Lesson 1, Getting Rolling!

First off, we would like to personally welcome you to Wealthy Affiliate. I am Kyle, co-founder of Wealthy Affiliate and I am going to be the one walking you through the training and the process of building a successful business online.

Carson, the other co-founder works more with the technical team (close to 30 full-time employees) so you will see a bit less of him, although he is still very much active here within the community every day.

Here is a photo of us and our families below (me and my family on LEFT, Carson and family on RIGHT). :)

Our goal in the early stages here is EARN your trust and help you get moving in the right direction with your business. We realize that the industry is full of companies that are not all that trustworthy and it has been our mission over the past 14 years to do things differently. Wealthy Affiliate has been around since 2005, and during this 14 year period we have helped close to 1.7 MILLION people during this time!

The community here is full of amazing people, with a lot of expertise. I know you are going to quickly realize that. In fact, you are going to be able to tap into this knowledge an expertise at any point as you move forward in the training.

I assure you that you have definitely made the right choice in joining the community here at Wealthy Affiliate, you are going to love it here and you are going to quickly realize we care about YOU and your success online!

In the coming days and weeks we are going to be showing you how online success works and we will help you realize your own potential within the Internet space to earn revenue and leverage the internet to grow a business.

Before we continue, we want to point out a few important things:

(1) Anyone Can Accomplish Success Online. There are now over 4 BILLION people using the Internet, regardless of the direction you head online there is a very large number of people there that you can connect with and leverage to create a business online. Members here at WA succeed at the highest rate out of any platform online!

(2) Anything NEW Can "Appear" to be Overwhelming at First. Like riding a bike, it is normal to feel overwhelmed and even "fall" a few times when getting rolling. Don't worry, you will quickly get the hang of things! Stick with Wealthy Affiliate and you will achieve, and far exceed your goals. We teach what works.

(3) No Technical or Prior Online Business Experience Required. If you have experience that is great, but it is definitely not a requirement here at Wealthy Affiliate. Everything related to online business can be learned here within your membership and you definitely do not need to be a "techie".

(4) Success is a Journey. Success is very cumulative by design. This means that everything you do now, and every step you take will contribute towards your personal success in the future. An exciting journey does lie ahead and the effort you put forth now will pay off later and often times forever!

A Quick Look at How YOU Will Be Creating Success

Success online is very simple at it's core. There is a 4-step business building process that you are going to be learning here at Wealthy Affiliate. Here is a quick diagram breaking down the process.

Broken, down, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Choose an Interest. This can be anything at all, any interest, passion or even something you have no personal experience with.

Step 2: Build a Website. Your website is your foundation and we have the most sophisticated and feature rich website and hosting platform here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Step 3: Attract Visitors. You are going to be learning all about how to get traffic and visitors to your website. The first focus is FREE traffic and there is A LOT of it out there.

Step 4: Earn Revenue. Once you have people on your site and traffic, you can earn revenue. There are over 50 ways you can monetize traffic online, and over 550 MILLION products/services that you can promote as an affiliate.

As you go through the training, this is going to be covered in detail. As mentioned, absolutely EVERYTHING you need is here at WA to facilitate this process! It is a true "earn while you learn" environment.

Before we go any further...

We want to give you two simple pieces of advice within the Wealthy Affiliate community.

Piece of Advice #1: Do not be afraid to ask questions! There is 100,000's of people here within WA at any given moment and many, MANY experts. If you need help, please ask!

You will also notice that you have access directly to a coach within WA (see image below), either myself or possibly the person that referred you to WA. You can communicate here if you ever need a hand.

Piece of Advice #2: Take action on what you learn! Action leads to success. You could read and watch the training until you are blue in the face, but if you never take action on it you won't achieve any success.

We don’t want to put any pressure on you and definitely do not want to overwhelm you as you get started, so we are going to give you three simple tasks to perform (as noted below). Spend a few minutes today and complete these tasks! :)

You are currently reading lesson 1 of a 10 lesson Getting Started Course. This course is going to step you through the process of getting started. It will answer all of the questions that you have about earning money on the Internet, and will reveal exactly how to do it.

If you ever need to get back to your training, simply click the Get Started Here button within the side menu. This "smart" button will always take you back to your last completed task and you will also see your progress through the training.

Click the "You Are Here" to get back into your training at any time.

Your Current Tasks :)

In this Lesson you will become involved and immersed within the awesome community here at Wealthy Affiliate. We are a community that cares about your success, and one where you will create wonderful relationships within the industry. You will soon learn that you can SUPERCHARGE your learning and ultimately, your success by being active in the community, and immersing yourself.

This starts with uploading a picture, adding a few words about yourself in your profile description, and getting involved in a live chat with others. These tiny steps are referred to as your "Account Setup" tasks which we will discuss below in a little more detail.

Right now, there is no reason to delay your training, let's get started with your Tasks for today.

Task 1: Watch The Walk Through Video Below

Your first task today is to watch the "Wealthy Affiliate Walkthrough - How YOU Can Benefit From WA" video. This video will walk you through Wealthy Affiliate, show you how to find your way around, show you how to get help, and ultimately show you how WA will help you succeed within the online world.

At any time if you have questions as you are watching the Wealthy Affiliate Walkthrough video, simply leave them in the comments section below the video and we will be more than happy to help you out. Remember, there is a TON of help available whenever you need it.

Task 2: Complete Your Account Set-up

Your next task is to set-up your Wealthy Affiliate account. Under your profile image, you will see FOUR circles. These outline the steps to complete your initial Account Set-up.

Setting up your Wealthy Affiliate profile only includes four items:

1.Adding a profile image (can be anything you want, including one of the default options)

2.Add a profile description. Again, you are in control. Share something about yourself, your interests, and perhaps why you are here at WA (and yoru goals online)

3.Start the training. If you are reading this, you have already started the training, so you will see this item already checked off.

4. Set Goals. Set some "money" goals for yourself here at WA. This is going to be great for motivation moving forward, but also will naturally lead to much more achievement.

Simply CLICK on these circles to initiate the set-up process for the corresponding item. If I want to add an image, I would click the first of the four icons.

This may seem very simple (and it is), but there are definite reasons that you are going to want to complete the account set-up process. Here are some benefits to setting up your account:

  • Leads to better networking within the community
  • Your “followers” within the community will go up at least 5x (in some cases)
  • People are more willing to help you if you have a profile
  • Adds a level of credibility within the community
  • Shows others that you are serious about SUCCESS

Immerse yourself within Wealthy Affiliate and you are going to experience a lot more success. It is a rare day within WA when you don’t get to brush shoulders with millionaire marketers hanging out within the community, so take this serious and make your profile (people’s first impression of you) a good one.

Goals are important for achievemenrt and success, so we recommend that you set these early on. And don't worry, as time goes on you can and likely will be setting new goals as you make progress!

Task #3: Understand Your Membership

If you joined for FREE, you currently have a Starter membership . This is the starting point of your success online. You get a good deal of access with the Starter level membership, but you need to know that there is MUCH MORE to be found at WA.

There are huge benefits to going premium when you are ready. Your last task for today is to take a second to learn about our Premium membership and how it differs from the Starter program and will show you just why Wealthy Affiliate is the most trusted and respected platform in the affiliate marketing/internet marketing world and as been for the past 14 years.

Get All of the "Juicy" Details About Premium Here!

You are in good hands here at Wealthy Affiliate. :)

Make us a Promise OK?

We want you to make us a promise today. We want you to give Wealthy Affiliate a chance first and foremost. We know that you may have had bad experiences online in the past and we want you to allow us to prove ourselves to you.

We care about YOU and we care about YOUR personal success more than you think.

Do we have a deal? :)

Again, we want to personally welcome you to the community and we look forward to helping you achieve success online, and far exceeding your expectations :)

Your friends,

Kyle & Carson

PS. When you are done your tasks, simply check them off below and then move onto the next lesson. And if you have any questions at all, please leave them in the comments below.

In the next lesson we are going to be talking all about Making Money! :)

Tasks 0/3 completed
1. Watch the Walk-through Video of Wealthy Affiliate
2. Complete the Account Set-up Process (image, description, goals)
3. Have a look at the Premium Membership Offer

Hi I have logged in here and see that your site starts off right away with training. I am currently on a very limited budget and want to know right up front what my investment is for training though our company prior to starting anything.
Will you please share that information with me at this time?

The membership that you are on is a Starter membership, which is completely free. There is one upgrade that you can make here and it is the Premium membership, which is the key to the community. Premium is $19 the first month, then it is $49 per month after the first month.

This includes absolutely everything you need to create and grow a business online from the training, weekly live classes, he support, the tools, the websites/hosting, the mentoring, network, exclusive access to all updates...you name it.

We also have a 6 month option for $234 which works out to be $39 per month when paid in full, and a yearly option of $359 which is a big discount and that works out to be $29 per month when paid in full. You can choose either or.

Hope this helps you out Peter and if you have any further questions let me know.

hi,
can your site lead to many different products for example, your site is about basket ball. can this branch into different topics such as basketballs, clothing, boots, training drills, nutrition etc so throughout your site you can direct people to many different products relating to basketball and therefore have a wide range of products to earn a commission off within your chosen niche?
thank you

Have you looked into:

1) Payoneer
2) Cryptocurrency wallets like Coinbase, blockchain?

These are only suggestions. I don't have any experience transferring payments from/to Ethiopia.

Hopefully, someone with experience can share in the comments.

Hi guys hope all of you are doing fine I have a question regarding the policy page First of all I have successfully inserted my web page email but why is it that mine is not highlighted like in the lesson? No 2 when I click view on my page there is an edit pen at the bottom page whereas its not there in the lesson. Last on the page its showing No category on mine is saying Uncategorized. Did I do something wrong? thank you all in advance

First you are trying to publish as a post instead of a page. Second you can choose to hyperlink your e-mail address but expect a lot of SPAM offers if you do. I unlink mine or change it to read something like me[at]domain.com to avoid scraper bots and a full inbox daily.
Reply
BvVugt Premium
Your email address will only be highlighted when you make it a link. Just like you'd make a link to another website or an affiliate link, you can make a link to email.

You see an edit pen on your page when you're logged in your website. When you log out, the edit pen disappears. You can see the edit pen, your website visitors do not.

Your category says uncategorized until you make categories in your Wordpress posts. Here's a tutorial on how to use them: Good luck and have fun!

This sometimes happens. Try switching over to the Chrome browser. I have found it to be the one that "plays" nicest with our videos for some reason. Firefox isn't bad either, but still glitches more than Chrome. Internet Explorer... forget it. lol

What browser are you on?

I recommend that you install Google Chrome as your browser. This will make your experience online that much better (and resolve any video playing issues if you are having any).

Hi everybody,
I am having some confusions about my niche.
I have already selected my niche. Now how do I write the contents?
Do I write the articles like a shopping website, like description of the product with the link to the affiliate site or should I write it like an essay-like article and insert the affiliate links in between?

Thanks.
Reply
ChristineDu1 Premium
Hi, I wouldn't write like an essay, that's boring and can be longwinded. I would write articles the way you're talking to someone. Imagine you're talking to a person, just be yourself.
Reply
DianeScorpio Premium
Hi - your website should be a mix of purely informational articles with no selling intent, plus product reviews, which is where you will add your affiliate links.

Start by writing some informational articles first, related to your niche, so as not to come across as too "sales-related".
Reply
SimonElias Premium
I asked kyle that ones, he told me to ask my self.
I want to help people that ______________.
and fill in the blank, and then i would know what to start writing about, 2 weeks later i have 6 posts. some are reviews and some are history about a brand or product. in some of the training he also said you dont want affiliate links in all your posts if you want google to take you seriously, write something about your niche, and then you link to another post where you can put in a few affiliate links
Reply
Edilberto1 Premium
You can start writing a content related to your niche. Your content is like you are talking to a friend a solution to his looking for something that you can help him.

Then if he is going to buy what he is looking for and that is your attached link, and you have the commissions for that products if your visitors of your site click that link.

From the "Choosing a Direction" video, it sounds like you basically recommend choosing a product or small range of products as your niche. For example, baby monitors as opposed to a more broad baby category such as baby products. So it should be pretty specific to a product like that?
Reply
DianeScorpio Premium
Hi - not necessarily products, more of a subject with which you can help other people. It needs to be something you are passionate about, so you won't get bored writing about it.

To use your example above, baby monitors may be a little too narrow, and not provide you with enough material to write about. You could broaden it to "essentials for a baby's bedroom", which then gives you lots more scope. You are then targeting an audience of first-time parents, and helping them get prepared for the baby.

Thank you, Diane! I do already have a blog set up that's about walking for mental health (although I delve into physical benefits as well). What are your thoughts on that niche as far as money-making potential? Anyone else's thoughts are welcome too!

Cant wait to start training level 2. Level one was so comprehensive. It still takes time and focus but it was laid out in such simple terms.

I attempted building a website in the past but everything was so complicated and there was no one walking me through the process so I never finished those projects.

I surely couldn't think about making money. This program is laid out in such a way that the concept of creating a website making money and all the important stuff in between, does no feel overwhelming.

Good night, sleep well or have a great day depending on which side of the globe you are on.

I got a little confused about where to ask my question. My 2 questions are: do I have to choose only one niche? And do I have to write a blog on my niche? I have so many but I think I can narrow it down to 2. How can I choose?
Reply
YumaBloggers Premium
You can have as many niche as you choose on separate domains but it's best advised to write on one of them, get it profitable, and then start another once you're established. It will keep you from getting over tasked especially trying to write 100 post for each in your first year to get them going strong.

Thanks, I think I will start with Wigs for hair. Now I'm inspired!

So far I have so many different niches in mind, but I have to narrow to one or two. I would love more experience in blog writing if anyone can help. I would love for people to come to my site and stay a while like it was their favorite store! lol.

A niche can honestly be anything, what are you passionate about? What are you interested in?

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

No worries. Just work with the free sites for now. You get access to them for six full months. Just be aware that this is certainly not a get-rich-quick thing. You're building a business just like any other, except you won't have the overhead of a traditional brick-and-mortar business. It's going to take time.

I am kinda lost on the niche part as I am not a writer, so writing reviews would be hard... especially when one doesn’t use every item. I would like to promote fitness and/or health & wellness. I am into trail running, so fitness may be a better way to start. I am still lost here though, so I hope for some valuable feedback. Thank you all!

hello in my own opinion I think go with a niche what you really like,at least you have an idea what you are doing.

My idea is build a web site dedicated to my passions, interests and hobbies. I have an eclectic range of subjects with varying degrees of knowledge, I would like to impart. These include:
Engineering (I am a chemical engineer with a particular interest in renewable energy technologies)
Mathematics (this has always has been a passion of mine, especially calculus)
Computer Programming (I am learning about Linux presently and hope to share some of what I learn in the not-too-distant future)
Music (I play guitar, although not very well. I am fairly competent in music theory however, at least at the most fundamental level)
Sport (I have a particular interest in triathlon and would like to share my thoughts on ways I motivate myself to train as well as programmes I use)
DIY (I have a few projects ongoing which I could make videos and share progress about)
Money will be generated in two ways:
1) Affiliate marketing
2) For the more educational aspects (i.e the maths page) I could give free taster lessons on (say) differential equations and ask people to pay for further lessons
I have absolutely no idea if any of the above will actually generate any money but I will definitely have fun trying!
Any comments, criticisms, observations would be greatly appreciated.
Reply
DianeScorpio Premium
Hi - that is a very diverse range of subjects, targeting several different audiences. You wish to be seen as an authority in a particular subject, not as someone who "dabbles" in lots of things.

You will also confuse your visitors. For example, if I found your site through searching for something guitar-related, but the rest of your articles were on engineering and maths, then I would soon leave and not return, then you have lost a potential customer.

If however, all your articles were on music, I may well bookmark your page, to return to for further advice.

Thanks for the feedback Diane, much appreciated. Your point about sticking to one niche is a good one well made. I'll consider sticking to one niche on a single website. What about different pages, each dedicated to a particular subject, would that work better or not?

WOW! That's a whole lot to have accomplished. Know that I've done it, but not entirely sure I KNOW it. So glad I can go back and review as needed. I'm sure it will get easier and more ingrained as I put it all into practice. Still using training wheels!!!

You can defiantly go back and review. Also remember too the training videos. Are amazing but really only the basics to get you up and running. With your Premium membership you have full access to the upcoming and recorded webinars.

If you click on the Live Events tab on the left menu there are hundreds of webinars that cover everything in great detail the videos are an hour or more on average. And can be searched for within the Live Events tab.

There is usually a new live webinar every Friday right now Jay has been discussing the ways of using instagram and how to incorporate it into your new business. Make sure to subscribe to them so you don't miss them, if you do it's ok they will be in the live events tab when your are ready.

The webinars are one of the most amazing tools that are provided here for us, make sure to take full advantage of them. They can tend to be over looked and the information is priceless.

I hope you're right. I don't envisage my website (which is not even built yet) generating any income for many months, if at all. I have to write the training modules for my various subjects of interest (engineering, mathematics and music theory) and make the videos as well as learn about the many aspects of affiliate marketing (creating links, increasing ranking in google searches etc etc). I still have to complete the WA training program and as a newbie have no idea whether my "slow and steady wins the race" approach will actually work.

One of the best things with WA is that you can work at your own pace there is no rush other than your desire to start earning.

I think all your niches are super interesting. I know most here wont agree with me but I like the idea of a website with many niches. for example I shop at the super store because they have food, electronics, insurance, and tons more items that I need and want in one place for my Convenience.

I have over 24 years of marketing and advertising experience.
I have been waiting for an opportunity like WA for a long time.

The most important thing is exposure. The amount of websites that we get for free and can host is ridiculous for the price we pay. It's unheard of anywhere my new marketing strategies that I just mentioned briefly in my second blog. Is all about multi niche websites.

How you build one website that has multiple niches. That website can turn into as many other new websites in minutes by simply coping from one to the other.

That means your main website that has all your niches Mathematics, music, engineering, sports, DIY, ETC. is now 5 plus new websites that you made in one spot first then just Click Copy Paste.

The math is simple you now have over 5 times the exposure the individual niche sites have links to all of the sites it connects everything in network.

For me I'm not a blogger I'm a businessman and here to earn and profit. The blog content on my websites is generated by members of the website community just like here.

The Wordpress themes with your Premium membership and the right plugins make them store front websites. They don't need to be blog sites.

I do my research always just in the last few days I learned That because of how other companies and people have been using Wordpress blog websites Google is changing how they look at them and rank them.

Single topic sites will be a lot harder to get good rankings on.

"Times are changing and we need to too."

Best of luck to you, be sure to let me know if you need any help.

Jonathon...

PS. Also with the multi sites it means more affiliates can be added and spread out covers more range more exposure more earning capabilities.

And right now we are at 349 approved affiliates.

Very glad to hear someone talk about NOT blogging. I am not a writer. I want to learn how the nuts and bolts of setting up a site and how to get it up and running. How do I create traffic? It seems so far that it will be done by a blog.. which is the part that really concerns me. Great post!
Reply
JonathonLowe Premium
Hey Bobby thanks for the like and the comment.

Don't worry traffic is easy the way the blogs works is the same as just having a website description on your home page its a post and technical a blog. the page gets set as a static page and lock that post.

And the way I see it if you have it as a blog and don't have the right settings your main page blog is constantly changing..

Which, means your keywords which are the most important part to get ranked in Google are gone as soon as the blog switches to the most resent on most popular etc. Depending on the main blog post setting.

A static page keeps what you put there, there and your keywords stay where they need to be.

As I mentioned keywords are the most important part. They can be hard. Once you understand how to search and the proper ones to select with practice it's super simple.

I have a keyword stacking strategy and with my experience my websites even in the first few days can generate over 45,000 views. Having no content other than the main page description and keywords.

I have shared my keyword strategy and will be putting it in on one of my next blogs. hello out there i am on lesson 9 now. I have done a few search on Jaxxy looking up the keywords that relevant to my niche. As i look at the traffic volume and the QSR neither one of them ranks high is that a good thing or bad inquiring minds would like to know.

Hi tommie so is using jazzy a requirement to establish a great niche?.

Jaaxy and keywords help with your google ranking. And generally deal with your niche. You can play around with words from your niche with any keyword generator like Jaaxy and possible find better words to use and also discover new niches within a niche.

And no it's not a requirement but can help when narrowing down niche ideas or expanding on them.

I will leave a link to my first blog below there are free tools to help everyone get a jumpstart here.

And I'll add a copy of my definition for jaaxy and the free keyword app that is in with the free tools below. in a sec here.

Hey Tommy this is some of the thing I was descussing about keywords yesterday .

The biggest thing with keywords to remember is that you want high search numbers but you want them to be low to med,. when it comes to competition. If you use the high competition search keywords that means that you are competing with the best in the business that pay up too and way over $15 per click to make sure they get found first.

One trick I use is too add all the low competition keywords that have an expected visit from the search numbers down to about 10,000 projected visitors per day. It works really well I have 3 sites up and running in the 9 days I have been with WA and combined in less than 4 days I have already had over 45,000 page views. And have only added the homepage keywords so far.

I have only used jaaxy a few times It gives. The numbers that I mention just differently from the free app pack that's in my first blog post.

I just looked through Jaaxy quick so I can explain it a bit better for you then I'll explain a bit more about the other app.

In Jaaxy the first number the AVG is the average number of searches that the keyword receives each month

Traffic is the expected visits to your website if you achieve first page rankings in the search engines

If you click get QSR it shows the number of competitors for that same word. And shows a coloured bar Green is great, Yellow is ok and Red is poor.

For jaaxy you would want Green bars with low competitor numbers and high AVG numbers. For example if your keyword is Green and has a number around 20 there would be at least 20 other competitors that will be competing with that keyword.

Unfortunately if you are not super rich and using google ad sense pay for click you would show up in number 20 of the search results. Remember too that its just for that one keyword so someone with more keywords in the same niche could change that 20 to 200000000000000000000000000000000000000

The way to beat the big guys that pay to have their sites first, they are all the ones usually right at the top of search pages and they say ads on them nowadays they are talking over the whole first web page results and more.

To beat them you need to have more keywords that have low competition that they or only a few of them are competing on. By stacking low keywords the combinations can out rank the other websites.

The free Link tracker app that's in the app pack I mentioned gives a lot more detailed info the output of the numbers. It show the number of Views for the keywords on google in the last month. The second section predicts the number of visits to your site usually around half of the previous months searches. The third section shows the competition level High , medium and low.

Thats what I was talking about earlier when I mentioned how I search for them. usually the key words will have over 150,000 views from the previous month with the second section being around 75,000 expected visits to you site per month. When I do my stacking I will select every low competition keyword down to 10,000 expected visits per month.

If you get a really unique keyword it will be first in the selection menu and have a low competition rating from my experience will have tons of other high ranking low competition results these keywords are the jackpot. My stacks usually will have over 100,000 to 1,000,000+ in expected views. Since I joined CJ affiliates that I talk about in my second blog post. And placed my affiliate adds around three days ago i have already had over 50,000 impressions meaning that in three days over 50,000 people have viewed my webpages. And shows me that the 100K to 1Million views pre month is right in the ball park of my keyword stacks.

The app also has a cost per click box that displays the price you could pay if you wanted too usually even with the low competition the prices are $1-5 minimum and $15 and up if they are high competition.

Not to sure how familiar you or anyone reading this is with pay per click but it means you can have your add with that keyword placed first or in the top how ever many of the other people that are paying for the click's. And means that every time someone clicks your add you pay google the set price per click every time. I believe you can add funds and cap your account. It's been years since I checked into it. And with how affiliate programs are it's pointless as most affiliates wont approve your applications because it violates their contract to use any pay per click option.

It also displays the keyword Difficulty. In the keyword planner and has tons of other options.

As I've mentioned it is free and is free for life. when it's downloaded the first time it has a seven day trial notice that pops up. I'm just looking into it now it is free for life when the 7 days runs out if you click upgrade it will jump you to an options web page one of the options is free forever when you return to the app there is an registration key box. underneath the heading Registered By it says FREE LICENCE under that is the place for the actual Registration Key for the free licence.

Which I haven't been able to find as of now there are tons online but the are hacked ones from keygen's which is fine if they are just for the free licence. But if they are for one of the full licences it's copy write theft.

Not to worry though I have already emailed the company to see where the key is it probably was in the first email that I can't find.

Check it out if you want I should have the free key problem figured out in 7 days.

I can't stress how important keywords and keyword staking is before using the free app I have had and still have a paid Keyword search app thats only $4 a month it works pretty good Jaaxy lite is really good pretty sure the full version is amazing.

When I do keyword searches I usually use two or more apps at the same time. It's awesome that they include Jaaxy lite for us. It's always good to have lots of tools.

Hope this helps let me know if you have any other questions.

Best of luck Tommie...

To add the main keywords for the home page I believe it's done through the all in one SEO pack plug plugin. I tried checking but mines down at the moment upgrading.

You can add your keywords to you home page title the more keywords from your keywords list that are on your home page the better your rankings will be google searches for them.

And uses them to verify your site. For example if you had an adult site and use unrelated keywords that generate high traffic and don't have them on the home page googles algorithms know somethings is shady and will literal skip the site all together it's one of the ways they keep crap out of our searches.

Your keywords should blend in with your blog. In other words they should not be so obvious ,or repeated so often , that Google will see it as spam. I prefer to use my keyword phrase (long tailed keywords)in the title and once more within the first half of the blog. Jim

Can I make money as a starter membership? Hello, My name is Khadija Wilkins and I literally just joined today. I like so far what I'm hearing but I also been through PLENTY of scams online!!! Even lost tons of money. I DON'T have ANY money to spare right now but that could change in the future. However, I'm willing to give WA a chance and I will follow the necessary steps. Hopefully, it will be a wonderful experience as I am reading. Nice to meet all of you!

I totally hear you on the scam part. I have over 12 years experience in affiliate marketing. I have been a member here for about nine days and can honestly tell you this is the opportunity I have been looking for for over 12 years.

I can't guarantee you will make money as a starter member., I do know that WA gives you two free websites and will keep them for 6 months free. After that they are cancelled unless you go Premium. In the first week you get unlimited access to all the chat and communication features. They are limited after the first week as a starter. here you have an amazing community thats here to support and help you every step along the the way.

I'll add my two blog post there what I have shared just in the last few days and will be sharing lots more you can tell me if it's useful I designed them to be able to help give everyone here a jump start free of charge,

I don't know your level of affiliate marketing skills but with the information in the blogs you could possible be making money in the first week. And I don't mean a fortune but generating money from clicks that become sales that eventually one day hopefully turns into a fortune. Again this depends on you and how hard you are willing to work and the knowledge you have already. In my first week I built 2 websites. Found an affiliate company through WA, it's CJ affiliates, I applied to 2778 affiliate programs through them and have been approved for 335 so far in my second blog I tell you how I did it and how you can too.

I did all this in the first week. I purposely waited to get my Premium so I could see exactly what could be done. I would have paid for it instantly if there was only an hour trial. And like you I'm spread pretty thin right now with everything that's going on with my business expansions.

You have the first week with almost all the features. I'd get as much done here as you can I'm sure you will be amazed like I was and know you will choose to go premium, and have six months to
before you really need to stress

Best of luck to you, let me know if you need any help and never be afraid to ask anyone here for help anytime even if one of us might not know the answers we will help you to find them...

You can go through your site dashboard and see if it's there as a option, but most of the time things like sidebars, footers, etc. are all controlled by the theme you are using; in other words, some themes were simply build without them. Play around with it to be sure, but you may have to select a different theme that includes the features you desire.

I had a problem with things not showing when I first started. Not sure if it is the same thing, some of my images and things I was adding weren't showing because my web browser pop up blocker was blocking them. They were there but blocked.

Not sure if it is the same but try adjusting your pop up blocker settings. Mine allows me to turn them off per website. I'm using the new free browser Brave its Google based and they even pay you for using it.

Jonathon...

They pay you? wow.

Yes it's not much but anything is better than nothing I'm at $1.03USD in about 10 days. It's super cool because they block all the adds and suggest adds to you if you view the adds they pay you around 3 cents and I checked they even pay if you check the same add more than once.

It was suggested to me by another WA member because my Safari browser didn't work at all with the WA website and was crashing out while I was trying to watch the training videos.

If you use the Brave browser be sure to shut off the pop up blocker on the WA website, your website builder dashboard page
and your main websites. It blocks everything literally. If a website seams like it didn't load right or is missing things turn off the pop up blocker and it will reload and not be hiding the missing things.

To turn off the pop up blocker click on the Lion Head it's at the top right. If it's on it will be orange and if it's off its grey. you just click the shields on or off from the drop down menu that appears when you click the Lion Head.

Jonathon.

PS Make sure that everything is saved before turning the shields on or off.

Can I delete my initial wordpress website? I believe its niche to not be viable. I have considered other possible viable niches and would rather promote them. Hey Mike

Unless you have already used all of your free sites I wouldn't delete it.

You might find something that will jump start that niche again and you don't want to loose all your hard work and start again.

I recommend building your new site keep the old.

In your new site you could mention your old one and add a link to it, it could possible take off with the exposure on your new site. Just as an example...

Jonathan's advice is bang on. Park up your website and start a new one. You never know when you might want to go back to the old site and keep going with it.

Also, as a Premium member you can have up to 50 websites, not 25, hosted by WA. So you are unlikely to run out of hosting slots any time soon!

Thanks for the like Mike.

One thing I should have mentioned to is that with linking you old site to you new site. It's a good idea to incorporate links of all your sites to all your other sites.

And can be done simply by adding a sub menu or main menu option.

For example as a sub menu under the Home page menu, you can add a page and call it something like: More From this Publisher, See More, Mikes Sites etc. On the page it links to have all your websites with a brief description and links to each one this can be a great way to get exposure to all of your sites as well as building your following.

For example a patron from one site might love that site and still check out your other ones that may be of no interest to them. But they check them out anyway because they are a fan of the one site that they love. It can help to increase traffic drastically to all your sites. Generally if some one likes your site they probably want more. This page is also a good place to add your WA affiliate links.

With my 24+ years of marketing and advertising experience. The most important thing is exposure and with the free websites and all the other incredible tools that WA provides for us. The possibilities are endless.

A important thing to when it comes to Niches is that no niche is a bad niche if you thought about it that means others are too. If it's one thats really popular and has high completion. Having the other websites with other niches can be a great way to break into the high competition niches by using the linking strategy of your websites that I mentioned.

Best of Luck to you.

Yes, if you delete it, you'll still have room for 25 free websites.

But as everyone else said, you really shouldn't do this. You have room, it's kind of unlikely to start so many free websites, so keep it.

You never know. You may decide to give it another chance.

Hi Mike . You can delete your first site but the domain remains yours until renewal in one year's time. I'm inclined to agree with the others. Park your website, start building a new one and check what you want to do with the old one in a few months time. You would have to check with Kyle or Carson regarding if it will remain one of the twenty five if you delete it. But i personally believe it won't because you are paying to host 25 websites and if it's deleted it obviously won't need hosting. Jim

Hi Kyle...I don't know if you saw my reply to your reply, but I realized that I did not state my issue clearly at all.

After choosing Widgets, in the video you chose the Navigation Menu...and the drop-down gave you a list: Header, sub Footer 1, Sub Footer 2, etc.

Mine does NOT do that. When I click on the Navigation Menu, I only have one choice in the drop-down (which really makes it useless...but still): Primary is the only thing listed there.

So I don't know how to place my menu on the bottom of the page.

I really think I have a later version of WP than what you used in the video, and there is probably still a way to do the same thing you did in the video, but I have not been able to find it.

I'm attaching some screenshots so that you can see the difference in what you showed in the video, and how it really is now in this latest version.

Hope this helps explain the issue...so sorry not to be clear earlier.

Things like menus are typically dependent on the theme that you are using and what the theme designer was trying to accomplish. My guess is that you are not using the same theme as Kyle, hence your challenge. Consider swapping over to his until you get through all the lessons and have a better understanding of how WordPress works. Sure, his ain't the prettiest, but you can always switch back after you gain a better understanding of all the ins-and-outs. Hope this helped :-)

Well, I'm not totally sure, but the screenshots were of WP, and not my website...

Well it turns out that you were right...I went and changed my theme to the one that Kyle used in the video, and that made the Navigation Menu drop-down the same.

Thanks so much for that info! I am much less frustrated now :)

Hi Jim

The fact that it's used for an example is a good thing. Kyle wants us all to succeed. The main example is Amazon which is one of the best and easiest ways to make money at affiliate marketing. And one of the ones I always suggest. Especially if you are new. For example with your preworkout niche they have thousand of relevant products for you to use to earn money..

The amazon affiliate program can be hard to join but if you check out my blog that I posted today.

" Affiliate Approval and What That Means For You"

In it I discus how to obtain affiliate programs. Have a list of 126 that approve instantly through one affiliate company. In total as of now there are 324 that I have been approved for. I give my strategies for how to obtain the other 198. As well as my new strategy to explode everyones earning potential with affiliate marketing.

In the list of 126 affiliate programs that will approve immediately there are two that are for Nutritional supplements. And there is around 10 more in the other list I will be releasing soon.

Exercise and preworkout niches are some of the best they are things that will never go away. If it's your passion I say go for it and remember this is just your first niche. Tons more will come to you as you progress here before you know it you won't know which one to focus on the most.

Best of luck to you.

Hi Kyle,

I'm trying to figure out the access I'm supposed to have on Jaaxy. I just joined WA this week and upgraded to premium. I thought that gave the level of access in Jaaxy you show during your keyword training. However, when I'm in Jaaxy I have a very short list of results and nothing displays in the QSR column.

I also have a question about the billing for WA - I intended to pay $234 for 6 months of premium membership, but have been billed and (unintentionally) paid for an additional $126. I find that confusing, so if you could explain it I'd appreciate it.

you guys are all so helpful! i have another question: is making a website centered around a well known celebrity/actors a good niche? I would promote the products they use by bringing fans to that page and talking about the clothing products, digital products, makeup products, etc. that they use and have affiliate links to those products. I just thought this might be different because it is not solely for product reviews but to learn about the celebrities and then the products they use and the people might be compelled to use the products because the people they look up to use them as well.

there are more niches than anyone of us could even imagine. I would choose something much more specific like luxury jewelry, organic makeup sets or some specific digital product niche like smart TVs and accessories. Don't focus on several big topics (with thousands of niches inside). And you need to give solutions to your visitor's problems or help them to fill their needs. No matter if celebrities use those products or not, you can be the celebrity yourself in the future ;)! do WA training, it's super useful and you will find much more and better answers than I can offer.

is cute affordable gift ideas a good niche? what if i havent tried out all the products i want to promote and therefore am unable to give an authentic review about them? im interested in cute items that are useful as well as aesthetically pleasing and gift giving but im not sure this will be very profitable?
Reply
merlynmac Premium
It can be a good niche but you'd have to get a lot of traffic to get to the products through your links for the commissions and, if they're "affordable", you're going to have to have a lot of that traffic to make decent money. That said, it can be done.

As for an authentic review, as long as you're doing research and not just making the stuff up, you should be fine. Yes, hands-on is preferred but it's not required.
Reply
webcash2us Premium
The niche sounds great and leaves you ample room to create content. However, if you don't use the product yourself then you have no first hand experience to speak of to visitors.

In this case, you will want to do a lot of product research to offer accurate information. Do not copy the product description and use that on your site.

Create your own review of the product and continue adding more site content with more product reviews.

I wish you all the best.

I would personally take away the 'affordable' part and narrow it down a little. Something like "Cute gifts for kids" would be better. Otherwise you will be limiting yourself to products that may only make you 50 cents commission. All the best Jim

Yes, it is, you can create two free siterubix.com websites. I started that way and after a couple of weeks I realized out how many expensive services you get by paying very small amount of money compared to buying quality hosting, ssl security, sitespeed, keyword and SEO tools + much much more from different sources.

Hi I have just finished this part of the training in setting up my website . I am just going with it and not over thinking it. Any feedback on it would be really helpful. My tip to everyone new at this is write what you feel not what you think. It will come to you and your site will develop!

Yeah, exactly. Writing is simply communicating an idea with others, nothing more complex than that.

I usually tell people to write in a way that they would their friend, how would you explain something, how would you communicate it, and how would you promote/recommend it.

It is this communicative style that tends to lead to better rankings as well.

Who knew the About Me page would be so difficult? I keep getting off-track and writing about my niche instead...which I really would prefer to do.
I don't really like to write about myself...kinda private, ya know? But I DO understand why the About Me page is important.

I've read other people's About Me pages and usually do feel better about the site if there is something like that there. I think I will have to finish it up tomorrow, because it's getting late and my eyes are going now...lol

MoonFlower3, I'm in the process of writing About Me Page as well. I keep re-thinking it. However, I just keep thinking about my niche, and it really helps me. I'm not going to discuss too much personal information about myself either, but only why I chose this Niche and how it has benefit me in the past. I'm tired too, I will finish it tomorrow after a good nights rest :)

Don’t stress too much about your about me page, just put whatever information you can put now and publish it.

You can always edit your page and add more information as you move forward with your website.

I actually just recently updated mine after 8 months, I read my about me page and decided it needed more information so I added and it ended up having 1500 words from I think 500 words.

For a fairly long time I have seen the need for some type of kit that is available to the public that cleans the teeth. I have noticed nothing is available in the stores [and water piks do not clean the teeth as efficiently--according to dentists].
If this type of teeth cleaning kit was online it would sell a lot!

Sounds nice. What's your plan for turning it into a niche affiliate site? Have you found a product similar to the one you are thinking and, if so, do they have an affiliate program? Unless you intend on manufacturing them yourself -- which can be extremely expensive -- you will need to figure out a way to source the product in order to build a site around it. Keep us posted; it sounds interesting :-)
Reply
learnto Premium
I have attempted to patent the idea on numerous times; basically it is using products that are already on the market and putting them in a kit.
People are inherently lazy and like the idea of having a product that works effectively. The goal of using this product is both improved overall health and having to reduced use of a dentist [unless you really need to see one].
I use the basic idea myself and have consulted dentist friends of mine and the agree it is very good!

Re the "About Me" page, I don't know that I am comfortable using 'aliases' or 'pen names'. The page says it's about me. But, I am not an alias or pseudonym (pseudo name)? Can somebody resolve this conundrum for me? Maybe I am missing something. Thank you. If I were to say it's about my alter-ego or some other identity, then this commentary would all be acedemic. I have played acoustic guitar for over 50 years (and still do). I have progressed from simple strumming to finger style playing. I absolutely love acoustic guitars and each one has it's own particular tone depending primarily upon the age of the wood. So, what do you think about a niche of "vintage acoustic guitars"? The term "vintage", in the guitar world means 20 years old or older. I know that there are hundreds of websites that sell these because I've probably visited them all. what do you think of this as a niche?
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
That's perfect. One "mistake" that a lot of new members make is jumping into a niche that is too big. For example, they start a generic site on photography, and can't figure out why they aren't getting any traction.

Having said that -- and definitely run the numbers just to be sure -- I have a feeling "vintage acoustic guitars" is right in that sweet "Goldilocks" spot; it feels big enough that you'll see steady traffic, but not so big that you'll get drowned out by more established guitar sites.

Definitely worth checking out. Well done. :-)

I wanted to go in the direction of self-help, life tips on a variety of topics (budgeting, corporate jobs, self-care etc.), but I'm having a hard time figuring out a specific niche related to this. I don't see much come up on Google or Amazon when I type words like post-college, adulting, 20-somethings, etc. other than books. Am I using the wrong key words?

One of my biggest hobbies and areas of expertise is sewing and costume design so I want to take that and create a website that allows people to get ideas for costumes for several occasions including festivals, parties, nights out, raves, themed events, fancy dress occasions, theatre costumes, LGBT costumes, drag queen/king outfits to name a few.

I want to provide affiliate links to sites so that they can purchase whole costumes, parts of costumes or bare materials to create costumes and create step-by-step posts to show people how to do this as well as which sewing machines and fabrics are best to purchase for beginner/intermediate/advanced projects.

Is this a good niche?

Being in the holiday rental business myself, I would rather give the cottage a name, one which can be the same as your domain name. Build a website with all info about the cottage and the things to do in the surrounding. Why do I say this: as I guess the idea is more to promote your cottage and get as much rental income as possible. Running a blog will give you the needed traffic (seo) after some time.

I’ve given my Niche some thought over the past few weeks and done a bit of research to see what else is out there. I am certain there is a lot of websites that have free something similar but I hope to stand out a bit. I decided to go for a bit of a collaboration with my wife and myself, she has a large amount of knowledge and experience with dieting and Keto as she has been up and down on her weight for a number of years since we started our family and I think I have a bit of a talent for writing, so together I believe we can produce a good, fun and informative website for families that want to live healthy with a Keto basis, trying to tie it in with what kids like too.

I've taken some time to narrow down my niche and thought of a subject on time management. I'm passionate about saving time each day to do meaningful things (i.e., being outdoors, more social interactions)- and I'd love to help people get better at that.

I've narrowed it down to "I want to help people reduce their screen time, or from excessive electronic use" In the digital era, I know it's a problem for younger people with smartphones and tablets, and I want to do a blog on the subject and promote time management products/tools as well.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Should I stick with it or narrow it down further?

Hello from Nottingham! Other than Amazon which will accept new sites with relatively little content, other programs will inspect your site and expect to see at least 10 to 15 posts. However, they all have different rules, and you would have to see if it is covered in their terms and conditions.

Which one you won't run out of ideas after year? which one you are more passionate about? which one do you think to be able to help other people better? However, im pretty much 100% sure you are good enough and much better than me and most of us for both! It would be interesting discussing a chronological biography of your behaviors and habits - a sort of "target the cause - to trigger a solution" blog that tells about your experiences and how in your opinion they led up to these health issues, plus segments on what you're doing to reduce them, eliminate them from the roots up, heal them.

In the USA most people focus on symptom-reduces. The cause is brushed under the rug. Since you have experience on multiple topics, I think a holistic angle would give you the greatest range of content which you could easily write and connect people with.

Everyone has to sleep while only men have prostates, so maybe that's part of my answer. Many people struggle with sleep problems, but my question is how do you write reviews for products if you haven't tried them? And how in the world can you try multiple mattresses, pillows, snoring devices, sleep apnea masks, etc. without spending a bunch of money buying these products?
Reply
J-KWest Premium
Trying a product for ourselves is one way to review a product and it's great when you have the opportunity to do so, but it also has it's limitations.

If I was reviewing a guitar for example, people reading my review would want to know if it's good for them. They don't care if it's good for me.

And my opinion is just one among many. If they want individual reviews they can go to Amazon or somewhere else for those, and they probably will.

So our job is to go deeper and get to the real reasons someone might want to buy something, or why it might benefit them... and we do that through research rather than testing.

All of the physical aspects of a product and it's features we can find online and those are definitely provided in your review. And then you would look at the current reviews to find patterns.

Going back to the guitar example, I might find several people across a handful of different review sites saying there was something about the guitar that was causing their fretting hand to hurt or get tired after a a certain duration of playing.

So I'd write that if a person had mild arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome or a previous injury to their to fretting hand, there could be potential issues.

This might be something you'd never learn by testing the guitar yourself.

On the other hand, the guitar might shine in other areas and be great for a person under XYZ circumstances.

After a while you become very familiar with these products. You know which brands tend to have certain issues, whether they are design, construction or customer service issues for example.

You learn which types and brands are best for certain types of people. Which brands appeal to a certain crowd (young or old for example, or genre of music).

A guitar might be great for people simply because it looks cool among a certain crowd. In that case, the way it plays may be a secondary consideration. Again, all things you learn as you gain experience in your niche.

And these principles apply across all niches in their own way.

Hope that helps :-)
Reply
Thanks Jay, that makes sense. So I probably won't need to buy every product I may review.

But better yet, I think what you've said elsewhere is that I need to stop thinking from a product perspective, but from the view of "how can I help other people", right?

And I think I can help the most people who struggle with sleep issues, which I have had significant problems with, and can ruin one's life quickly.

I think I have my niche.

Thanks!

One of my sisters also has RLS so I've been told there's a genetic link. But regardless, I think I can help people who struggle with sleep issues.

JesseJamez,

Appreciate the feedback. I think the best question you sent was "with which topic do you think you can help other people better?" And I think for me that will be Sleep.

Thanks,

Hi everyone! Another newbie here. I am passionate about improving care for the elderly and informing people (staff or family) how to give better care. There wouldnt be anything I specifically would be selling - I just wanted to blog and let people who want to use my ideas, or comment, go ahead and make use of the resources I have. Could I make a living via affiliated advertising? What do you all think of this as an idea - is it rubbish? I remember when I worked in a nursing home I trawled and trawled the net looking for ideas, for information. Ill appreciate all your comments :)

Your passion is super! However, I would rethink on the selling. Sure you can make some money from ads but you need a lot of traffic to make that worth it. (In some cases, 10,000 views a month...) When it comes to the elderly, what type of supplies do they need? You can recommend various items like the lift up chairs, certified in home care nurse programs, medical alert equipment, etc. You could even recommend comfortable clothes specifically for their needs. Just go to google and type in nursing home affiliate program. Tons of results for this one option. You could do thorough reviews on why you Would or would not choose them. I saw one for Alzheimer’s store. Then go to amazon and type in senior. See what items they've recommended. Oh what about books and guides and certifications on senior care? There are many directions you could go. Narrow down a few focuses and then write a lot of content about each focus at a time. Feel free to DM me to bounce around ideas. I think the sky is the limit for you!

Dear Lisa, I had the same problem reaching my website until I clicked websites in the left pane, then I clicked on site manager this led me to my URL domain. Here, there is a little square below your URL that says details. I clicked on the detail button and this opened a window to site plus+ . Here I turned on the free SSL and I was able to reach my domain when I did this. It worked for me. Maybe it will work for you, too. I hope.

My advice would be this Robert...

Work through the training here at Wealthy Affiliate and take action on the tasks. Action leads to success (that and persistence). If you ever have any questions along the way or feel "stuck", there is lots of help. Just ask.

I'm trying to clean up my webpage and make it a little more neat. Right now all my posts pop up in a list on the home page. Along the right side I see recent posts, recent comments, archives, and categories. Are these things that I will need at some point? I've created a drop down menu along the top of the page and am planning to sort my posts into the menu. In my opinion the right side just looks messy.

The menus in the sidebar come in handy when you have many posts on your website. It allows your readers to locate posts quickly.

you can remove these in the Widgets section in wordpress. Its not always something i leave on my pages, as they can serve as a distraction to your main content

Hi everyone, new to WA. Highly considering upgrading to premium, but I haven't been able to find a cancellation policy anywhere. If I upgrade can I cancel at anytime without penalty? Though it all looks great, if for whatever reason it isn't right for me I want to make sure I am not locked into a contract or subscription I can't escape. Can anyone point me to where to find this information? Thanks so much!!

Hi - you can cancel your subscription by clicking on your profile photo, going to account settings, then membership. You would then click cancel billing.

So, as you can see, you have to do it yourself. There is no minimum contract or penalty. The only things to be aware of is that there are no refunds, and also, once you have upgraded to premium, if you then cancel, you can't go back to being a free member. You would lose all access to this platform.

If you purchase your own .com domain (the cost of which is not included in your subscription) and then cancel your premium membership, you are given 30 days to move your website to another hosting provider.

Hi - if you are doing the money-making online niche, you should be folwing the Bootcamp training.

Hi, i am choosing the name of my website, my niche is very large, is all about being the best in all 3 important areas of your life, such as professional, business life, health and vitality, and even personal relationships, i am thinking on brand it like this
NAME= Shoot For Greatness , tell me what you think about it, is the best name for it?
Reply
feigner Premium
as you say that is a large niche and your relevance will be spread thinly.
go for all of it eventually, but concentrate on one small area of one area at a time, thsi way you may gain some traction.
shoot for greatness- what does it say to me - after watching kyles videos - being better at basketball, after seeing a hunting program, getting more game.
i can see what you are after and you will need to use the tagline to support the title to show what the site is about.
good luck

Hi - have you actually bought that name? There is already a website called shootforgreatness.com, which was registered 3 months ago.

well, It says it is expired.. i registered this domain here at WA and it said it is available, in fact i already created the website

Great, thank you.
So i plan show the key areas of life where people ''will shoot for greatness'' once they open the website, they will see 3 divisions where says ''Professional and finances ------ Business success ---- health and vitality''.
is that a great way to do what you suggest feigner?
Reply
DianeScorpio Premium
That's fair enough then if you actually already own it.

Do pay attention to what Phil (@feigner) has said though. Its a very broad niche and you are targeting several different audiences. You wish to be seen as an authority in a particular subject, not as somebody who "dabbles" in lots of things. It may be challenging to keep an equal amount of content in all the different areas of your site.

Say, for example, I find your site by searching for an article on health, but discover that all the rest of your content is on professional and business topics, then I would soon leave.
Reply
feigner Premium
any of those three areas could be sites within themselves - so with say business success, you can break this down further into the various sections and work on these before going into the other areas, rather than writing about all three.
this will give your site focus and as Diane says not have someone who 'dabbles' in this and that.
you can over time , once seen as an authority in one area move into another and build that up.
but i would concentrate on one of those areas to start with and gain authority in that before adding one of the other areas.

Hi! so, in the "choosing a niche" video, it is said that one should continue with OEC training for your own niche, or 'bootcamp' for promoting WA, and doing both trainings (it sounds like) is not recommended. Is that because they are redundant? or just to keep beginner's focused in one specific niche first?
It is my intention to both promote WA with a site and also to build a site relating to healthy herbal supplements, so what is the recommended way to proceed with training?
Reply
chender684 Premium
Finish OEC for your niche site first is the way to go.

Thanks for your response! If you have the time, can you tell me why you recommend that course of action?

Honestly, you can do whatever you want to do. You can promote WA if you want. It's a product that is proven and it works.
That said, there are a lot of seasoned marketers out there who are promoting Wealthy Affiliate.

Competition is fierce unless you know something that I don't know? If you already have a niche that you are involved in and you know the product and you can write good content then I would suggest that you stick with it.

Why scatter your focus for a long shot? Look, I like WA a lot, but I'm here for me, and I am paying for me, as far as I'm concerned they get mine every month. I don't owe them anything.

Besides, if it wasn't for members like me and many others before me they would have to employ a help desk 24/7 to monitor and assist all the paying members and many more that are free?

Take care of yourself, and if you want to promote WA then by all means do it.

Good luck,
David

Thanks for your thoughts. My original line of thinking was to promote an online money-making opportunity because they have such a massive market, proven sales history and universal appeal. However, I didn't want to promote any un-ethical get rich schemes or courses, so I spent much time thinking about other niches that I might wish to develop.
Since investigating WA, however, it occurred to me that I could do both, I didn't figure two sites as too much scattering. However, when learning the processes and best practices involved while spending the least amount of money, it makes sense to avoid a niche with strong competition...

@JonDeva when i started is just like you .I dont know what else i want to do .doing the OEC or Affiliate BootCamp. Is really an overwhelming on what to do is so broad here with so much thing to learn and go though. So i suggest you go for 1 thing 1st focus on 1 thing first,If you cant decided on your niche just go thought the training the OEC the 10 lesson. You got to start somewhere anyhow.I started with OEC even thought i want to go for bootcamp
but my instinct or intution tell me i will finish the OEC first you got to be patient as learning takes time .Took me two months to decide
i join the starter membership in June 2019 and it went all the way to July 2019.Two months just there not moving or procastinating into what to do.Just struck at lesson 1-3.Then came August 1st i decided enough is enough i commited to accepted the premium offer of $19.A discount. From there i just be commited and take action to learn the OEC till my premium end in 31August 2019..Then i sign up to continue a years subcription on 1st september till 2020.So i think to just do one thing first. While learning the OEC i started to explore to how i recommend WA to my friends and colleage .All all sort of things like writing a blog and engaging in the community by giving .All the best

To be honest, any niche you venture into will have competition.
I say if you don’t have lots of experience in Affiliate Marketing, start by building your niche site and completing the entrepreneurial certificate.

Then once you have a fair amount of content on you niche site, start working on your bootcamp website by going through the boot camp training.

I have done both courses and I found boot camp even though it has more lessons, it’s easier to follow after you have completed the entrepreneur certificate.

Because there are some lessons that are similar.

I wish you success in your business.

Thanks to all who have welcomed me and giving me insight. I have already made mistakes in figuring out how to get from point A to B but retraced my steps. Kyle was helping and I was just about to spill it over to the community without bothering Kyle, when I stumbled on the answer. It seems like it might be
a good idea to log into your site area and not use your site login for that! jangheart below me, hang in there I have learned a lot in the past few days that I have been here. It is a wonderful group!

I am new to all of this. And after completing the first lesson, I feel so overwhelmed. There's a lot that could happen and I'm so thrilled and scared at the same time. I know this will all be worth it.

Praying and wishing everyone success in their WA journey.

Unfortunately I will not be able to avoid the problem of overthinking the niche :( To that end, Isn't it a problem to choose a niche where you may be promoting products that you do not necessarily have direct experience with? For instance, if I were to choose exercise treadmills I have plenty of experience on a few different treadmills, but how can that translate to honest content about all kinds of models that I have never actually seen? Seems like you could easiliy get into a position where you are promoting stuff that you have not actually used.
Reply
kimwolfe Premium
You will hear mixed answers about recommending products that you haven’t used. Some will say this is ok and some will say you should use everything you recommend. The main point is to recommend products you actually know something about. You - actually have a leg up! Because you have used a few treadmills, you can recommend the ones you use and review all of them, even if you haven’t used them. And lead all reviews to the ones you have used and the ones you recommend. You have experience with treadmills to know what features look for, compare warranties and such. You are in a great position because you already know the topic. You could also go to stores to actually look at different models and take your own pics for your blog. Don’t let overthinking talk you out of moving forward and learning from experience rather than fearing what you don’t know.
