How Will YOU Make Money Online?

Great question!

The reality is that there are many ways to make money online! The problem is that people often get distracted by the "latest and greatest" product or service and they are never able to build a successful (and revenue generating) business as a result.

Today I am going to run you through one of the most fundamental, yet powerful processes of generating revenue online.

It is a proven process, it is one that we use, and one that 100,000's of other Wealthy Affiliate members use. It is also the ultimate "making money" process that worked 5 years ago and it is going to work 5 years from now (and beyond). It is a process that will reveal as much opportunity in the massive online world as you are willing to work for!

It is called Affiliate Marketing.

But, just one thing before you get into the MONEY "stuff"...

The making money part of your business won't happen quite yet.

Before you earn money, you are going to first be focusing on creating your niche website (which will take place in the next two lessons) and are working to get traffic to your website. Without a website, without content, and without traffic, the MONEY part simply doesn't happen.

So don't look at this like a race. You will reach success and a great deal of it, but before you build your own personal SKYSCRAPER of a business, you must first have a solid FOUNDATION to build it on. That is going to be our first goal within the Getting Started training. Cool?

Alright, let's continue on! :)

Below is a video walk-through of today's lesson and the process of "How to Make Money Online - The Process Explained". Just click the PLAY button to watch it!

In the coming days are going to be working through this process and by the end of this Level 1 training alone, you are going to have an awesome foundation in place that will lead you to much greater success.

Task #1: Understand the Make Money Process

There are MANY different ways that you can earn money online and many different ways in which you can build an entire business. The most lucrative and the one that we have been teaching here at Wealthy Affiliate for the past 14 years is Affiliate Marketing.

Below is a diagram outlining the process of making money through affiliate marketing.

There are now over 4 BILLION people online as of 2019 (YOUR audience) and these people are going to search engines, social media, or visiting websites for help all the time.

These people are looking for information, solutions to problems and to buy stuff.

That is where you are going to come in with your website and help these "audiences" by offering them information about what they are looking for. You will be "helping" these people, recommending products/services they can benefit from, and you earn affiliate commissions ($$) as a result.

There are over 550 MILLION products/services that you can promote as an affiliate marketer. The opportunity is incredible and it is only growing!

By Lesson 4 of this course you are going to have your very own "niche" website in place that you will use to connect with your chosen audience and make money with. You will have your very own slice of the internet opportunity.

Task #2: Create (Write Down) Your Financial Goals

You want to earn revenue right? That is great! In order to earn anything however, you need to have some goals in place.

In this task we want you to join in on a "money goals" discussion here at Wealthy Affiliate. You are going to be telling us what your goals are and going forward, we are going to be helping you achieve these very goals!

QUESTION #1: How much money would you be happy earning?

QUESTION #2: How much would you be ecstatic (ie, really excited) earning?

QUESTION #3: And how much TIME are you willing to invest to achieve these goals?

PLEASE make 100% sure that you do not skip this step and you revisit this post regularly when you are in need of some motivation. I can absolutely assure you that if you work hard at this and you are persistent towards these goals, you will achieve them. But ultimately it is UP TO YOU!

JOIN DI$CU$ION: What Are Your "Money" Goals?

In addition to this, it would be wonderful if you commented on someone else's goals they have posted within this thread. Aim to comment on at least TWO people's goals. You likely can network with many other "like minded" people here at Wealthy Affiliate and this is a good way to get your networking efforts rolling. We are a friendly bunch here at WA!

If you have any questions about any aspect of the make money process, feel free to leave them in the comments below.

Awesome, off to the next lesson now where you will be "choosing your niche"!

Tasks 0/4 completed
2. Understand the "The Process of Earning Money Online" Infographic
3. Join in on this discussion and add your personal "money" goals
4. Comment on at Least TWO People's Goals

Hi there. So I have completed all of the starter lessons. I have just chosen and saved a list of keywords. Now, what is my next step? Getting my wife onboard with paying $50 a month is going to be a hassle, so I need to know what I can do now with the starter membership to possibly have some income rolling in and show her the $50 is worth it. (she doesn't understand the concept of skill value) I am going to finish making my website tomorrow. What do I need to do now to earn revenue? Become an affiliate? Google ads? Are my keywords in place and pushing me towards being ranked and indexed by Google? My niche is video games and accessories. Thanks in advance!

Keep creating content and build that trust and authority with your visitors. Consider adding ad revenue down the line when you have a steady stream of visitors. I can't give away what's in the premium training but there are many ways to monetize your site. Do a little research and see what you come up with.

My only caution is that the training tells you how to go about it properly vs finding info and stabbing in the dark.

Would your wife be more into an annual fee approach? The annual membership is $359 which is significantly less than $50 per month... just a thought.

hi,
Congratulations on selecting your niche.

You need to create posts with keyword-rich content based on your keywords, each article(about 1000 word or more) targeting a specific keyword from the list you have chosen to rank on google search engines.

You can add google ads to your website or become an affiliate in any of the networks in your niche. Hope this helps you.

Wish you good luck, Cheers

Hi dear. Anybody knows if we need a website for each of what we want to promote or can we use a single website for multiple niches.
say shopping, affiliates, meditation, sports ( for example) in one website or should we have single websites for each? I could not find the answer for this question someone did ask in this in the community. Highly appreciated.
Reply
webcash2us Premium
Each one of those are broad niches and should be narrowed down even more. For instance sports is a huge niche and can be narrowed down considerably, there's baseball or football and many others but even baseball is a huge niche.

You might want baseball collectables or baseball equipment or baseball history. The same applies to any other that you mentioned above, add something more to the niche as to pinpoint a narrowed down niche.

Doing this helps eliminate the competition and allows you to get ranked for your niche. You should also make sure which ever you choose you have experience and knowledge as to make it very easy to write content about the subject or talk about very easy.

Here's a blog I wrote about Niche Product Ideas hope it helps.

Your last task for today is to take a second to learn about our Premium membership and how it differs from the Starter program and will show you just why Wealthy Affiliate is the most trusted and respected platform in the affiliate marketing/internet marketing world and as been for the past 14 years.

Should read “and has been for the past 14 years.”

I would like to learn more about earning credits to put toward a premium membership.

I have just recently become a Premium Member. As a free member I had developed a website food-lovers.siterubix.com of which I currently have 3 pages and 315 posts. On August 21st, I invested in a personal website to replace the free site, it is named foodloverrecipes.com. Is there a way that I can convert the files I have on the free site to my new website? If there is a step by step procedure, please direct me. Thank you

Completed the first 9 steps in training as a beginner..... Now what?

I was made to believe one could get going and work towards making money with the website and niche one chosen without upgrading to premium... But without your next training in premium, setting the trafficking chain in place is not available to me....

I do believe this can work, but only if you have the means to upgrade...

Hi Wynand, I do believe that the first 9 lessons are very very basic stuff about online marketing and website building. And I also believe that you CAN build a successful online business with just the free membership. However, it would be extremely tough though without the support and resources you get from the premium membership, and it would probably take you much longer to figure things out by yourself without the community here.

have you explored the first level of bootcamp and the two classrooms open to you.
within these you will gather more information than just in this level.
there is also a massive amount of training created by members which is open to you.
take your time to explore the rest of the site.
don't know what to search for...then use the training titles as guidance.

Hi Wynand,

You can still learn a lot from the 10 free lessons you currently have access to, and you will still have access to your two free websites. So you do have the basic engine to make money.

You will be able to make money with access to the free membership, but it will take you longer because you won't have a road map (lessons) to follow, which is what everyone else is paying for.

You can also use the search bar at the top of the page to get answers, although some answers will only be available for premium members, there's still a lot of answers available for free members that will help you move forward.

You can stay on as a free member for as long as you want.

Anyway, hope that helps.

Best,
Frank

Hi guys I'm just starting to experiment with the keyword research thing, why do I have to manually get QSR for each keyword? Kyle said it's because the keyword has never been searched before, but I tried some really really common words and I still had to manually click get QSR for each one. Is this happening to anyone else?

I feel you on this. I've also wondered why there's no option to make the QSR automatically populate.

Okay, I have a few questions and just need a few things cleared up. I have done some research within this website and been trying to narrow down a niche. so, I went to the Affiliate Programs link on the left to get ideas...I noticed concerts was a button. If you were going to narrow down a niche around that, what would you recommend? A certain type of music? Or a certain band? Just looking for ideas!!!
Reply
siamjerry Premium
Yes, you can choose a certain type like concert for rappers, rockers or something similar. Maybe you can also do it by location or country.

It is actually all depends on your abilities and assets you have(knowledge, information, passion,Interest). Lets make an example here about Music. Say, I am a big fan of only classic music and I am able to collect all the works and information of classical artists, so my Nich Website would particularly be based on whole classic music itself and I provide the information to the visitors trough my website. However,if I may not have full knowledge regarding the all artists, then I will have to narrow it down again and concentrate only on specific artist or topic and create my Nich website and content around that specific topic, artist, band and etc..

As John says. You can have as many products as you like. Each review you do could point to one product or several. Everyone has a different plan. I know successful marketers that write about one product for each review and write 100's if reviews, then other people (including myself) will highlight 5 or more products on each review. All the best. Jim

I am confused about something. We can make 25 websites on the free domain and 25 on the domain if I remember correctly.

So, Building my first website...can it have literally only one product?? Example, dog products. Can I have just ONE product or do I need to have several products? Is each website one product only? If not, how many products do I pick from Amazon for example?????

Thanks.
Reply
SheaSmith Premium
Hi, You can have as many products on one domain/website as you would like. It is generally recommended to focus on one niche (subject) per site. For example, if you build a site about tent camping, you may feature products such as tents, sleeping bags or even books about tent camping. You pick the topic of the website and then create the content (information about tent camping) and feature the products that are relevant to it and that your readers would be interested in. Hope that helps!

One product or 30, it only matters based on how excited you can make your audience get so that they will, go and buy something.

For an Amazon affiliate, one product is all you need to have to get them on the site and ready to buy lots of things.

Learn how your ideal persona shops, then target the item that will be the most irresistible to them so you can promote that one.

Also, learn how to do comparisons between the top 10 items that are your items competition so you can prove over and over again that yours is the best outta the bunch.

Hey everyone ^_^ I'm having a little trouble identifying my niche. I have the domain self-improvement-movement.com and want the site to become more than just me working on it.

To start with I'm in the personal development sector and want to first focus on mastering mindset.
With this will come teaching basic meditation/ guided meditations, positive affirmations, creating habits and planning
Later I want to branch out into nutrition (I'm currently studying nutritional coaching) and yoga (to be taught by someone else)

My question is, is it a good idea to create all this under one self development website?

The plan is not only to affiliate other peoples products, but also create my own; Self Improvement Planner being the first and other online courses too.

Hi ! I just wanted to say I love your chosen domain name!!

I am new to this as well, and had the same issues trying to choose my niche, since I had already purchased domains that I wanted to use.

I do believe it makes it a little tougher only bc now we are having to choose a niche to go with our domain.
So to my understanding, you chose a specific, very narrowed down niche, targeting like teenagers, or kids without both parents or something that is narrowed down sub sub category in order for you to get organic traffic on the search engines. Then later you can expand/evolve into more integrations once more traffic is coming to your site.

Please if this is not correct someone speak up and let us both know...lol

I am still having similar problems narrowing mine down.
Hopefully someone with more experience will help you out, I know several have tried to help me out with advice and support. I hope this helps you some and I do wish you the best.

Best wishes on your great domain name and business. I am all about self-improvement!

Hi Jin,

Nobody will buy anything from YOUR website. How affiliate marketing works:

- Your website acts as a bridge between customers and merchants (vendor selling a product or service).
- You will learn how to build your website in a way that will attract its own visitors from search engine. The training here is very powerful in this way.
- Once you get traffic from Google, you won't need to self promote much. But before that, you will learn to use other ways to promote your site.
- Once your visitors click on your affiliate links on your website, they will be taken to the merchant, when they buy there, you will earn a commission. You will learn everything about this whole process.

The training will show you everything you need to know and you'll see that building this online asset will be crucial in your online success.

Read my post to understand how this business works: Hope this helps,

I don't seem to get the information as explained in training video...

Hope my screen shot below helps to explain my dilema....
I can get QSR by manually clicking "Get QSR" but have to do this for each line, its not automatic as it was in video??
How do I fix this? - help will be greatly appreciated - Sandy
Reply
chender684 Premium
That is correct. With the free version of Jaaxy you have to deo Get QSR for each one you want to see.
Reply
webcash2us Premium
What you have is not the free version as the free version only gives you 30 searches total.

As a premium member you have Jaaxy lite which is unlimited searches, however some of the features of the Jaaxy platform you don't have and each QSR must be clicked separate instead of the whole page just loading like you see in any videos with Kyle.

Kyle is using the Enterprise version of Jaaxy and that is the entire Jaaxy platform he has access to.

But the lite version is great for our needs here, free starter members can get up to 30 free searches with Jaaxy but after that they either upgrade or look elsewhere for a keyword tool.

Premium members automatically receive Jaaxy lite.

Question. Can I do the niche first, I mean finish the certificate, build a website with my own niche to see how it does and then also do the bootcamp?

I would eventually like to promote Wealthy Affiliate and have some sites for my own niche.

For example, finish the training for the certificate, get some websites up and then later do the bootcamp for WA. Or possibly start at least studying the bootcamp section after I finish the certificate?

Thanks!

Hi - well, I assume you have an interest in safety products for babies, otherwise you wouldn't have chosen that niche. It would be difficult to write dozens of articles about a subject you don't care about. So, explain why you want to help people, why you are concerned about babies safety, mention your family to show personal experience etc.

How many menus and where they are located are a function of your theme. Every theme is different depending on what the designer intended.

If you are unfamiliar with WordPress, I strongly recommend you use the same theme as Kyle uses in the video. This way if your site doesn't look exactly like his after you do something, you immediately know something was missed.

WordPress can be challenging at times. Often something as simple as a missed checkbox can create drastically different results. Thus, it's better to go with his until you are comfortable with all of the ins-and-outs of the system, then you can change to a theme that suits you better.

Hi - there is no guarantee that the name you choose for your SiteRubix website will be available as your own .com domain. You can check it now if you wish, you are not committed to buying it.

However, the names don't have to match anyway. You can start with your SiteRubix site, then no matter what .com domain name you choose, it is a simple process to transfer all your work across.

Hey guys. I have a question about a niche I'm considering. I live in South Louisiana - i.e. hurricanes. I put together a website about 4 years ago that astonishingly got lots of traffic. I didn't create it for profit - it was really just to help my friends out. I ended up not renewing the site when the biannual web hosting subscription came due. I was shocked at how many visits it was receiving daily. I think it was several hundred. I'd love to revive the concept but not sure if it can be monetized with affiliate links. The concept is a three month stock pile of food with menus for 3 meals a day using nothing but food storage products (mainly canned goods). These are just everyday, available at the grocery store items - not expensive prepackaged MRE type meals or big emergency supply buckets. It's amazing how many meals you can make with just canned goods. I break each meal down by ingredients and cost per serving. I have a spreadsheet for products needed to purchase. It's great to just be able to go to my pantry and know I can cook for 3 months without going to the grocery store. As you probably know, once a hurricane warning is issued, the grocery store shelves are empty. If I go with this concept, what types of products can I link to that can be profitable? Cooking stoves (when there is no power) and water purification systems are about all I can think of. I don't want to cover all emergency preparations because it seems that market is already saturated. Or maybe that doesn't matter? I don't know much about Amazon Pantry but I can't imagine people would order from there when they can just pick up the products at their local grocery. I'd appreciate your opinions on if this concept seems profitable. Thanks!
Reply
Palatia Premium
Since you are getting traffic, why not add the products in categories you think are saturated? You could be a one stop shop. Some brand loyalty might come into play and your mission statement is amazing. There is that. Don't worry about the competition when you already have a following. :) My 2 cents. Paula
Reply
Ropesa Premium
Just to add to what Palatia has already said, how about monetizing the site with ads? I mean you already have traffic, so why not find companies with good commission rate and let them put ads on your site? Just a thought

Thank you. I wish I would have kept the site. I let it expire about 4 years ago. I'd be starting over. But I have the content.
Reply

Hi Monica,
Since I live in FL I can certainly relate to your niche and I think it's a good one considering hurricanes have hit as far north as NY.

The preparedness products are not bad or saturated, some people just don't want to be bothered having to go out to stores to get all those products.

There are obscure items that you can add to the list if you think about camping; outdoor solar showers, 12v refrigerators, solar charging systems and much more.

These are items I would of loved to have when I lost power for over 3 weeks. Radio's and or portable tv's are a staple for any victims of a hurricane to stay informed and also have them for the entertainment value.

I used an inverter and kept rechargeable batteries on rotation that served for lights and radio, plus I had a small generator that I used to run a fan and my big tv, but of course fuel ran out.

Lucky for me that we shop by the month and stock plenty of canned foods or things would of gone much different. I'm in a rural area so I was able to have a fire to heat anything.

Since you still have the content, I would definitely re-create that site and offer even more things that can help people during the times of a hurricane crisis.

I wish you all the best.

hey guys! I just finished the video and proceeded to publish the privacy policy, but it's not coming up when I go to my website!!!??
it says that it's published, but then when I go and see, it's not there!

Can this be because I published the privacy policy before the

If anyone can help id greatly appreciate it!

Have you published the privacy policy as a page or post? If its a page you will need to add the page into your menu navigation otherwise it will not show anywhere.

Can you access the page by going to the address manually?

If you published the privacy policy as a page. You will have to add it manually to your main heading slots, side widget slot, or footer slots. Do this in the WordPress 'menus' area or widgets. Or 'customise' website option. Just need to play around with thing's. 🤓

The video about building the website talks about the Niche, however, I assume a niche is about a kind of product, not a company, therefore is it a good idea to add various products from different companies, like Zulili used to do or is better one affiliate company per each website.
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
Not exactly. A niche is more the topic that your site will be about. Then you would recommend different affiliate products and services based on that. For example, if your niche was photography, you could recommend equipment, photo tours, etc.

To identify your niche, think about it like this...

What hobbies or interests do you have? What topics are you knowledgeable enough about that you could share with others? What subject have you always wanted to learn, but never had the time (this might just be the excuse you were looking for.)

When selecting a niche, I always recommend going with what you are most passionate about. One tip that has always helped me is to look at it this way:

Pick something that excites you. You are going to be creating a lot of content over time, with very little reward in the beginning months, so what topic (niche) would you enjoy talking about most, even if you weren't getting paid for it?

For instance, my niche is the topic of writing. I am constantly talking about it and helping others with their writing, have done so for years, and up till now never made a dime at it; I just enjoy it and love sharing that passion with others. In other words, I can't imagine NOT talking about writing. The only difference now is that I am sharing it in the form of a blog that I have monetized.

Put some time and thought into this. If you choose something you aren't excited about, you will likely burn out long before you get enough content out there to be successful.

In fact, my litmus test is to think about something that you are so passionate about and talk about so much that sometimes friends and family have to tell you to just shut up... you identify THAT, and you will have found the perfect niche for you :-)

Hope this helped.

Okay, I just went through the Building your own Niche website training session and I have a few questions.

First, I have a very broad niche idea that could easily be broken into smaller niches within that theme and I have so many ideas flowing for that already. Should I build my website based on that broad niche idea, or start small? That will of course help with naming the site.

Second, when it comes to suggesting and marketing items within your niche, would you not have to actually try all the products? How else could you accurately represent and help sell or direct people to buy them? Or am I missing something. Lets say my niche is office chairs for bad backs. I've tested some, and used one or two for quite some time but it's not feasible to buy and try them all. Maybe I'm thinking too far into this right now. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!
Reply
Fredeim88 Premium
It's a good idea to break it down as small as possible. Take bodybuilding as an example. Then you should break it down to for example bodybuilding and growth hormones. From there you can expand to other aspects within the bodybuilding niche. But main thing will be growth hormones.

You find bits and pieces of information on the internet within your niche and put it together in your own words. Take the office chairs for bad backs. Find different sites with information, compare them, then you have enough to work with.

Hope this helps. Wish you all the best for your road to success.

Hello Kyle, so I’ve been reading through these lessons and watching the videos for a little while now and I’m curious as to some things such as why are we learning Seo and keywords and promoting the website before actually having anything in the website to promote and will there be lessons on how to add actual products and things to sell and why wouldn’t we learn that first, it seems a little backwards to me?
Reply
DaisyK78 Premium
Hi
If you actually do the training from the start you will find that you don't learn about promoting the site before you have anything on it. SEO is a plugin your site needs to function, and Keywords you will find, are what will make your content successful and ranked in Google.
Nearly every lesson requires you to produce content.
By the end of the first lot of training, you will have quite a lot on your website, you will be surprised.
There is absolutely nothing backwards about WA's training.
Some people just approach it backwards instead of starting at the beginning and following it step by step.

Here is some inspiration for you All the best

Hi,
As I write this I have just completed Module 2 but decided to go back to the beginning and refresh my memory as I am a little concerned about publishing my website when, for me, when it is in the early stages of the build.

I saw your post which sort of asked the questions running around in my head so what I’d like to clarify is when you click the publish button after your About ME page, is it LIVE on the web?

I’ve spent a lot of time getting this and my first post exactly how I want it and am slightly concerned people are reading something that makes no sense to them and which they avoid as a consequence!

Thanks

Hi Everyone,
I am new here and really loving the content, but i have a question for you all.
I did start a website about a year ago and posted some content and did start to get some traffic. The niche is the carnivore diet, AKA zero carb diet. I used it to cure a few health issues i had, and i really understand a lot around the subject.
I would love to continue using that site and that niche as i have a real passion for it as it has helped me tremendously. But i am worried that there will be no products or services for it that i can sell.

What are peoples thoughts on this? Is this something that is worth following?

Thanks :-)

MrJimish, develop an email list using aweber or getresponse, or you can start with a free mailchimp email account. get opt-ins, you can then sell these "carnivore diet" people anything, it does not need to be limited to the carnivore diet. Basically, any niche that can generate "traffic" for you can make you money, even if that particular niche doesn't. so long as you offer a free "ebook" for the carnivore diet (just get open office dot org and use their odt writer "like ms word", then "export as pdf". open office is 100% free, so that is how you would create the free pdf to upsell to people to get them opt-in to your email list)>

Both aweber getresponse and mailchimp services have customer support, contact them and they will be happy to instruct you how to implement on your website.

Basically, what you want to do is join "google analytics" and implement it on your website, you may then acquire "demographic information" for your website visitors.

For example, if they are mostly men aged between 30-65 and probably very unfit due to the fact they are looking for a diet. and if they are looking for a "carnivore diet" they are probably fairly wealthy as they can afford protein each night. That may be your demographic "rich, overweight 30-65 year old men".

You can then use your email list to upsell any services and/or products in literally any niche that a "rich, 30-65 year old man" may desire.

Get the drift? Once you have access to a website that acquires traffic, simply work out your demographic, opt-in people to an automated email autoresponder (like aweber, getresponse or mailchimp) and use the "free ebook" as the bait to capture their emails.

Once you have a website visitors email, you literally have them for life for free marketing 24/7 until they unsubsribe from your email list.

This can actually multiply your website earning by several times more money.

The reason is that generally, website visitors come to your website for information, once they acquire this information, they leave your website, normally within a minute or so and never return.

However if you capture most of your website visitors emails, you can develop a relationship with them over time through unlimited free automated email sequence.

You will literally retain that "traffic" for life (if you look after those people and they do not unsubscribe.

Then you are free to establish a relationship with these people, then "recommend" products and/or services to them over time. It does not have to be limited to a carnivore diet niche. it is only limited by your intelligence and marketing saavy of marketing to that particular demographic.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to private message me, cheers.

(See by having an email list, you remarket and retain that traffic for life, whereas normal newbie webmasters don't have email lists and lose that quality traffic, not knowing any better!).

Nah, use your site as carnivore if it is getting traffic, then use email list to introduce them to the superior keto aff program :) see? easy, also look into paleo diet i think and go to clickbank and find that "truth about abs" affiliate offer, just join clickbank and go to health section of marketplace, then sort results by "popularity" or "gravity" those two sorting will find you the top performing affiliate programs, then grab your "hop links" (affiliate links) from clickbank and implement for email list. also do not put any affiliate links on your websiotes, always use only email list to refer customer to affiliate programs... and your ebook can also have affiliate links...

but dont put affiliate links on your websites. Sometimes google etc changes their algorithms and bans sites based on the affiliate link ratio and/or bad affiliate links.

for example, you could put an affiliate link on your website across hundreds of pages in the future, then one day google might turn around and decide it doesn't like that affiliate link and ban your entire website... but if you use an email list to deliver your affiliate links, you will hide them from search engines and ensure your website continue to receive traffic?

I'm smart aren't i? hehe.... 20+ years experience hope helps MrJimish :) HEHE>

Yo pay close attention to when kyle teaches you about jaaxy and high traffic, low "qsr" keywords... this is your gold, the more research you do on jaaxy the better the reults you get...

Yo, in the start target keywords below 50qsr for best results... if they have traffic... target them... you will maximise your profits then if you use jaaxy well.... it's in the OEC training... not sure which level. cheers.

Am I correct in assuming that the niche I select should have affiliate possibilities to sell? If so, shouldn't I know what options are available before I try to decide on a niche? If I'm understanding the concept correctly (and maybe I'm not), the purpose is NOT to sell something I make (a craft) or a service (like a menu for restaurant). The purpose is to write about something that can have related/relevant affiliate links that encourage a visitor to click on the link and thus I get a commission? I'm stuck on making sure my niche has items to encourage people to purchase. For example, a website on making bread (not one I'm actually considering), could link to all items needed to make, store, sell, eat bread. The niche I'm actually considering doesn't seem to have items associated with it to sell. Other niches I'm considering may have them, but shouldn't I contact the sellers of such items to see if there is a commission system in place. I'm sorry if this is confusing and I've totally missed the boat.

merlynmac Premium
Yes and no. Virtually all niches have some sort of product or service that can be sold. That said, it's not a bad idea to look for affiliate programs that relate to your niche.

Try running a google search for your niche, a product or service related to your niche as follows:

Item product or service affiliate

Or

Item product or service partner

Example:
DJI Affiliate

Hi Monica,
Ideally you want a niche that can really help someone more so than one that is trying to get people to buy something. When you project a site that is full of helpful information over one that is trying to sell products you will have visitors that have more trust in buying from your site.

You want to select a niche that you have first hand knowledge of, something that you can easily talk about and something that can potentially help others. You don't want a niche to be too broad in scope as the competition would be fierce.

For instance, "pets' or "Dogs" would be broad, but maybe dog kennels or dog leashes and collars would be a narrowed down selection.

The idea is to pinpoint the niche so you have a target audience that you can reach and not have to compete as hard with the big companies that sell those same items.

I don't know what niche your considering but I've yet to hear of one that doesn't have products that you can promote on your site. I wrote a blog about that might help you and I also did a training on that might help you in deciding which type of affiliate platform you want to join.
Hope this helps.

Hi Monica,

I just joined WA not long and still under the starter program. I went through your profile and I did notice you have a background in Hazard Mitigation for 30-years.

I am an engineering manager that deals a lot on safety so when it comes to performing electrical, mechanical and plumbing works, it is quite hard to market this type of niche through an affiliate program.

But I know we can breakdown the safety component into a smaller segment in order to find an affiliate program relating to the topic that we are trying to market as an affiliation program.

I can think of hazard mitigation as an answer to people who needs to know how to resolve a problem. In like of this, are tools, books, training program and software that helps hazard mitigation problem to resolve easier.

As for safety, I would probably think along with safety helmet, safety boots and maybe safety checklist in a software that helps an engineer to perform safety inspection task done better.

Hope it helps,

John.

Hi WA friends,
I have a few questions to fire away at last! OK, this could be a long one, so thanks for all those reading! I have launched my first website that is most related to my uni work, 3D Modelling for Students (i'm still second guessing myself on this one, i am a 3D animation student, and my confidence is a bit shaky with my work) So, i will be working on this website slowly over time as it can take a while to make models. However i was thinking about launching a few more websites and would like to hear your guys opinion on how to grow/ flesh out these ideas! So, i'm working part time as a waiter in a family and the boss has never been too bothered with online side of stuff, our restaurant does quite well doing things the old way, just receiving calls from people who have our number, i was wondering if i could maybe do something online with it? They wont be very much keen on the idea of taking orders online, but we have had a lot of customers wanting to have a menu online (even though we have handout menus in the restaurant, but i understand the appeal for online menu) so i was wondering if i could make a website based around the restaurant, have a menu posted and other details whatnot, because i reckon we would get a decent amount of traffic from locals or tourist or people visiting the town, (can get very busy when football games are on), So was wanted to hear some opinions on this! I also have been managing a very small time website for it already, google business, but only really has opening business hours and a few pictures that customers have posted, as well as a very nice 220 reviews ( overall 4.4 stars, very proud of our wee restaurant! Ofc its classic Chinese restaurant too haha)

Many thanks to those reading, and looking forward to hearing your responses! Thanks WA family,

Callum :)

You have hosting here at WA and WordPress makes site design pretty easy. I say create that website. You don't have to take orders online but you can certainly add it, maybe have the orders emailed in or texted to a "company" phone, etc.

Check out various themes and see if one strikes you. If you have a design in mind, try a page builder and create it yourself.

I thinks it's a great idea.

Thanks for your time! This is just the push a needed to go full blown and smash this website, because i feel the customers are lacking some info when it comes to ordering, not just items on the menu, and I have always wanted to help bring in specials to the restaurants( valentines day, etc.), and add a calendar for said when the restaurants is shut ( we never really shut to be honest , not even Chinese new year, more for when we need to fix things) Hoping to hear more from the rest of the WA community!

Many thanks,

Hi WA family.
I have been stuck on deciding my niche for a couple reasons.
I have domains already that I am trying to use and I am finding it harder than it should be to narrow down a niche. I was hoping someone could possibly help me with my few choices?

The few domains I have already are:

1. Feedmelean.com
So here I was thinking about possibly lean recipes or
supplements or even some sort of exercise to help stay lean??

2. Dancinpants.com

I love to dance I am a personal trainer and group instructor
teaching everything from step, yoga, kickboxing, water
aerobics, pilates, hiphop dance. I plan on creating workouts
for instructors that have been choreographed with music and
it would involve dance and stretching as an exercise, so I'm
struggling with that choice of a niche? Another niche I
thought would go well with that domain is, women searching
for dancing pants, or possibly exercise routines?? Heck ,I am
driving myself crazy trying to figure out my niche.

3. Blessedcrest.com

Was going to be used for faith things such as quotes or gifts.
So was not sure how to possibly use that domain??
Any ideas are greatly appreciated!!

4. Zzezy.com

With this domain I wanted to teach certain things I know and
make it very easy.

5. Zapthatfat.com

With this domain, I actually have a website that is NOT making
any money for me because I do not understand how to put my
own ads and/or blogs on it. So with this domain I was not sure
really what to do with it?/ . I was hoping to learn those things
here at WA, so that I could get that website getting traffic.
Was wondering if I should tailor my WA website with the same
type of content?

Thank you all for even reading this, because I do know how much our time is precious and seems to fly by. If anyone can help out with suggestions/ideas or advise, I would so much appreciate it!!

Thank You,

LeesaJ

You will probably go through the training with one and eventually (hopefully a year or more down the road) work on another, so don't feel like this is a one time decision. It is smart to stick with one until it is up and running well, but many people end up running multiple sites.

If you intend to run multiple sites eventually then pick the easiest one to work on first. Make sure you pick one that you don't mind working on every day for years. You don't want to get bored or run out of content ideas. It also helps to do keyword research to make sure there are topics in that niche that have a decent amount of searches. I did a ton of keyword research to make sure my niche would work. I made sure there was enough interest and low competition for at least some of my post ideas.

After you get up and running and making money successfully on the first one you can eventually go back and pick up another but don't rush it. Many people spin their wheels trying to do too many at once while learning and making the same mistakes on all the sites.

You can chalk out good amalgamations of different recipes for the calorie-conscious, suggest exercises and supplements tuck in that tummy and get lean.

Is it better to have a different keyword for each post on your site; or, would it be better to use the same keyword for a few posts so that when people visit to see one post they may explore the others that are closely related ?? I can make arguments in my head for both sides so thought I would ask. Thanks!

Hi Heidi - choose one lot of good low hanging fruit keywords per post. Use them in the title and first paragraph (and some say in one paragraph heading) only then write your post around that.

Then choose new keywords for your next post etc.

Hope this helps

Paul
Reply
nathaniell Premium
The rule is one keyword per post.

"Keywords" are basically the main idea for each of your article. If my keyword is "crazy pizza toppings", then the title of my article could be "Ten Crazy Pizza Toppings You've Never Heard Of", and my article will be about those crazy toppings.

Once you've chosen a few keywords, here's how you incorporate them into your website. Each article on your site should focus on one keyword.

If you had the same keyword multiple times, then you'd just be talking about the same topic over and over again.

However, you can alter the meaning of a keyword, essentially transforming it into a new keyword by adding words to it.

For example:

How To Walk A Dog In The Park
How To Walk A Dog In The Park During Icy Months

Those contain the same core keyword, but are about different topics, so essentially different keywords. The main idea is capturing the "intent" of what you're writing about.

Let me know if you have any follow up questions about this Heidi!

Hi Alexandra, the training is easy to understand, but the implementation of it takes time, as it does to see results. I always tell people to give it 6 months (and work during those months) to see results.

Affiliate marketing, like any legit business is not a get rich quick scheme, but the way WA is designed, it will work for anyone who truly uses it the way it's instructed, like it did for me.

boah, I have used past week by reading and studying the basics of affiliate marketing and figured out a bunch of good ideas about what my niche and/or website(s) could be. still, I haven't launched even my very first website! my question is; I have three affiliate platforms + amazon where I'm looking to. If my site would be about competitive gaming or about free2play games and strategies, do you think better strategy to be to promote one thing like gaming mouses or keyboards OR multiple things like keyboards+mouses+promoting fortnite coaches? And is it forbidden to promote products of multiple affiliate platforms in one post? I have read terms of use of CJ and adverse but can't figure it out. However it would be time to launch my site, traffic and audience are needed anyway!
Reply
DianeScorpio Premium
Hi - it is better to start with a narrow niche so as to not confuse your visitors and aim for a specific audience. Plus, you need to be seen as an authority on your subject and have less competition.

For example, if I was looking for keyboard reviews, but half your articles were about Fortnite which I am not interested in, then I would soon leave, then you have lost a potential customer.

You can join as many affiliate programs as you wish. and use them in one post. Be aware, they will inspect your website first, so make sure to have as much content on as possible before you apply, to ensure they approve you.

Don't go overboard with your affiliate links, it is recommended just 1 for every 500 words. So, if you have written a review of 1500 words, just have 3 links in it. Otherwise, Google will see your website as a "spammy" selling site and not rank you highly.

ok *forgets the idea of fortnite *. Jokes aside, thanks for tips and advice, I will keep it simple enough and focus on specific topics. I guess I will start by two websites about topics I'm familiar with, keep getting more audience and apply for those affiliate programs after I'm confident enough it's going to work.

There has been no better time in our history for people like you and me to be able to communicate around the world.

Instead of having a little corner store in your neighborhood now you can literally market your products to the world.

1oo years ago, not so long really. Kings and Queens would have paid anything to have the information we now have at our fingertips.

Please, I just upgraded my account on July 3rd of this year. I have done marketing before and made money by myself. Now I have thousands of people that I can ask questions to.

I can have people check my website and give me advice. You can do this, my friend. Do not quit at all I hope, but at least give it some time to see if it is good for you.

You will never be able to build a business for this little bit of money? NEVER! Where? This is it, this is our golden opportunity.
Grab it with both hands and hang on.

I will see you at the top!

I think I know the answer to this, but because the way the training is structured, just want to make sure.

If my keywords meet the under 100 QSR, but have thousands of searches, I assume those are the keywords I want to use?

The training says on average 30, don't know if there is a point to that, I would think that you would want thousands of searches.

Thanks!
Reply

If you find a keyword with under 100 QSR and thousands of searches, that is the ultimate jackpot of keyword research!

However, the common routine is to find low-competition keywords (which naturally have less traffic) and build up your website, one article after another.

One article alone won't make your website traffic explode... But ranking with dozens (or possibly hundreds) of articles, this builds up over time with each article bringing you more and more traffic.

Moreover, the more you start to rank for these keywords, you'll also attract more traffic from other, related keywords.

It has a compounding effect, which takes time. But it all starts with this keyword research, and going for what is also called "low hanging fruit".

Hope this helps.

If someone goes to say Amazon from the affiliate link on my website and they want to buy something (not the item that was on my website's link) that they can subscribe to, do I only get credit for the item that was on my link or whatever else they bought?
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
You get credit for anything the reader purchases -- not just your specific product -- as long as it is within the 24-hour cookie window that Amazon assigns to your link and they don't click on another affiliate's link in that time frame.

Hi Elizabeth,
You can change themes by signing into your site through site manager and clicking on Appearance and then Themes. Once in Themes up top click on New and find any theme you want to try out and install that theme, once installed you need to activate.

Each theme will make your site look different and once you find the one you like you want to go back into your themes area and delete any themes you have installed but are no longer using.

Every theme will look different and the default theme for WordPress is the 2019 theme. If you have any other questions or need more help just ask and we will help you.

The Blogging is about attracting traffic to sell your affiliate products on your site. It is a free way to attract traffic, and you need traffic to buy stuff.
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
You don't "have" to blog to be an affiliate marketer. However, what you do have to have is a way to attract traffic. You can have all the links in the world, but if there is no one there to see them you still won't make a dime.

Blogging is a proven method of attracting traffic without spending thousands of dollars on advertising. People are constantly searching Google for information and answers to their questions. You are simply providing those answers. In return, you may have a product or service that would be helpful to that person, so you make a recommendation and add a link. When they make a purchase, you get paid.

I did see a post about getting rankings using YouTube videos related to your product.

I recommend you write at least a little. That’s how you gain traffic.

But if that’s not your area, maybe you can make videos based on what your niche is. Apparently Google indexing loves videos and it’s easier to get ranked

Hello from Nottingham!

So, have you actually applied to join the affiliate programme you want to use, and been approved? Or are you saying you can't find an affiliate program to match your niche?

If you have joined the program, it would be surprising that they don't have the links you need to add to your website. That is how they recognise that customers have come through your website, as they will have your ID embedded in them.
Reply
webcash2us Premium
Hi Tina,
There's many programs you can apply for and some will turn you down while others will let you have a chance to promote their products, but you only need one or two really.

Many of these programs deny people because of lack of experience and either no website or a site that has no traffic.
When you do find a program you will want to only have a few affiliate links on your page or post so as not to be marked as an affiliate spam site by the search engines.

I created a training about the different types of affiliate programs and you can check it out and Google any of them to sign up or you can select one from WA and try to sign up to any of them. Hope this helps.
Reply
On the off chance that your niche does not have a direct affiliate site, you can still become an affiliate to indirect websites. The example in the video is a pretty good one where the party football hats link up to Amazon. You can follow the concept. For example, if you want to make a cat website:
1) Well, it's not like you can get a kickback from selling someone a cat online.
2) Let's go indirect. Become an Amazon Affiliate and have a link to a scratching post that you really like.
3) After that. Think about a subject around cats. Do you want to extend the life of your cat? Perhaps there is someone who has an E-book on elderly cat care.

you first went to the snack helmets and showed the dallas cowboys and showed the rest of the pro teams. do you get a comission for any team? and then you went to body building products so you get a comission can you go to any web site that you can think of even tho it has nothing to do with any of the training products
Reply

These are examples of niches. You can create a site around any niche you choose. The choices are pretty much unlimited.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Yes, those would all be affiliate links. So regardless as to what someone purchased, you would get credit.

If someone goes to Amazon as well through your website, you get credit for anything in their shopping cart as long as they buy within 24 hours of clicking your links.

I have sold some really strange things over the years in my shopping cart. lol

it is related to his niche.
so if your niche is helping people improve their golf swing then your website could be any name...even your own, but could contain a keyword.
the content will define your site and niche rather than the site or domain name.

It's not so important any more. In the "old" days of the internet sites that had long niche related domains were seen as a good thing, but that started to lead to ridiculous site addresses such as "TheBestAndCheapestPlaceOnEarthToBuyMotorcyclesBakingPansAndSunglasses.com" As you can tell, it got out of hand quickly. lol

Google and the rest of the search engines are MUCH more sophisticated now and sites like that no longer have an advantage. Indeed, they may even be penalized depending on the circumstances.

You basically have two choices.

1) Make it somewhat related, but only to the extent your potential audience has a rough idea of what it is (e.g. GreatPhotography.com).

2) Come up with a domain name that has nothing to do with anything, but is unique can can eventually be branded. For example, before they came along, did you even know what a "Google" was?

Hope this helps :-)

So I'm in the early stages of developing my niche site currently and it dawned on me that there was something in the first training module that stood out. Specifically where it was stated that it was better to build your site using posts instead of pages.. Now I can't seem to find this anywhere when I go back to look for it.(i might just be crazy) Could someone maybe shed some light on this for me? Should I be creating my content as posts instead of pages and why?
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
That is correct. Think of pages as something that you don't intend on changing very often, if ever. Thus, common pages would be About, Privacy, Resources, etc.

But for the best results in ongoing content you will want them to be posts so your home page displays all the most recent and relevant content that your readers may be interested in. In other words, the content is more dynamic and changes often (which is a good thing).

Hope this helps :-)

Hello,
On your training video "Creating Custom Menus on Your Website" you discuss widgets. And you show how to add a widget. What was not discussed is how to remove the "about me" and other top level items from the bottom of the new widget as they are redundant. Can you help. What about adding an actual page? (If not covered later in the training) Any help appreciated.

Hi Chett,
You can remove menu items by signing into your site and on the left select Appearance and then Menu, once in Menu you will select the items from any Menu and remove or add as needed.

This will remove any page from a menu, but the page will still exist on your site.

If you want the page gone as well, than after you remove the page off of the menu, you will need to go to pages and hover over the title to reveal options, in the options you would select Trash to discard the page all together.

csalzman Premium
Thanks for the response. What I have in that location are only the top navigation items, not the new widget I created on the right of my webpage. I created a widget (seems to be a disconnect in my way of look at this between menu item and widget) This widget is on the right navigation menu called "Cool Stuff for Kids" and the "About Me" and "Privacy Policy" is under that which is what I want removed. Kyle did not go into specifics yet in his training course. Any help appreciated.
Reply
webcash2us Premium
That's sounds like a side widget you created. Go into Appearance and click on Widgets and look for the side Widget and find the items you want removed and delete them. If you don't find them there then they would be in the Menu area under Appearance. When you find the one you want removed click on the item as so it opens and there you should see the delete option.

Thanks.

What's weird is that those duplicated items are not listed in the widgets area under the widget I created or in the menus. Actually in the menus area that widget is not even there just the top navigation items.

Hi guys!, this will be my 1st time & 1st website so
I decided my niche to be somewhere around gaming reviews, gaming computers, computer parts & accessories also along with it on the side some mobile gaming, mobile phones and accessories. Are they too much for my 1st website? should I only for now focus say gaming reviews? or mobile gaming?
Reply
DianeScorpio Premium
Hi - yes, you have chosen far too many subjects, targeting different audiences. You need to narrow it down, so as not to confuse your visitors, plus you wish to be seen as an authority in your niche.
Reply
webcash2us Premium
The niche is over all too broad, I would narrow it down to which ever you like the most as you will be creating a lot of content for that site.

Most generally a review site is great for a niche site and you should play the games you review. On that gaming review site you could do a review of two gaming computers aside from the reviews of the games.

You just don't want a site that's all over the place, you won't have that many affiliate links on the site to be able to offer everything you have listed.

That's considered an affiliate spam site in every search engine. Stick to 2 or 3 affiliate links at most and make certain they are relevant to the subject of the page or post and you should be okay.
Reply

I would focus on one thing. I did on line jobs for students. Org and have afree nitches in there. It will probably take longer to get your business going. Maybe start with Mobile phones writing reviews, comparing and. After you get going with your phones you could show an advertisement (banner for a game than when someone clicks on it it could take then to awhole page on gaming which is a landing page then when they see something they like and click on it it will take them to where they can buy it. Reviews really help.

I would stay a review with the Note 9 Comparing it to S10 then at the end they could click on to buy either one

When I think of affiliate marketing, I was imagining a blog for my interest in home goods/decor (physical products). However, I've also always wanted to start a blog on mental health and write advice posts and ideas. I don't see how affiliate marketing can play a role in this sort of blog. Am I correct to assume affiliate marketing only applies to blogs related to physical products?

Affiliate marketing is the process of promoting other peoples products/services (whether they be digital or physical) in return for commissions.

Yes, I guess it does relate to physical products.
So what kind of products would you think could help someone with mental health?
eg. Relaxation - has a huge range of products.

I would start with one niche at a time, and choose the one that you are most passionate about.

Once you have one niche (website) up and running how you want, then you can make another one.

In the video, you show that a comment window shows up at the end of the privacy policy statement, but in your written explanation you state that we choose a page format as opposed to a post format for privacy policies because that format doesn't allow for comments. This is a little confusing because if the Page format doesn't allow for comments then it shouldn't even provide a comment box at all.
Reply
webcash2us Premium
Do not worry about the comment box on any privacy page. No one ever leaves comments on a privacy page and even if they did all comments must get your approval before allowing the comment to be published, so it's not a big deal.

You can turn off allowing comments on any page, but if you leave that feature on it really doesn't matter.

You should publish your privacy policy as a page, not as a post, the same applies to your Affiliate Disclosure.

I also publish my About as a page and not a post because as a page these 3 can be added to any menu you create.

Hope this helps.

Hello again! As a starter member, you are given 2 websites to work on for up to 6 months. However, they will end with the name SiteRubix.com. They are known as subdomains and are not actually your property.

If you want a domain that just ends in .com, which is globally recognised and looks more authoritative, then you have to pay for it. This costs around $13.99 per year, but is yours to keep, even if you decide to leave WA.

Also, bear in mind, you need to upgrade to premium to have a purchased domain hosted here.

As a beginner, I suggest you just start with using a free site.

Looking for help choosing the best niche! I'm a stay at home mom and home schooling our two children. I love to cook, so I was thinking about going in that direction, though very broad. I also thought I might tie in home school things, but the two don't really mesh well. Any advice?
Reply

They sound like two good niches. With the home schooling could you access training schemes where you get paid a commission. If so this one sounds great. Cooking is a bit more difficult and you would have to be more specific. For example something like "Southern Recipes" or "Home cooking in the USA" etc., Jim

Hi there! It could have been me writing message 🙂
If you’re going to go homeschooling, perhaps go with a specific age group or method. With homeschooling the possibilities are endless from offering printable‘s to curriculums and more how to’s. I started a local play date homeschool group as there are many homeschoolers in my area but nothing social for the kids To interact with each other.

In regards to cooking, do you have a specific interest? For example my daughter is an extremely picky eater but we are also gluten-free so I’ve had a hard time finding sources of inspiration that applies to us specifically 🙂

Good luck brainstorming 👍🏼

Hi Heidi,

You don't want to mix niches, those are indeed two niches you can go into.

You also want to start with only one niche.

Cooking niche will be way a way better niche to go into than homeschooling because there are way more people in a cooking niche.

But Jim (JKulk1) said above, if you can find a home schooling program where you can earn a commission from getting people to sign up for, this can be a viable niche as well.

If you do cooking, you do need to narrow down your niche like "vegan cooking" or "cooking for beginners" or something more specific.

You need to start narrow, but you don't need to stay narrow.

You want to start narrow so you can break into that niche easier and focus your efforts into helping a specific group of people.

Then, as your site grows and gains more authority, you can then branch out more into different areas of cooking you want to expand on.

I hope this helps you,
Grace

Do keyword searches in your Google search engine task bar in those 2 fields. And read up on each one individually!!

How abiut teaching kids how to cook. Could that be a niche?

Yes indeed that could be a niche Evelyn. :)

I think home schooling would be a very good one alone. You can do two different ones to have multiple sources out there. One for home schooling and one for the type of cooking you like to do.

Most people stick themselves in a box afraid to come out in the world. They have fear of being unsuccessful and some have the fear of success. they ask themselves what happens if I can not do this? I have found that making a dream board helps. A dreamboard is just a list or few pictures you put on your wall where you will see it everyday. You can add or subtract from this list at any time but it helps you to keep reaching for those goals. No one has to do this but I use it and it helps me stay motivated. So the idea is here, anyone is more than welcome to try it. If you do I would be really interested in knowing how it worked for you. Good luck in you journeys.

I have not been able to specify my niche. I want to achieve a niche that has to do with the elderly. Specifically that they can use social networks and the computer/smartpgone to communicate with their families, with their friends and in general with the world around them, in order to improve their life. My ideal client would be everyone between 65 and 100 years old. I need help in this approach.

That may be a tough niche as there's many social platforms that already allow anyone of any age to communicate with anyone.

In fact AARP often has articles in their newsletter and magazine that relate to that subject as does the official AARP phone service that is Consumer Cellular.

You can maybe do a how to blog teaching the elderly how to do certain tasks that their phones and computers allow them to do.

You could maybe find hidden benefits that are available for people over 65 but you will need to be Country specific as every Country has their own rules and laws regarding people over 65 years old.

well the domains socialmediafortheover60s and socialmediafortheover70s are still available - so if you wanted to do something with them.
but how do you get the over 60s and over 70s online if they are not already?
it would be an interesting niche to see if it would work.
good luck with it.

Ooooo I love this!
I just read an article that an underserved market is baby boomer and older in real estate. The article was saying they are the perfect tenants for reasons the writer discusses yet landlords don’t think to market to them.

A lot of that population want to learn the tech but it can be really overwhelming (experience with my own family)

Maybe having suuuper easy to understand how to videos ? Or Skype/FaceTime type of set up where they get virtual training?

Let us know what you start coming up with

@Nextgensahm I think you are right about how difficult it can be to teach technology to the elderly (I am an old man of 80). With regard to using videos and / or Skype I don't think it makes things easier. I have to study the matter better.

Good point.

Maybe you have some additional passions or knowledge you can share with others being around for 80 years.

I will contact the suggested domains. I know it won't be easy as I am an old man of 80 years but I have seen in others how difficult are their lives, I chose this niche as a challenge. I will go deeper. Then you will know what he could achieve. Thank you.

I have created 2 websites. Therefore the content "About Me" I have created 2 content. But in the Site Content, I can only see one content "About Me" of one of my website and when I click to go inside it become another content "About Me' of my another website. I'm very confused now. It stated the content already publiced but I can only find my first website "About Me" content is up but my 2nd website "About Me" is not up. Don't know what is going on here. Very confuse.

That is because it is likely within the published tab. If you are on the SiteContent dashboard the unpublished tab may be selected, thus just showing the one.

Could that be the case here?

I'm not sure. I'm confused. Anyway I just do some correction of the contents by copy & paste & re-create new contents to fix it at the right place and make sure my contents on the 2 website are the right contents.

But I have a question. If I make any edition to a published content, will it be update too in the content under the Site Content dashboard?

Well we can definitely help you establish yourself as an authority/expert within this space. I have spent some time breaking down the process in the most simplistic way possible. Success online is at the core a 4 step process and I have broken them down within this video: Broken, down, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Choose your niche
Step 2: Build your website/content
Step 3: Get rankings in search engines (leads to traffic)
Step 4: Monetize your traffic (the make money part, through affiliate programs, your product, etc!)

This applies in absolutely every niche and as you work through the training here at WA, you are going to be walked through this exact process. This is fundamental for ANY success online.

If you have any further questions let me know Val. :)

I've chosen my Niche and it is Hair Health. Pedamis Humanis is a huge problem in NZ and possibly around the world. I do have a lot of knowledge on this subject and I'm passionate about helping people to deal with it. There are a quite few products available on the market but I'm sure I can fit myself in. I use natural and organic material in my product but a lot of the problem comes from lack of knowledge so in the first instance it's about education.

Yeah, that is most definitely the direction you could head with your niche. If this is something that you are passionate about, definitely go for it Ron!

Is personal development too broad of a niche?

I have visions of a website called self improvement movement, (I've already started it, but am starting it again with WA guidance) within my blog posts will be more specific niche products like water filers, dehydrators and juicers. Along with these posts I will be sharing self love techniques and aspire to create my own online course one day...

I think personal development is a great niche. I think maybe try to have a target audience, millennial’s versus baby boomers, moms versus students, that sort of thing

Everyone can benefit from personal development techniques but perhaps some work better for certain populations than others

Is there a specific genre with in personal development that you like the most? Is there a method that you follow in particular ?

Yeah meditation, yoga and healthy eating. I'm also studying nutrition coaching at the moment :)
Mindset work is also one of my favs, it's pretty powerful to change you're beliefs around things, money for example. I grew up in a 7 kid house hold, single mum on benefits.
To change my mindset from money scarcity to money abundance has taken time and I'm abundant in money yet, but opportunities are starting to open up for me as I visualise daily my life in abundance in 6 months time :)

So maybe you could offer a nutrition coaching services with mind work, NLP,

Sounds like a lifestyle blog 🙂 and you can have lots of content based on what sounds like an adventurous traveling life so far, and your experiences

Wish you the very very best !

hey hi Lila !

Good question and all questions are good ones!

Frankly, any niche can be a successful one and in this instance, you've likely already answered your own question, as all answers are within!

It sounds like a wonderful niche --- in building on-line success, it's vital to keep your audience in mind --- who are you writing for and what are their interests? .... a niche is one that you can blog about in-depth, deeply, and extensively over a period of time in becoming the 'authority' ....

You've got some super ideas to work with and to achieve --- keep your dreams, hopes and aspirations UP and Alive!

All the best to you for every Success, cheerio .... :)

Hello there, you have some really great ideas, I however think for now you should choose one topic to work with as your niche, based on this comment ☝🏻 You have 3 websites ( 3 niches) its ok to build a lifestyle blog but the problem with that is you will not become an authority in any niche because you will be covering everything within one website.
Articles about nutrition, yoga, meditation, healthy eating, money mindset.

Your readers will be confused and the search engines will have a hard time determining where to rank your website.

I say, take you time and decide which niche you want to be an authority in, and start with that.

I would love some input especially from women/moms.
For my niche I would love to focus on mompreneurs/stay at home moms/single moms trying to do it all, being a good mom, increase income, etc. Not sure how to focus down more though. I also was thinking about something related to positive parenting style but not sure.

Hi, I think you are the right spot provided you will be happy doing it.
I will also suggest a niche on nanny . With nanny you may end up selling, advertising and even promoting baby stuff at the same time with different companies.

Before Lesson 1: 3 of 10. I was thinking of doing a niche on dog-related products. But, after watching the video on choosing a direction. My passion is actually more towards skincare. There are so many products in skincare and since that is the case. Would face mask be a good niche? Cause I know there are electronic products and face mask you can wear overnight which most people don't know about. Normally people will find a mask that is washed off after 15-25 mins of use but there are more than those type of mask that people just don't know about. Also based on skin type, there are many types of different mask for dry skin, oily skin, sensitive skin, etc. And should eye mask be part of the face mask? My mind is blown. How should I go on with this niche? There's so much I can talk about when it comes to skincare.
Reply
Oh I love to see how you’re exploring different topics and even changing. I agree try to do something less well known. Face masks is super common but the stuff you mentioned maybe not. I think it can be pretty overwhelming deciding on a direction. Maybe write a bunch of stuff down to get it out of your head and on paper and see where it leads to. Do you keep writing about a specific genre such as DIY? New products ? More equipment type ?
My sister is all into skincare and beauty and always following the latest trends. She is now incorporating the jade facial roller into her daily routine. So the potential is there but need to somehow narrow it down. Are you targeting a specific age group ? Millennial v baby boomer for example. Can’t wait to see what you come up with.

I tend to like to do research and read multiple reviews, see what works for most people including myself. I'm more into anti-aging skincare. Especially since you should be starting skincare at least age 19, it's best to start early and maintain. Shouldn't be using harsh products, since there are many exfoliatins that are more gentle on the skin. I think it's more like I enjoy sharing my research with others. I've tried some of the products that I've researched but there's so much to try that I only try the news ones I find, after finishing up my old ones. A lot of the products I've researched have great reviews. But I can't try them all. Honestly though when it comes to skincare, I actually love helping people find products for their skin type.

Also, I wouldn't say equipment type but more of a device you use at home. Depending on your skin problem, the LED mask has different photon light you use to target different problems for your skin. I never used the mask but the LED light therapy works, I've used a handheld version for acne/pimples before.

Also, did you know once you've done your facial routine at night? You're only supposed to rinse your face with water in the morning and then apply your normal routine starting from with the toner? But it makes sense to me that it's how it should be, especially after learning that from my Korean friend that watched a Korean TV on famous K-pop stars. Their parents were the ones who taught them that. And I'm sure not a lot of people know this but it works really well because it helped with my eczema. I wasn't striping off my naturals oils day and night but only at night because of the outdoor and the pollution etc. But you're not outdoors in the middle of the night so there's no need to cleanse your face in the morning but you should rinse before reapplying your normal routine.

I feel like I'm making my niche complicated. Any specific ideas?

I can relate when you say research. I’m the research queen when it comes to anything baby related haha.

People don’t always have the time to research. I didn’t realize that for a while. Someone will ask me a question and I’ll answer surprised they didn’t about that Product or service etc. I’m thinking to myself, that person didn’t spend 5 hours looking up the best toddler toothpaste or the best baby wipes? 😀

People are very successful with review blogs and it seems like you are passionate and knowledgeable. You could do reviews on specific products, reviews comparing Product A and product B, reviews on products that many people use but maybe aren’t the best or healthiest and explaining why.

My sister was using a cream and I was reading the ingredients and told her hello! This is so bad for you. She said really? It supposed to be a great product. So people assume if it’s labeled “good” “natural” then it is but they don’t have the time to really educate themselves and do their own research.
Videos work really well with this sort of thing. Not that you have to show your face if your a private person but having video product reviews I find can be easier for a person looking. So maybe you could incorporate written and video reviews.

Even bringing Eastern practices such as Korean, Japanese etc as you mentioned to the regular everyday person in the West (US, UK) is a great niche. Their beauty and skincare routines or “secrets”.

I think I rambled a bit Sorry 🙂
Reply
Elene86 Premium
It's fine to ramble. I know Korean and Japanese skincare weight heavily on healthy skin and Asian skin tends to be more sensitive but then again I feel like everyone should use the gentler products because I've used CVS products when I was younger and some of those drug store skincare was pretty harsh. Of course, I learn the hard way after my skin becoming more sensitive leading to my eczema, it was weeping eczema on my cheeks. My eczema was really bad but a lot better now though. Can't tell I've ever had it. And I do have those photos which made people surprised.
Reply
That’s pretty impressive! Seems like through experience you are an expert on healing your skin from issues such as eczema with alternative beauty products and routines inspired by Korean and other Asian trends.

Hi , you are absolutely right about the skincare stuff. From my observation it will be a good stuff for you. I could see you can express stuff on that easily. I myself I deal on korean cosmetics that i export to other countries.
If i were you i will build something around it.. I could be of help if you need one concerning skincare product from korea and stuff.
Good luck to discovering your dream.
