At this stage of the course you should have your website created! Congratulations, this is a big accomplishment!

Looking back to 2002 when I started my career in Online Business it took me 30 days just to figure out how to build a website. There definitely weren't any platforms like the Website platform you have access to here. What takes 30 seconds now, took 30 days back then.

How things have changed!

In this lesson we are going to be walking you through the process of the initial website set-up. This includes the removal of "default" content that is installed with every website as well as a look around of the back office of your website.

Additionally, I am also going to be walking you through the activation of your "Plugins" and be walking you through the benefits of the plugins (feature extensions) that have been installed automatically with your website.

Below is a video walk-through showing you the process of setting up your website. Click play to watch the "Setting Up Your Niche Website - The Initial Steps" video below.

Task 1: Login Into Your Website Back Office

In order to do this, you need to log into your website. This is very easy to do and can be done using the "Log In!" button (as shown below).

This will automatically show you all your users you have associated with your website and from there you can log into your website.

No more need for manual logins and the passwords within your account are encrypted and secured using SiteRubix technology!

You can also find your website login details, username, and password within the Details link on your SiteManager dashboard.

Task 2: Activate and Update Your Plugins

After you login, you will see your Wordpress administration dashboard for your website (see below).

This may look completely foreign to you if you have never logged into a WordPress website before, but don't worry, you will get the hang of this and there is a ton of help here within the community to work you through any questions/issues you may run into.

Wordpress is the most powerful and widely used website platform in the world. It is used by over 30% of ALL websites (millions) and it also has a wide range of "add ons" known as plugins that you can use extend the functionality of your website.

When you install website here at WA we pre-install three of the most useful plugins with your website automatically and your first step is going to be activating these plugins.

You will see the The SEO Framework, which we will be setting up in the next lesson. This is a plugin that is going to help you get found and ranked by search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo.

Also, the Kraken Image Optimization plugin is preinstalled with all websites here. This helps compress and optimize all of the images on your website automatically. This is really sophisticated and advanced platform that is going to lead to better website speed, a better user experience, and better rankings in Google (and other search engines). This is already set-up optimally for you.

Task 3: Delete Default Posts, Pages and Comments

Every new Wordpress website that you install will come with "default" or dummy content that is added with every website install. You want to get rid of this content before you can start creating content that is relevant to your niche.

The first thing you want to do is delete the default post that is added with each website.

Click on the Posts button, within the side menu.

This will take you to the posts page where you will go to see a list of all the posts on your website. A post is simply a content page on your site (we will be explaining them in more detail later).

Simply "mouse over" the post area and it will reveal the post management buttons. You will want to then click the "Trash" button. This will delete the default "Hello World!" post.

Do the same with the "Pages" link as well. There may be a few different Pages, including the Privacy Policy page. You can delete all of these pages as we are going to be starting fresh with our own content and starting the build out process of this in upcoming lessons.

**Do note that there may not be both default Pages and Posts. If that is the case, just move on.

That is it for this lesson, nice work! You now have a live website that is set-up and ready to go. This is your own Internet "real estate". You will use this website to connect with your niche and ultimately earn revenue through. This website is your foundation for building a successful online business!

The next lesson we are going to be showing you how to get your website ready to rank in Google and other search engines!

If you have any questions about the set up of your website, please scroll down and leave them within the comments below.

Hello and thank you for your support. I am here on your lesson 2 because I lost your link for 5 days and then found it again in my trash. I was thinking you were warrioraffiliate. Anyway, I plan to go primium but my question is should I follow lesson 2 if I already have 2 websites promoting different services in my niche?
Cheers.

So glad you found your link again to get in.
To answer your question, are your other two sites follow SEO principles. It would be a good idea to learn what WA teaches about ranking for your site and content.
to make sure your SEO principles are good.

You mention that you already have 2 websites. Did you know that Paid Premium membership includes the hosting of 10 websites without additional charge. Are you existing websites using Wordpress? If they are they could potentially be transferred to WA. Site support can help you with that if necessary.

We wish you much success as you continue on..

Have you chosen your niche yet.
If you need additional niche help, Here it is.

A niche is something you feel super excited to write about, a skill you have attained, something that resonates with you. You will want to be focused on one niche. What is it that you want to help a group of people with or what problem do you want to help them solve (group could be age, gender, location, experience level, degree or type of need, etc.)

A niche is not a product, it's a subject that you can help a target audience with. Remember, you are not setting up a shop (store), you will be writing lots of articles about your niche to help your targeted audience.

The importance of a targeted audience is that It's always better to target a specific niche with a specific solution to problems.

Kyles asks us to complete this statement.
'i want to help ____(group) with ______(problem)'

For example. I like camping and what to help campers buy the right equipment to make their camping experience more pleasant and safe.

Camping is a very broad topic with a lot of competition so to eliminate some competition in the beginning so the website has a chance to grow, the focus needs to be a smaller scope. For example essential camping equipment for beginners. I can talking about camping, my experiences, what I have learned about camping, and how I have found good equipment and what I believe is the best equipment. Once the website is established and has a good volume, its scope can be expanded to include other things camping related. This is just an example.

The key to getting started fast is to narrow your niche down to a specific topic. This way, you will eliminate a lot of competition and get results much faster. Once your site is established and you are getting traffic you can expand your niche scope.

Hi I wanted to start on the affiliate business so that I don't have to deal with what businesses are concerned about i.e inventory, customers, problems. I do have to make a minimum of $3000/mo. What would be the fastest way to set that up while I am working on my foundations?
Reply
jghwebbrand Premium
Yes, affiliate marketing is the easiest way to go: no product inventory, shipping, billing or customer service.

The quickest way to earn a steady monthly income is to complete the training so you know what to do and how to do it. The training gives you the details needed to succeed.

Choose a niche that you are very passionate about, know something about, and know to help people with it. Niche websites that succeed most quickly are those that help people solve problems and learn. You website should be about only one niche.

Expect to spend dedicated time for at least the first 6 months to write content for your chosen niche so your site grows traffic and authority. The training helps you understand how to grow traffic using Search Engine Optimization. (SEO).

Ask questions when you are stuck or confused.

This is not something that happens over night. It takes work and effort, but the rewards are great.

Hi

There isn't a fastest way, it is a process.

First you need choose a focused a niche subject is something you are passionate and genuinely interested in could be a hobby or an interest, and know so well you can write plenty original content about. (content is super important as it takes the longest to get ranked in the search engines provided you have chose searchable targeted keywords)

And so if needing income now, perhaps finding a job by time your site started reaching traction and traffic, down the line authority, conversions and sales.

WA is a learning platform that teaches us how to build a progressive successful site for affiliate marketing. Please follow the training and apply what is taught all is explained within the lessons, ticking checklists at the bottom, tasks asked of you to complete in order to set up properly and guide you through the process.

The question is WHO would be your target audience vs Not what you are selling to an audience.

You need aim for ONE focused niche with a specific group of people, I'd go with what's best resonates with me.

The recommendation is to focus on ONE site starting out as it takes lots of effort and work get it going, however once you know what you are doing, then the learning curve would be less steeper to scale up.

That's a great niche to be in however broad you may want to narrow it down to a subcategory starting out, otherwise you will find it very hard to get noticed by the search engines and to compete with big authority sites. Target audience is important too, who would you be writing to, once you are able to identify them, you are closer to finding a focused niche.

Once a site starts gaining traction, traffic and authority you can then scale to cover another subcategory.

See example blog post below ONE niche, a website. Products and programs can be varied however all must be relevant to the niche.

You may consult with https://answersocrates.com/ for further research into finding a subcategory starting out. You can search what real people are asking as in Questions, Prepositions, Comparisons, in the past, letters and query. It is also great if someone wants to write a thorough research based article.

For example if you are in yoga
Yoga exercises for beginners

When deciding on a niche try narrow it down to a more specific niche, you can ask yourself the following question:

So I want to help people with ____________________ ?

Fill in the blank aand you are going to get closer to a specific audience. Your niche research:-

Questions People are Asking
How to Solutions
Resources Within the Niche
Products You Can Promote/Review
Affiliate Programs
Products
Top Authority Sites/Competitors
Low Competition Keywords
Popular Magazines / Papers / Periodicals
Advertisement Ideas / Headline Ideas

Essentially you are writing more informational posts so that you do not sound so salesy to Google and if there’s a solution, a detailed analysis review post for your visitors to let them make an informed decision whether to go click your links and go purchase the focused item you proposed to solve their issue.

Programs

Promote tab top menu

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/affiliate-programs

Or

You can do a google search
Your niche + affiliate programs
Your niche + affiliate programs + location
and see what results you get

Onward

Your site need be ready before you apply for affiliate programs

You would have written 20 - 30 posts and have some traffic to be able apply for affiliate programs as typically they will check your site for relevance and traffic prior approval.

For Amazon it is 10 - 15 posts. You also would have to make 3 sales in your first 180 days.

Lucrative programs - 40 posts +

Once accepted, they've given you material and special tracking code links you can share on your site.

Essentially you are writing more informational posts so that you do not sound so salesy to Google and if there’s a solution, a detailed analysis review post for your visitors to let them make an informed decision whether to go click your links and go purchase the focused item you proposed to solve their issue.

Once they do, and in accordance with your affiliation terms and conditions, how commission payouts are tracked and paid. You need to read up how payments are made because different programs follow different rules; some pay by check others via PayPal or straight to your check account.

I would always adhere to your affiliate program terms and conditions.

Meanwhile I'd ask as many questions as I want to get clarifications,

Ok, first, before creating my site, I must know how it will start working. Let's say I have found my niche and can begin to promote various products, compare them etc. It cannot mean that I know all of them? Will all my suggestions be based on the information I find online?
Reply
jghwebbrand Premium
Yes, you will not buy or experience all products you promote. The way to learn about them is online using customer reviews (Amazon has a lot and many products, Youtube reviews and blog reviews to name some). Yes after researching content online you will draw your own conclusions.

This is why choosing your niche topic is so important. It takes time to do research and write content. Without passion burnout and boredom can sst in.

The ideal niche topic is one that you are extremely passionate about, Have knowledge and experience with and understand how to help people and their problems related to it. You will be writing your content for people so it is important to identify what group of people you will be writing content for.

Success online is broken down into 4 basic steps. How to Create an Online Business - The 4 Steps It looks like this: Step 1: Choose your niche
Step 2: Build your website/content
Step 3: Get rankings in search engines (leads to traffic)
Step 4: Monetize your traffic (the make money part, through affiliate programs signing up for and adding affiliate links to your posts)

These steps apply to absolutely every niche and as you work through the training here at WA, you are going to be walked through this exact process. This is fundamental for ANY success online.

Hey Diana
One of the best ways to promote a product in your niche is to buy it and then document how you got on with it over the next days or weeks.
That does 2 things:
1) It shows people that you've actually used what you're talking about and not just adapted reviews you've found online.
2) It gives you original information that you and only you can divulge
Consequentially you have gained 'trust' from your visitors (a big plus in Google's eyes) and you have original information to give out - again another big plus in the search engines.

Another option, if you don't want to have the personal touch, is to do a round-up of reviews.
Let's say you decide you want to write a post titled "The Best Food Bowl For An Adult Labrador"
You could research the top 10 websites on the search engines that are already there for that search term and use their outcomes as your material - for a more in-depth look at this read this post by a current WA member - - it's well worth the read time (scroll down to the section titled 'Do You Want An Example').

Whichever way you choose to do it, always, always, always end your post with a call-to-action; ideally a link to the product sales page that is your affiliate link. Never leave your reader with nothing to do because they'll just leave if you do.

I hope that helps

Hi

In a nutshell yes and no.

You may have tried yourself so you know already so well and you believe in the product | solution you are recommend your visitors that should solve their issue.

However not the case, you may have to look up and research what other have wrote about the product | solution; in that case you have to sum up original content written in your own words.

And so essentially you are writing more informational posts so that you do not sound so salesy to Google and if there’s a solution, a detailed analysis review post for your visitors to let them make an informed decision whether to go click your links and go purchase the focused item you proposed to solve their issue.

Also there are so many resources you can search online to find what qualifies best with your niche subject and research.

For example Answers.com, Quora.com, YouTube, AnswerThePublic.com etc.

You may consult with https://answersocrates.com/ for further research into finding a subcategory starting out. You can search what real people are asking as in Questions, Prepositions, Comparisons, in the past, letters and query. It is also great if someone wants to write a thorough research based article.
