We are now getting into the FUN stuff! Search Engine Optimization, also known as SEO!
You have your website in place and now you want to make it SEO ready so that search engines can find it. Our goal is to get ranked in the BIG 3 engines, Google, Bing & Yahoo. Do note that our focus is going to be primarily on Google though as they own over 65% of all search traffic, and over 95% of mobile searches.
But why do you want rankings in the search engines? Simple...
Website Rankings = Targeted Traffic = Revenue!
The rankings are the first step in creating an online revenue stream.
Today we are going to walk you through the set-up of a Wordpress plugin that is going to do a lot of the "dirty work" for you and will take care of the optimization of all your website pages/posts, meta tags, and other aspects that search engines look for when ranking your site.
I have created a video walk-through of this training and please follow along as it will add a lot of clarity to how SEO works, but also how to install the All in One SEO plugin.

DISCUSS THIS VIDEO HERE: Getting Your Website SEO Ready
Task 1: Set-up All in One SEO on your site
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a very important aspect of any website's success.
In this task we are going to be setting up a plugin that makes our website code (the stuff behind the scenes of our website) friendly for search engines like Google so they can index and rank our sites properly. This is going to be very powerful for your website content getting ranked in search engines going forward, so DO NOT skip this task.
Since you activated the All in One SEO within the last lesson, you should see the "All in One SEO" item with your main menu now in your Wordpress back office. If you mouse over that menu icon, a sub menu will pop out (see below).
Simply click the "General Settings" link. This is where you will be going to set-up your SEO settings for your website.
The main section you are going to be updating here is the Home Page Settings section. There are two sections that you will be updating there:
- Home Title - This is the title of your website that will show up when you get ranked in Google and other search engines. This won't actually show up on your site.
You want this to reflect the actual title of your website that you created with your site, but also add something to make it a bit more captivating.
Ideal Length: 40-60 characters, keep under 60 - Home Description - This is a description of what your website is about and how it will benefit people. Don't overthink this part, you just want to be descriptive as to what your site is.
Ideal Length: Under 160 characters
Although there are a TON of other settings, you are not going to need to update any of these at the moment, not for SEO purposes.
When you are done updating your Home Page Settings, scroll down to the very bottom of the page and click the "Update Options" button (as shown below).
A few important points things to take note of here about All in One SEO:
- You DO NOT need to "Upgrade to Pro". The free version is more than adequate for your needs.
- You won't see these changes to your actual site. The work is done behind the scenes within your websites HTML code. It is making your code friendly for search engines.
Awesome, your website is all set-up for SEO now! As you build out your new pages/posts, they will automatically be optimized for Google and other search engines.
In the next lesson we are going to be discussing KEYWORDS, the root of all of your rankings and success online.

mind with money so my mind can fill my pockets with money; and be a blessing whatever the Lord place me.
I kind of had a plan before I joined WA and I kind of want to incorporate it after I watch all this training and become a premium member. I have kind of had 5 niche categories picked out even before I joined WA. These 5 categories all kind of relate to each other and I can pick multiple sub-niche's from each category. I want to build a site one by one for each of these sub-niche's and have them link to each other. I kind of already have a brand type name for this whole thing and created social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, and Google +) that can be used by all these sites since they can all kind of relate to each other. What do you think?
I’m a graphic designer/animator at heart. Not the best, not the worst, no bachelor’s, self taught, but I love it. I’m wanting to design my site around helping new online businesses establish their brand identity...logos, logo animations/intro videos, advertisements, and maybe even help with Wordpress sites since we’re learning that here. Pretty much exactly what I will be doing for myself while building my business here lol. And for those wanting to start a business from scratch, I’ll send them here ;)
That’s what I really want to build a business around, but I’m still concerned it’ll be to broad.
I first started at the end of February . Just wanted to let the beginners know to really take their time when going through this training . You will be very happy with your results . I am starting over in the training for i got to excited and rushed through alot of
it.
I am very happy here and plan to learn and help others on their journey here at WA.
Best Wishes For All Here on Their New Journey

Thank you guys so much for this wondeful opportunity, it means a lot..
All the best too everybody thats on WA !
During the process of putting my Niche and Theme/Templet in place I notice that the title for the web page was there, but my theme/templet was not what did I do wrong? I pick it out I thought I put it in place. How do I go about making the correction. I went back through the training, but it looks like I would have to put the title, and website address Title in place again as well did I understand that right if so is there any way around doing it all over again. And where would I find your answer?
Thanks!
How do I continue to lesson 10 and beyond without upgrading, or is this just another false promise with a clever ruse to blackmail people to upgrade?
Please advise, and I sincerely hope that I am wrong about WA because the whole deal seemed so sincere.
Geoff
I followed all the steps in setting a privacy policy page. However, I viewed the site and the page isn't in the home page, but only when I looked for it in the search box. In my privacy page, there is a comment section, even though I set it as a page. Can anyone please tell me what is going on. Thanks in advance.
That said - Can I just build my own Wordpress site there, or do I need to use the SiteRubix in order to use any affiliate marketing stuff? I also own my own domain for my niche.
I have read all content, so I chosen children clothing for my niche. so when I begin driving customers it would be containing to baby clothing. My question is being a single mother of two. divorce and how I had to adjust my life that's really what I want to drive on my page. I want to give advice, share discounts, I don't feel that the chosen name goes with the topic. Is it possible to create a single mother page as well
Question: If I set up a website, build content etc and 5 months down the line I decide to stop my premium membership to WA does that website still belong to me?
How does the legalities work? Must I be a member to run any websites I start and build from within WA?
Thanks in advance for your help

I have just published the privacy policy to my website as a page so no area at the bottom of this was for a comments section, but it appears there is a section at the bottom of this page for commenting?
Can anyone please help and tell me what I have done wrong?
Or could this be because of my chosen website design?
Or does this show due to me being the admin?
Thank you in advance!
Tabitha :)
Please help me.
