Lesson 1, Getting Rolling!

First off, we would like to personally welcome you to Wealthy Affiliate. I am Kyle, co-founder of Wealthy Affiliate and I am going to be the one walking you through the training here.

Carson, the other co-founder works more with the technical team (over 25 people) so you will see a bit less of him, although he is still very much active here within the community every day.

You have definitely made the right choice in joining the community here at Wealthy Affiliate, you are going to love it here and you are going to quickly realize we care about you and your success online!

In the coming days and weeks we are going to be showing you how online success works and we will help you realize your own potential within the Internet space to earn revenue and leverage the internet to grow a business.

Before we continue, we want to point out a few important things:

(1) Anyone Can Accomplish Success Online. There are 3.75 BILLION people using the Internet, regardless of the direction you head online there is a very large number of people there that you can connect with. Members here at WA succeed at the highest rate out of any platform online!

(2) Anything NEW can appear to be Overwhelming at First. Like riding a bike, it is normal to feel overwhelmed and even "fall" a few times when getting rolling. Don't worry, you will quickly get the hang of things! Stick with Wealthy Affiliate and you will achieve, and far exceed your goals.

(3) No Technical or Prior Online Business Experience Required. If you have experience that is great, but it is definitely not a requirement here at Wealthy Affiliate. Everything related to online business can be learned here within your membership and you definitely do not need to be a "techie".

(4) Success is a Journey. Success is very cumulative by design. This means that everything you do now, and every step you take will contribute towards your personal success in the future. An exciting journey does lie ahead and the effort you put forth now will pay off later and often times forever!

A Quick Look at How YOU Will Be Creating Success

Success online is at the core a 4 step process nothing more complex than this and this is exactly what you are going to be learning here at Wealthy Affiliate. Here is a quick diagram breaking down the process.

Broken, down, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Choose an Interest. This can be anything at all, any interest, passion or even something you have no personal experience with.

Step 2: Build a Website. Your website is your foundation and we have the most sophisticated and feature rich website and hosting platform here at Wealthy Affiliate in SiteRubix.

Step 3: Attract Visitors. You are going to be learning all about how to get traffic and visitors to your website. The first focus is FREE traffic and there is A LOT of it out there.

Step 4: Earn Revenue. Once you have people on your site and traffic, you can earn revenue. There are over 50 ways you can monetize traffic online!

As you go through the training, this is going to be covered in detail. As mentioned, absolutely EVERYTHING you need is here at WA to facilitate this process!

Before we go any further...

We want to give you two simple pieces of advice within the Wealthy Affiliate community.

Piece of Advice #1: Do not be afraid to ask questions! There is 100,000's of people here within WA and many, MANY experts. You need help, please ask!

Piece of Advice #2: Take action on what you learn! Action leads to success. You could read and watch the training until you are blue in the face, but if you never take action on it you won't achieve any success.

We don’t want to put any pressure on you and definitely do not want to overwhelm you as you get started, so we are going to give you three simple tasks to perform (as noted below). Spend a few minutes today and complete these tasks! :)

You are currently reading lesson 1 of a 10 lesson Getting Started Course. This course is going to step you through the process of getting started. It will answer all of the questions that you have about earning money on the Internet, and will reveal exactly how to do it.

If you ever need to get back to your training, simply click the Get Started Here button within the side menu. This "smart" button will always take you back to your last completed task and you will also see your progress through the training.

Click the "You Are Here" to get back into your training at any time.

Your Current Tasks :)

In this Lesson you will become involved and immersed within the awesome community at Wealthy Affiliate. This is a community that cares about your success, and one where you will create wonderful relationships within the industry. You will soon learn that you can SUPERCHARGE your learning and ultimately, your success by being active in the community, and immersing yourself.

This starts with uploading a picture, adding a few words about yourself in your profile description, and getting involved in a live chat with others. These tiny steps are referred to as your "Account Setup" tasks which we will discuss below in a little more detail.

Right now, there is no reason to delay your training, let's get started with your Tasks for today.

Task 1: Watch The Walk Through Video Below

Your first task today is to watch the Wealthy Affiliate Walk-through video. This video will walk you through Wealthy Affiliate, show you how to find your way around, show you how to get help, and ultimately show you how WA will help you succeed within the online world.

DISCUSS THIS VIDEO HERE: Wealthy Affiliate Walkthrough - How YOU Can Benefit From WA

At any time if you have questions as you are watching the Wealthy Affiliate Walkthrough video, simply leave them in the comments section below the video and we will be more than happy to help you out. Remember, there is a TON of help available whenever you need it.

Task 2: Complete Your Account Set-up

Your final task for today is to set-up your Wealthy Affiliate account. I have created a quick video walk-through showing you how to set-up your account:

DISCUSS VIDEO: Setting Up Your WA Account is EASY

Setting up your Wealthy Affiliate account only includes two items:

(1) Adding a profile image (can be anything you want)
(2) Adding a personal description

This may seem very simple (and it is), but there are definite reasons that you are going to want to complete the account set-up process. Here are some benefits to setting up your account:

  • Leads to better networking within the community
  • Your “followers” within the community will go up at least 5x (in some cases)
  • People are more willing to help you if you have a profile
  • Adds a level of credibility within the community
  • Shows others that you are serious about SUCCESS

Immerse yourself within Wealthy Affiliate and you are going to experience a lot more success. It is a rare day within WA when you don’t get to brush shoulders with millionaire marketers hanging out within the community, so take this serious and make your profile (people’s first impression of you) a good one.

Task #3: Understand Your Membership

If you joined for FREE, you currently have a Starter membership . This is the starting point of your success online. You get a good deal of access with the Starter level membership, but you need to know that there is MUCH MORE to be found at WA.

There are huge benefits to going premium when you are ready. Your last task for today is to take a second to learn about our Premium membership and how it differs from the Starter program.

Get All of the "Juicy" Details About Premium Here!

You are in good hands here at Wealthy Affiliate regardless of whether you are Starter or Premium.

Make us a Promise OK?

We want you to make us a promise today. We want you to give Wealthy Affiliate a chance first and foremost. We know that you may have had bad experiences online in the past and we want you to allow us to prove ourselves to you.

We care about YOU and we care about YOUR personal success more than you think.

Do we have a deal? :)

Again, we want to personally welcome you to the community and we look forward to helping you achieve success online, and far exceeding your expectations :)

Your friends,

Kyle & Carson

PS. When you are done your tasks, check them off as shown below and click the "Next Lesson" button as shown below.

hello fellow affiliates... i have a question

I wanted to know if in the free membership we get 2 free websites but they will be under siteRubix domain. So is having a blog/website on such domain still get us good rankings on Google and pay off well? because during my research on this matter i found that google prefers domains that are owned .

Because cannot really invest in buying a domain at the moment.

would really appreciate some honest answers from people who already working and earning from any siteRubix domain websites and in comparison if they also have a self owned domain.

All help would be appreciated

Thanks

Hi there,
You are absolutely correct about using domains and sub-domains. Google does prefer a full domain. However, that said there are thousands of people here at WA who have made highly successful sites from those on Siterubix sub-domains - Kyle included! Google won't ignore them. So don't let that hinder you. Choose a sub-domain for now. You can always change it to a full domain later down the line if you so chose. The support team here can help with that as and when you're ready.

Good luck.

Sean

most domains only average $15 per year. Mine only cost $13 for the full year, which I will be renewing every year as long as my website is up and running.

Hi Muazzama, Welcome to the community. In my personal opinion, it is better to start with SiteRubix for free. By the time you finish lessons and earn from WA, you can convert it to a personal domain. As you progress through lessons, you will feel the need for a raw platform to experiment and can always start afresh after acquiring full knowledge. All the Best for your committed actions and get success. Always keep your cause in mind.

Personally, I find your suggestion very helpful. Thanks :-)

not there yet but what is a SUB domain?
Reply
MozMary Premium
the free sites are subdomains, they are .siterubix.com and not simply .com

we don't really have to worry about subdomains, some people set them up on their websites but we don't have to do that here as you get 25 free sites, all subdomains in WA

I found a free website / subdomain site in a search out in google last week and it had many thousand facebook likes - free sites can do very well and also DomW is a member here who has blogged about getting traffic to one

some affiliate programs also are happy with the free sites and you can combine them with social media to earn too...

There is so many websites already out there selling, advertising etc. I would love more info/help with this process. I will definitely keep moving forward onto the next tasks and lessons.

my page doesn't look like the sample page shown in the lesson. It does not have a home sign. Right on the top left corner it has a blog sign and underneath, all of my about me page showing on the front page. I don't know where my privacy statement is on that page because it is not showing it. There is also a picture like square in between the word Blog and the about me statement. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?
Reply

did you publish your about me as a post? then it will go to the blog roll and show up like that

you can choose whether to have pages or posts visible on your site

to find what you've published to your site just click on pages and posts and see what is in there

things to consider are creating menus so the pages show up, he will get to that in the lessons or use the search bar top center of this page

also different themes display things differently

you could take a screenshot and show us if you like, monosnap is a good free download for that

Hello, for a while I've had a niche Idea and I'd like to run it by you guys. I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead tv series and wanted to start a site that showcases memorabilia, collectibles, and basically anything from the show, as well as reviews on those products. My plan was to join the affiliate program with Amazon and basically show off all the products there. I have a really good list of Keywords ready. Does this seem like a viable option for me?

I want to upgrade to Premium, however I still have 5 days left to decide and I'm trying to get all my priorities straight beforehand.

GREETINGS ALL,

Course 1, Lesson 7.
A 25 minute video took over 4 hours for me and it is what it was and will be less time to process on the second and future views.

GO THROUGH ALL LESSONS & VIDEOS, then GO AROUND AGAIN!
The old (altered) saying of "If at First You Don't Succeed, Getty Up GO Again"!

Between watching, stopping video to apply, re-apply, save, get up and move around, sit down, resume video: times 5 or 8 times of activities, THAT video has been processed.
On to the "Creating Custom Menus & Navigation" early Sunday Morning.
THIS IS FUN!!
THANKS B-2 Kyle & Carson as well ALL W.A. STUDENTS & TEACHERS!!

I can see that affiliate marketing is a numbers game. Is it really possible to get enough traffic to even make a modest income? Online there seem to be 1000 sellers for every 1 buyer and millions of people want to be on the first page of Google. Are there any stats that show the average monthly income that an affiliate actually makes?
Reply

Yes, it is possible to make a full time income with affiliate marketing.

I do not know of a reliabble statistical breakdown.

Hi,
The interface is odd for sure. You have to name a menu and save it. Then you can add pages to it.
Also, you can have more than one menu, so assign your main menu to be "primary menu"

Oh my goodness.... this took way too long to come up with a niche hahaha The process is fun. I visited Israel 2 years ago, and has been something that I want to do again. I had a heck of a time on how to get my first trip set up, but managed to get it right the first time. I think I might have a problem there that needs help with solving. I'm just afraid that it's too broad of an idea, but would have lots of topics to cover for my website.

If it gets traffic and has low competition then it sounds good to me. Better still if like you say you can get other topics from it then so much the better. Good luck. Sounds great.

I finally believe I have a niche I choose to explore ... the interesting part is, using my own personal problems and obstacles helped me think of the niche I choose to explore. Whatever problem or pain someone is going through, I'm sure there is a target of others going through the same thing, which will enable an idea or niche to explore not only to help the target audience, but also yourself.

Yes, Anthony, it has to be something personal something you want to either help people or teach people. But be specific in your niche!

Nice, man! I have an idea of what I want my niche to be. But I feel like it is too broad and I need to shrink it down to what I truly want it to be.

Hi Anthony. You should focus and be specific on one subject first. Like Rodalexon10 said. Help or teach? They are little different from each other. In my opinion, start with helping and after a while teaching will be easier.

Is the "About Me" a separate post from the initial Welcome and My Story?
Why are my Welcome and Story running together on my site?
I want to move my Privacy page to the bottom of the page, but I can't figure out how to do that.

Thanks for the help.

Heh, Frank. You 'my story' is the same as your About Me page. In order for it not to come up with your Welcome Page, you need to have your menu done. Your menu is where you add your About Me Page. Just remember to click on Save!
You will probably need a plugin to move your privacy policy to the bottom. There could be other ways if your theme allows for it. You can look in customize your site to see exactly what you can do. Hope it helps

you cannot downgrade - either stay Starter or only go Premium when you can afford it

notice that Black Friday will be $299 for the year, that makes monthly payments work out at around $26.50

you can earn the money with the free resources

stay Starter until you have the money, you will not be deleted, you can keep 2 free websites and work on them and earn money with them

if someone goes Premium they unlock all the levels of training so they are no longer Starter, if you are Premium and you leave then you have 30 days to move a website to new hosting

I don't know if this is a question? Maybe a wise advice will be helpful as well.

I sign up a affiliate program from a store...How does that work exactly? In case your wondering what store I sign to for the affiliate program was...BlueBanana and I'm also going to sign to this other store called Gamsis something like that.
Is there any tips on these topics?
Reply
GGrier Premium
Hi,
Signing up for affiliate programs gets covered eventually in the lessons.

I think they wait to explain it so we have some traffic on the site before setting up the links.

Most affiliate programs have an affiliate program webpage that you sign into and have your own account at.

They are all a bit different, so you'll have to read about your affiliate programs. But they are all the same too, in that they give you links that you use on your website. If someone clicks your link then the company knows that you sent them traffic and you get a commission on any purchases made within some time frame.
Reply
MozMary Premium
each affiliate program has their own rules, some of them want you to have a website with a lot of traffic and some allow new websites with no traffic to join, so if a program allows you as a newbie then great

there are different opinions about when to add links to a site, I've seen people be successful with links early
Reply
Thank you that really does make sense.

I never knew that...I know if you sign with Hot Topic you have to give them your own website link. I can send BlueBanana and Gamiss if I have to make a website for their programs. Thank you for your advice I appreciate it a lot.

I was under the impression from previous training that you find a keyword your happy with and place it in your meta title and then include it in your first paragraph. Maybe I'm wrong but this video makes me think you are to gain multiple keywords and have them included throughout a single post?
Reply
JBond1 Premium
Hi, you're right : )
Reply
nrollins84 Premium
You don't really have to search for those other keywords. Just your main keyword. The others will come naturally as you write. Just as an example, take the keyword "improve your golf swing". As you write you will naturally talk about "gripping the club properly", "proper follow-through", and "where your feet should be for the best swing". All of these are new keywords in your post that people will search and you could gain ranking for. I came up with those off the top of my head, and I know nothing about golf! If I can do this on a subject I know nothing about, you can certainly do it in the niche of your choice. Hope this helps.

Hello. I was wondering if iPhones will be a good thing to promote. And since they do make new iPhones frequently, that I should keep the name of the website broad. And what is 1 on 1 coaching? And I do hope to succeed and not get too overwhelmed with the instructions as this seems to be the best and only option to make a decent amount of income with a legitimate affiliate program.
EDIT: Also, how many a hours a day do you have to be on here to make sure everything goes along, like the website and the income?

hey everyone;

This is my question... My husband is an incredible Master Goldsmith and for 20+ years we owned a jewelry store, so Custom Designed, rings would be right up my alley, however my heart and interest would be with helping 3 of my youngest 7 children improve their focus (they tend to be in the ADHD area of attention issues) so I would love that to be my niche. But how could that produce an income that could keep me home with them?

There are a ton of products out there that help with ADHD. Books, supplements, specific toys and learning tools. Go to Amazon and type in ADHD in the search and see a bunch of possible suggestions pop up... all of those can be promoted as an Amazon Affiliate.

you can always learn the art of selling online by promoting other peoples products.
Once you have it 'cracked' then you can add yur products, thiswill lessen the pressure you will put on yourself to make and mrket your own products.
You can still build up a following with others accessories and build up the launch of your products.
Good luck with what you decide to do

Hi there, I am still struggling to find the right niche. Is there someone in here that could give me a couple of tips on how to choose mine? I
have already been thinking on few of them and even started my first website on pet rabbits' care and products. However after thinking it for a while I do not know how profitable can this niche be. Would you recommend me to go on with this niche or to find an alternative among my other interests below?

-Travel
-Gaming
-Pets

Which one of those would you recommend for my first website?
Thanks!

Which one are you determined to see through and enjoy enough to write a lot about? That is the one that you want to go with. Profitable is something that comes in time based on your efforts. Getting the right amount of traffic might take more work on your part to find if it is not a trending or pretty common one, but that extra effort will come easily if it is a topic that you enjoy and are determined to see through.

Hi,

I would recommend diving a bit deeper into those categories. Like if you choose travel, think of where, what type of travelling, you know. Example If you like travelling in your local area, focus on sites to see, great places to eat, etc.

Hope this helps.

The pet rabbits care and products sounds good to me. My advice is to make sure you really have a passion for the niche you choose. Otherwise you will struggle later on creating content for your site. If you can create quality content, regularly you will attract traffic and your site will be a success! Best of luck to you

Hey! I'm on a Starter Pack as well and I think securing a niche has to come from what motivates and fires you up from within.

So for example, if Gaming is your thing - what about Gaming do you enjoy? Do you enjoy reviewing games before its release? Or do you enjoy bringing back games from the 80's and you know where to get those games?

So, I'd say go with something that you find great enjoyment in! Hope that helps!! :D

Don't worry Lori,
we all start out like this, you want everything just perfect
Remember that you can always go back and edit or rewrite it later.
This doesn't mean that you can get sloppy and post anything - it still has to be the best you can do nom, but if you learn something new or feel you need to update the information in the future then you can do.
Leave it for a few months and then reread what you have written.
one of te things i do is to read the post out loud, if you stumble or hesitate then rewrite that part.
write something every day - even if it on your computer for 15 minutes, getting into this habit will make your writing easier, learn how to improve your writing - learn one thing every day and use it in your daily writing.
What do you writye about daily - whatever you want - if you get stuck look around and pick an object, write down how it makes you feel, describe it so someone else can 'see' it through your writing, why did you buy it, does it look good where it is - well you get te idea.
With this you should not run out of ideas for your free writing.
good luck

Based on which criteria google ranks your website?

1. how relevant and effective your content is to the preferred keyword.
2.Current traffic to your website?

If you are using a low competitive keyword, does this mean that the keyword is infact competitive because there is a higher pool of potential visitors/buyers I might potentially let go?

All visitors who visit may not necessarily purchase, instead of targeting low competitive keywords, increasing probability of buying by targeting highly competitive/traffic key words make sense?

google ranks the pages and posts, that's why the keyword strategy is in play...

1. is correct, that is how google will rank your posts/pages

see Jvranjes and Boomergp08 for extra training on keywords, jvranjes just got a brand new site onto page 2 and 3 with his first two posts and it was a competitive niche and his site was up there sitting among the ecommerce sites...he shows what numbers he used to pick his keyword in his WA blogs

I want nothing more than to be successful and I'm willing to put in the time. My biggest problem I see right now isnt the time its the money. After Irma (Hurricane) caused my house to catch on fire having my family lose pretty much everything.(we are living on the couch at my dads house, I lost my computer and much more, because I rent Im not getting any help from FEMA! So, Im using Dads computer now. Its gonna be extremely hard for me to come up with anything extra!) Will I be able to make at least enough money to start so that I can invest in myself, so in turn, I can get my family back on track? I guess what I want to know is with one of my sites can I earn enough to be able to pay the monthly membership and eventually get myself another laptop?
Reply
CraigW315 Premium
I really hate to say "it depends" but... it depends.
You can definitely make money enough to pay for your membership and buy a new laptop, but the question id how fast can you do it? It normally takes a little while to get rolling.

What I might suggest is if you can, try to get people to sign up with WA and start earning commission. If you can get a couple of people to join and go premium that can be used to pay your own monthly membership.

First of all, sorry about what happened to you. And you will probably earn enough money to start again, but it takes time and effort. Just keep it on and don't give up

Yeah what you put in is what you get out, so think about how much progress you could make if you dedicated 8 hours a day even for a week, that's 56 hours, basically the more you work on it, the faster you'll make it basically

So very sorry to hear of your losses!

I agree with Craig - the quickest way to EARN is to get 2-3 people to sign up monthly under you here at WA....this will cover your monthly costs!

I recommend some old fashioned "Offline" recruiting:

1. Ask any and all friends and family and church members with adequate moneys to help out

2. Print out info info sheet with your Wealthy Affiliate Hyperlink (find under white Airplane top right dashboard) - post at supermarket, colleges, churches, hair salons, golf courses and gyms etc (get permission first)

3. print out business cards once you get 3 joiners - drop one on coffee shop table etc - just ask question - need to earn money since the hurricane? - then have your joining link on reverse

These are just a few ways I started earning before the longer term website earnings started!

If you need any more personal help, please Private Message me or check out my Profile Page "Follow Me On Links" on the bottom right hand column under my trainings.

Hope this gives you some hope!

Barb

PS It is our Black Friday Sale so for anyone well-off promote the $299 annual membership fee price as just 82 cents per day ...less than a cup of coffee!

As others have said, the more work you put it, the quicker things will develop, but keep in mind that for many people it takes at least 6 months to get rolling, if not longer.

I don't say that to discourage you; you could certainly do it faster than that if you put real effort into it. I just want to to know that success could be not too far off, so don't give up.

Hey Debra first off, I'm so sorry what you've gone thought with Hurricane Irma, It must be tough, I really feel for what you're going through especially having children and trying to keep everything together.

Please, select a niche that you really enjoy, this is about you, you building a business around something you will enjoy doing and not to pressure yourself about money. The reason why I say this is because I know from experience, I've began businesses before with wanting to know about the money and for me it can really damper the mindset.

Once I took that pressure about the money out of my mindset and focused on building my business the money just comes naturally.

I think this article here will really help you out by starting off in the right foot.

Also, you can get referrals here at WA just by blogging inside this platform. You can talk about your experience here as a member and your grow. Many members here have gotten sales and referrals this way here including myself.

Your whole goal is to build yourself a business and WA does an excellent job getting your there.

Awesome video on how to find a niche. This video just handed me my niche. Something I am passionate about and have been doing for the past 20 years. Coaching girls basketball. I have coached elementary to high school varsity girls. I also attend many collegiate women’s games and know some collage players. I have coached young ladies who have earned scholoaships to 4 year schools which includes my oldest daughter. My youngest daughter currently plays basketball on a club team here in Greece. I was recently added to the coaching staff as an assistant coach for my daughters team here in Greece. I have also coached elementary and junior high club teams in California and Arizona.

Thanks so much for handing me my niche.

Can I merge two templates? Somehow I have a About Me template and a Welcome to my website template. Can I combine them or do I need to start over, now that I understand a little better?

Since you called them templates I assume they haven't been published, in which case you can just copy to your clipbord the content you want to appear on the one you intend to publish and paste it on it as you see fit, then when you are satisfied you'll be ready to publish it.
If you did publish both, the process would be the same since you can edit your pages as you wish; in both cases you'll have one left over which you can trash.
Hope that helps!

Hi, on the editing panel for every page or post, if you scroll down to the bottom in the All-in-One section you'll see some check boxes, where you can indicate you don't want the page or post to be followed; the privacy policy, and affiliate disclaimer later, are two cases where it's recommended to put a check mark in those boxes to keep the search engines from them. Hope that helps!

Hello All,
I am new to WA/blogging/entrepreneurship and I am in need of some advice. I love the community here, how easy the training is, and I'm thinking this site might be a fit for me. I am a "jack of all trades" and I want to aim my blog to the Holistic community (Health, Spiritual Guidance, Reiki Energy, Herbal Knowledge, Self Development, and so on). The trouble I have been having is not blogging/writing itself but how to make a profit off of what I love to do. I have done much research on affiliate marketing programs and profitable niches, but I'm not understanding how it actually works and how I can potentially benefit from it. Do you guys think this is the place to start and if so how can I make a business out of it? Any advice before I start this journey is much appreciated. Thank you!

Yeah, I have been wondering the same. If your website isn't promoting a specific group of tangible products (i.e. weight loss supplements) and you are creating a more holistic website and are not selling anything, can you still make money?

Yes, you can earn money on the free membership. In saying this, generating money in the first week or month prior as a Starter is like having an your introduction course to becoming a surgeon and expecting to perform surgery within the first month.

The first month is typically your foundation building stage. In order to build a website that earns you consistent revenue, you need this foundation. After this, you are going to start seeing traffic and as you build this out, there are many different ways in which you can generate revenue.

Personally it took me into my 3rd month of busting my butt to make my first dollar online, by month 6 though I was making consistent income and by the year mark, I was almost full time.

But guess what would have happened if I quit during those first two "trying" months or had instant revenue expectations. I would not be where I am at today (going on 12 years full time!). Just wanted to put things into perspective for you.

I am in this journey with you, so is the community here at WA. If you want to jump in, work hard, take action, and persist.

You will have some awesome things accomplished by the time you finish just the first 10 lessons of the getting started training and you will be prepared to build a very successful business online within the Premium membership.

But do upgrade at your own pace and take action on the tasks. Action is what will lead you to success!

I understand it takes time and hard work, but I guess what I am missing is how to gain profit with just a blog. You’re saying I can, but with what? I don’t want to sell a specific item, maybe with time that will come, but for now I would prefer to just write and I feel the knowledge & certifications I have is powerful and worth something. I’m unclear with how the affiliate program(s) work in that aspect. I would just like a little more clarity/structured guidance (: thanks!

There are various monetisation methods Chelsea. You make money by referring products / services of others, via advertising or you could create an ebook / course for your visitors to follow. It does take time, but by sticking with it and getting a plan of what you'd like to achieve from the outset, will help you maintain your focus. Hope that helps a little.
Reply
MozMary Premium
whatever you write about can usually also be monetized, so type your subject into google with the words affiliate programs and see what comes up

it's not just 'sales', it is your audience who appreciate your voice and guidance in solving a particular problem - and sometimes people can just make money by writing and having an ad somewhere that people may click if they like it

if you don't need any extra money then certainly the same training will get you a ton of traffic to read what you write and you can park the affiliate aspect, in fact some people like to get the traffic first eg magistudios

The way I understand it, you can have multiple websites at some point. However, you need to start with your first. These Certification Courses will walk you through the entire process, from start to finish. But you are able to work at your own best pace.
Take your time through the Courses, do all the tasks asked of you. Ask questions as you go, and you will not be able to say "illiterate" any more. LOL.

The Managed Wordpress hosting you have access to here at WA is matched by very few hosts in the industry in terms of quality, security, speed, and support. It definitely is not a budget host like the other shared hosting companies out there. The hosting you get here at WA is comparable to $250 per MONTH hosting packages.

You can learn more about it here:

http://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/hosting/

You can host up to 25 of your OWN domains and 25 free .siterubix.com websites on your Premium hosting platform here at WA.

So if I make a website as a free member and then become a premium member, would my site that I made while I was free be automatically given access to the premium benefits (such as SiteSpeed) or would I have to make a whole new website in order to obtain those?

you can get 2 free siterubix domains as a free member. if you choose to go premium you get 25 free siterubix domains, and you can host 25 domains you own included in your membership. You'll get the same chance no matter where your site is. A Website is a website. If you already have it up and running, you can apply the training to it where it is. Also, another thing is that in order to make money online you need to promote products from vendors and get a commission. So, how do you guys know that the product really works without even trying it yourself? I mean most of the times we bought a product doesn't always mean it will do exactly as the cover said, so, I guess what I'm asking is how do we know the product that we help to promote will not end up making people brand us as scams?

The site you will be creating is your own. The site will be filled with content that only applies to your niche.

The way most people write reviews is to base their review off of others. I find it's just easier to either buy or contact the seller and ask to have it for a review.

The best thing is to know the products you will be writing about.

Checkout 1 of Kyle's sites http://waystoavoidscamsonline.com/

Hello and welcome. To answer your first question you can visit my website at holidaygoodies.siterubix.com and you can read a few of the blogs i've posted on purpose to tell people about the different holidays we celebrate here in the US while offering them products that they can use on that specific holiday. If you can forget about selling for a secomd and start thinking about what dilemma people are having and that how can you be the hero to help them. For example how to loose weight. Now that you find a problem, now you will be researching for solution. Maybe by telling them what exercises they can do or what they can eat or drink; and with that being your blog, you then try to introduce products to your readers. But most of us here are using amazon affiliate program to sell or we promote the wealthyaffiliate program depends on your niche and blog. Hope that helped a litle

Sorry for this silly question: but with whatever niche you choose, is it supposed to enable you to create an actual physical product to sell -even if you don’t have any- in order to earn? Or can it simply be information to read? For e.g. I’m passionate about writing fictional stories but I don’t know how to create a book lol

No.

A niche is a group of people who want answers to their questions, concerns & problems.

The way to make money from that it is to provide content that answers their questions, concerns or problems. After a while you can begin to 'sprinkle' in (2-5 links per review article) links to your products or product recommendations.

Let's take your story idea:

i would use Google and type in 'How To Create A Book + Forum'

Use Google to find niche related questions they want answered. This will help get traffic and build trust for your site.

I hope this has helped you. Please seek out the advise of others and come to your own thoughts and conclusions.

Have a good day.
