We are now getting into the fun stuff!

You have your website in place and now you want to make it SEO ready so that search engines can find it. Our goal is to get ranked in the BIG 3, Google, Bing & Yahoo. Do note that our focus is going to be primarily on Google though as they own over 2/3 of all search traffic, and over 95% of mobile searches.

But why do you want rankings in the search engines? Simple...

Website Rankings + Targeted Traffic = Revenue!

This is the first step in creating an online revenue stream. Today we are going to walk you through the set-up of a plugin that is going to do a lot of the "dirty work" for you and will take care of the optimization of all your website pages/posts, meta tags, and other aspects that search engines look for when ranking your site.

I have created a video walk-through of this training and please follow along as it will add a lot of clarity to how SEO works, but also how to install the All in One SEO plugin.

DISCUSS THIS VIDEO HERE: Getting Your Website SEO Ready

Task 1: Set-up All in One SEO on your site

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a very important aspect of any website's success.

In this task we are going to be setting up a plugin that makes our website code (the stuff behind the scenes of our website) friendly for search engines like Google so they can index and rank our sites properly. This is going to be very powerful for your website content getting ranked in search engines going forward, so don't skip this task.

Make sure you follow the instructions on setting this up from this lesson's video. Here are a few things that you want to remember:

  • You can update this at any time within your the main menu (the link to the All in One SEO set-up is just under the Dashboard menu item)
  • Update your Home Title and Home Description. Keywords are not all that important.
  • Change the | to - (optional)
  • Save the settings when done.

You are NOT going to see these changes from setting up this plugin as the work is done behind the scenes within your websites HTML code. Don't worry about this, it is making your code friend for search engines like Google. :)

Im just wondering but I had an old website that iv just recently picked up again and am going to apply the training of this course to this website. But there is something im wondering about.

From what I know ur content should be unique, u should never copy someone else's content. All my content is unique but iv also taken customer reviews from the comment section from sites like ebay and copied and pasted that on my website as "Testimonials". Im worried if this could affect my rank because google could scan through and see that it has copied content from other websites.

What do uz think? :L

@RICH. Premium
It's hugely risky, especially as ebay and Amazon forbid the copying of content from their site, and are likely to cancel your affiliation if they catch you.
Reply
Iv stated "Reviews from ebay". Does that make a difference?

Here are a few things I've picked up over the years on making niche sites.

-It's much easier to create content for a blog if you like what you are talking about. ( I have a few blogs on niche products that I rarely update because I hate writing content for them )

-You can research a profitable niche using "Magazine.com" as a starting point.
Basically, if there is a magazine dedicated to a niche, that probably indicates publishers are spending the money to circulate
that content.

-I would rather have a blog with 3 to 4 great articles with a few thousand words I took the time to create , than have 20 half assed "filler" articles that keep me on page 4 in Google forever.

Ok I'm really frustrated and ready to shut mine down. I have not worked in over a year and have NO income so I cannot upgrade to Premium at this time. Emails and notices keep coming to me to view a certain video or webinar or whatever and when I go to click on it to pre-register it says I have to be Premium member...ugh!! This is just wasting my time now trying to promote anything.

Thank you all again for your support the past few days and best of luck to you all.

Tammy those are what sound like the Friday evening training webinars. You must have somehow done that when you were doing your profile to receive notifications. Just don't worry about it or go into your profile and change what you get in your email updates.
You can do this free Tammy. It may take a bit longer and you may have to work a bit harder but it is more than being done by many. Oh, and if I am wrong on the emails you are getting you can unsubscribe at the bottom but still stay here and learn free. best of luck in your decisions.

Thank you but even until I become Premium upgrade I'm not able to have my site critiqued and commented on, by my understanding.

Tammy, this is an easy fix. On the left side panel, scroll to the bottom. You will see Account Settings.

Once your in the Account Setting page scroll all the way down the page and you will see where you can manage your email and your notifications.

When I first started. I turned off all the notifications LOL. Too many distractions.

Hope this helps, being frustrated sucks I know!

My concern with this is, You just joined as a free member 5 days ago, correct? I believe that you should have full access to the platform for the first 7 days after joining. If this is correct, you should be able to send me a Private Message.

It has been almost 3 years since I joined so I can't remember what the platform looks like from a starter member perspective.

Right now Tjenning122 I like you I have not work in 24 months and am in need of income, but what I have come to learn is you must build your only income base today. So stay with it a little bit longer.

Tammy, if you cannot afford to be premium at this time then you can do so whenever you are able. You will not lose anything that you have created and will still have access to the first 10 Certification and Bootcamp trainings.

I agree that it can be frustrating that you cannot get feedback because you need to be Premium. If you want to post a link to your website you could always write the url out like this.

yourdomainname . siterubix . com

Anyone who has a website should be able to figure out that they just need to delete the spaces and then copy and paste the website url into their address bar.

Now unfortunately it will take about $2.10 per day to learn and operate your business website here at WA as a premium member. If you can find a way to get $313.00 by the time Thanksgiving comes, you could become a yearly WA member for $299.00 in the WA Black Friday Sale + $14.00 for your own domain name.

This will give you an entire year to get your website business up and running because it normally takes about 6 months to a year to start making consistent money, depending on how much work and effort you put in.

Going yearly will save you more money than paying monthly. Paying monthly will cost you $558.00 for your first year. Paying yearly will cost you either $359.00 or $299.00 during the Black Friday Sale. Either way you will save a lot of money over monthly.

It is something to consider because that is only 3 months away and you can stay a free member until then or until you can get $19.00 for your first month of premium and then go yearly if you can. Just something to think about if you can swing it.

So I am reviewing videos again because I am slightly confused. As Kyle teaches this lesson he talks about creating his content right in the Pages Menu by hitting edit and writing his content right there. But on the Site Rubix there is Site Content which I watched his video on too. I found with my free site changing it to a bought theme created problems. I actually got rid of the problems by copying and pasting my content in the Site Content area. This made the health of my site better, though I do not know why. But can anyone tell me which is the best way to write the content. On Site Content area or in the Pages Area?

did you take a look at his video on sitecontent, it may help you decide which one to use as for the lessons - he is in the process of updating them that is why they are a little out of step at the moment with all the new developments on the platform - now we have sitecontent, sitespeed [ so no more caching plugins] siteprotect [so no more akismet] etc

Thank you, MozMary! I did review it again and still foggy. I know I have some stuff published thru the Site Manager but I have everything now recopied in the SiteContent and I am not sure what i should do. Nothing in the SiteContent shows that it is published and I would prefer that to show than the Site Manager. And do we still set our pages in Site Manager or just work from the new SiteContent?

Hello all!

You can do it either, some members are more comfortable working behind a splash screen until their site is "presentable" by using a plugin like Coming Soon https://wordpress.org/plugins/coming-soon/ However, I think the majority want to start getting indexed as soon as possible, so build their sites publicly, post-by-post.

Hi Rahma... I felt the same way when I just started as well. I will suggest first and foremost write down the way you feel and what you think will help you progress from where you are to the next step.
Secondly follow the training one step at a time, no matter how long it takes you. Follow Kyle's instruction within each training. You will be amazed by the time you get to the end of each training what you have developed and implemented on your site.

It's scary but fun at the same time.

My top suggestions: People are different so sometimes we need to trust our inner gut feeling and go with the flow.
Follow the training each step at a time. Try not to jump one session to another. You will be amazed how many blog post you have at the end of each training.
Ask for help when you feel stuck.
Read other people's success stories and see how far they have come. This will inspire you to keep going.
Remain focus and be consistent.
Once you are happy with where you are you will know the answer to your question: "If you should regularly post blogs or if you should just keep a few in hand and then keep writing along the way".

Lots of success.

1. When working on the website can I stop and then go back without loosing any of my work.
2. Can I control when my website goes active?
3. Do I need to already be signed up with affiliates before starting my website?
4. I need to redirect my URL to WA DNS info. Should this be done prior to starting my website?

It's late so I'll be starting this tomorrow with a fresh mind.

I need ideas for websites. I only want to become an affiliate for companies like Amazon, Best Buy, Wal-Mart etc. I do not have niches, products to sell or blog or write comments. I am a newbie and not real good at computer skills so the simpler the better. Can any one help me or should I find something else for a business?
Reply
JanetMoore Premium
I understand the hesitation about computer skills, but you need to consider that being an affiliate of big box entities (amazon, walmart, etc) give you a lot of opportunity to either flourish or end up being a wanna be amazon, walmart, etc. You don't see a lot of wannabes out there making a lot (or any) of money.

Take a few minutes to find something that you are interested in. Are you interested in it enough to make the time to learn not only about it but also about how to talk about it via computer?

If the answer is 'yes' that is your niche.
If the answer is 'no' you may want to consider something that is not part of the big box entities.

Hi, I'm just new here and would appreciate advice on my question. I have an existing blog in Blogger. Started it in 2013. Have 5 posts in there and didn't get to update it anymore. Last year, I noticed people are still looking at it so I didn't close it. Checked it today and it is averaging 450 views per month. Is it even worth it to migrate it to WA and is that even possible?

Is it something you would like to continue? Is it a blog that is a niche? (if your not sure what niche is check this out I think this is definitely something to look into seeing if you can but sorry I can't be any help on that.
If you can't you could always link a website that people can go between.

hi..thanks for giving your input! i do want to continue it as it is something i really like, but i think i may have to figure out how to make it a better niche as it is a bit broad right now.

If the site is ranking and getting some organic traffic, I would definitely keep it. Do a bit of research and see if there is potential to grow the site...

Regarding the migration - there are a couple of good articles on this here. Use the search bar on the top and search for "migrating site", etc.

This is probably a ridiculous question of great simplicity but I am having trouble understanding this flow..

Please someone explain to me what is the relationship of the website to the blog? Or are they considered separate?

In other words in my niche do I have both a website that drives traffic and I write a blog on my website? and both are specific to the niche?

So if my niche is health wealth success and happiness...does my website have that title? and I have a blog within it that discusses the niche?

am I over thinking this?

if I have a niche that is discussing self help.. how do I convert that to a website that says health wealth success and happiness and makes sales that does not sound like spam?

I am not sure if am being clear..I just need clarity...thank you!
Reply
JanetMoore Premium
You are overthinking this a bit. <G>

Your blog is part of your website. I approach the blog portion of my websites as if I were sitting across the table from you and we were talking.

What would we talk about? How would I phrase it? If I were to suggest a product, how would I go about that? These are things you need to think about as you develop your blog posts.

As for the spam portion...Pay attention to the way you set up your material. I can't speak for the search engines, but I keep hearing that Google (in particular) looks for pages that are filled with links and things to take the visitor somewhere else.

I subscribe to the idea that less is more - State your case, add the link you think work with the goal of the post and go on to the next post. Pay attention to the training, it will help you as you work your way thru the maze.
Reply
ericcantu Premium
Your blog here at WA is completely separate from your website. The WA blog is meant to be a way of keeping track of your progress, your successes, your questions, etc...

Your website that you're building will be composed of pages and posts of original content all around keywords you research relevant to your niche. The posts can sometimes be call blog posts, and they will be found on your blog roll. But they are simply articles you're writing for quality content based on your niche.

Nothing to worry about, just follow the training and write your content as Kyle instructs you to. Before you know it you'll have a healthy website filling up with original content that your target audience will be finding when they make their google searches.

I've got 3 questions regarding picking a niche and niches in general

1) In the tutorial video its explained that you can pick amazon as your niche and help sell they're products . its also mentioned that you can pick Wealthy Affiliate(WA) as your niche . my question is what i be selling on WA if i picked it as my niche ?

2)also should my website be industry or domain specific (for example: health , weight loss , technology , sports etc )
or can i have one website and sell products from different domains ?

3) for instance if i pick amazon as my niche and build a website for it , will i need a totally other website for another niche (example: WA )

Amazon is not a niche. It is a collection of niches. A niche is a subject or topic or item you want to talk about and promote. If you go to a mall, each small store is a niche. If you go to a big box store, the store contains a lot of niches.

Wealthy Affiliate is part of a niche that focuses on Online Businesses.

The name of your website (aka: Domain) is the sign on the front of your store - it tells potential visitors what you are talking about and selling. If you call it Little Red Wagon and inside they don't find any sort of wagon, they are not going to be happy and will probably leave. On the other hand if you are clever you can create a brand called Little Red Wagon that is actually about something else, but people could recognize (Who would think GAP is about clothes?)

You can build multiple websites (domains) that cover a variety of topics (niches).

I think initially you might want to concentrate on building websites that will drive traffic to them. To do that you might want to focus on one niche and build your material around that. The training will help you work your way thru that.

I usually turn this on. It isn't a requirement, so that is totally up to you. The impact that "meta" keywords will have on your business is very nominal, whereas the keywords that you have within your actual content that you are creating will be the focus moving forward.

Here is some training if you are not ready to upgrade quite yet Marcus: You have to do what makes the most sense to your financial situation, so no issues there. Also, keep working on your website, keep building out keyword targeted content, and stay active within the training/community.

Upgrade at your own pace and what makes the most sense to you. :)

Hello McVenom,

You can still create your 2 free websites on SiteRubix and monetize them. For instance you can sign up for several affiliates to market their products according to your niche selections.

I am currently signed up for Amazon Associates--their affiliate program and will be promoting my niche products for others to purchase on Amazon. Later I will sign up for other affiliates: Ebay, Best Buy, Walmart, etc.

I am into my second week at WA and have ranked #1 and page 1 on google for my first website.

May you have continued success in not only meeting but exceeding your business goals!

You will need to be specific with any of those areas. Women -handbags- what brands-which age group of women-what prices-what materials...

When you know that you will be closer to a niche.

Oh ok will narrow again.
Thank you Cramervod.

OK here it is and let me know I'm doing right :

It's a women's shoulder stylish handbags and the brand name are as follows:

Kate spade
Aldo
Nine west
Calving Klein
Fossil

Jewelery :
Michael Kors
Pandora
Swarosvki
Kate Spade

All those above brands are known and it's prices as well.

Am I close to niche or?
Please help.

My fault I should have explained it better. The niche is the group of people you will target with everything you mentioned above. I just wanted you to narrow that down. i.e women 18-35 who live in the U.S. and will spend x -y on whichever brand of handbag.

Once you know that, figure out the URL of your site. ...
Website Name ...

OK now I understand.

Hello

I am on the training and got to lesson 7 (Finding Content Ideas from Keywords) the next task is to complete 10 searches using Jaxxy ive signed up but on the training video it used the example of how to use belly fat but my niche is football gear e.g football boots kits and balls any suggestions on how i would approach the keywords ? Would i search for e.g football shirts or footballs

Thank you Rich ill get on to it. Just another question as you've been so helpful. Am i right in saying that keywords are not just going to be in title of the website when it comes up on google search but will it also pick it up with the content on the website does that make sense ?
Reply
@RICH. Premium
You try to use a single, relevant but different keyword for every page and post you create for your site. You put it in the title and first paragraph and write naturally around it. For example, one of your keywords for an orchid site might be "prune orchids", so for one post the title might be "How to prune orchids" and the first para might contain, "The best way to prune orchids is...".

I recommend you leave the SEO title and description fields blank.

Here's an example of the difference http://d.pr/i/ay7Y

I've searched for "afternoon tea at the ritz". The first result shows Google deciding what to show from the post and emboldening my search term. The second one has a forced description so it doesn't show my search term.

I believe people are more likely to click on a result that shows their search term than one that doesn't.

It also saves time and effort crafting "perfect" descriptions, especially as Google seems to be ranking higher content that doesn't have such descriptions!

Heyo people, I have a little question here.

I'm on the 'About Me' page, sitting thinking up content to put there and one thought has occurred to me that I want to ask about in detail about before I go on.

Should I mention to people all the motivations for my creating this website? I mean, I'm not a bad guy, but I'm not a saint, my website is going to have content to help people out... but I'm doing it cause I'm going to make money from it

It seems like a delicate topic to broach, in your experience, do people appreciate your honesty when you say. 'I created this website to help get me money!' Do they prefer to know your full motivations so they can trust you? Or does hearing that make them think less of you and avoid you?
Reply
@RICH. Premium
I don't think it's necessary. I don't see "we built this site to make money" on Amazon, Walmart, eBay, etc. :)
Reply
NYAKOOJO1 Premium
Hey Lee there is no problem with that because you are being realistic but under marketing, many times the customers buy the uses or value of the product or service. They don't normally look at the product but what it's going to help or satisfy him. So it's good to emphasize the value of the product or service to the customer on your site than just to make money. Money comes after satisfying the need.

Hey Lee, what is your niche? Do some research and look at a few competitor sites in your niche and their About Us pages. That will give you some inspiration ;)

Generally you should position yourself as the expert on this page. You have the answers your readers are looking for.

Hope this helps...

I am having a hard time with coming up with a niche and I don't wanna keep wasting a lot of time on it, and continue to over think it that is what had me stuck the last time and I didn't get anywhere, and am returning back to WA and I don't want to be unproductive as I was the last time so I am going to choose the affiliate bootcamp and promote WA, with the hope that it will give me a better understanding of exactly what a niche is so I can create more niches, do you think this a good move?
Reply
@RICH. Premium
I always recommend you work in a niche you are truly passionate about, there's nothing more dreary than writing content year-after-year about a topic that bores you to tears! That said, if you're truly stuck, do Affiliate Bootcamp, but it is highly competitive, make sure you have an angle and a target audience, ie. second income stream for veterans, etc. :)

Maureen, - I've seen a lot of people be successful with the Bootcamp. And I believe the lessons there apply also to any niche, so it's all good stuff.
But I'd have a think about what you care about in life? What matters to you Maureen? What interests you? Hobbies? Skills you have? Is there something in particular that you tend to search for on the web? What do you find inspiring? Anything you ever helped anyone with in the past, that you really enjoyed doing? etc. Perhaps whilst you are doing Bootcamp the idea will suddenly come. All the best.

Very interesting and informative video. The idea of choosing a niche was somewhat daunting before this section as I always understood a niche to be something that people wanted, but would struggle to find (ie, a "niche" in the market)

Now I know it can be literally ANYTHING, it doesn't seem quite so difficult to come up with a niche.

I know it is advised to find something you're passionate about but does this mean it has to be something you're vastly knowledgeable about as well?

best to have some knowledge but you can learn as you go so passion for your niche is very important :)

Yes.You should be knowledgeable about it.
Actually this helps you to talk naturally to your prospects and be able to write yourself the content, otherwise, if you think those two things are not your concern, choose whatever you love.

Just a thought, but for those struggling with the idea of finding a niche - think about the last time you walked in a shopping center or mall.

Each store is a different niche. While some big box stores will have hundreds of niches, the smaller boutique stores tend to cater to a specific interest.

Your website will be a version of a store. The information you write about, the affiliate links you add, all combine to support the topic of the niche.

Hopefully this will help you clarify what you are looking for and how to approach it as you develop your sites.

Exactly each store is actually many different niches! This is a great idea and we are all involved in many different niches with our shopping habits alone. Then take our passions and interests into consideration and we all have lots of ideas.

For example i explored the Amazon and i found very interesting products there in terms of reviews and people visiting the product being advertised. Please teach me step by step how i will post the product in my website or how to copy the linked posted to my website? Please bear with me i am very enthusiastic on this program but i just started to learn how to operate the PC of my son which is idle almost everyday when he is working out of our house. I'm just more concerned about the monthly billing and confused on it. So do we have to pay the $359 along with the $49 per month even though we haven't made a sale? What if I don't have the money for it? Will I get kicked out of the Wealthy Affiliate if I don't?
Reply
cramervod Premium
The monthly membership is $49. The $359 is for a yearly membership. You will have a grace period if you are unable to keep up with the monthly payments, in which time you can get your website(s) hosting elsewhere or make that months payment.
Reply
Elizstarr74 Premium
Also, that 359 a year is prorated, as the days, weeks and months,go by, since you became premium, when you're paying the $49 a month the amount of 359 comes down. So, by 6 months that will be half the amount of 359.
Reply
ericcantu Premium
lol, don't worry. The monthly premium membership is $49/month. Your first month is discounted heavily at $19, so for $19 you'll basically get a full test drive of all that the premium membership offers you for an entire month. If you love it, perfect. If not, you're free to leave, but trust me, most don't because this training is the best I've found online and for $19, that's hard to beat.

The yearly membership which is the best value is a one time $359. It averages out to $29/month instead of the $49, so you're basically getting around half off. You pay that once, and you're done with any payments for a full year.

So jump in and take full advantage of your first month. See if this is for you. You won't get a better opportunity to try out training like this for this cheap :) Enjoy!

hello
there is one point that i'm not sure about in this lesson
those 3 keywords i need to acquire, what do they need to be about. what i actually mean, for example, my chosen niche is about best mouses for gaming/gamers, this niche it self, got more objects in it, i mean products like Razor for example, so those keywords should be about the niche overall (best mouses for gaming)? or about anything that belongs to the niche (best Razor/Logitech mouses as example)?
Reply
MikeAkers Premium
Yes that works...the niche (best Razor/Logitech mouses) and anything related that has a low competition and good traffic

Thanks Kyle, you're always providing the information I need to help me succeed. One of the things I learned today, by using key word searches, is that my interests aren't necessarily the highest priority of others. So I changed things around a bit, by changing key words just a little (just using a Google search to judge and then the WA keyword tool), Google results went from 6.6mm to 21.6mm in a matter of minutes. As I am still in the process of getting my web page up and running, this is invaluable information!
Reply
So I have a bit of a problem, none of the videos seem to be working for me today. Does anyone know how I can fix it? In the video block it says "The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network has failed, or because the format is not supported."
Thing is, is that everything was working fine yesterday.

I've got a question for people who have already had lots of success with digital marketing. I am a transgender male, meaning I was born female and medically transitioned to male. I was thinking this could be a good niche considering the media has blown up the whole transgender thing as of late. What are your thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

I think that's a fantastic niche. There are a lot of people needing support with that lately. I'm not aware of many products, perhaps books on the subject and psychology books, maybe affiliates with reliable hormone therapy in the future. There was a man featured on msn just the other week, who had been in a beautiful female body and his transition was amazing, because he is now in a hot male body. Interviewing other transgender people would certainly provide for lots of content. As would those FAQs and "things transgender people are tired of hearing" kind of posts. Here's to your success!

You're right, with this being a popular topic right now (and even if it wasn't), I think you could really reach out and help so many others! There's so much you could write about since you've been through it.

If you could get traffic, don't worry about monetization.
Just get the traffic and everything else will follow, I just started by adding courses that I am promoting because I had them already in my mind and I love the niche.
The rest is to get traffic, but I am determined to add a blog post or content at least once out of two days.

I am going to be promoting items related to medical areas. Is there any law experts here as I do not want to give advice on medical problems, just promote items which are made to help reduce the symptoms to the medical problem(s)I can promote items for. I dont want to get into any legal problems Thx much

You will need to find a Medical Disclaimer, and make sure you're not claiming to be any kind of medical professional. Tell people to seek a medical doctor's advice before taking any kind of supplement or vitamin/mineral. And that your's is just an opinion and isn't meant to be viewed as anything but for informational purposes. Something along those lines, I was researching the disclaimer a bit and that is what I found...

Thinking to look at wedding planning as the niche. So the group of people I am looking at would be the couple who is starting to plan for their wedding. Also looking at ideas to incorporate honeymoon under this heading as well.

My concern is would it be too broad for a niche? Appreciate your feedback to help me narrow down this. Thank you so much!

Hi there. I did a bit of research and I have found a couple of good suggestions with domain names that are available too.

budget wedding ideas Or creative wedding ideas

budgetweddingideas(.net) and creativeweddingideas(.net) are both available!

Both of these wedding themed phrases get around 500 searches per month alone. The competition level is pretty good too. You could incorporate anything that you like into "Creative Wedding Ideas".

It's really a question of what you feel comfortable with. Does this niche get you excited to get started? Do you think that you could create content for the site on a regular basis?
