At this stage of the course you should have your website created! Congratulations, this is a big accomplishment!

Looking back to 2002 when I started my career in Online Business it took me 30 days just to figure out how to build a website. There definitely weren't any platforms like SiteRubix out there. What takes 30 seconds now, took 30 days back then.

How things have changed!

In this lesson we are going to be walking you through the process of the initial website set-up. This includes the removal of "default" content that is installed with every website as well as a look around of the back office of your website.

Additionally, I am also going to be walking you through the activation of your "Plugins" and be walking you through the benefits of the plugins (feature extensions) that have been installed automatically with your website.

Below is a video walk-through showing you the process of setting up your website. Click play to watch the video below.

DISCUSS VIDEO: Setting Up Your Website - The Initial Steps

Task 1: Login Into Your Website Back Office

In order to do this, you need to log into your website. This is very easy to do and can be done using the "Log In!" button (as shown below).

This will automatically show you all your users you have associated with your website and from there you can log into your website.

No more need for manual logins and the passwords within your account are encrypted and secured using SiteRubix technology!

You can also find your website login details, username, and password within the Details link on your SiteManager dashboard.

Task 2: Activate and Update Your Plugins

After you login, you will see your Wordpress administration dashboard for your website (see below).

This may look completely foreign to you if you have never logged into a WordPress website before, but don't worry, you will get the hang of this and there is a ton of help here within the community to work you through any questions/issues you may run into.

Wordpress is the most powerful and widely used website platform in the world. It is used by over 30% of ALL websites (millions) and it also has a wide range of "add ons" known as plugins that you can use extend the functionality of your website.

When you install website here at WA we pre-install two of the most useful plugins with your website automatically and your first step is going to be activating these plugins.

To do this you will want to click on the Plugins tab within the menu.

You are going to want to go through and activate the "All in One SEO" and "EWW Image Optimizer" plugins. You can do that by clicking the "Activate" button (as shown below).

Upon clicking Activate, these plugins are now "activated" and ready to go. The All in One SEO plugin will take a little bit of set-up, but this will be discussed in detail in the next lesson.

Task 3: Delete Default Posts, Pages and Comments

Every new Wordpress website that you install will come with "default" or dummy content that is added with every website install. You want to get rid of this content before you can start creating content that is relevant to your niche.

The first thing you want to do is delete the default post that is added with each website.

Click on the Posts button, within the side menu.

This will take you to the posts page where you will go to see a list of all the posts on your website. A post is simply a content page on your site (we will be explaining them in more detail later).

Simply "mouse over" the post area and it will reveal the post management buttons. You will want to then click the "Trash" button. This will delete the default "Hello World!" post.

Do the same with the "Pages" link as well.

**Do note that there may not be both default Pages and Posts. If that is the case, just move on.

That is it for this lesson, nice work! You now have a live website that is set-up and ready to go. This is your own Internet "real estate". You will use this website to connect with your niche and ultimately earn revenue through. This website is your foundation for building a successful online business!

The next lesson we are going to be showing you how to get your website ready to rank in Google and other search engines!

Hi!,
I have a somewhat broad question regarding the niche choosing process.
There's this tool here called Jaax I think, where does it fit in the niche research process? Can it be used for finding a niche for someone who has no idea where to start or does it have to be used to validate a niche idea?
Thanks!

HEllo Zdy and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate.
Jaaxy can actually do A LOT of things for you.

But, to help you choose your niche, not so much. You want to choose a niche as something that you are passionate about.

You will be doing a lot of writing so you want something that you will not get bored with or run out of things to write about.

What about lectures or programming?
I see in your bio that you have knowledge on both of those.

Here is a couple of links that might help you as well. I hope this helps : )
If you need more assistance, please let us know.
Wishing you the best in all you do

Jaaxy is a keyword research tool. Literally speaking is not for testing, evaluating niches, but to perform keyword researches related to a given niche/topic. Which is also helpful when you are trying to evaluate your niche.

For more info on niche selection, see this

Hi!
I added the title and content on All in one SEO plug Inn however when i checked my page source i can't see my title and what i wrote behind.
Apparently there are some people who shares the same 'problem' as me, and would be grateful if anyone can shed light to this.

I have a couple of questions:

1. I posted my privacy policy as a page, but it's still allowing for comments. Did I miss a step in turning that setting off somewhere?

2. As a page, should there be a link for the privacy policy somewhere on my site? The only way I can actually locate it to verify it's there is to search for it in the search box. Is this just something to do with my theme? Or is there a setting I need to change?

Marley2016 Premium
Amber,
In WordPress open your pages and hover over the privacy policy page you will see "Quick Edit" click on this a box will open and
there will be a check beside the comments uncheck the box and the comment section will go away :)

In order for you to see the privacy page on your website, you must add it to the menu go to lesson 8 on Level 1 better yet wait
Kyle will get to it and show you how to add it to the menu :)

Hope this helps :)

Hi guys,
I have two questions: 1. many contents in my posts are gathered from other websites. Should I make any reference to them in some way? 2. how do you guys generate original content? one way I can think of is to actually try the products and review based on my personal experience. Any other way?

many thanks
Reply
smartketeer Premium
1. Yes, you need to give credits.

2. Yes, the review is a common and popular method.

But you can create useful content in many different formats and ways.

See this
Reply
Triblu Premium
Hey Zhoucheng,

1.) You could mention the website in your list of sources at the end of your post. That's what I like doing. You don't even have to make the URL a live link either. Their site will still gain the credit it should without offering your website visitor a means of exiting your website.

2.) The one way you stated, "to actually try the products and review based on my personal experience"... is the ONLY way to do a review that will gain you credibility. Mentioning other's reviews gains you no credit all.

Hope you find this helpful.

you can gather your information from any source, but you MUST write it in your own words. It is best if you gather information from many sources to make sure the content is accurate.
Make sure you mix content, add some of your own points and vary the order. Never just copy someone else's work.
If you quote something then you should always reference the source.
If you do not buy the product, just review the benefits as told by the manufacturer. Sell is as in the third person. Do not pretend, you are likely to get caught up.

Welcome to the WA community.

There are few programs like it and I have tested several legitimate ones. The community is super supportive and the training is some of the best in the industry.

The reason people keep saying, "follow the steps" is because there is no shortage of resources and training available on just about anything Internet Marketing.

Thus, it would be easy to become overwhelmed, especially if you are new to online marketing.

Be consistent and be patient. Reach out if you need help.

Good luck.

I'm very excited to have found WA - which seems like a no-BS site/program to really help someone wrap their head around marketing online.

My goals are to supplement my income while I work/finish college. I would ultimately like to be able to quit the 9-5 and work from home - and basically be my own boss. Motivating people and/or inspiring someone or the masses is my passion and purpose (in my opinion).

Just joined the discussion, as part of the training tasks. The specific task is t comment on at least two people, but I think I'll make this a generic one so as to keep from neglecting any one: Viewing the multiple comments from others, I get the impression that this is a most helpful community. Just as advertised. Therefore, I am still excited (and hope to be even more excited, as I pick up additional learning).

Expect to hear from me, mostly in the form of questions in the beginning, but potentially as a contributor, once I've accumulated some experience to contribute.

I have chosen my niche for now but I have a question. I am currently involved in an online MLM business. I also know my products are available through Amazon. Amazon of course has an affiliate program. While I haven't decided for sure I am thinking of promoting my products through Amazon.

My question is, if I wanted to setup a niche website through Amazon is it possible to include my personal link that I have with my current home based business?
Reply
Definitely very simple for starters but also extremely exciting. This could very well be what I have been looking for to take me to the next level along with my current online business venture. I will definitely be looking at this as something to recommend to many of my new associates involved in my current business venture.

Hi guys,
I talked about Affiliate Marketing with friends today and a question pops up which I thought about sometime ago but did not know: why do visitors want to buy products through my link instead of going to the website like Amazon and search the product? After they read my post, they know the name of the product and can go to the site like Amazon to buy it? Another thing is: will they trust my link? some people may worry that is a hacker link.

Thanks
Reply
JKulk1 Premium
Yes, some people might go straight to Amazon however if you provide lots of relevant good, interesting content, people will want to come back and read more, they will also learn to trust your site and therefore trust your review articles. People are happy to purchase products from people they trust. Jim
Reply
McWord Premium
That's a great question! If you point out that Amazon does offer the product, they are more liable to buy from their. On the other hand, if you've trust with your visitors and you do not mention Amazon as an alternate way of purchasing, they may just buy from you.

All the best,

mitch

Thank you for your answer! Since I haven't got to that stage where people can buy products through my link, it is kind of hard for me to imagine that. hopefully I will get there one day
Reply

Thank you for your answer! One thing is that people can actually know which website sells the products without me mentioning the website when they click or just look at my link like www.amazon.com/xxxxxx... and they can just go to buy the products without my link
Reply

Absolutely right, Mickey! Still, if they purchase using your link, you have developed some trust there. And that's a great beginning!

Best,

@CidecDesigns I understand what you mean. How the whole system works with having websites or blogging/affiliate marketing it takes awhile for you to start ranking in Google and getting a steady stream of income. I help a lot of newb bloggers and that is always their number 1 frustration. Although it isn't a quick fix I started 5 websites in varying and somewhat vague niches that I will produce content for twice a week with low engagement. Its just a process so that in 6-12 months when they start making money and since they have been curated and optimized I should turn an okay profit for no more than it will take.

Hi there - you are quite right - anything worthwhile is worth putting in the effort. You are building a business so that you can sustain a lifestyle and it may take 3 months - it may take 12 months but in the end it will be worth it. There are over 1.5million users on this platform, some in their 80's and they would not all be here if the program was not working - it would have died many many years ago. It is a credit to Kyle and Carson that they put so much time effort and energy into producing this program for us to enjoy the benefits for a lousy $49 a month.

Hello, I have a question regarding the niche. There are two things I am interested in, namely travelling and self-development. I was thinking of starting with travelling but does it not imply that I need to know the places well myself? I have been around a bit but certainly not enough to compete with the exisiting travel blogs which offer exciting stories and fascinating pictures.
Reply
Your lack of knowledge is your best asset. For example, millions of people have toured the catacombs of paris. It would be hard to write anything new on the topic. While almost no one as visited the catacombs of Greece.

So you can write exclusively on places you've never been to. Places that few people have been to. Then you have a niche worth exploring. Hope this is helpful to you.

I would also recommend having an actionable item for people to do on your site. Like something for them to strive for. Like create a product to go hand in hand with your websites theme. then you can dropship travel equipment such as selife sticks and hiking boots. Stuff that they will need to complete their travel journal. Just some thoughts. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk more direct about it.

You check the second checkbox when you have decided a niche in your mind. You have to commit to your niche. Maybe write it down in a notebook or a document file. Deciding on a niche is very important because you will make content around that niche.

Just finished publishing my Privacy Page after some challenges. When I viewed it it was different from the template. My URL was only at the top and not throughout the policy(much nicer) and at the bottom was:
Your contact information
Additional information
How we protect your data
What data breach procedures we have in place
What third parties we receive data from
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
Industry regulatory disclosure requirements

I assume that this was done automatically via WA/Wordpress. Think it looks very professional and like many of the Privacy Policies I've seen for large corporations.

If you look into Paypal, I'm pretty sure you can. Check out being a merchant. And yes, you can sell items on your website as a content provider, there should be no restriction on this because the website builder is the commercial version of Wordpress. You could also sell on clickbank, etc...

If you need special permissions from WA -- I doubt it. But you can read the terms of service specifically regarding the restrictions of stuff you should not engage in.

Hello, my question regarding the SEO plug-in and chosen theme is this: When I view page source in Chrome, the elements for Meta-Name are not being shown in the source, therefore what I've typed in the SEO plug-in is not in the source file. The same is true for keywords -- no keywords entered into the SEO plugin are showing up in the source file at any location

Yes, I have used search features to see if I can locate character strings, and I cannot find any keywords or name description elements. Is there something wrong with the theme/SEO plugin interface?

It seems to me that it's important that the description and the key words show up somewhere in the source code !! :)

Just to confirm, you're in your site's WP back office right. You got there by going to Websites and clicking on login next to the site you want to edit. Then you should be able to go to Posts and click in the post you wish to edit. From there, if you make any changes, there should be an Update button in the upper-right corner to commit those changes.

I have no idea what theme Kyle used for that site. Sorry.

You can add these custom menus to organize your top menu in any way in which you like, as well as create sub-menus (for themes that will support this). You can also use these custom menus to add within your side widgets on your website (within your sidebar).

Here is a tutorial on how to create custom menus: I use custom menus on all of my websites (over-ride that default menu). It allows much more control and organization....both good things!

I personally didn’t request feedback or comments for my about me post. But you can earn credits by going to siteFeedback and giving feedback on someone’s site or siteComments and give comments to someone’s post. You earn one credit per feedback/post. It takes 2 credits to request feedback/post

Is it possible to make some sort of income with the starter kit? I want to get premium but would like to wait and see if this website is the right fit for me, not sure if the 7 day trial is enough to tell that either? Comments, help, everything welcome!
Reply
Seabee Premium
You absolutely can; it's just a little harder. The Premium membership give you access to ALL the tools and training offered here at WA. Yes you can "make it on your own" without going Premium, but you'll need to learn everything on your own too. The training alone is worth the cost of Premium. Then on top of that you have all the tools AND access to the community.
Reply

It is difficult to make money off of a siterubix site. It is possible but more difficult. You are right that a 7-day trial is not enough time.

But think of it as a decision making time not a time to see if it works. Because it does work if you put in the time and effort to make it work.

Remember that this is not a get rich quick site. It is, however, a business you are setting up for the long haul. If you are willing to work at it and wait for the people to come to you then you will be successful.

If you do the stock market as my husband does then it is always up and down. But if you stick with it then you make money.

If you make a decision to become premium then remember me because I love to help those who are willing to help themselves and will be happy to assist you if I can.

I wish all the best to you in your decision here at WA.

As far as how long it takes. Well this is up to each individual, what their niche is, how hard you work, and how prepared you are to undertake the training here

I just signed up for the free account and am testing the waters, so to speak, with starting my own site/blog. I have an MBA, so any site that I put together will likely have something to do with business. I am most passionate with business analysis, particularly as it relates to project management.

My concern is that BA tends to be a fairly "niche" community, although it is growing rapidly. I love talking about the subject, so content will not be a problem; but as not many people outside of business analysis & project management communities have even heard of the practice, I'm wondering how this might affect actual traffic.

I would certainly appreciate any thoughts or opinions anyone may have on the topic.

Thanks.

I went to school for civil engineering but never got a degree. Depending on how much money you need to make you should create a niche that you’re passionate about.
Reply
feigner Premium
but that's the whole idea AJ, you talk to like minded people and help them with their problems.
You will be making a site which helps others who may not be as advanced as you, gain more knowledge and solve their problems.
in solving their problems you may recommend product solutions, books, courses, etc.
so you have already found your niche - now take action and start the training and create your site to help others all over the world.
Good luck.

Creating a niche/web on what you are passionate about helps as you go through the training as you dont have to spend time researching. My niche is also very selective and there is very little affiliate marketing that links to it. but i look at this as my learning niche. My next one will be totally different once i understand the ins and out of web building

Hello, I want to make sure I did things correctly, I was completing the SEO section while following the training. However when I went to view source I could see my title but I could not see my description and when I went back to my web site I still see the 404 error. I know I haven't added content yet. Did I miss something I should see my description in the coding as well as the title correct?
Reply
RamenRiches Premium
Yes, but it can take a little while to update on the server side. Don't worry too much about the coding aspect of things in the source code. It's much more important to continue moving forward with your training and start to get content on your site so that it can begin ranking on the search engines.

You can always come back to the technical aspects of things later on and tweak them.

Should I create a website within a product of the niche, or the niche itself that promotes products?
Example, should I create a website on cars apparel / rims/ tyres or website on tyres?
I thought of creating website which promotes cars apparel products and within the subdomain, will include apparels, rims, tyres etc.
What are your thoughts. Any recommendations?
Reply
JeannineC Premium
You can do either. If you only do tires, then you'll need to go deep withing that subject. If you do a variety of apparel items, then you will go broad on the variety of items. Either one can be successful.

This sounds like a business decision. Of course, you can take a sub-niche and build a site around that. If that site can be monetized, why not?

Ok I always get stuck in picking a niche. I already blog in a couple of wider niches one being journaling another is marketing. But I want to start new by following wa. So I like PLR, could that make a profitable niche or am I better off going with a affiliate marketing mmo. Which is something I'm passionate about also?
Reply

MMo is great. You can use your PLR stuff to build an email list. (make sure you have the right licence and you're allowed to change the plr contents and cover to make it unique).

If you're into MMO then you can sell all digital stuff, which typically has a higher commission rate. (Sometimes 75% or even 100%).

And if you are into MMO then you can promote Wealthy Affiliate itself, too. Nice recurring commissions there. Recurring commissions are the best commissions because you don't have to work any harder to get a sale than you would to get a single time sale.

Take your time choosing a niche, there's no rush.

Does a niche have to be as specific as he has them, for example, baby car seats or baby girl dresses, or is it possible to have sorta multiple niches on one website? With this, I mean creating a website with a broader subject and having multiple products there.
Maybe it's not a very smart question, but I'd appreciate the help. Thanks!
Reply
BretRoyster Premium
As long as the subjects are super close or can be related. You might be surprised how much you can do with a super narrow niche. Its your business, if it makes sense to you - go for it. You could try telling us your specific niche(s) you are thinking too.
Reply
I thought maybe as overall theme something like organisation, and then as products not for example only agenda's, but different things such as planners or journals too.
Reply
hordol2013 Premium
If it helps, my niche is cloth diapers. After watching the training, I was worried I needed to narrow it even more, like "cloth diapers for beginners" or something. The person I signed up under said they thought cloth diapers was fine, and boy am I glad I went that route! Lol. I have even ended up broadening it a tad more to add eco-friendly posts. It would have been a lot less fun for me to narrow that much.

Now, some niches are broader than others. For example, "Clothes" is too broad--clothes for who? Who is your audience?

Hey Steve!

You are probably using a different "browser" to view your website.

Based on your details, you are probably using Microsoft Edge - but maybe not? (its possible you have funny options set on your browser too)

In the videos, Kyle is using Chrome: https://www.google.com/chrome/

I would recommend that browser when following the videos.

Well you look at websites with browsers not operating systems like Windows 10...

Unless Steve is using some kind of accessibility option in Windows 10 that's stopping his right-click from working correctly on his browsers, its probably a problem of using the wrong browser.

Steve - You could also try creating a new 'default' user profile on your Windows 10 machine. If your current profile has some weird accessibility option turned on, a new profile should have it turned off.

Hope that helps,

Hello Amanda and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate.
Most of us had a little skepticism when we first started here.

Rest assured Wealthy Affiliate is 100 % legit.
This community loves to help others.

The training is step by step and if you have questions, be sure to ask.

There is normally always someone active here on the platform. Members are from all over the world.

If you decide to go premium, the only other cost you might want to purchase would be your own domain.

As a free members you get 2 free (sub) domaines. As a premium member you will get 25 free domaines and 25 purchased domaines that you can have hosted here to build websites on at no additional cost.

If you think you might want to go premium, on Black Friday you will be able to get yearly for only $299 which averages out to $0.83 a day.

You can remain a free member as long as you like though.
I hope this helps : )

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

As LeeMcQuay has just said it is legit.
Wealthy Affiliate is a training site to help you build a website. Not to market products through a particular medium.

There are lots of ways to make money online and the training mentions most of them. However, it's focus is on building your own website.

Training is provided by Wealthy Affiliate (Kyle & Carson) but also members. Members also share their successes & failures - although we hope the latter does not happen too often.

This is not a get rich quick scheme that you join then find one time offers and add-ons after add-ons. It is simply a learning experience where everyone is helping everyone else.

We not only share tips and help but we also share our website URL's. As a premium member, we can list up to 7 websites or social media profiles that others can see. This is not about "I can't tell you the product or someone might steal my niche". It is a helpful and sharing community.

Only you can decide if you want to spend the time to learn about building a website and attempting to make money online. There are no guarantees - just like there are no guarantees that you will succeed in a bricks and mortar business. The biggest difference is that on here you can ask questions and get help. We are all always learning as the internet is always evolving.
Reply
possumlane Premium
Please do not think too long - this is the best education and training platform on the internet today. There is nothing else like it anywhere and if you take your time and look around the site and watch all the people on live chat and see just how we help one another I am sure you will be convinced. Apart from that we have over 1.4 million users on here and some are in their 80's. There are people from almost every country in the world here building their online marketing sites. There is also a live webinar every Friday Night (canadian time) for about an hour with questions and answers and again you will see that there are over 200 every webinar and many many questions get answered. If there is anything I can do to help please feel free to contact me and I will be ever so pleased to help in any way I can

Ok so I'm thinking I should have my niche in substance abuse recovery bit not so much leaning into or being biased towards any of the effective or ineffective programs. Wheather you is a 12 step or a start program or use a phycologist ect.. t should be a forum to help awareness of all these ideas and offer help and positive peer group forum for anyone needing immediate help for depression and crisis prevention. Also for me to discuss my prior opiateabuse and my belief that we are incapable of quitting on our own without outside prevention because of the cerbal cortex and how it is taken over so we are no longer able on our own stop it become a primal need.
Also open in this is my belief that medical marijuana should not be confused with addictive drugs. Open to discussing all isure . The substance abuse industry is full of federally fjnded money and many rehab centers have money coming out their ears. My focus will be to attract these centers once my following gets large enough Al that I can receive a commission for mentioning than and when people enter their facilities. I currently have a large brotherhood of members of different abise programs I speak with regularly that would love to post articles as part of their own recovery. Wow and I can go on and on for days about more ideas I just thought all this up right now. Hmm starting to fall in place . Thank u all

If you don't have the budget to upgrade at the moment, that is completely fine. You should work through the Getting Started training (within the "Get Started Here" button in the menu) and take action.

By lesson 4 you are going to have your own niche website up and running. This is the starting point of your business and is the foundation that is going to lead you to success down the road.

When you are ready to upgrade, I know you are going to absolutely love it but at your own pace.

Just a quick note about viewing the source code within safari 12 on a Mac. Apparently Apple has hidden this option. You need to activate the developer menu first. If the Developer menu is not visible, go into safari Preferences in the Advanced section and select Show Develop menu in menu bar. Hello. I am a part-time wedding photographer and interested in travel. I've been to over 20 countries and have a bank of high quality images, tips and advice about the places I visited. Would it be to broad to start a website about the places I visited? Do I need a more specific niche?

Hi Heni,

Would be a wedding-related or travel-related approach? Or a combination?

Have you seen these? The above tutorials can help you to test and refine your niche idea ...
Reply

Personally, I would say it is a bit broad. Try narrowing it down to tourist attractions in those places, or food, good wedding or vacation spots in those places. Just writing randomly about all the places would be to broad. This is only my opinion however.

You can do a travel photography kind of website based on what exactly your were taking photos on, is it landscapes, people, food, nature narrow down to what message the pictures are sending. Am in the travel niche and working on a second site based on my photos which are more of nature and wildlife related.

I wanted to do travel related site about the destinations I visited with tips and advice, but I think it is too broad. I'm starting to think I should choose a niche like 'finding the right travel suitcase' or 'best travel suitcases' - thanks for the links, I will look at those now.

Good evening! I was thinking of a niche to start with and thought of pet bowls, specifically pet drinking fountains. It actually something that I have used for my pets for several years now and love it! I wanted to do something with pets since I have cats and dogs, so I am passionate about them. I guess I am wondering if it is narrow enough to start with? Thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Nothing is too narrow and I love my pets - used to breed dogs and cats and was always looking for drinking and food bowls. If that is something you know about then you will have trouble writing content and getting images for your site. If there is anything I can do to help please feel free to contact me

Pet drinking fountains--now that's a niche! ... as you likely already know, pets are huge and growing every year as everyone loves their pets and want the very best for them! ...

Go for it! ... All the best to you for every success, cheerio... 😊

I'm trying to think of a niche and I've come up with a few possible ones. I'd greatly appreciate any responses!
1. A man baking at home: Not just pastries and desserts, but also bread. Not necessarily original recipes, will always give credit where it is due, but may also change them up, post pictures/results, and get feedback.
2. Increasing strength, size, and endurance with bench press by lifting every day. Post videos, results, calendar of progress.
3. I enjoy playing video games, but not necessarily sure where to take this idea as there are already so many game sites out there.
4. Same idea with the games, but my love of electronics and other gizmos/gadgets. I've backed over 60 projects on Kickstarter, so I thought maybe I could do something with that.
5. I am a music lover and love to sing.

Cost-wise, I think the benching would be the least expensive as I already have the equipment at home.
Ideas 3 and 4 would be the most expensive and possibly 5 might be up there if I buy any equipment to try out for my own reviews. Of course, I suppose I can go off the reviews of others people, but that seems insincere.
With the baking idea, while it's the idea I like the most and I already do have some ingredients, tools, and equipment at home, buying more with a limited budget may become expensive, though not as much as 3 and 4. However, I also feel like this idea may get the most traction.

Again, I would love any thoughts on these ideas!

What is your greatest passion. That is the niche you need to concentrate on because that is the one that you have the most knowledge about. It is also the one that you can write content and not have to worry about finding things to write about. There is no reason why you cannot set up 2nd, and 3rd websites once you have the first one done. I have 12 domains and 3 are operational and I am working on the others. Anything I can do to help please feel free to contact me - even if you want to private email me - I will be only too pleased to help you achieve what it is you want to achieve
You could also do drop shipping which is what one of my sites is going to be and that brings in money fairly quickly but that information I can only give to you privately and at the moment I think it would be better to start here and keep your costs to a minimum until you get on your feet
Carol

Just my suggestion: You can start the benching, since you are able to post videos and results, this will make you more of a guy that can be trusted.
Reply

I think my greatest passion right now is probably baking. I like the idea of baking with 100% whole wheat flour and trying out a recipe once a day or once a week. I'll probably start with some easier bread recipes and then transition into doing experimenting with doing whole wheat sweets. Not sure what kind of success rates I will have, but at least it will show people what results I get so they can decide to try it out or not themselves.

I may also do the benching too, since neither will take that much time to do. Benching might possibly take me 30 minutes to an hour and baking about an hour to four, depending on what I'm doing, but usually not a continuous block of time (downtime for proofing, baking, etc).

All sounds good, but need to narrow it down in the beginning. Get a good foundation with one then as your skills grow you can branch out. Otherwise, your focus will be divided and time and be less productive. Get the foundation,

Okay, so keyword searches.
I understand the concept of low QSR and High Avg search.
I'm just wondering if the QSR is say 270 but the avg search is 8500/month would that work out to still be a good keyword to use or is the QSR still just to high. So im wondering if the a really high avg makes up for a high QSR.

Not with a new site, you want to keep your QSR under 100. That is the number I try to keep under, closer to 0 the better.

You will log into the back office of your website. Is the link within the theme header, or within the content. If theme header, you will need to fix the menu.

Ok so for the beginning you just want write (to talk to your audience) about self development.

Maybe start with the area that you have the most knowledge about.

Your objective is to HELP them, give them solutions. You won't promote products until your website is really gaining momentum and getting adequate traffic.

So right now you want to help your reader on how to better themselves then later you can incorporate products into the content.

I have to run my youngest one back to the Dr right now, but late I would be willing to further help you if you wish.

Forgive me for the repost but it wasn't a question last time so may not have caught the eye of the more experienced WA crew

I'm busy working on my niche website and continue my training through module 4 but I have a slight dilemma and I would welcome some input.

Alongside my niche, I've an old personal website on which I'm mirroring the training for future affiliate income. I would like to share here for comments and reviews to boost the site within google.

But here's the thing that I'm concerned about: it's adult orientated (no nudity or anything like that) more linked to my LGBT lifestyle linked to products (toys, clothes, equipment) in that industry.

Yes it's niche and I can knock out 1,000 words much quicker than I can for my current niche.

However I don;t want to offend anyone in this awesome WA community.

So is it best to follow my current niche and keep the LGBT running alongside, applying the learnings (but not getting feedback likes and comments here) or would it be OK to share in this community?

I'm cool with either answer but I'd like some guidance so that a) I don't upset anyone or b) be forced to leave for whatever reason

Thanks in advance

There are other people that have websites about toys, clothes, etc. that are adult in nature. In my humble opinion, if it is the type of site that someone here doesn't want to read about, then they will not comment on your site or likely even visit. If it is something they want to read about or learn more about, they will. There is a place to ask for comments (Site Comments if you are a premium member) or you can go to the give and take (which will come later in your training) .

Best wishes,
Karin :)

Hi Everyone, I am confused! When I find my niche, get my website up and running and add content, do I have to add products of my own and have to deal with shipping products to customers, deal with inventory of my own, etc. or can I add other companies I'm associated with as a affiliate and include their products into my website to sell and have them deal with the shipping and inventory to customers and get a certain percent of the sales? Is that how I make money off my website or not? I saw someone's website here with WA and read that they deal with their own products, shipping and inventory. I really don't want to have to do that. I hope this makes sense. Thanks! Erin :)

I think that most of us are affiliates who market other company's products—like Amazon.
You do not have to have your own products. I don't have my own and most of the sites I have checked out don't sell their own products. Some do. I used to sell on eBay. Doing this as an affiliate is SO much easier and hassle-free!

A lot depends on what you are promoting. If you are drop shipping then your drop shipper will do all the work. If you are promoting a product then you will get affiliates and put their links onto your site. I think that the website you saw here was probaly a drop shipping site. That is where you set up a website and put other peoples products on your site at an elevated cost of course and people pay you, you take out your portion of the payment and send the rest to the drop shipper and the drop shipper does the rest. I don't think that is what you want to do - right? I think you need to find a niche and set up a website around that niche and get affiliate links onto your site and when people click on your affiliate links and purchase you get a commission.
As to your niche - well that is something you need to be passionate about, have a good deal of knowledge of and be able to write content. For instance if you like cameras - that would be your niche however the offshoot to that is that cameras have accessories and you would gradually add those to your website and have the affiliate links so that when people clink on that link and ultimately purchase you get the commission. I hope that I have helped you and if there is anything else I can do please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help your achieve the results you are looking for

There are rules about what can be posted here, BUT, as long as your site is CLEAN and you list it as Adult Content, you should be ok.

When you ask for comments, members can judge for themselves if they are comfortable with commenting on it or not.

There are some Video pages that way. What it is the WordPress product has changed forcing WA to try to find all the Videos that have been made to try to upgrade. It is not easy to upgrade Videos. One suggestion would be to look for another Video in the library of hundreds that cover the same subject if you don't seem to be finding an answer.

The best way to ask your question is to use the gray bar at the top of every page next to WA Logo. It goes right to Live Stream.

Hi there,

You would need to narrow it down a bit. Like natural remedies or healing the soul, mind, and body with natural remedies. Or aromatherapy for healing or things like that.

I would suggest you go to google and research these subjects to see what people are interested in. Just search as if you were interested in buying some of these products. This can tell you if it is a good market.

I hope this helps.

The level of technical support around the clock is phenomenal. It includes hosting for I don't know how many websites, a course, frequent webinars. my niche is going to be 'reducing stress depression and anxiety'
but I'm not sure about the actual angle. Is better to market towards reducing stress depression or anxiety or market towards increasing peace happiness and wellbeing. same product and process just different angle.
Any thoughts on which is best
or
can the website and content deal with both and just have two different marketing directions/angles/funnels
Reply
Kyle Premium
That can be your angle. You can help people reduce stress and anxiety and the content and the discussions on your website, and the products and services can be relevant to that.

When I go to do research on a given niche to come up with concepts for keywords (and ultimately content), I ask a few questions of my niche.

**What are some products/services that people are purchasing in your niche?
**What are some questions they are asking?
**What are some problems they are having?
**What are some "how to's" that are useful?
**What are some trending topics in your niche?

Do some research, in could be as simple as a Google search to uncover a lot of these items. I personally start off my keyword research using this technique: This will open your doors to essentially unlimited ideas and concepts, from there you can plug in these keywords into the keyword/research platform that is available to you here at WA. Hope this helps you out here Craig!

I tried it quickly and came up with these: see the images below. THen you can plug these suggestions into Jaaxy and see how they fare.

Good morning to all! I am making plans to upgrade my membership to premium status before the end of the day today. As I live on such a tight budget and fixed income, I complete on-line surveys that are paid directly into my Paypal account. Hopefully, I will succeed and upgrade. Please keep me in your thoughts as I strive to make this happen! Be blessed all!

It will be the best decision you'll ever make. I am a newbie too,
I had cold feet as well. Took the lip of faith and if my vehicle of strength was in reverse. It is now doing about 300 miles per hour. Dare to Prem!!
I did.
No regrets.
Good will come out of it. I am POSITIVE.
