How Will YOU Earn Money?

There are many ways to make money online! The problem is that people often get distracted by the "latest and greatest" product or service and they are never able to build a successful (and revenue generating) business.

Today we are going to run you through one of the most fundamental, yet the most powerful processes of generating revenue online.

It is a proven process, it is one that we use, and one that 100,000's of other Wealthy Affiliate members use. It is also the ultimate "making money" process that worked 5 years ago and it is going to work 5 years from now. It is a process that will reveal as much opportunity in the massive online world as you are willing to work for!

Just one thing before you get into the MONEY "stuff"...

The making money part of your business won't happen quite yet.

Before you earn money, you are going to first be focusing on creating your niche website (which will take place in the next two lessons) and are working to get traffic to your website. Without a website, without content, and without traffic, the MONEY part simply doesn't happen.

So don't look at this like a race. You will reach success and a great deal of it, but before you build your own personal SKYSCRAPER of a business, you must first have a solid FOUNDATION to build it on. That is going to be our first goal within the Getting Started training. Cool?

Alright, let's continue on! :)

Below is a video walk-through of today's lesson and the process of "How to Make Money Online". Just click the PLAY button to watch it!

DISCUSS THIS VIDEO HERE: How to Make Money Online - The Process Explained

Over the coming days you are going to be working through this process and by the end of this Level 1 training alone, you are going to have an awesome foundation in place that will lead you to much greater success.

Task #1: Understand the Make Money Process

There are MANY different ways that you can earn money online and many different ways in which you can build an entire business. In the coming lessons we are going to be walking you through the following process (and the video above explains it).

There are 3.75 BILLION people online as of 2018 (YOUR audience) and these people are searching for things all the time.

They are looking for information, solutions to problems and to buy stuff. That is where you are going to come in with your website and help these "audiences" by offering them information about what they are looking for. You will be "helping" these people and earning revenue in the process.

By Lesson 4 of this course you are going to have your very own "niche" website in place that you will use to connect with your chosen audience. You will have your very own piece of the internet and a platform to connect anyone that you want who browses the Internet.

Task #2: Create (Write Down) Your Financial Goals

You want to earn revenue right? That is great! In order to earn anything however, you need to have some goals in place.

In this task we want you to join in on a "money goals" discussion here at Wealthy Affiliate. You are going to be telling us what your goals are and going forward, we are going to be helping you achieve these very goals!

QUESTION #1: How much money would you be happy earning?

QUESTION #2: How much would you be ecstatic earning?

QUESTION #3: And how much TIME are you willing to invest to achieve these goals?

PLEASE make 100% sure that you do not skip this step and you revisit this post regularly when you are in need of some motivation. I can absolutely assure you that if you work hard at this and you are persistent towards these goals, you will achieve them. But ultimately it is UP TO YOU!

Join Discussion: What Are Your "money" Goals?

In addition to this, it would be wonderful if you commented on someone else's goals they have posted within this thread. Aim to comment on at least TWO people's goals. You likely can network with many other "like minded" people here at Wealthy Affiliate and this is a good way to get your networking efforts rolling. We are a friendly bunch here at WA!

Awesome, off to the next lesson now where you will be "choosing your niche"!

I am having trouble figuring out how to do this step:

"After you publish your Privacy Policy, you are going to want to log into the back office of your website (Wordpress Admin area) through the SiteManager or through SiteContent. When you are within the editor for this page, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see the following settings.

Check off the Robots Meta NOINDEX and the Robots Meta NOFOLLOW. These will make sure this page (which is all duplicate content) does not get indexed in Google. The Privacy Policy is the ONLY page you want to do this for as it is duplicate content.

You are all set with your first few pages of content on your website. Kudos to you for your hard work thus far, in the next lesson we are going to be covering navigation on your website and how to create custom menus. ;)"

Did I already do it and somehow not know it? I can't find where to go to confirm? HELP PLEASE! TIA!

Hello Tia,

What it means is you need to check the boxes at the bottom of the page. Like you see on this screenshot. Hope this helps.

I've been thinking about designing man caves/small backyard structures... The spaces include;
1.bar/eatery (island bench/bar fridge)
2.gaming area (poker/snooker/darts)
3. Entertainment area (furniture/entertainment)
4. Office (desks/chairs)

As you can see it's alot of niches within the niche of the man cave/backyard structure... Should I simplify it?

Hmm, I'm stuck on the initial Creating our Initial Website Content. I'm doing the About Us pieces but having problems with the H1, H2, H3 section. I have not as yet Published so there are no dropdown buttons/icons to work with...

Cannot get the content headers in the right font/coding so my entire paragraphs are all in one tiny font, no paragraphs showing....

I'm just wondering. With the starter membership you can make 2 websites. But what if you want to later purchase that domain so it doesn't say site rubric? Or what if you need to migrate your site to your own hosting for some reason? I just want to be clear before I go making a full website. I dont want to feel stuck or restricted if I want to have a normal .com or .co in the future.

Hi Amy,

Not to worry, you can buy the domain and transfer it from siterubix to a .com domain at anytime. I bought a domain yesterday and am going to be doing the exact same thing. So it's fine and also extremely simple to do.

Hi Amy
you can build 2 site rubix websites and then if you decide to go premium, you can transfer your website to a domain name with. com that you choose that relates to your niche site
I hope this helps and if you get started on the training it will teach you everything you need to create and build a future online

If the .com domain is available of course you can purchase it but I would purchase your .com domain first up. They are only about $14 and I got all mine from Go Daddy and all you do then is to point the hosting to WA and if you later want to move to another platform all you do is change the hosting again. There is no need to transfer the .com to Wealthy Affiliate. If you decide to start with the siterubix site then it is easy enough to upgrade to premium .

1. You can migrate your siterubix.com to your own domain .com.
2. You can migrate your .com in WA host to another hosting if you want to transfer. You have 30 days to do it if that will happen.

See this Kyle's training: Hope it will help you.

It just seems like a lot of information added to our pages or post. Does our customer or interested person that logs onto our web site really wants to see all that. It just seems like leaving an area open for comments or discussion be better than writing them a book, that way you learn more about what their looking for and if you can help them with whatever they're looking for before they leave your site.

I actually have 3 niches that I want to include on my header page and then do about me in reference to them. I thought we were suppose to be putting our niches to promote products from our main search engines and get paid by them when purchases were made. But I do have some confusion about how we set up a proper e-mail then just our personal e-mail that we normally use.

I am sorta kinda leaning toward getting into the beauty niche because I used to be really, really into beauty products, In particular, hair. I have a family vlogging channel and will be able to promote on there a lot. I used to do hair videos years ago. I lobe beauty products. I guess the reason why I'm not as into it anymore is because I can't afford to buy them like I used to. I wanna choose beauty, BUT am hesitant. I'm not really a guru like a lot of other YouTubers

Hello Amy and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate.
You want to pick a niche that you are passionate about.

To be honest, not everyone are "gurus" when it comes to the niche they chose. This is where research comes in : )

I chose my niche because I wanted to help others find legitimate work from home opportunities.

If you are having trouble deciding on a niche, you can try this.
I want to help people _____
And fill in the blank.

I hope this helps.

If you're really interested in beauty products then go for it. It is always best to choose the niche that you are most passionate about. It is okay that you are not an expert in the field right now.
You will become better and more experienced at creating content, videos, etc. as you continue with the training.
Reply
If you have experience with beauty products you can do quiet alot without purchasing any items. Give away knowledge, to begin with: how to select products that are right for you, how to apply for your unique body, "dos and don'ts", finding the best place to buy, etc. Get creative. This will set you apart, making growing your following easier, and making collaborations easier as well.

Then you'll accidentally be a guru! 😮. Really, all a "guru" is, is the person 2+ steps ahead of their followers.

The path will bring the money to eventually buy the products so you can mix it up in the future- keeping it fresh, keeping your followers around, attracting new followers, etc, etc, etc.

You got this!

Thank you for the great info.

Guru? No, not guru... informed! There are tons of beauty videos and websites out there all saying the same thing and nothing at all. Most are overwhelming without helping people make the right product decisions and choices. Somewhere deep inside of you is that something that will make the difference. You can feel it... you know it's there. Proof of it is exhibited in your desire. Seek it out within yourself and bring it to the forefront of your passion. With it you'll make the difference needed by millions! Stop sitting on it and turn it loose, girl! Now... go shake 'em up!

Do You Amy, don't be afraid to try what you're passionate about, It can only really fail if you stop trying! Feel confident and go for it. the return will be worth it. there's no such thing as wasted effort :D goodluck!

As a Starter member you have two free SiteRubix which are sub-domains and belong to wealthy affiliate.

If you buy your own Domain whether from WA or somewhere else it is yours and nobody can take it away from you.

If you do have your own Domain Name then you have to register it and you can do that with wealthy affiliate or the company you bought it from.
You can still transfer it to WA.

Hope all is clear and if not I'm sure there will be other members will give you their advice as well.
Enjoy your Thursday.

When you click "on a free domain," that means you want to use a website address hosted by Wealthy Affiliate. It will always end with ".siterubix.com" and looks a bit amateurish.

When you click "on a domain I own," that means you want to use a website address you have already purchased (which costs about $15 a year). This will just end with just ".com" and looks a lot more professional.

When you click "register a domain," that means you want to use the same kind of address as the last one, but you haven't purchased it yet.

WA owns the ".siterubix.com" websites, but only hosts the ones you buy.

With your free membership, you can only choose the Free website. If you buy a domain, which you CAN do with your free membership, but you won't be able to create a website with it unless you're a Premium.

Only the domains you buy will be yours.

Looking for some input on my first niche website idea. I'm thinking about doing a site for budget PC gaming accessories (keyboards, headsets, mice, etc...). Won't be focusing much, if at all, on consoles or premium priced items.

I feel like there are plenty of 9 to 5 people, college kids, etc.. that want quality products, but don't have the time to play as much to justify buying high priced accessories or just average gamers that don't necessarily need pro grade equipment, but still want quality.

Any thoughts?

In affiliate marketing, you promote through your own website, the product of another person or company. When on account of your promotion, someone buys that product, then the company who owns or is selling the product, will acknowledge your effort by giving you a commission.

Greetings Everyone! I want to explore 3 niches - Fragrance is one "Whatzthatsmell" looking for home-car-office fragrance affiliates, That's the narrowing down I did. The other is gourmet nuts/popcorn for gifts / baskets etc, and... natural skin care (shea butter-black-soap-natural and essential oils. Any thoughts on these niches.. Have I narrowed them down enough?

Hi Ms Murf,

A few pointers for a good niche

1. It must be evergreen,
2. Solve a problem
3. Be profitable

No. 1 Fragrance for home directed at new families living in.(location)....Fill in the blanks... Are they on a high income or mid-level....What is the product range price (to know how to tailor the right marketing method to your audience)

If the fragrance is naturally based on essential oils, that is good as you have to remember some people sneeze with artificial fragrance being sprayed around. Especially in offices!

No.2 Gourmet nuts is probably too narrow...

No.3 Natural Skincare...Love it! Very good evergreen niche and probably mid to high priced (£15-40 mark each product) You could do natural skincare for dry skin, oily skin, combinaton, aging...normal...problem skin...

You will have a lot to write about!

Tell me what you choose!

All the best,
Stella

If your going to do anything popcorn related I'd recommend looking up Etsy's popcorn section. Gourment popcorn is a HOT seller on there during the holidays.

Make sure whatever you do, you integrate etsy into it. You have to necessarily create those gift packs, but maybe just advertise them. Like run a blog about top 10 holiday gift ideas, and link to some of those products. That way your not having to worry about creating gift baskets or managing anything like that. You just have to run the site and take a comission.

Hope that helps. :)

Hi there! You know, you just confirmed what I was thinking about in narrowing down the niches. After researching the gift baskets some more, it seems that they would lean to much towards the craftytype niche and that's not my passion... but oh that fragrance and skin care... I think that will be fun and insightful.
Thanks for your conformational input!

I do appreciate your insight! It just confirms what I had settled on this morning during "quiet time". I agree about the natural oils of the car-auto-office fragrances. (my website will be whatzthatsmell.biz) and the natural skin-hair and body care (website will be nedrasnaturalnecessities.com)
This is going to be so much fun! I have some experience in both arenas, so now with the opportunity to integrate the affiliate method of making money with the power of this community with me.. I look forward to sharing and working together. What is your niche?

Great tutorial and informative content.

My initial thought around a niche is all things 'personal development' related whether it be 'goal setting', 'motivation' or general life coaching skills. A big area so will likely focus on one particular aspect of this but wondered what you all think of this as a subject matter?
Reply
Whatknots Premium
Hi - Take one aspect of personal development and work with that to start with. You will find that working on one thing like goal setting will be give you plentry to write posts about rather than trying to do all of them.

However, as you build on your web (and you really give one idea - ie goal setting a huge effort, then you could start incorporating other topics - , you could have drop down menus that then take you to the other aspects

Does this make sense?

I'm already satisfied with my initial 'niche' idea and like the tutorial and Kyle stated, "anything can be a niche" so I've started scribbling notes and ideas, ideas within ideas etc and already my hand is writing itself. What concerns me at this stage is am I just flooding things out that interest me and could it be made into an interesting and helpful website to promote? Hmm. I've even been toying around with titles for the website, relevant to the niche. I'm quite a creative guy at heart and full of ideas and can only hope I can translate my ideas and this niche of a plan into a decent website and possible revenue. Trying not to worry too much at this moment or self doubt my abilities and ideas.

Don't beat yourself up to much!
I tend to be OCD when it comes to my websites, and I have learned that it is much easier to create content and publish then come back and change things if I wish.
That way, my content starts getting indexed and Google and Bing see that I am active on my websites as well.
I also use jaaxy, the free keyword tool to get title ideas, I like to read the list on the right called related to I think

hi everyone :) quick question from the Video- lets use the example of football snack helmets. if the customer finds your website and follows your affiliate link to Amazon, do you only get commission if they buy the specific product (the snack helmet) or can you then get commission or further commission if they click another product to buy (but it was your original link for the helmet that sent them to Amazon..) hope that makes sense!

You are promoting products and getting affiliate onto your website. You will probably make more money from the affiliates you have on your website that the actual product you are selling or promoting. What are you planning? Are you drop shipping? Are you promoting a product. We cannot really answer your question fully if we do not know what you are planning

This is all new to me. So I'm still a little lost on it. Witch I've heard a little bit about drop shipping but not sure how to affiliate that with this program yet. As far as my niche I want to do something along with kid items, clothes etc. I guess what I'm asking is how do I get my products on my website. I guess that will come along with still building it. But I do understand where you are coming from as far as we promoting our products. thanks so much for helping.

You are welcome. If you are wanting to drop ship it simply means that you take products from Ali Baba or Ali Express, put them on your website and sell them at an inflated price. People pay you for the product, you take your cut and sent the balance of the payment and the order to Ali Express or whoever you are working with. If you write to me private I will give you some pointers that I cannot do here - just pm me and I will point you in that direction

Hi Holly,

The training here at WA is focused on affiliate marketing so let's talk about that.
You will learn how to join affiliate programs and affiliate networks like Amazon, where you will find products related to your niche. You will choose products that are relevant to your audience and will grab an affiliate link for each product. Then you can add those affiliate links to the articles/posts you publish on your site. The products you promote need to be relevant to your audience because your goal is to help them find what they're looking for. The focus is on helping your visitors a.k.a. people who visit your website. When they buy a product through your affiliate link, you will earn a commission.

You don't need to buy the products you want to promote but using them yourself actually helps you with promotions. I mean, when you promote something you like or something you believe in, you can talk about your experience with that product which is something that proves the product is useful and can help your visitors, so it will increase conversions.

I hope this helps!

Is it more difficult to attract traffic and make money if my niche is a service rather than a product? I know a lot about raising money for small businesses as well as personal finance. But I'm not sure a niche within those sectors would create much in the way of sales. I am also quite interested in and good at cooking/food. Would that have better potential?
Reply
This is also something I would like to know. I'm a paediatrician interested in offering guidance and assessment in child nutrition . Maybe make good sales by redirecting traffic to e-books, recipe books, utensils...?

It all boils down to how you can derive income from it. Would one offer you more opportunity for affiliate sales? I, personally, would lean toward cooking as I can see a lot of opportunity to market appliances and accessories and so on but that might just be my limited understanding of what’s available in your service niche.

Hi!,
I have a somewhat broad question regarding the niche choosing process.
There's this tool here called Jaax I think, where does it fit in the niche research process? Can it be used for finding a niche for someone who has no idea where to start or does it have to be used to validate a niche idea?
Thanks!

HEllo Zdy and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate.
Jaaxy can actually do A LOT of things for you.

But, to help you choose your niche, not so much. You want to choose a niche as something that you are passionate about.

You will be doing a lot of writing so you want something that you will not get bored with or run out of things to write about.

What about lectures or programming?
I see in your bio that you have knowledge on both of those.

Here is a couple of links that might help you as well. I hope this helps : )
If you need more assistance, please let us know.
Wishing you the best in all you do

Jaaxy is a keyword research tool. Literally speaking is not for testing, evaluating niches, but to perform keyword researches related to a given niche/topic. Which is also helpful when you are trying to evaluate your niche.

Oh and btw, I just finished post 'about me' and 'privacy policy' and wow! I can't believed that I'll be able to write my own stuff on my website like that.
This feeling is so great!

I have a couple of questions:

1. I posted my privacy policy as a page, but it's still allowing for comments. Did I miss a step in turning that setting off somewhere?

2. As a page, should there be a link for the privacy policy somewhere on my site? The only way I can actually locate it to verify it's there is to search for it in the search box. Is this just something to do with my theme? Or is there a setting I need to change?

Marley2016 Premium
Amber,
In WordPress open your pages and hover over the privacy policy page you will see "Quick Edit" click on this a box will open and
there will be a check beside the comments uncheck the box and the comment section will go away :)

In order for you to see the privacy page on your website, you must add it to the menu go to lesson 8 on Level 1 better yet wait
Kyle will get to it and show you how to add it to the menu :)

Hope this helps :)

Hi guys,
I have two questions: 1. many contents in my posts are gathered from other websites. Should I make any reference to them in some way? 2. how do you guys generate original content? one way I can think of is to actually try the products and review based on my personal experience. Any other way?

many thanks
Reply
smartketeer Premium
1. Yes, you need to give credits.

2. Yes, the review is a common and popular method.

But you can create useful content in many different formats and ways.

See this
Reply
Triblu Premium
Hey Zhoucheng,

1.) You could mention the website in your list of sources at the end of your post. That's what I like doing. You don't even have to make the URL a live link either. Their site will still gain the credit it should without offering your website visitor a means of exiting your website.

2.) The one way you stated, "to actually try the products and review based on my personal experience"... is the ONLY way to do a review that will gain you credibility. Mentioning other's reviews gains you no credit all.

Hope you find this helpful.
Reply
RoseAnn1234 Premium
you can gather your information from any source, but you MUST write it in your own words. It is best if you gather information from many sources to make sure the content is accurate.
Make sure you mix content, add some of your own points and vary the order. Never just copy someone else's work.
If you quote something then you should always reference the source.
If you do not buy the product, just review the benefits as told by the manufacturer. Sell is as in the third person. Do not pretend, you are likely to get caught up.

Welcome to the WA community.

There are few programs like it and I have tested several legitimate ones. The community is super supportive and the training is some of the best in the industry.

The reason people keep saying, "follow the steps" is because there is no shortage of resources and training available on just about anything Internet Marketing.

Thus, it would be easy to become overwhelmed, especially if you are new to online marketing.

Be consistent and be patient. Reach out if you need help.

The specific task is t comment on at least two people, but I think I'll make this a generic one so as to keep from neglecting any one: Viewing the multiple comments from others, I get the impression that this is a most helpful community. Just as advertised. Therefore, I am still excited (and hope to be even more excited, as I pick up additional learning).

I have chosen my niche for now but I have a question. I am currently involved in an online MLM business. I also know my products are available through Amazon. Amazon of course has an affiliate program. While I haven't decided for sure I am thinking of promoting my products through Amazon.

My question is, if I wanted to setup a niche website through Amazon is it possible to include my personal link that I have with my current home based business?
Reply
Definitely very simple for starters but also extremely exciting. This could very well be what I have been looking for to take me to the next level along with my current online business venture. Hi guys,
I talked about Affiliate Marketing with friends today and a question pops up which I thought about sometime ago but did not know: why do visitors want to buy products through my link instead of going to the website like Amazon and search the product? After they read my post, they know the name of the product and can go to the site like Amazon to buy it? Another thing is: will they trust my link? some people may worry that is a hacker link.

Thanks
Reply
JKulk1 Premium
Yes, some people might go straight to Amazon however if you provide lots of relevant good, interesting content, people will want to come back and read more, they will also learn to trust your site and therefore trust your review articles. People are happy to purchase products from people they trust. Jim
Reply
McWord Premium
That's a great question! If you point out that Amazon does offer the product, they are more liable to buy from their. On the other hand, if you've trust with your visitors and you do not mention Amazon as an alternate way of purchasing, they may just buy from you.

All the best,

mitch

Thank you for your answer! Since I haven't got to that stage where people can buy products through my link, it is kind of hard for me to imagine that. hopefully I will get there one day

Thank you for your answer! One thing is that people can actually know which website sells the products without me mentioning the website when they click or just look at my link like www.amazon.com/xxxxxx... and they can just go to buy the products without my link

Absolutely right, Mickey! Still, if they purchase using your link, you have developed some trust there. And that's a great beginning!

@CidecDesigns I understand what you mean. How the whole system works with having websites or blogging/affiliate marketing it takes awhile for you to start ranking in Google and getting a steady stream of income. I help a lot of newb bloggers and that is always their number 1 frustration. Although it isn't a quick fix I started 5 websites in varying and somewhat vague niches that I will produce content for twice a week with low engagement. Its just a process so that in 6-12 months when they start making money and since they have been curated and optimized I should turn an okay profit for no more than it will take.

Hi there - you are quite right - anything worthwhile is worth putting in the effort. You are building a business so that you can sustain a lifestyle and it may take 3 months - it may take 12 months but in the end it will be worth it. There are over 1.5million users on this platform, some in their 80's and they would not all be here if the program was not working - it would have died many many years ago. It is a credit to Kyle and Carson that they put so much time effort and energy into producing this program for us to enjoy the benefits for a lousy $49 a month.

Hello, I have a question regarding the niche. There are two things I am interested in, namely travelling and self-development. I was thinking of starting with travelling but does it not imply that I need to know the places well myself? I have been around a bit but certainly not enough to compete with the exisiting travel blogs which offer exciting stories and fascinating pictures.

Your lack of knowledge is your best asset. For example, millions of people have toured the catacombs of paris. It would be hard to write anything new on the topic. While almost no one as visited the catacombs of Greece.

So you can write exclusively on places you've never been to. Places that few people have been to. Then you have a niche worth exploring. Hope this is helpful to you.

Your contact information
Additional information
How we protect your data
What data breach procedures we have in place
What third parties we receive data from
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
Industry regulatory disclosure requirements

I assume that this was done automatically via WA/Wordpress. Think it looks very professional and like many of the Privacy Policies I've seen for large corporations.

If you look into Paypal, I'm pretty sure you can. Check out being a merchant. And yes, you can sell items on your website as a content provider, there should be no restriction on this because the website builder is the commercial version of Wordpress. You could also sell on clickbank, etc...

If you need special permissions from WA -- I doubt it. But you can read the terms of service specifically regarding the restrictions of stuff you should not engage in.

Hello, my question regarding the SEO plug-in and chosen theme is this: When I view page source in Chrome, the elements for Meta-Name are not being shown in the source, therefore what I've typed in the SEO plug-in is not in the source file. The same is true for keywords -- no keywords entered into the SEO plugin are showing up in the source file at any location

Yes, I have used search features to see if I can locate character strings, and I cannot find any keywords or name description elements. Is there something wrong with the theme/SEO plugin interface?

It seems to me that it's important that the description and the key words show up somewhere in the source code !! :)

Just to confirm, you're in your site's WP back office right. You got there by going to Websites and clicking on login next to the site you want to edit. Then you should be able to go to Posts and click in the post you wish to edit. From there, if you make any changes, there should be an Update button in the upper-right corner to commit those changes.

I personally didn’t request feedback or comments for my about me post. But you can earn credits by going to siteFeedback and giving feedback on someone’s site or siteComments and give comments to someone’s post. You earn one credit per feedback/post. It takes 2 credits to request feedback/post

Is it possible to make some sort of income with the starter kit? I want to get premium but would like to wait and see if this website is the right fit for me, not sure if the 7 day trial is enough to tell that either? Comments, help, everything welcome!

You absolutely can; it's just a little harder. The Premium membership give you access to ALL the tools and training offered here at WA. Yes you can "make it on your own" without going Premium, but you'll need to learn everything on your own too. The training alone is worth the cost of Premium. Then on top of that you have all the tools AND access to the community.

It is difficult to make money off of a siterubix site. It is possible but more difficult. You are right that a 7-day trial is not enough time.

But think of it as a decision making time not a time to see if it works. Because it does work if you put in the time and effort to make it work.

Remember that this is not a get rich quick site. It is, however, a business you are setting up for the long haul. If you are willing to work at it and wait for the people to come to you then you will be successful.

If you do the stock market as my husband does then it is always up and down. But if you stick with it then you make money.

If you make a decision to become premium then remember me because I love to help those who are willing to help themselves and will be happy to assist you if I can.

I wish all the best to you in your decision here at WA.

There are Live video training, recorded video training, Expert Pieces of training all here within this awesome platform and as long as you are focused, prepared to learn, have patience and determination, you too can build a truly successful business
As far as how long it takes. Well this is up to each individual, what their niche is, how hard you work, and how prepared you are to undertake the training here

I just signed up for the free account and am testing the waters, so to speak, with starting my own site/blog. I have an MBA, so any site that I put together will likely have something to do with business. I am most passionate with business analysis, particularly as it relates to project management.

My concern is that BA tends to be a fairly "niche" community, although it is growing rapidly. I love talking about the subject, so content will not be a problem; but as not many people outside of business analysis & project management communities have even heard of the practice, I'm wondering how this might affect actual traffic.

I would certainly appreciate any thoughts or opinions anyone may have on the topic.

Thanks.

I went to school for civil engineering but never got a degree. Depending on how much money you need to make you should create a niche that you’re passionate about.
Reply
feigner Premium
but that's the whole idea AJ, you talk to like minded people and help them with their problems.
You will be making a site which helps others who may not be as advanced as you, gain more knowledge and solve their problems.
in solving their problems you may recommend product solutions, books, courses, etc.
so you have already found your niche - now take action and start the training and create your site to help others all over the world.
Good luck.

Creating a niche/web on what you are passionate about helps as you go through the training as you dont have to spend time researching. My niche is also very selective and there is very little affiliate marketing that links to it. but i look at this as my learning niche. My next one will be totally different once i understand the ins and out of web building

It's strongly advised to go the OEC first. Better not try something more advance now as you may get overwhelmed....Stick to the training step by step is important to get the full benefits of it.

Hello, I want to make sure I did things correctly, I was completing the SEO section while following the training. However when I went to view source I could see my title but I could not see my description and when I went back to my web site I still see the 404 error. I know I haven't added content yet. Did I miss something I should see my description in the coding as well as the title correct?
Reply
RamenRiches Premium
Yes, but it can take a little while to update on the server side. Don't worry too much about the coding aspect of things in the source code. It's much more important to continue moving forward with your training and start to get content on your site so that it can begin ranking on the search engines.

You can always come back to the technical aspects of things later on and tweak them.

Should I create a website within a product of the niche, or the niche itself that promotes products?
Example, should I create a website on cars apparel / rims/ tyres or website on tyres?
I thought of creating website which promotes cars apparel products and within the subdomain, will include apparels, rims, tyres etc.
What are your thoughts. Any recommendations?
Reply
JeannineC Premium
You can do either. If you only do tires, then you'll need to go deep withing that subject. If you do a variety of apparel items, then you will go broad on the variety of items. Either one can be successful.

This sounds like a business decision. Of course, you can take a sub-niche and build a site around that. If that site can be monetized, why not?

Ok I always get stuck in picking a niche. I already blog in a couple of wider niches one being journaling another is marketing. But I want to start new by following wa. So I like PLR, could that make a profitable niche or am I better off going with a affiliate marketing mmo. Which is something I'm passionate about also?
Reply

Follow your heart. You'll do better if you do what you love. Good luck dear
Reply

MMo is great. You can use your PLR stuff to build an email list. (make sure you have the right licence and you're allowed to change the plr contents and cover to make it unique).

If you're into MMO then you can sell all digital stuff, which typically has a higher commission rate. (Sometimes 75% or even 100%).

And if you are into MMO then you can promote Wealthy Affiliate itself, too. Nice recurring commissions there. Recurring commissions are the best commissions because you don't have to work any harder to get a sale than you would to get a single time sale.

Take your time choosing a niche, there's no rush.

Does a niche have to be as specific as he has them, for example, baby car seats or baby girl dresses, or is it possible to have sorta multiple niches on one website? With this, I mean creating a website with a broader subject and having multiple products there.
Maybe it's not a very smart question, but I'd appreciate the help. Thanks!
Reply
BretRoyster Premium
As long as the subjects are super close or can be related. You might be surprised how much you can do with a super narrow niche. Its your business, if it makes sense to you - go for it. You could try telling us your specific niche(s) you are thinking too.
Reply
I thought maybe as overall theme something like organisation, and then as products not for example only agenda's, but different things such as planners or journals too.
Reply
hordol2013 Premium
If it helps, my niche is cloth diapers. After watching the training, I was worried I needed to narrow it even more, like "cloth diapers for beginners" or something. The person I signed up under said they thought cloth diapers was fine, and boy am I glad I went that route! Lol. I have even ended up broadening it a tad more to add eco-friendly posts. It would have been a lot less fun for me to narrow that much.

Now, some niches are broader than others. For example, "Clothes" is too broad--clothes for who? Who is your audience?

Hey Steve!

You are probably using a different "browser" to view your website.

Based on your details, you are probably using Microsoft Edge - but maybe not? (its possible you have funny options set on your browser too)

In the videos, Kyle is using Chrome: https://www.google.com/chrome/

I would recommend that browser when following the videos.

Well you look at websites with browsers not operating systems like Windows 10...

Unless Steve is using some kind of accessibility option in Windows 10 that's stopping his right-click from working correctly on his browsers, its probably a problem of using the wrong browser.

Steve - You could also try creating a new 'default' user profile on your Windows 10 machine. If your current profile has some weird accessibility option turned on, a new profile should have it turned off.

Hope that helps,
- Bret

Hello Amanda and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate.
Most of us had a little skepticism when we first started here.

Rest assured Wealthy Affiliate is 100 % legit.
This community loves to help others.

The training is step by step and if you have questions, be sure to ask.

There is normally always someone active here on the platform. Members are from all over the world.

If you decide to go premium, the only other cost you might want to purchase would be your own domain.

As a free members you get 2 free (sub) domaines. As a premium member you will get 25 free domaines and 25 purchased domaines that you can have hosted here to build websites on at no additional cost.

If you think you might want to go premium, on Black Friday you will be able to get yearly for only $299 which averages out to $0.83 a day.

You can remain a free member as long as you like though.
I hope this helps : )

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

As LeeMcQuay has just said it is legit.
Wealthy Affiliate is a training site to help you build a website. Not to market products through a particular medium.

There are lots of ways to make money online and the training mentions most of them. However, it's focus is on building your own website.

Training is provided by Wealthy Affiliate (Kyle & Carson) but also members. Members also share their successes & failures - although we hope the latter does not happen too often.

This is not a get rich quick scheme that you join then find one time offers and add-ons after add-ons. It is simply a learning experience where everyone is helping everyone else.

We not only share tips and help but we also share our website URL's. As a premium member, we can list up to 7 websites or social media profiles that others can see. This is not about "I can't tell you the product or someone might steal my niche". It is a helpful and sharing community.

Only you can decide if you want to spend the time to learn about building a website and attempting to make money online. There are no guarantees - just like there are no guarantees that you will succeed in a bricks and mortar business. The biggest difference is that on here you can ask questions and get help. We are all always learning as the internet is always evolving.
Reply
possumlane Premium
Please do not think too long - this is the best education and training platform on the internet today. There is nothing else like it anywhere and if you take your time and look around the site and watch all the people on live chat and see just how we help one another I am sure you will be convinced. Apart from that we have over 1.4 million users on here and some are in their 80's. There are people from almost every country in the world here building their online marketing sites. There is also a live webinar every Friday Night (canadian time) for about an hour with questions and answers and again you will see that there are over 200 every webinar and many many questions get answered. If there is anything I can do to help please feel free to contact me and I will be ever so pleased to help in any way I can

Ok so I'm thinking I should have my niche in substance abuse recovery bit not so much leaning into or being biased towards any of the effective or ineffective programs. Wheather you is a 12 step or a start program or use a phycologist ect.. t should be a forum to help awareness of all these ideas and offer help and positive peer group forum for anyone needing immediate help for depression and crisis prevention. Also for me to discuss my prior opiateabuse and my belief that we are incapable of quitting on our own without outside prevention because of the cerbal cortex and how it is taken over so we are no longer able on our own stop it become a primal need.
Also open in this is my belief that medical marijuana should not be confused with addictive drugs. Open to discussing all isure . The substance abuse industry is full of federally fjnded money and many rehab centers have money coming out their ears. My focus will be to attract these centers once my following gets large enough Al that I can receive a commission for mentioning than and when people enter their facilities. I currently have a large brotherhood of members of different abise programs I speak with regularly that would love to post articles as part of their own recovery. Wow and I can go on and on for days about more ideas I just thought all this up right now. Hmm starting to fall in place . Thank u all

If you don't have the budget to upgrade at the moment, that is completely fine. You should work through the Getting Started training (within the "Get Started Here" button in the menu) and take action.

By lesson 4 you are going to have your own niche website up and running. This is the starting point of your business and is the foundation that is going to lead you to success down the road.

When you are ready to upgrade, I know you are going to absolutely love it but at your own pace.

Just a quick note about viewing the source code within safari 12 on a Mac. Apparently Apple has hidden this option. You need to activate the developer menu first.
