At this stage of the course you should have your website created! Congratulations, this is a big accomplishment!

Looking back to 2002 when I started my career in Online Business it took me 30 days just to figure out how to build a website. There definitely weren't any platforms like the Website platform you have access to here. What takes 30 seconds now, took 30 days back then.

How things have changed!

In this lesson we are going to be walking you through the process of the initial website set-up. This includes the removal of "default" content that is installed with every website as well as a look around of the back office of your website.

Additionally, I am also going to be walking you through the activation of your "Plugins" and be walking you through the benefits of the plugins (feature extensions) that have been installed automatically with your website.

Below is a video walk-through showing you the process of setting up your website. Click play to watch the "Setting Up Your Niche Website - The Initial Steps" video below.

Task 1: Login Into Your Website Back Office

In order to do this, you need to log into your website. This is very easy to do and can be done using the "Log In!" button (as shown below).

This will automatically show you all your users you have associated with your website and from there you can log into your website.

No more need for manual logins and the passwords within your account are encrypted and secured using SiteRubix technology!

You can also find your website login details, username, and password within the Details link on your SiteManager dashboard.

Task 2: Activate and Update Your Plugins

After you login, you will see your Wordpress administration dashboard for your website (see below).

This may look completely foreign to you if you have never logged into a WordPress website before, but don't worry, you will get the hang of this and there is a ton of help here within the community to work you through any questions/issues you may run into.

Wordpress is the most powerful and widely used website platform in the world. It is used by over 30% of ALL websites (millions) and it also has a wide range of "add ons" known as plugins that you can use extend the functionality of your website.

When you install website here at WA we pre-install three of the most useful plugins with your website automatically and your first step is going to be activating these plugins.

You will see the The SEO Framework, which we will be setting up in the next lesson. This is a plugin that is going to help you get found and ranked by search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo.

Also, the Kraken Image Optimization plugin is preinstalled with all websites here. This helps compress and optimize all of the images on your website automatically. This is really sophisticated and advanced platform that is going to lead to better website speed, a better user experience, and better rankings in Google (and other search engines). This is already set-up optimally for you.

Task 3: Delete Default Posts, Pages and Comments

Every new Wordpress website that you install will come with "default" or dummy content that is added with every website install. You want to get rid of this content before you can start creating content that is relevant to your niche.

The first thing you want to do is delete the default post that is added with each website.

Click on the Posts button, within the side menu.

This will take you to the posts page where you will go to see a list of all the posts on your website. A post is simply a content page on your site (we will be explaining them in more detail later).

Simply "mouse over" the post area and it will reveal the post management buttons. You will want to then click the "Trash" button. This will delete the default "Hello World!" post.

Do the same with the "Pages" link as well. There may be a few different Pages, including the Privacy Policy page. You can delete all of these pages as we are going to be starting fresh with our own content and starting the build out process of this in upcoming lessons.

**Do note that there may not be both default Pages and Posts. If that is the case, just move on.

That is it for this lesson, nice work! You now have a live website that is set-up and ready to go. This is your own Internet "real estate". You will use this website to connect with your niche and ultimately earn revenue through. This website is your foundation for building a successful online business!

The next lesson we are going to be showing you how to get your website ready to rank in Google and other search engines!

If you have any questions about the set up of your website, please scroll down and leave them within the comments below.

Hi. I think I've got it wrong but I searched for companies running affiliate programs and found about 20 good ones here in South Africa where I live.
1) When my program is up and running should I link up to their program or just add them to my website?
2) Can I find a niche market by clicking on "Pharmacies" as the health care facilities/hospitals here are not always accessible?

When your site has content posts on it and is getting traffic, then you can think about affiliate links. To get affiliate links,, one must sign up to an aff9liate program. Sign up is free, but they program will want to look at your website so make sure it has content on it. No set number of 15 - 20 is good.)

As for your question regarding pharmacies, do you have medical credentials? To grow a website in such a niche without medical credentials, it will not rank well. .

You niche website will be global so anyone in the world can view it.

Hallo everyone,

I saw lessen two and loved how it was explained but what I really want to learn as well is how to rank up your website at any search engine like google for example.

Does any one know what should be done ??

Thank you in advance to all who is reading and who would answer.

Hi - that is precisely what this platform teaches you!

Essentially, you will be writing helpful, informative articles that focus on keywords that people are searching for.

Each individual article you write has a chance of ranking on page 1 of Google. They are ranked individually, not your website as a whole.

Hi Rana,

First of all, welcome to the WA community! :)

As Diane mentions in her comment, you will be learning all of this and more with Wealthy Affiliate.

It's all a step by step process and you just need to follow the lessons/tasks without trying to jump ahead too quickly. It's like baking a cake in the oven, you need to buy the ingredients and follow the recipe step by step; you can't jump ahead and want to eat the cake right after you've mixed the ingredients... they need to be blended together and then baked in the oven for the right amount of time before it is ready to eat.

I know that you can do this, Rana. I look forward to your progress.

Wishing you great success with your online business,

Maria :)

This is the exact purpose of the training. It teaches you step by step how to set up your website and add content and get your content indexed and ranked.

Each training lesson builds on the prior one so it is important to do each one in order.

The way to learn the online process is to complete the Online Entrepreneur Training which is a self-managed program. You can do it at your pace. After you finish each task make sure to check mark the box in front of the task.

It does take time and effort. But it is worth it. We wish you well.

It is a process, it first starts with choosing a focused niche site, onward building relevant content addressing issues in relation to your niche site, getting ready for affiliate programs.

I would write quality succinct content addressing issues in relation to my niche with a good choice of targeted searchable keywords worthy of your visitors attention, onward sharing onto social media platforms for organic outreach.

Settings > general edit title if you want, tagline (just another WordPress site) and save changes.

That's your WordPress sites back office.

Tutorials If you are on mobile, adding one or two characters, then delete you are able to.

If title and tagline (Just another WordPress site), settings > general edit and save changes.

But i am still not out of my problem. i try to explain :

Suppose that my site name is "GOOD FELLOW"
=> Then in my Meta Title appears :
"Good Fellow - Good Fellow - and small description"

So after doing what you adviced me via Settings > General :
i removed there ONCE "Good Fellow" AND i saved it !

If i then go back to SEO, it still says :
"Good Fellow - Good Fellow - and small description"

Yes starters and premium members can click the link but to view a premium plus video they would need to upgrade.
So in effect, it has no value to starters or premium members unless they want to upgrade to plus?
Reply
apache1 Premium Plus
Did you clear your cache and refresh your website after you made the changes?
Reply
TheAbie Premium Plus
There's NO premium or premium plus links in my comment top. All three links can be viewed whole by starters.

Starters can view, you do not need to upgrade to view below links, you try them out and you let me know. They do not have to upgrade to view the links I shared, and they have value.

My apologies Abie first thing I saw was Jay's plus crown and immediately was thinking that was a plus video.

So my bad for that thinking about it is hard to imagine you would have gotten it wrong in the first place.

TheAbie Premium Plus
If you changed it and saved it, and you do not see the change it could be a cache situation.

You may need to empty the browser cache, refresh and try again. Try URL in a different browser or mobile device.

Having done the above kindly let us know if this has cleared your issue and thank you.

I have shared those links a thousand times if not more, to starters.

UPDATE : i did everything you recommended me to do. Clearing cache + cookies and do reboot, but without any result (i work 99% of the time with Google Chrome).

After that i tried all the same things via Firefox browser, but i got the same result.

So now i dont know anymore what the cause could be....

You can remove the "just another...as follows.

To edit and change (Just another WordPress site), go to wordpresss backoffice scroll down left hand side to settings (not SEO) > then general. Edit the meta description (site tagline) and save changes. Refresh the browser CNTL + F5.

i have gone through all this info..... my head is spinning like a wheel now since i am not that tech guy.

Unfortunately i have to tell you that all is still the same. With other words.... In the META TITLE space i still can not add nor delete nor change something. There is still the same text like i mentioned above :

"Good Fellow - Good Fellow - and small description"

i am not sure if this is a problem for SEO that you see my site name TWICE (in this example, only as an example, i used the words GOOD FELLOW as my site name).
This entire description has 65 characters (which is too much as far as i understand).

At the other hand, in the space of META DESCRIPTION i dont have any problem to write/change/delete something. i've already put a text there with exactly 160 characters (coincidence... lol).

But i really dont know how to go from here for that problem with my META TITLE space.

Thanks in advance for those who can come with a solution and for those who put in already many effort to help me

Cheers

i did all this already and there it shows up CORRECTLY.

But when i then go back to SEO in the index on the left, nothing has changed. i can not add or change or delete anything in that space. The text in there stays GREY. It still mentions :

"Good Fellow - Good Fellow - and small description"

Every time that I access the Affiliate Bootcamp Training, it doesn't seem to capture the training I have already accomplished. Why does the training in the Bootcamp keep going back to 21%. I know that I completed the lesson and even clicked the "Completed" button, but it shows that I didn't complete it. Any suggestions?
Reply
jghwebbrand Premium
Have you completed all of he tasks.
A check mark must be placed in the task box in order to move on to the next training lesson.
Reply
VSarmina Premium
Yes - that's what I don't understand. When I go back into the training - and I know I completed the tasks - it shows that I didn't. I know that I did. Like I mentioned before - I even clicked the completed button too.
Reply
jghwebbrand Premium
What about placing a tick mark in each task below the training. Did you do that? If so, then refresh your browser CTRL + F5

Does that do it?.

I need help, please! when I'm setting my SEO meta title, it keeps telling me its too long. mines pretty basic, the only way to shorten it is to remove "the" from my domain name. is there a way to do this? (that would change it to For Love of Gardening and Yard) or possible change "and" to "&"
Reply
jghwebbrand Premium
Your Meta title is under 60 characters. For the Love of Gardening and Yard. Is that the URL of your website? I would not use &.

Are you setting your meta title at wordpress backoffic -> settings (Not SEO) -> general -> site title
