How Will YOU Make Money Online?

Great question!

The reality is that there are many ways to make money online! The problem is that people often get distracted by the "latest and greatest" product or service and they are never able to build a successful (and revenue generating) business as a result.

Today I am going to run you through one of the most fundamental, yet powerful processes of generating revenue online.

It is a proven process, it is one that we use, and one that 100,000's of other Wealthy Affiliate members use. It is also the ultimate "making money" process that worked 5 years ago and it is going to work 5 years from now (and beyond). It is a process that will reveal as much opportunity in the massive online world as you are willing to work for!

It is called Affiliate Marketing.

But, just one thing before you get into the MONEY "stuff"...

The making money part of your business won't happen quite yet.

Before you earn money, you are going to first be focusing on creating your niche website (which will take place in the next two lessons) and are working to get traffic to your website. Without a website, without content, and without traffic, the MONEY part simply doesn't happen.

So don't look at this like a race. You will reach success and a great deal of it, but before you build your own personal SKYSCRAPER of a business, you must first have a solid FOUNDATION to build it on. That is going to be our first goal within the Getting Started training. Cool?

Alright, let's continue on! :)

Below is a video walk-through of today's lesson and the process of "How to Make Money Online - The Process Explained". Just click the PLAY button to watch it!

In the coming days you are going to be working through this process and by the end of this Level 1 training alone, you are going to have an awesome foundation in place that will lead you to much greater success.

Task #1: Understand the Make Money Process

There are MANY different ways that you can earn money online and many different ways in which you can build an entire business. The most lucrative and the one that we have been teaching here at Wealthy Affiliate for the past 14 years is Affiliate Marketing.

Below is a diagram outlining the process of making money through affiliate marketing.

There are now over 4 BILLION people online as of 2019 (YOUR audience) and these people are going to search engines, social media, or visiting websites for help all the time.

These people are looking for information, solutions to problems and to buy stuff.

That is where you are going to come in with your website and help these "audiences" by offering them information about what they are looking for. You will be "helping" these people, recommending products/services they can benefit from, and you earn affiliate commissions ($$) as a result.

There are over 550 MILLION products/services that you can promote as an affiliate marketer. The opportunity is incredible and it is only growing!

By Lesson 4 of this course you are going to have your very own "niche" website in place that you will use to connect with your chosen audience and make money with. You will have your very own slice of the internet opportunity.

Task #2: Create (Write Down) Your Financial Goals

You want to earn revenue right? That is great! In order to earn anything however, you need to have some goals in place.

In this task we want you to join in on a "money goals" discussion here at Wealthy Affiliate. You are going to be telling us what your goals are and going forward, we are going to be helping you achieve these very goals!

QUESTION #1: How much money would you be happy earning?

QUESTION #2: How much would you be ecstatic (ie, really excited) earning?

QUESTION #3: And how much TIME are you willing to invest to achieve these goals?

PLEASE make 100% sure that you do not skip this step and you revisit this post regularly when you are in need of some motivation. I can absolutely assure you that if you work hard at this and you are persistent towards these goals, you will achieve them. But ultimately it is UP TO YOU!

JOIN DI$CU$ION: What Are Your "Money" Goals?

In addition to this, it would be wonderful if you commented on someone else's goals they have posted within this thread. Aim to comment on at least TWO people's goals. You likely can network with many other "like minded" people here at Wealthy Affiliate and this is a good way to get your networking efforts rolling. We are a friendly bunch here at WA!

If you have any questions about any aspect of the make money process, feel free to leave them in the comments below.

Awesome, off to the next lesson now where you will be "choosing your niche"!

Hi All - Please direct me on something, and confirm what I'm thinking if I'm right.

There is a video in the SiteContent Editor called "How SiteContent Works." One available feature on the Toolbar is a "Lists" option. (The video is 31:27. At 11:31 there is a mention of a few thing about this Lists option, but very little about how to set up main or sub lists, and operate them). Now, some operating questions about the Lists feature.

The owner of the WA website SmellingSunflowers.com has what looks like an operating use of this Lists feature.

The owner has a Table of Contents including 21 main "Budget" headings. Then, there are 100+ sub headings divided between/among the 21.

If you click on any one of the 21 on the main list, the screen quickly scrolls down to the list of specific sub headings that goes with it.

Now here's three questions. Am I right in thinking that the 21/100+ lists are what Kyle is referring to in the 45 or so seconds he's talking about the Lists Feature on the video?

A second question is are there instructions elsewhere in WA training explaining the details of using the Lists feature, and how a website owner would use them?

Third, where would I look within the WA training to get the details on the Lists feature?

Hopefully, this lengthy detail stuff will make it easier for any one who might be able to help. (Maybe this should all go to Kyle).

Thanks very much to all.

Hi - the lists feature in Site Content is for adding bullet points.

If you want a table of contents, where you can jump to a specific subheading, you can use a plugin. Try Table of Contents Plus or Easy Table of Contents.

So once you've chosen your keywords, how are they applied? Am I supposed to write content using these keywords in the same way they appeared in the search? Or are they applied elsewhere? Not really sure where to go from here. Do I just start writing posts? Also, if you are just starting out would you stay away from any review-type articles since you have no affiliate set up to earn from?

hey Davor,

Try to use the keywords just like they appear in search. You want to naturally place them within your post as you write it.

Don't worry about article type, you can always go back and edit a post later and add affiliate links. So, if you want to write a review, go for it.

It will all become more clear as you go through the training, You're doing great, keep moving ahead.

To your success,

Rex

Hi Davor,

You use the keywords in your post (title, first paragraph, somewhere in the body or in the last paragraph). Write naturally and avoid keywords stuffing (adding too many), Google doesn't like that.

Assuming you find keywords in Jaaxy (under Research on left menu) with BOTH of this combination:
AVG > 100
QSR < 50

For example "how to train a dog to sit"
Then you will incorporate that phrase in your title, first paragraph, and then once again near the end of your post.

Title: "3 Easy Steps: How To Train A Dog To Sit" - Always add to the title to make it enticing and reason why people should click on YOUR post on their results page.

First paragraph (within first 160 characters, this is called Meta Description):
"When first getting a new puppy, you will want to learn how to train a dog to sit when he or she is 2 - 4 months old.

I have 3 easy steps below that I'm going to go through with you so you can teach your new puppy...."
In the body of your post: anything you want.

Last section of post somewhere:
"If you have learned how to train your dog to sit, then please comment below and let me know of your results!" - or something else, anything that will bring that keyword back into your article.

Check out this training as well: Hope this helps,

5 Important Aspects To Look Out For:
In order to choose the appropriate Keywords you want for your niche, be sure to generate results of Keywords that make grammatical sense. This means that it flows well enough to be a sentence. For example from my Saved List of Keyword Results: home remedies for kidney disease in dogs, natural treatment in bloating, natural remedy for arthritis would apply. The Avg which is Average Clicks per month should be roughly over 100 Clicks. In terms of Traffic, you want to aim for more than 20.
QSR should be closer to 0, since it is less competitive given the number of websites that were created using that particular set of Keywords.
KQI Color Indicator should be Green.
SEO should be within the range of 90-100.
Domain Category Column should give details on whether a .com, .org, and .net are available for purchase at a Domain SuperMarket like NameCheap.com.

Thank you all for your wonderfully thoughtful responses. It's much appreciated and I hope I can one day return the favor by helping others the way you have helped me. 🙏❤️

Is there a reason why QSR and SEO don't appear unless you click on "Get QSR"? In the video, the search revealed all columns. When I do it, I have to click each result separately. This seems to be a bit of a pain. Am I missing something or has the program changed since the video was created?

Hi Davor,

As premium members, we get Jaaxy Lite where we need to click on the "Get QSR" button. Still, Jaxxy Lite enables us to get unlimited keywords search. That in itself is super helpful.

In the video training, Kyle is using Jaaxy Enterprise. If we want to, we can upgrade but it will cost $99/month.
Jaaxy Lite is sufficient enough to help us with our keywords search.

Hope this helps.

Davor,

Basically, it saves Jaaxy bandwidth and money in the long run. You can upgrade your Jaaxy account like Ferra said, but it's easy enough to deal with while you're just starting out.

You dont have to wait for each one to load. Simply click down the entire column, it takes literally a couple of seconds.

Hi team, I just completed lesson #10 of the starter package, and although I understand the premise of paying it forward and helping others, the goal is to earn an income as well. However, so far, unless I missed it, there has not been any mention of how or where to put my info for receiving commissions. Am I missing something? Please help me understand, ,thanks.

Hi - as you have now built your website, you now need to write lots of articles for it. This is what attracts potential customers. Once you have around 15 articles, you can start applying to affiliate programs such as Amazon. Then you will add links to products and earn a commission if people buy them.

Is level 3 included in the premium upgrade, or is there another upgrade at the end of level 2?

Hi Romtis as you progress forward to level 2 and become a premium member, continue to follow the lessons you will add more content to your site and knowledge on adding more links.

You've got great answers already.

I just want to add why it is a great reason to upgrade to Premium because then you can buy your domain name here at WA and move your siterubix website there following Level 2 Lesson training.
Siterubix is WA's subdomain. With your own domain name, you'll have a better chance to get approved by affiliate programs and promote their products (and after you have a decent amount of quality posts on the website and all of the required legal pages: privacy policy and affiliate disclosure page).

Hope this helps.

Hey, just a question on keywords. So, let's say I'm planning on creating content about guides on how to play every character in a game. Would it make the most sense to start off with the ones that have the best AVG/QSR ratio (best average with the lowest QSR) before writing about those with higher QSR?
Reply
Dale123 Premium
Yeah, that's typically the wisest plan of attack :)
Reply
JoeRebisz Premium
Generally, yes. Once your site has gained authority and lots of traffic, then you play with the higher QSR keywords. For a newer site though, it's best to keep the QSR under 50 if you can.
