium
After it is downloaded, head to the "Hello world" page there should be a blue button that says edit with elementor. Click it and it will take you into the page builder. On the left Hand side there will be a task bar with blocks that you can drag and drop to build your page. Find "social Icons" then drag it to where you want to place it on the page. You can add and link just about any social media, and change the colors of the buttons to suit your theme

The Elementor has add new template, and also there are drop down options under it: My template, settings, role manager, tools, system info., getting started, knowledge base and custom fonts,
all this is under Elementor, is this on the back end of the website because I don't see it.

You'll want to go into your pages and just select and bring up the page as if you were going to edit. Right now you are under the elementor plugin options. All in the back end still at the moment.

Oh okay,
You are such a life saver I did drag and drop it outlined a place to drag and drop it only has facebook twitter and google don't see pinterest and after I drag and drop I save it?

Hi Ross
Why when I go back to edit with word press, the icons are not in colors, it is written out Facebook, Twitter, Google and it is red I know that's part of my template
Reply
Rwstretch Premium
You can add a ton more just select add item, it may give you another facebook button by default just click the extra one and select pinterest from the drop-down list.
Reply
Rwstretch Premium
You'll need to save yes, and remember this is the homepage we are building so its technically not set in place yet. We have to go into the word press editor once it's the way you want it and select this page instead of the blog reel page.

All good this will be reltively easy, we need your pinterest URL, should be located at the top of your browser when logged into pinterest and look something like this https://www.pinterest.ca/jordanbelfortincarnate/
if your case it'll be https://www.pinterest.ca/yourusername
Then we will need to copy and paste it in the LINK box under your pinterest social media button tab in elementor located on the left hand side.

Very well put Ross. As soon as you have your pins sorted out, they need to be associated with particular boards preferably niche related for maximum effect!

Agreed Michael!
Definitely the finishing touch on everything. Just like a good stamp collection. Boards having a good description will hit maximum effect.

Ross I have a question I am new to Pinterest so when you say pin is that's when you save another persons image to your board?
Reply
Rwstretch Premium
I refer to pinning and re-pinning as creating your own pins, Ill try to fix my wording in there as well. Best course of action if you are on PC is to save the image to your desktop and create a brand new pin altogether. Sometimes when I go on a spree Ill quickly save pins to a secret board Ive created so I can come back and save the images to my computer as to keep track of what Ive uploaded for the day.

Hi, Ross. When you save somebody elses' pin image to your desktop and create a brand new pin, isn't that seen as copyright infringement?
Reply
Rwstretch Premium
Being a public domain when you upload content to Pinterest you are agreeing to have your images, linked, saved or shared by others. I did a good amount of research on the legalities of it and still have a fair bit.

Now in the case of saving pins from sites directly and uploading them, I would have to say there could be a problem, maybe. But most sites will include a tag that won't allow the pin app to be used when on that particular domain.
