How Will YOU Earn Money?

There are many ways to make money online! The problem is that people often get distracted by the "latest and greatest" product or service and they are never able to build a successful (and revenue generating) business.

Today we are going to run you through one of the most fundamental, yet the most powerful processes of generating revenue online.

It is a proven process, it is one that we use, and one that 100,000's of other Wealthy Affiliate members use. It is also the ultimate "making money" process that worked 5 years ago and it is going to work 5 years from now. It is a process that will reveal as much opportunity in the massive online world as you are willing to work for!

Just one thing before you get into the MONEY "stuff"...

The making money part of your business won't happen quite yet.

Before you earn money, you are going to first be focusing on creating your niche website (which will take place in the next two lessons) and are working to get traffic to your website. Without a website, without content, and without traffic, the MONEY part simply doesn't happen.

So don't look at this like a race. You will reach success and a great deal of it, but before you build your own personal SKYSCRAPER of a business, you must first have a solid FOUNDATION to build it on. That is going to be our first goal within the Getting Started training. Cool?

Alright, let's continue on! :)

Below is a video walk-through of today's lesson and the process of "How to Make Money Online". Just click the PLAY button to watch it!

DISCUSS THIS VIDEO HERE: How to Make Money Online - The Process Explained

Over the coming days you are going to be working through this process and by the end of this Level 1 training alone, you are going to have an awesome foundation in place that will lead you to much greater success.

Task #1: Understand the Make Money Process

There are MANY different ways that you can earn money online and many different ways in which you can build an entire business. In the coming lessons we are going to be walking you through the following process (and the video above explains it).

There are 3.75 BILLION people online as of 2018 (YOUR audience) and these people are searching for things all the time.

They are looking for information, solutions to problems and to buy stuff. That is where you are going to come in with your website and help these "audiences" by offering them information about what they are looking for. You will be "helping" these people and earning revenue in the process.

By Lesson 4 of this course you are going to have your very own "niche" website in place that you will use to connect with your chosen audience. You will have your very own piece of the internet and a platform to connect anyone that you want who browses the Internet.

Task #2: Create (Write Down) Your Financial Goals

You want to earn revenue right? That is great! In order to earn anything however, you need to have some goals in place.

In this task we want you to join in on a "money goals" discussion here at Wealthy Affiliate. You are going to be telling us what your goals are and going forward, we are going to be helping you achieve these very goals!

QUESTION #1: How much money would you be happy earning?

QUESTION #2: How much would you be ecstatic earning?

QUESTION #3: And how much TIME are you willing to invest to achieve these goals?

PLEASE make 100% sure that you do not skip this step and you revisit this post regularly when you are in need of some motivation. I can absolutely assure you that if you work hard at this and you are persistent towards these goals, you will achieve them. But ultimately it is UP TO YOU!

Join Discussion: What Are Your "money" Goals?

In addition to this, it would be wonderful if you commented on someone else's goals they have posted within this thread. Aim to comment on at least TWO people's goals. You likely can network with many other "like minded" people here at Wealthy Affiliate and this is a good way to get your networking efforts rolling. We are a friendly bunch here at WA!

Awesome, off to the next lesson now where you will be "choosing your niche"!

I have a question.. I signed up for Wealthy Affiliate under a specific email that I use to keep my work at home emails organized, however I would prefer to have the email associated with my new web page to be specific to the website. If I edit that email on the website, does it also update the email associated with my WA account?
Reply

no they are two separate things. imagine what would happen when you add a second site....
if you want to change your email within your wa account - clik on your image at the top left and then on account settings.
you will now go to a page where you can edit your account settings.
I haven't changed mine - but clicknig the edit button gives you the option to change your email address.

Also, the domains I purchase - can they be used for any kind of website, or must they be for affiliate marketing purposes only? For example, if I already have a business that needs a website, can I use one from a domain I purchase here? Maybe I would add links as an affiliate, maybe not. Or what if I want to build an online store for a drop-ship business? Can the two be mixed? Affiliate marketing within my own online store website?

To answer your first question The chances to make money is high but only for the individuals that treat this as a business. It's the internet so money is out there

But it depends on the work you put in if it's dedicated valuable work then 6 mos to a year i would say a person can attain full time wages and more

To answer your 2nd question Yes your site is yours to do what you like within rules and guidelines of the internet. I have a site for my business and then i am working on an affiliate site

Wealthy Affiliate is a training platform to guide us in success with the perks of hosting, security, support, and much more

Hope that made sense

You purchase a domain name for what you need it. If you want to do a niche site, do affiliate marketing and direct sales that is ok.
Here you learn more about affiliate marketing than building an online store but I think everything is covered.
Most important for a website to get traffic is that you understand SEO and niche research and building content.

SnazzyIT Premium
Yes in addition to Shannonkamal said, which is right, you can use your domain for anything, even an existing business :)

My question was regarding real statistics. I'd like to know how many people make a successful business this way, percentage-wise and approximately how long it takes to start making decent money. I'm not looking for get rich quick examples, I'd like a realistic idea of how much time vs return on investment, on average.
Reply
Zappades Premium
Hi, I think this is hard to say, most, I think about 90% never make any money with their website but this is due to that they stop trying before it works.
To learn affiliate marketing, website business SEO and making sales takes time like any profession.
Everyone that keeps at it will finally make money. How much again depends a lot on the effort made, the niche and the system they use.
Reply
I love what Jerry Huang has to say about motivation. Most of us newbies are here with the mindset of "get rich quick." I have realized after many attempts that the only get rich people are those that offer the product rather than the service.
I am looking through comments so will post more observations and questions as I thread through this weave.
Reply

I don't think there is ever really a "get rich quick" idea without the work to go along with it. Even if the idea is spectacular, it still takes work to get that idea rolling along. This is just my humble opinion, I could be absolutely wrong lol
Thanks, Shannon

Hey all,
So while watching this training video and reading over the information about niche, I was thinking about my dog the whole time. I found my Lab online while I was in de mobilization status in TX, I spent two days at home in CA before driving out to MO to pick him up from the breeder. Since I've had him, I've researched on all the puppy training that I possibly could. The cost of a dog trainer is e-x-p-e-n-s-i-v-e and not only that, training is #1 bonding with your dog. I didn't want to pay thousands of dollars for someone else to bond with MY dog! So I was thinking about creating a website around training your own puppy and share all the information that I've learned, promote the training products that I've used (treat bag, eCollar, dummy duck etc...) as well as books on puppy/dog training, and what my pup has taught me along the way.

Does this sound like a good niche? What are your thoughts?

Hi Mary,

Dog training could work, maybe do some research on the ease of ranking keywords in Google, check out the competition already out there.

I think it's a great niche to get into. You can branch out later into other non-training related (but still pet related) products.

MCB,
Thanks for the reply and insight. Do you mean keyword research? Keywords that users would enter into the search engine (Google, Bing...) then websites come up with closest match. Maybe I haven't got to that part of the training. I'm sure there's something up ahead that explains keywords and ranking.

Thanks!

Thank you for the feedback everyone! I love this! I've paused the first video on creating your first website. Now it looks like I'll be brainstorming ideas for a domain name, website name/title.
Something along the lines of DIY Black Lab puppy/dog training. My Lab will be 1 year old at the end of May and his name is Toby. lol. The vision that I have for the site is that I will explain all of the steps that I have learned and found that worked well in learning to train my dog without having to spend thousands of dollars on dog trainers and boarding schools. I'l display my own photos and videos of me and Toby doing the training and I'll promote the products and books that I've used all along the way.

Okay, so my question is a simple one. As my WA profile says I'm a curious person and with that comes along alot more failures than success however I'm also a family man and need to be able to provide for my family's needs as well so what happens if I need more time to determine if this helps or is just (sorry for the phrase) a waste of time or not a very good investment? I mean some people are on a tight budget and may need more than just a few days to upgrade if choose to.Again sorry for the phrase.

Hi - you can stay as a starter member for as long as you wish. You can work on your 2 free websites. However, you are limited to the first 10 lessons, which can make it more challenging.

If you choose to upgrade within the first 7 days, it is offered at a discount of only $19. The monthly price after that is $49, although it is considerably cheaper to pay yearly.

You can cancel at any time, but there are no refunds.

Please be aware that this is not a get rich quick scheme, and takes time, effort and patience. Please have a look at the attached link below.

As a comment on the above post, I guess many of us struggled when we first tried to get set up. When I set up my first wordpress site it took me 3 days just to sort out the database and integrate it into the wordpress installation.

Then later I discovered there was a button within the control panel of the server that would do it all automatically. I won't mention some of the words that came out of my mouth.

However, I am still at it and now I can have a wordpress site up and running with a header image that I have created and at least one post in about half an hour.

Practice makes perfect. Lifelong learning is the key though.

I agree with you 💯% practice does make prefect however I must say that I prefer to use the phrase " If at first you don't succeed, try try again"

Jammy,

I can totally relate to situations like this. Starting off on something can seem like you're moving at a snails pace. But then after you've gone through it (at least once), and you learn something new, doesn't it seem like the work comes a lot FASTER after that?

I like being able to reflect back to being new at something and laugh.

Thank you for this post for it is keeping me inspired and something to keep in mind for future learning experiences. ;)

Yes (and no). You will certainly learn how to set it up and build a list. And you can always have sign-ups going to your site email, which is available here. However, if you are wanting to do some form of autoresponder series, you will need to use an outside source such as Mailchimp, Aweber, etc.

I personally type everything in Word and save it.
This way I can go over it as many times as I want to.
I can also use the spellinh and grammar check and even put in my H Tags and links.

When I'm 100% happy with it then I simply copy/paste it into a blank page in Wordpress.

Works for me Neil so maybe you should try it.

Hi Guys, I am just getting started with your program and just got done listening to your second video "choose your Niche" I am very interested in the dog niche. I just got certified as a "Raw Dog Food" specialist and now I am in the process to find out how many people are interested in finding out how they can give their dogs a better life through better nutrition in feeding vs. what is available in the market as traditional pet food nutrition . My husband is very interested in the CBD niche and we would like to get a little feedback on the CBD products as it relates to a niche as far as marketing on line goes. Hemp just got legalized with the government to be able to now grow and process industrial hemp to convert to the different CBD products like oils, creams, pet products etc. We feel that the CBD market is just at the beginning with lots of future potential. Is it possible to market hemp and CBD products online and if so, what part of social media marketing would you implement to market CBD products? We are to understand that most online marketing companies like google, facebook, amazon, ebay, etc. will not let you market CBD products including payment systems like paypal will not let you accept payments for these products.
How do you feel about this market in the present time, is it doable? Looking forward to getting set up and making money!! Thank you . Jutta
Reply
Jaz333 Premium
I am not certain on the legal aspects of CBD products but as far as a niche I think it's a great idea. Working as an affiliate marketer guiding customers to other's products may mean you won't have to worry about the payment end of it since you'll just be earning the commission by sending customers to others. If you wanted to design and market your own product down the line, you then would need to answer those questions but as far as affiliate marketing I think that is a very doable niche.
Thanks, Shannon

The video really shows how its important to start thinking about a niche. For instance I like becoming an affiliate with Amazon.

When at the same time I'm wondering how becoming an affiliate with WA would affect my desirable income in the future. What % could be expected from the affiliate program.
Reply
Kyle Premium
You will be able to become an affiliate of many different programs, amazon being one of them.

This doesn't have much to do with your niche, as within any niche there are going to be 1,000's of products/services that you can promote across a myriad of affiliate programs.

The commission % range from program to program, some 2%, some up to 75%. It just depends on the program.

Hi, small question. When searching for keywords on Jaxxy through WA (the Research button) or on the Jaxxy's official website, it wouldn't show me the QSRs automatically unless I click "Get QSR" which is displayed directly under KQI. So I would have to click on each row one by one (Get QSR Button) in order for it to pop up. Not sure if this sounds familiar, but is there a way for all of them to pop up automatically as shown in the training? Thank you

Well if you are looking to create and grow a business the PROPER way online, you are in the right place.

I have spent some time breaking down the process in the most simplistic way possible. Success online is at the core a 4 step process and I have broken them down within this video: Broken, down, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Choose your niche
Step 2: Build your website/content
Step 3: Get rankings in search engines (leads to traffic)
Step 4: Monetize your traffic (the make money part, through affiliate programs, etc!)

This applies in absolutely every niche and as you work through the training here at WA, you are going to be walked through this exact process. This is fundamental for ANY success online.

If you have any further questions let me know Jason. :)

Good to be back, after several months and continuing to work on my training. Just completed the "Keyword Mastery" class and it was fun watching the video tutorial and completing the exercises,. I did do about 7 searches choosing words that are related to my niche. Couldn't find a lot though that met the keyword criteria. Is that normal depending on my niche?
Reply
NickL88 Premium
Sometimes you just have to keep trying different combinations and phrases until you find keywords that meet the criteria. Remember the goal initially is to find keywords that are not competitive so that you can rank quickly and start to gain authority.

Then once you've done that, you can start to target the higher competition keywords.

I'm not quite sure what this is referring to. Is it necessary to install this plugin for this page theme? This is only necessary if you want the demo content (i.e. you want their pages, posts and images) on your site. Some people do so they start out with what they saw in the demo. Others prefer to start from scratch.

Ok, so I don't like trickery, but the video shows that the basic keyword search is available to starters and premium members, and according to the video (approx 4:20) it shows the QSR as being shown to beginning members, but then when you go and use it, there's no QSR listed, making the list ineffectual in regards to the instruction. Then when I went in and typed a keyword and looked at the results, when I hit the bottom to view the list, it charged me for another hit on the list. This is not straight forward. If you're going to give a taste of the actual product, you can't do so without actually giving access to the information. So, it's basically useless unless you pay a fee.
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
Whoa... slow down. You have access, so no point in getting upset until you have the facts.

Kyle is using the Enterprise version of Jaaxy in the video. It does everything automatically. When you are doing as much keyword research as him, you will likely need it to. However, it is a paid service and you don't need that at this level.

Included with your membership is the Lite version. You have to do everything manually, but it is still all there. Find the keyword you are interested in and scroll over to the QSR column. Click on the link that says "Get QSR" and it will pull the number for that keyword.
Reply
AJ, we just spoke under the other medium. I didn't see your comment down here. Is there any way to recover the first inquiry I did in which I didn't realize that these options were available and just "x"'d out of it? Or is that lost forever?
Reply
webcash2us Premium
Perhaps you misunderstood, but the lite version of Jaaxy requires you to actually click on the blue highlighted Get QSR link of the keywords you want the numbers to. Many people have made this mistake, but Jaaxy works perfectly and there's no trickery or any fee's with the lite version.
Reply
Yes, I understand the process now. Thank you. But I did my first search and thought I did something wrong because of the missing information, so I x'd out of that one and did a new one, to which by instruction by others and yourself, was able to click on the proper link to uncover the information. My question pertains to the first search I did. Is that saved that I can go back and view the information, or is that lost forever since I x'd out of it?

hope that helps you.

Not sure why that is but you can login into your WP Admin area from Site Manager and edit your headings there.

The other option is just write directly in the back end of your site instead of using Site Content. I always use my site instead of Site Content.

The advantage of site content is the goal setting and free image search, but you can still search those images out in Site Content and then download to your PC or laptop first then upload to your site via "Add Media" button while you're in edit mode of your posts.

I hope this helps a bit,

In the very first page I stumbled on, you shared the hard, cold truth that most fail at making money with internet business. Do you have a success rate percentage for your program? Also, if I steadily work through this training and apply it to build websites, is there an average length of time I can expect to start earning good money? Any ratios you can share on time/money investment to earnings would be helpful. I do understand it takes time and work. Thanks!

That question is a tough one because everyone works at a different pace and they all have different websites. Once committed here and you complete all of the training you can start seeing decent traffic in under 6 months. The money would depend on the products and how effective your content might be. 12% Upgrade here at WA, not sure on total platform success because there's people that have been here over ten years and WA has 1.5 million. This platform will teach you the process and how to succeed if you're premium.

Hi, I am new to this site and using the free starter version. I just finished editing the privacy policy and published it to my site, but after following all the instructions in the video and following along, I noticed that the Privacy Policy on the website is different than the one I edited.
It has multiple headings listed between some of the paragraphs with nothing underneath them, and the paragraphs have different content than the ones I was shown in the template. Did I do something wrong, and if so, how can I fix it?

Just replace with your infos everywere, it is ok. I had the same thing when i did it.

Just an FYI, I am unable to watch the video (sad face). Here is the message that shows on the video for me “media playback aborted due to a corruption problem or the media used features your browser does not support”. I was able to watch the video on the previous lesson just fine. I am hoping that everything in the video is also written in this lesson.

That was very interesting. However, to use an old English expression,"I really can be as thick as mince!". The theme I have chosen is called Jumbo Headline - when quite obviously I should have selected Hero. Why complicate something when there is no need, I ask myself. Please show me how to change to Hero.

Within your website dashboard, just under the "customize your site" button is "or, change your theme completely." Pressing that will allow you to go back to the themes to pick another.

So here I am questioning whether or not I should attempt this. I am here in China, teaching for the first time, I realize I have the same problem here as I do back home. I don't earn enough to do the things I want.

Is this something that is doable while in China? Would earning money work with a PayPal account?

YouTube is definitely a worthy investment (if you are aiming at that). Here at WA main focus is writing, but we are encouraged to make videos also, so I think you could fit well.

Why not make a video and then write it down what you were talking? I think that would be a good way to create your talking to text and make your articles :)

Tell me what you think of that idea and did it help? Or you still have doubts?

Wow, that ended quite abruptly. From the posts I found of WA while job searching, I was under the impression that everything needed to get your business up and working was included in free membership. Not just the fundamentals of getting the website up. While I truly believe in this program, with a small monthly SSI disability income I just can't afford $49 a month. Maybe in the future. I wish everyone luck on their journey. I hope one day I'll be able to return.

You can. You have fundamental knowledge about everything needed to build your business and get it rolling: choosing a niche, having a FREE website, choosing keywords and researching them, writing quality content, making pages and posts, menu...

In essence, that is everything you need.

Hi Monica

Don't give up, as Dalibor said you have the core knowledge to keep building out your site. You can write blog posts using keywords and just keep adding to your site until you can afford to go Premium.

None of that will be wasted and you will be so much further advanced with your business when you can upgrade.

My best wishes to you, no matter what you chose.

I can understand your frustration which relates to your condition and truely sorry to hear that.

Although I am new not only to this community but also to the whole internet money making scheme all I can understand nothing is free and easy in this world - but with WA they will guide you every step of the way in making it happen (that is your internet store and ideas to be successful in online making money). Of course, beyond that is up to the person him/herself what they want to do with their website.

Trust me, I have gone through so many things in my past in order to be successful of what I was doing at the time, however, it never happens until I found this site where I starting to believe that I might have found the light of my life in it through WA as they slowly proving themselves on what they have promised after been following their recommendation - ie. support.

All I can say is hang in there and try working out what people’s need when they shop online. Easiest way to find out is by communicate to your surrounding if they do online shopping and what do they buy. Then, from there you decide what you want do sells your website while you putting out your very own personalised website to suit then grow from there.

Like I said, I am still new but this is what I will do for myself and believe nothing is better than knowing the needs of your own people that live around you as a whole,

I hope this help and wish you all the very best on your journey whichever side you going to choose.

Cheers,
Rueby.

Hi everyone! Question: I am not sure whether to target my business worldwide. My niche is upcoming in the Netherlands, although money earning wise (availability of affiliate programs) is more limited plus of course in comparison a relatively narrow target audience. Certainly insecure about my writing skills in English, thinking I will be unable to create quality content in a non-native language.

Any advice? Would love to target the Dutch audience. However is it wise to start with, during this learning phase (support/feedback/chance of succes-wise)?
Would love to hear your thoughts😊
Reply
Zasibel Premium
I would say that it would be a good idea to try your native language first in the learning phase. You can then get more comfortable about how the online world works etc. You can always build on to that specific niche and broaden it later on. As for the affiliate programs, it does not matter if for example i'ts based in US. I mean, when I look at Amazon, its US, but I know many South Africans who also purchase from them online. So you could still have customers purchasing from your site even if you are in a different country. Hope I make sense. This is just my personal opinion though. Let's see what others think as well 😊 All the best!
Reply
Otrera Premium
Thanks so much for your advice. It will be a little more easy to start in my native language. Actually, Amazon doesn't ship to the Netherlands (or with ridiculous high shipping cost). That was the one of the main reasons why I hesitated. However, as you mentioned, I can always broaden it later and first look at the possibilities here. 🙏🙏

In accordance with Kyle's video, I have a 'Home' custom link, an 'About Chris' link and a 'Privacy Policy' link set up under Menu Structure with the menu name Top Navigation.

My website is all black and white (which seems odd to me) and I haven't been able to set up any menu tabs....I have followed Kyle's leading but nothing happens even though I've saved changes and refreshed.

Did you make that your "top menu" within the settings. Naming it Top Navigation won't put it there, you have to set that menu as the Top within the drop down options in the menu creator.

Finally set up my website with the post and policy page.
When I open my website I have 2 pages of the Policy Page. I missed out initially on the NOindex and Nofollow tag. So went to edit that Page and after publishing saw 2 pages . Can this be corrected please?

Yes. The WordPress platform comes with a default policy page. So, just take a look at both of them and see which one you wrote and which one is the generic page that came with it and delete it.

I've had that happen myself. I think some themes may be including a policy page automatically.

Log into your websites wordpress dashboard. Go to pages tab. Simply delete the one that you do not want.

If you have all-in-one SEO installed, edit the page that you want to change to noindex, no follow.

It has to be able to purchase online. Otherwise your "website" can't sell them. You have to be part of an affiliate program to make money by reviewing products.

Is it okay if our niche is kind of broad? For my first niche, I’m interested in women’s health and beauty. Period products, medications, diet and exercise, makeup, skincare, bath and body. Maybe sexual wellness if that’s allowed. I realize it’d be my website that I’d be making but I didn’t know if that kind of thing would be inappropriate for this community. I want my first website to be a place that can help woman feel good about themselves.
Reply
ericcantu Premium
The reason you want to be specific with your niche is for conversions. In other words, if your website was about something broad like "women's health" you could have people showing up for a multitude of reasons but not finding what they were looking for. However, if your site was about something specific like skincare for women in their 40's, well now you have a very targeted audience arriving at your website and the potential for them to find what they're looking for is very high, meaning high conversions.
Reply
BeckBeck823 Premium
Ohhh okay! I think I’ll stick to period products to start with. There’s so much out there and every girl and woman can relate. What do you think?
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
First of all, anything can be a good niche depending on how you spin it. Those are all popular topics, which is good, but it also means they are the most competitive as well.

That's why we teach to niche "down" to something much more specific. It's far easier to rank for and find traffic. So-called “just a little bit of everything” sites like you're proposing almost never work unless you already have an audience.

When selecting a niche, I always recommend going with what you are most passionate about. One tip that has always helped me is to look at it this way:

Pick something that excites you. You are going to be creating a lot of content over time, with little reward in the beginning, so what topic (niche) would you talk about most, even if you weren't getting paid for it?

For instance, my niche is the topic of writing. I am constantly talking about it and helping others with their writing, have done so for years, and up till now never made a dime at it; I just enjoy it and love sharing that passion with others. In other words, I can't imagine NOT talking about writing.

The only difference now is that I am sharing it in the form of a blog that I have monetized.

Put some time and thought into this. If you choose something you aren't excited about, you will likely burn out long before you get enough content out there to be successful.

Hope this helped. :-)
Reply
BeckBeck823 Premium
Out of all of the topics I wanted to talk about, period products are probably my biggest thing. I know it probably sounds weird that I get excited over that kind of thing but it’s something I have to deal with once a month, every month. Over time I’ve come to find my favorites but I’m still exploring that world and finding even more favorites. Period products are a necessity so I think I could get a lot of traffic if I try hard enough.
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
Perfect!

And don't worry if it sounds "weird". In fact, that's precisely what makes it a great niche... most women need it; but it's such an uncomfortable topic to talk about for most people, there is likely little competition. You won't know for sure, however, until you do your research.

Now start brainstorming some keywords you might go after and run them in the Research Tool. Once you've identified the ones with good numbers, make a master list of posts you can write for each keyword. And don't forget to check out the competition. Plug those keywords into Google and see what you're up against.

I think you're on to something here :-)
Reply
BeckBeck823 Premium
Thank you sooo much for you help! I will definitely use that research tool. I’ve never understood why that’s such a taboo thing to talk about but I think it needs to be talked about. I’ve googled things about that before and found little to no answers because no one ever talks about it. And if they do, it’s the same exact thing that everyone else says. I want to be able to help girls and women with the things I had to figure out for myself.

I need an assistance, as I have created a website where in I have not mentioned one word which is 80% important to my website link want to know is there any possibility to edit website link.

And my second query is, my niche is apparels and in my website I have mentioned Mr and Mrs that mean I have to focus on both I.e: men and women. In this scenario do I have to focus only at one or will be okay both.

Awaiting for response,

Mukhtarul.

Hi, Mukhtarul.

I could not find inside WA platform a way to change the website link, it could be possible to change directly at your wordpress platform, the question is if it will automatically change at WA?

Another alternative is to create a new one and delete the older, as it could seem a lot work, it'll be also more experience for you as in "pratice, pratice a pratice", right?

As for your second, "apparels" seems to be too broad of a category, it could be hard to maintain specially if you are begining.

What I would do is focus on a smaller segment like party dresses for women or sport clothes for men, of course that you should choose something related to what you have first intented.

As you gain more experience you can advance to another niche, and another, until you cover the full spectrum.

I hope that helps as I'm too in the beginning, any criticism to my approach is very welcome.

And sorry for my english as it's not my mother tongue. 🤓

Cheers from Brazil!

Don't worry about upgrading. That can always come later when you are ready. The main thing is to walk through the lessons to understand how to make your website. I learned the hard way...created a website too soon...I know it appears to be one of the first things you need to do, however, I had to conduct my own research, outside of WA, to learn how others were using the Affiliate Programs. The more knowledge I gained, the more questions I had circling around in my head. I have just chosen my website name and finally decided on which WP Them I wanted to use...after needing to delete the first one that I selected.

Also, don't be afraid to upgrade if you need to. It's only $19 the first month, you can cancel after that if you want, and you will have a full month to really dig in and see if this is for you. :-)

Don't upgrade until you are ready. Just keep going through level 1 until you understand. Make good use of the next couple of days to ask relevant questions and take action on the answers.
When you have got your head around everything, then upgrade for even more training and community access.
You can stay a starter member as long as you need but you must log in and work on the training.

Am I going in the right direction with this course, or should I be doing the other course for WA. Now doing this I will have to buy alot of domain names, and building alot of different sites. I think you have a good idea in the niche. However, come up with a plan to set them all within the "digital products" and create one or two domains. Once your start create more domains, you now have more to work on everyday.

Also, you may lose focus on getting traffic and SEO pointed in your direction. Think of it like traveling to a location, there are many different routes to travel.

How many can you travel at once?
If you try to travel multiple directions, the confusion and misdirection will increase your travel time.
But if you focus one direction. The trip will be forward with less confusion and hopefully less time.

Hi - yes, you should just have one niche per website. You wish to be seen as an authority in your subject, not somebody who "dabbles" in lots of things.

Plus, you will confuse your visitors. If I go to your site to read about football, I don't want to see articles on men's clothes. I would soon leave, then you have lost a potential customer.

Of course. Wealthy Affiliate's primary "mission" is educating new entrepreneurs. Thus, you can certainly use what you learn here to create and/or improve any website. :-)

Hello everyone, I have begun creating content for my website. I just finished the last lesson/tasks. (Level 1, lesson 7) I had a little difficulty in typing up the first section of my page(my device), looking for feedback on the way it looks so far.
Is there a way for people here to look at my website and provide feedback on what ive accomplished so far? (Still early in process, but any feedback will help.) When choosing my domain name, i accidentally spelled a word incorrectly and noway to fix that now, but in terms of readability please let me know what you think.
Thank you

Hi Kayla,

thanks for your question.

You can request feedback for your website from other WA members here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/website-feedback

And here: Just keep in mind that those who give you feedback might be just starting out their journey in WA. So take the feedback always with a little bit of grain of salt. Some members who give feedback may also be experienced members.

Let's keep in touch!

Hi .. I am new here, just joined and I am going through training, I am total begginer in affiliate marketing even though I have my own website which I created on wordpress 1 year ago and I know what Affiliate marketing is and proces behind it but I never started because I am overwelmed with informations and just been searching for something like this to get me started on the whole process because I dont think I can do it alone, so what is your advice please? Should I shut down my website in wordpress and focus just here in nww one ? Any advice please?

You don't have to use the website platform here if you don't want. You can use an existing site that you already have set-up with the training here or you can start fresh.

Sometimes with an existing site there may be some things that you have done in the past that could be hurting your rankings (backlinks, spun content, duplicate content, low quality content), so starting fresh and doing things properly from the start can be advantageous. But this is totally up to you.

Either way, I am here to help you along the way Sasa!

I’m curious as to what different ways people communicate during the fresh stages of someone joining. I am interested in a Zoom or Skype session, with a knowledgeable veteran.. I guess you could say. I just want to know more and really get some questions answered face to face.
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
Not sure about the "face to face" as many of us are extremely busy. But as far as knowing more, just follow the training program step-by-step and try not to move on to the next lesson until you have completed all the recommended tasks and checked them off the checklist. This is important because later lessons are often built on the foundation work you did previously.

What I am getting from this video is that I have to choose one thing. Now Can it be a line of products? I want to make my niches in the world of organic products, like makeup, antiaging products, hair products, clothes, food, homes, etc. So, if I want to start one niche let's say makeup. Do I have to choose, just lipsticks, or foundations, etc? Can I let's say choose foundations and then from there branch out to make up? Thank you all so very much for your help!! ;-)
Reply
YvetteC2 Premium
As you are thinking about your niche, think about what products you can write a lot of articles about. I am not familiar with the make up niche, but is it possible to write several articles about just lipsticks? Or just foundation?

What you may want to consider is when you are creating your menu, have a menu topic "lipstick", then another menu topic "foundation", then another menu topic "concealer", etc. Then add your products under each one of those menu items and write about different kinds of lipsticks, perhaps giving reviews on the best ones to use because they last longer or they are organic, or whatever, etc. Whichever product brands you choose to write about, after you've built your traffic, find out if those brands have an affiliate program and then promote those items on your site.

These are all just thoughts and suggestions that I hope you find helpful. If not, then totally ignore me. LOL.

Wishing you all the best.

Warm regards,
Yvette

It's about the niche to choose.
I'm a biz broker and help people buy biz, and new buyers become entrepreneurs.
I also have been cooking many kinds of food/recipes for more than 40 years.
Right now the kitchen/food/herbs-spices/appliances, etc is really fun for me. But, I'm concerned about writing something and it not really being the right thing to say.
On the other hand, I would have some expert consulting advice for new entrepreneurs in choosing the best way to get into biz.
It seems Kitchen would be an easier niche to promote, though.
What are your thoughts about the better niche?

Hi - if you create a site using the free ones which you are given as a starter member, then no, you don't own it.

If however, you purchase a .com domain, then yes, you have the full rights to it, and if you leave WA, you can take it with you to another hosting provider.

Nobody on this platform can see your website if that is what you mean by your other question, unless you share a link to it in your profile.

I am certainly planning on upgrading to Premium at some point, although I am brand new to this concept of affiliate marketing and am wanting to minimize the financial risk involved in a new endeavor such as this. Is it possible to be able to begin bringing in income without having to pay anything out of pocket to get started or will the premium membership be necessary prior to bringing in any income whatsoever?
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
Yes and no. Upgrading to premium is not required, of course. And some people have been successful with only a free site. However, they generally came in with prior knowledge and experience.

If you are a complete beginner it can be tough without it. You can always supplement your education with things like YouTube and the like, but just know that doing it on your own is harder and will most likely take longer with more "hiccups" along the way. There's just so much to know to do this right, and sometimes the littlest thing can set you back.

It is healthy to be skeptical. And, for what it's worth, I was the same way. But I decided to take advantage of the $19 first month deal and I haven't looked back since.

Just do what you feel works best for you at the moment.

Hope this helps :-)
Reply
Nwebster89 Premium
Yes, this helps me very much. I suppose $19 is just a $20 bill and I can sacrifice a few coffees this month in order to make a solid go of this. Thanks for the heads up and advice, and I'll upgrade to premium first thing tomorrow after I get some sleep. Take care and thanks again.

Hello all. I'm brand new to WA today. Not an April fool as it were. I have a simple question. Does anyone have statistical data on which affiliate sites do the best for marketing? Which website get the most hits per day. per week, per month etc? Obviously, getting into an affiliate provider that pushes your product you promote seems to me to be the key to success.

the evergreen niches are the ones that do the best- health wealth and happiness, but they are the hardest ones to break into.
but you shouldn't come into this just to make money - it really should be helping first, so they value you.
with that in mind anything you are good at can be valued.
if you want stats or comparisons then go to google trends and see what is the latest and greatest, but next month it wil lbe something else.
you are better off creating a site about something you know well and care about to help others who care about the same.
good luck

Product reviews are a great niche to break into. People tend to research a product before they make a purchase. Many members have had great success with this. The type of product you review is up to you but electronics are very popular.
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
Not necessarily. The key to success is going with a niche that you are passionate about. You will be writing dozens, if not hundreds, of articles about your topic, and if it is not something that you feel inspired enough to work for months on end without seeing any results, then you will burn out long before you get there.

Thank you so much for the frank and honest insights. Your reply paralleled my intuition exactly. I was merely curious. My motives for going into this arena were two/fold as I mentioned in my introduction to WA members. Being unemployed at 65 and needing to support a family is a daunting challenge I never expected to facing. Secondly, and perhaps in the long-run, I would like to create a long-term business that provides the opportunity to help lots of folks besides myself. So, thanks again for your reply.

Dave, not a nice situation to be in, but you are now entering a world full of opportunity - almost too much.
there ar many ways of making money online, from very short term to creating a long term stable business.
what you are taught here is how to create the latter, it does take time to build the momentum, as i am sure you know with your business.
building trust takes time and effort. I am of the firm belief that everybody needs multiple forms of income, so if one happens to drop then the other support you.
but concentrate on one to start with.
here, if you go premium, then you will have a stable, secure, safe base to start your online learning process.
If you think of this as a place where you have people who have tried loads of different thinngs online - some work, some don't.
using this platform as hosting- especially if you an go yearly with a black friday deal - you are getting a good deal, and you get the training and community thrown in for free. so you can setup a trial site to create landing pages, create ads to drive traffic to it and see if it works, nope - never mind you only lose the cost of the ads and can ask in the community if they know why it didn't work.
you can learn all about local seo, and offer this to local businesses you know, setting up their sites on your account - to cover the ongoing cost of membership. you have hosting for 25 sites and 25 free siterubix sites.
so here there are endless possibilities.
I wish you well with your online journey Dave.

Hi there. I miss spelled my name above it's Derek
I wanted to say that, I'm very interested in the program
and been searching for something like this for a long long time. And have my niche. The thing that is bothering me is, I'm to the point of my financial situation is in a scary spot right now. I have a beautiful wife and step kids. I've had 2 lower back surgery's with in 5 years apart. The 2nd one did not go well. My working days in the work force is done.
I want to go on to the Premium Member after my training. But I was on Unemployment sick leave and it ran out. If I decide to do this and use what I have left, will I be able to get results before the end of the month of April. If so I'm really willing on working really really hard to do so and expand.

If there is an answer for me please let me know.

AJTrimble1 Premium
Hey, Derek. Just hang in there, brother.

So, here's the deal... it's really hard to answer your question properly because there are just so many variables that affect your business. It will depend on your niche, your competition, the quality of your content, how much content you put out, and a dozen other things.

Some members make money relatively quickly, and some take more time. It is not, however, get rich quick by any means. It's a business like any other.

Having said that, I totally get it. My wife and I have been homeless in the past and I know tough times.

So, what I would recommend for you is to just start with the free siterubix account. Pour every free minute you have into it.

Will it take longer? Yes. Will you have to do some "outside" education through other how-to sites, YouTube, books, etc.? Yes. However, it can be done. We have members that have most definitely made money with a free site.

If you create enough quality content, Google will have no choice but to acknowledge your site because you are delivering what their customers are searching for. At the end of the day, they could care less if your site is paid or free; bottom line, are you delivering the goods?

All you can do is what you can do. But I promise that as long as you don't give up, you will get there. :-)

Thanks. That dose help. But I'll admit I'm scared. My niche is on electronics the fun part of electronics. From toys to tools. And the other one I have in mind on is mechanics. I've grew up in it but it's the old school back yard mechanics. I don't know which one to pick. I've tried another affiliate thing in the past and it was so complicated. What I like about this one is that I will admit I just watched the free training on how it works. But didn't do anything, do to my situation. I've never got answers this quick when I brought my screen up to look. Thanks again.

Don't be scared. Fear is nothing more than an expectation of the unknown. But what we offer here is about as close the opposite as you can get. We cover everything step-by-step in intimate detail. If you follow the training you will succeed; it's only a matter of time.

Take some time to cruise through my blog posts. I cover several topics that may help: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/ajtrimble1/blog

As far as which nice to choose, either one is great. Electronics is always a hot market, and an "old school back yard" mechanic site would likely do extremely well. Regardless of which way you go, however, there is a catch...

Don't even begin to tackle a niche head on. What I mean is don't just create another generic, all-purpose website that looks like a million other sites out there.

These are really competitive niches, and both have some really big players in them. I hate to say it, but you will simply get crushed. The big dogs, so to speak, have been around too long and hold too much authority for a brand new site to knock them off their throne.

That's not to say you can't rank, though. The key is to come at them from an "angle". Find a way to be different and appeal to a smaller sub-niche.

For example, my newest website is in the writing niche. Now, you want to talk about a highly competitive niche! lol. There's no way I'm going to rank on the first page against sites like http://writing.com, http://writermag.com, and http://writersdigest.com. Those guys OWN that topic.

But by combining two of my favorite passions -- entrepreneurship and writing -- and targeting small business owners to teach them how to use the power of creative writing to marketing their products and services, I have tapped into a previously underdeveloped niche that is performing quite well and is ahead of schedule.

Just set aside an afternoon and brainstorm some ideas. And keep me posted on your progress :-)

I have found a list of keywords.

Some keywords with a few thousand searches , those keywords are related to part of my niche.

Some keywords which I am more familiar with, with less average searches

Question 1. the keywords with free online English courses, free online writing courses, free xxx generates higher average search.
But those who search for free stuff are less likely to buy something?????

So the keywords belong to 2 different niches.

I am quite confused which niche I should choose now. Do you choose a niche you are slightly less familiar with (but with much higher average search)

or do you choose a niche which you are more familiar with (but with more competitors? and lower average search)
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
Regardless of what niche you choose you are going to find competition if it's a good keyword, so don't let that scare you. As long as your numbers are in line with what Kyle outlines in the training you're fine.

Once you find some keywords that work, head over to Google and plug them in. Look over the sites that are already ranking for those keywords and see how they look. The trick is to figure out what you would have to do to take their spot :-)

Don't doubt yourself Chrissi. Go with your instinct. Remember, the About Me page is about you. You can say whatever is in your heart to say. Through the training you will come to see that later on you get to talk about the product and anything else you want in different posts. Remember its your website, your design, your thought processes. In time we learn how to put it all together in order to promote those products and get the leads. You can always go and change it later on if you feel that it needs changing too :) You got this. Don't stress. Enjoy the process, don't overthink

You're about me should be about you as an author and not about the products you wish to promote. Describe you, your niche, and if you choose to add a missions statement for your blog based home business like the one I outline in this blog post.

Hi - that sounds pretty good to me. Your readers want to know about the real person, it builds up trust. You don't want to come across as "salesy" - there will be plenty of other opportunities to talk about products.

Oh thank you! That is great feedback. Gosh, starting up is challenging, you think all you do is wrong , but you are right , things can always be changed later.
