How Will YOU Make Money Online?

Great question!

The reality is that there are many ways to make money online! The problem is that people often get distracted by the "latest and greatest" product or service and they are never able to build a successful (and revenue generating) business as a result.

Today I am going to run you through one of the most fundamental, yet powerful processes of generating revenue online.

It is a proven process, it is one that we use, and one that 100,000's of other Wealthy Affiliate members use. It is also the ultimate "making money" process that worked 5 years ago and it is going to work 5 years from now (and beyond). It is a process that will reveal as much opportunity in the massive online world as you are willing to work for!

It is called Affiliate Marketing.

But, just one thing before you get into the MONEY "stuff"...

The making money part of your business won't happen quite yet.

Before you earn money, you are going to first be focusing on creating your niche website (which will take place in the next two lessons) and are working to get traffic to your website. Without a website, without content, and without traffic, the MONEY part simply doesn't happen.

So don't look at this like a race. You will reach success and a great deal of it, but before you build your own personal SKYSCRAPER of a business, you must first have a solid FOUNDATION to build it on. That is going to be our first goal within the Getting Started training. Cool?

Alright, let's continue on! :)

Below is a video walk-through of today's lesson and the process of "How to Make Money Online - The Process Explained". Just click the PLAY button to watch it!

In the coming days you are going to be working through this process and by the end of this Level 1 training alone, you are going to have an awesome foundation in place that will lead you to much greater success.

Task #1: Understand the Make Money Process

There are MANY different ways that you can earn money online and many different ways in which you can build an entire business. The most lucrative and the one that we have been teaching here at Wealthy Affiliate for the past 14 years is Affiliate Marketing.

Below is a diagram outlining the process of making money through affiliate marketing.

There are now over 4.75 BILLION people online as of 2022 (YOUR audience) and these people are going to search engines, social media, or visiting websites for help all the time.

These people are looking for information, solutions to problems and to buy stuff.

That is where you are going to come in with your website and help these "audiences" by offering them information about what they are looking for. You will be "helping" these people, recommending products/services they can benefit from, and you earn affiliate commissions ($$) as a result.

There are over 550 MILLION products/services that you can promote as an affiliate marketer. The opportunity is incredible and it is only growing!

By Lesson 4 of this course you are going to have your very own "niche" website in place that you will use to connect with your chosen audience and make money with. You will have your very own slice of the internet opportunity.

Task #2: Create (Write Down) Your Financial Goals

You want to earn revenue right? That is great! In order to earn anything however, you need to have some goals in place.

In this task we want you to join in on a "money goals" discussion here at Wealthy Affiliate. You are going to be telling us what your goals are and going forward, we are going to be helping you achieve these very goals!

QUESTION #1: How much money would you be happy earning?

QUESTION #2: How much would you be ecstatic (ie, really excited) earning?

QUESTION #3: And how much TIME are you willing to invest to achieve these goals?

PLEASE make 100% sure that you do not skip this step and you revisit this post regularly when you are in need of some motivation. I can absolutely assure you that if you work hard at this and you are persistent towards these goals, you will achieve them. But ultimately it is UP TO YOU!

JOIN DI$CU$$ION: What Are Your "Money" Goals?

In addition to this, it would be wonderful if you commented on someone else's goals they have posted within this thread. Aim to comment on at least TWO people's goals. You likely can network with many other "like minded" people here at Wealthy Affiliate and this is a good way to get your networking efforts rolling. We are a friendly bunch here at WA!

If you have any questions about any aspect of the make money process, feel free to leave them in the comments below.

Awesome, off to the next lesson now where you will be "choosing your niche"!

Hi Kyle,
1. My menu did not appear like yours in the back end, after creating the About me post and the privacy page.
I want into my back end and there was nothing like a menu showing on the menu option (I mean the about me and the Privacy policy)

2. The part of the video where you create the home menu is not the same for my back end the video was recorded a long time before now because the features are different layout from mine.

3. While trying to fix it by myself I end up with two posts "about me" on the web page how do I delete one.

You first need to create a menu then you can add the elements to it and save changes likes the privacy page.

You About me is a post that goes in the blog roll.

Privacy policy is a page which you need to add to your menu and save changes. There may be differences but the functionalities are the same.

You may also check Settings > Reading and see if you have set up your blog to a static page vs your latest posts.

https://www.wpbeginner.com/glossary/static-front-page/

You only need one, so you can delete the other, if you used Site Content you also need to delete the duplicate.

You may have realized by now that to see a menu it is important to first create a "new menu" on the right hand side when in wordpress backoffice appearance -> menu

Once a new menu is created, it must be saved before anything can be added to it from the left hand side of the page. Your privacy policy will show up under "page items" and your about. will show up under "post" add them as items. This will put them on the right hand side under your menu. Make sure to save your menu again and refresh your browser. (CNTL + F5).

To remove an item from the menu click on the carrot and see delete. Save the menu again. and refresh your browser. (CNTL + F5).

Hey guys I have a question .
So I'm a starter and I've completed a few tasks I'm new here .
So I wanted to know whether or not I'll be able to make money on the website I build as a starter or if I won't since the domain won't be mine completely.

There's no definitive answer to your question, as there are many elements to the equation; no two people or two niches are the same; it depends on the focused niche you choose, the content you write, the choice of keywords, and how well you understand the process. However, I have known folks to earn their first sale in two weeks, others in three months, and more so in a few more months.

You may read Kyle’s response on below thread You could remain a Wealthy Affiliate starter indefinitely and your siterubix subdomain remains valid for six months from day signing up to the platform, giving you time to build content.

Also a free siterubix subdomain is limited to 1k visitors per month, which will not be enough to maintain a steady income.

However the learning curve would be steeper as communications with the Wealthy Affiliate platform ceases up in 7 days from time signing up, you will not have access to coaching and sound advice.

Your free website will rank. But it takes a while to build the site and grow traffic. So before thinking about earnings, it is important to decide if you wish to invest time in this free learning opportunity.

Thank everyone for their helpful advice. I understand everything well, Only problem now is I have too many possibilities in my head. lol. So I am going to quickly do a pos/neg on each and if still undecided going to put best choices in hat and draw one so I can move on. Might not be best way just don't wanna get stuck here. Ready to move forward. thanks again everyone.

You are very welcome. Hopefully one of your niches will become clear to you as you do your final selection. Its all about your passion and how you wish to help people.

You need aim for ONE focused niche with a specific group of people, I'd go with what's best resonates with me.

I think of something I am passionate and genuinely interested in, I know lots about and can create succinct original content addressing issue in relation.

For example workout exercises for beginners.

A niche subject is something you are passionate and genuinely interested in could be a hobby or an interest, and know so well you can write plenty original content about.

ONE niche, a website. Products and programs can be varied however all must be relevant to the niche.

When deciding on a niche try narrow it down to a more specific niche, you can ask yourself the following question:

So I want to help people with ____________________ ?

Fill in the blank and you are going to get closer to a specific audience.

I've decided. I'm going to go with my self sabotage for (adult) women with ADHD either newly diagnosed or suspecting they have it. It's the one that's nearest and dearest to my heart and that resonates most with me.

I was reading a book about women and ADHD, and the experiences and feelings went right to my heart and soul. I felt such relief, I knew it was right for me, for my first and primary niche. So it's on to the next lesson. Boy is that a relief.

When it came right down to it, it's what I should do, not what I wanted to do. :)

As long as you connect with your target audience, make them feel at ease, meet them where they are at, can help them with their issues, give them sound advice, and you are likable. This will eventually lead to them trusting you.

All the best to you going forward and thank you for letting us know.
