How Will YOU Make Money Online?

Great question!

The reality is that there are many ways to make money online! The problem is that people often get distracted by the "latest and greatest" product or service and they are never able to build a successful (and revenue generating) business as a result.

Today I am going to run you through one of the most fundamental, yet powerful processes of generating revenue online.

It is a proven process, it is one that we use, and one that 100,000's of other Wealthy Affiliate members use. It is also the ultimate "making money" process that worked 5 years ago and it is going to work 5 years from now (and beyond). It is a process that will reveal as much opportunity in the massive online world as you are willing to work for!

It is called Affiliate Marketing.

But, just one thing before you get into the MONEY "stuff"...

The making money part of your business won't happen quite yet.

Before you earn money, you are going to first be focusing on creating your niche website (which will take place in the next two lessons) and are working to get traffic to your website. Without a website, without content, and without traffic, the MONEY part simply doesn't happen.

So don't look at this like a race. You will reach success and a great deal of it, but before you build your own personal SKYSCRAPER of a business, you must first have a solid FOUNDATION to build it on. That is going to be our first goal within the Getting Started training. Cool?

Alright, let's continue on! :)

Below is a video walk-through of today's lesson and the process of "How to Make Money Online - The Process Explained". Just click the PLAY button to watch it!

In the coming days you are going to be working through this process and by the end of this Level 1 training alone, you are going to have an awesome foundation in place that will lead you to much greater success.

Task #1: Understand the Make Money Process

There are MANY different ways that you can earn money online and many different ways in which you can build an entire business. The most lucrative and the one that we have been teaching here at Wealthy Affiliate for the past 14 years is Affiliate Marketing.

Below is a diagram outlining the process of making money through affiliate marketing.

There are now over 4 BILLION people online as of 2019 (YOUR audience) and these people are going to search engines, social media, or visiting websites for help all the time.

These people are looking for information, solutions to problems and to buy stuff.

That is where you are going to come in with your website and help these "audiences" by offering them information about what they are looking for. You will be "helping" these people, recommending products/services they can benefit from, and you earn affiliate commissions ($$) as a result.

There are over 550 MILLION products/services that you can promote as an affiliate marketer. The opportunity is incredible and it is only growing!

By Lesson 4 of this course you are going to have your very own "niche" website in place that you will use to connect with your chosen audience and make money with. You will have your very own slice of the internet opportunity.

Task #2: Create (Write Down) Your Financial Goals

You want to earn revenue right? That is great! In order to earn anything however, you need to have some goals in place.

In this task we want you to join in on a "money goals" discussion here at Wealthy Affiliate. You are going to be telling us what your goals are and going forward, we are going to be helping you achieve these very goals!

QUESTION #1: How much money would you be happy earning?

QUESTION #2: How much would you be ecstatic (ie, really excited) earning?

QUESTION #3: And how much TIME are you willing to invest to achieve these goals?

PLEASE make 100% sure that you do not skip this step and you revisit this post regularly when you are in need of some motivation. I can absolutely assure you that if you work hard at this and you are persistent towards these goals, you will achieve them. But ultimately it is UP TO YOU!

JOIN DI$CU$ION: What Are Your "Money" Goals?

In addition to this, it would be wonderful if you commented on someone else's goals they have posted within this thread. Aim to comment on at least TWO people's goals. You likely can network with many other "like minded" people here at Wealthy Affiliate and this is a good way to get your networking efforts rolling. We are a friendly bunch here at WA!

If you have any questions about any aspect of the make money process, feel free to leave them in the comments below.

Awesome, off to the next lesson now where you will be "choosing your niche"!

I really feel very happy for the success is showed here of my partners, if I can call you that, and for the collaboration to the other rookies like me. I have a problem though: When I finished lesson 4 and try add "Home" and "Private Policy" I thought I did that, it doesn't show in the provisional website I am creating following Kyle's instructions, even though Kyle said if those two features are not showing in the website we shouldn't worry about. Problem is I am at the beginning of second phase and all ready purchased my domain name and one of the next steps is move or register the website I don't know if I did something wrong and I am frantically concerned about. Any answer to this is very appreciated,

Go into your Wordpress site. Select Appearance --> Menus (from the left side menu). On the menus page, you will select 'Top Menu' within the Menu Structure. You will see an option (on the left) that reads 'Add Menu Items'. Select the pages you would like to add (Home and Privacy Policy) by checking the boxes. Click 'Add to Menu'. You will see them show up in the Menu Structure. You can click and drag the menus on the page to reorder them if you would like to do so.

I hope this helps.

Thank you JohnDenekar for your response. And yes, I think I have to go back to that lesson you underlined. Have one more question if you don't mind: if I want to show those features I was talking about in my previous post, when I go back to the lesson can I add it like it were never there? Like editing and it will solve the problem? One more thing: Do I have to get the website filled with themes and all those features before moving from .siterubix to .com? Thanks again.

There is so much to learn here. I know a little about making a website but I only am familiar with some of the tech part of this. I am really excited to learn how to make money online. I am all about getting as much knowledge as I can and I am open to all suggestions and feedback.

That is completely fine, just do know that you need to know very little to be very successful within the online world. There are many business models, many ways you can get traffic, many ways you can monetize your traffic, an many different niches.

You just need to have focus on ONE niche, work to become an expert within that following the training here and once you get the formula for success down it is just going to be a matter of scaling (doing more of what you are already doing) to grow your business.

Thank you! I have one niche, and am studying the lessons, taking notes, and doing my best to do this. Your help is the BESTpart.

Like everything you will become more and more proficient with tech as you keep using it. At first it may seem like a lot, but focus on one part at a time and it's not so massive of an undertaking. Trial and error means you're learning something new.

I don't understand the difference between a domain and a website. For example, if I am setting up my own domain, but I'm naming it based off of that niche, how would I go about creating a second website on a totally unrelated niche but still using the domain. There is something I feel like is not clicking for me. Can someone please help me to understand how that works?

A niche a site on a domain. Otherwise you'd confuse Google and your readership.

Hi - you can only have one website on a domain. If you want another website, you need another domain.

So, if your website was about dogs, you would build it on dogs.com. If you then wanted a website about cats, you would build it on cats.com.

You couldn't add your cat website to dogs.com, because it already has a website built on it.

hey hi Bryson & welcome to Wealthy Affiliate Premium!

It's all ok to ask questions to clarify for better understanding and to confirm learning -- and all questions are considered good ones here.

I can see from your WA Profile that you're a learned person with a first degree in Sciences, same here! ... (last century grad! ... lol )

You've got a helpful reply from Diane and hopefully, it's become clearer for you?

Basically, you need to build one niche onto one website as you will be writing quality content for a specific audience with that particular interest.

All the very best to you for every Success, cheerio ... :)

Hi All - Please direct me on something, and confirm what I'm thinking if I'm right.

There is a video in the SiteContent Editor called "How SiteContent Works." One available feature on the Toolbar is a "Lists" option. (The video is 31:27. At 11:31 there is a mention of a few thing about this Lists option, but very little about how to set up main or sub lists, and operate them). Now, some operating questions about the Lists feature.

The owner of the WA website SmellingSunflowers.com has what looks like an operating use of this Lists feature.

The owner has a Table of Contents including 21 main "Budget" headings. Then, there are 100+ sub headings divided between/among the 21.

If you click on any one of the 21 on the main list, the screen quickly scrolls down to the list of specific sub headings that goes with it.

Now here's three questions. Am I right in thinking that the 21/100+ lists are what Kyle is referring to in the 45 or so seconds he's talking about the Lists Feature on the video?

A second question is are there instructions elsewhere in WA training explaining the details of using the Lists feature, and how a website owner would use them?

Third, where would I look within the WA training to get the details on the Lists feature?

Hopefully, this lengthy detail stuff will make it easier for any one who might be able to help. (Maybe this should all go to Kyle).

Thanks very much to all.

Hi - the lists feature in Site Content is for adding bullet points.

If you want a table of contents, where you can jump to a specific subheading, you can use a plugin. Try Table of Contents Plus or Easy Table of Contents.

So once you've chosen your keywords, how are they applied? Am I supposed to write content using these keywords in the same way they appeared in the search? Or are they applied elsewhere? Not really sure where to go from here. Do I just start writing posts? Also, if you are just starting out would you stay away from any review-type articles since you have no affiliate set up to earn from?

hey Davor,

Try to use the keywords just like they appear in search. You want to naturally place them within your post as you write it.

Don't worry about article type, you can always go back and edit a post later and add affiliate links. So, if you want to write a review, go for it.

It will all become more clear as you go through the training, You're doing great, keep moving ahead.

To your success,

Rex

Hi Davor,

You use the keywords in your post (title, first paragraph, somewhere in the body or in the last paragraph). Write naturally and avoid keywords stuffing (adding too many), Google doesn't like that.

Assuming you find keywords in Jaaxy (under Research on left menu) with BOTH of this combination:
AVG > 100
QSR < 50

For example "how to train a dog to sit"
Then you will incorporate that phrase in your title, first paragraph, and then once again near the end of your post.

Title: "3 Easy Steps: How To Train A Dog To Sit" - Always add to the title to make it enticing and reason why people should click on YOUR post on their results page.

First paragraph (within first 160 characters, this is called Meta Description):
"When first getting a new puppy, you will want to learn how to train a dog to sit when he or she is 2 - 4 months old.

I have 3 easy steps below that I'm going to go through with you so you can teach your new puppy...."
In the body of your post: anything you want.

Last section of post somewhere:
"If you have learned how to train your dog to sit, then please comment below and let me know of your results!" - or something else, anything that will bring that keyword back into your article.

Check out this training as well: Hope this helps,
Ferra

5 Important Aspects To Look Out For:
In order to choose the appropriate Keywords you want for your niche, be sure to generate results of Keywords that make grammatical sense. This means that it flows well enough to be a sentence. For example from my Saved List of Keyword Results: home remedies for kidney disease in dogs, natural treatment in bloating, natural remedy for arthritis would apply. The Avg which is Average Clicks per month should be roughly over 100 Clicks. In terms of Traffic, you want to aim for more than 20.
QSR should be closer to 0, since it is less competitive given the number of websites that were created using that particular set of Keywords.
KQI Color Indicator should be Green.
SEO should be within the range of 90-100.
Domain Category Column should give details on whether a .com, .org, and .net are available for purchase at a Domain SuperMarket like NameCheap.com.
