How Will YOU Make Money Online?

Great question!

The reality is that there are many ways to make money online! The problem is that people often get distracted by the "latest and greatest" product or service and they are never able to build a successful (and revenue generating) business as a result.

Today I am going to run you through one of the most fundamental, yet powerful processes of generating revenue online.

It is a proven process, it is one that we use, and one that 100,000's of other Wealthy Affiliate members use. It is also the ultimate "making money" process that worked 5 years ago and it is going to work 5 years from now (and beyond). It is a process that will reveal as much opportunity in the massive online world as you are willing to work for!

It is called Affiliate Marketing.

But, just one thing before you get into the MONEY "stuff"...

The making money part of your business won't happen quite yet.

Before you earn money, you are going to first be focusing on creating your niche website (which will take place in the next two lessons) and are working to get traffic to your website. Without a website, without content, and without traffic, the MONEY part simply doesn't happen.

So don't look at this like a race. You will reach success and a great deal of it, but before you build your own personal SKYSCRAPER of a business, you must first have a solid FOUNDATION to build it on. That is going to be our first goal within the Getting Started training. Cool?

Alright, let's continue on! :)

Below is a video walk-through of today's lesson and the process of "How to Make Money Online - The Process Explained". Just click the PLAY button to watch it!

In the coming days are going to be working through this process and by the end of this Level 1 training alone, you are going to have an awesome foundation in place that will lead you to much greater success.

Task #1: Understand the Make Money Process

There are MANY different ways that you can earn money online and many different ways in which you can build an entire business. The most lucrative and the one that we have been teaching here at Wealthy Affiliate for the past 14 years is Affiliate Marketing.

Below is a diagram outlining the process of making money through affiliate marketing.

There are now over 4 BILLION people online as of 2019 (YOUR audience) and these people are going to search engines, social media, or visiting websites for help all the time.

These people are looking for information, solutions to problems and to buy stuff.

That is where you are going to come in with your website and help these "audiences" by offering them information about what they are looking for. You will be "helping" these people, recommending products/services they can benefit from, and you earn affiliate commissions ($$) as a result.

There are over 550 MILLION products/services that you can promote as an affiliate marketer. The opportunity is incredible and it is only growing!

By Lesson 4 of this course you are going to have your very own "niche" website in place that you will use to connect with your chosen audience and make money with. You will have your very own slice of the internet opportunity.

Task #2: Create (Write Down) Your Financial Goals

You want to earn revenue right? That is great! In order to earn anything however, you need to have some goals in place.

In this task we want you to join in on a "money goals" discussion here at Wealthy Affiliate. You are going to be telling us what your goals are and going forward, we are going to be helping you achieve these very goals!

QUESTION #1: How much money would you be happy earning?

QUESTION #2: How much would you be ecstatic (ie, really excited) earning?

QUESTION #3: And how much TIME are you willing to invest to achieve these goals?

PLEASE make 100% sure that you do not skip this step and you revisit this post regularly when you are in need of some motivation. I can absolutely assure you that if you work hard at this and you are persistent towards these goals, you will achieve them. But ultimately it is UP TO YOU!

JOIN DI$CU$ION: What Are Your "Money" Goals?

In addition to this, it would be wonderful if you commented on someone else's goals they have posted within this thread. Aim to comment on at least TWO people's goals. You likely can network with many other "like minded" people here at Wealthy Affiliate and this is a good way to get your networking efforts rolling. We are a friendly bunch here at WA!

If you have any questions about any aspect of the make money process, feel free to leave them in the comments below.

Awesome, off to the next lesson now where you will be "choosing your niche"!

The possibilities seem endless!
However, why do I feel like it seems to good to be true yet a heck of a lot to do? My mind feels like it's going to explode. Yes everyone has an affiliate program, and I mean everybody. And, there are millions of niches. I get it.
But do you mean to tell me that I'll have to register with multiple companies as an affiliate once I have my multiple niches. Then create websites for said affiliations and niches, manage all of this, and still be able to find time to eat, sleep, and live my best life?
😐Hmmm, does the premium pkg include a PA??
Or perhaps my own little platoon of minions to help me steal the moon😆...
...I mean make all of this happen???
I'm certain the training will simplify things, but at the moment I'm a lil uneasy. Especially since I really can't afford an additional bill right now.

Hi - yes, this is a legitimate program, but it does take a lot of hard work and is a long term commitment.

First of all, as a beginner, I wouldn't recommend having multiple niches. You should only have one niche on a website, and trying to add content to just that one website can be time-consuming in itself. So, in other words, just start with one niche on one website.

You can't apply to affiliate programs until you have built your website, as they will inspect it before they approve you. So, your initial focus will be on building your first website and adding content to it which relates to your chosen niche.

You can stay as a starter member for as long as you like, and are given 2 free websites.

This is all covered in the training, which you should follow step by step and not try and rush ahead.

I'm new as well and I agree there's a lot to think about. But, hey now, take a deep breath and try to slow it down! You can do these lessons one at a time and build your one website based on one niche you've picked out. And you can do that for free. Just take this one step at a time because you have to learn to walk before you can run! I'm sincerely wishing you all the best!

Is there a norm on timing to get through training?

Hi - that's impossible to answer. Everyone learns at a different speed. You might understand it straight away or need to watch the videos more than once.

You might only have an hour per day to spare or 8 hours. It might take you an hour to write each post for your site or a couple of days.

You’re right. It takes time! And a lot of it. But as you go through the trainings you’ll find how to manage your time so that you can run your website and also step away from it for a bit. Regarding affiliate programs, you can join affiliate networks! Those have different programs to almost every niche. All you need is one account and you will be provided wit an affiliate link to the program you’d like to join.

When you’re starting out try not to make too many websites and instead just focus on one. It’ll be a lot easier.

Hello
Am trying to make a Post on my "Member blog " and I added a Tag (from short sentences of the story I want to post) and Clicked "Success post?) And publish and this is what it tells me 👉Please remove any outbound links before publishing your post at Wealthy Affiliate👈

My request is can someone show me how to publish a post?

Hi - The "tag" it asks for is simply a word to describe your post, like a keyword.

You will click "success post" if your post is about your successes here at WA.

I hope that helps clear it up for you.
Good luck, Shannon

There's a great training video that might help with this at training/how-to-create-a-wa-blog-basic-training copy & paste to the search box at the top of your screen. Good luck, Steve C

To join it's free, which makes me a starter member so will I be earning at this point? or do I have to upgrade and pay to be a premium member first in order to earn? what about those who cannot afford to give out that amount of money? or are you using the earnings you making at starter member level and paying for premium with that earnings?

All the training is in the premium membership, and no its not like multi-level marketing..Premium members don't receive payment. Its just what they charge. Hopefully we can help you :)

You can earn at any point, It's up to you. But you will need to do the training, set up a website and write heaps of good quality content. I suggest you follow the training while it's free because most of your questions will be answered here. Jim

You don't just start earning by joining. That said, you have access to some, but not all of the training.

As for earning money, you can do that as a free Starter member. You can set up your own website and promote products and services. You can promote WA and make commissions off of your referrals when they take certain actions or upgrade to Premium.

FYI, as a free Starter member, your commissions from WA referrals is half of what it would be if you were Premium. You can get more information here:

Thank you for another great video, Kyle.
In this video you are working with one keyword, but as for the "Home Page", up to how many keywords is accepted by the search engines? At present I got 10. Is that a total overkill or still acceptable? What is the maximum amount, you would use if you were to start on your first site?

One Post one keyword. Focus on a single keyword and let Google determine if others are appropriate.

Hi - you should use one keyword in each post. Use it in the title of the post, once in the first paragraph, and maybe once or twice more throughout the post if it looks natural and not forced.

Thank you, Diane and Labman, your comments are very helpful! Perhaps, I misunderstood Kyle, when I added keywords for the "Home Page" as opposed to the "About Me" post. As for the "About Me" post, the keyword surely would not be "About Me". In this specific case, can I just add a keyword that relates to my niche and include it in the blurb?

I really appreciate your help :)

My tech lack is showing through. Picking out a website. I get the idea that there is more to picking this out than meets my eye. I suppose you can format this about any way you want. But I am not familiar with the terms to say yeah that is it. The ones I have looked at are different but what I think I need is a multi-paged site but maybe a single page will do. Is there more training somewhere to get this sort of thing clearer?

You can do something with multiple categories, if you want to. However, just health and wellness is too broad. You need to focus on something more specific within health and wellness.

Your website can have a lot of content. Content is what you need to get indexed in Google and also get traffic. But don’t worry! I was stuck in the same place as you’re right now. You just need to follow all of the trainings. The beginner course has over 30+ lessons. Make sure to follow each and every one of them. You can find them on your account dashboard under “trainings” click there and you will be learning everything you need to succeed.
