Lesson 1, Getting Rolling!

First off, we would like to personally welcome you to Wealthy Affiliate. I am Kyle, co-founder of Wealthy Affiliate and I am going to be the one walking you through the training here.

Carson, the other co-founder works more with the technical team (over 25 people) so you will see a bit less of him, although he is still very much active here within the community every day.

You have definitely made the right choice in joining the community here at Wealthy Affiliate, you are going to love it here and you are going to quickly realize we care about you and your success online!

In the coming days and weeks we are going to be showing you how online success works and we will help you realize your own potential within the Internet space to earn revenue and leverage the internet to grow a business.

Before we continue, we want to point out a few important things:

(1) Anyone Can Accomplish Success Online. There are 3.75 BILLION people using the Internet, regardless of the direction you head online there is a very large number of people there that you can connect with. Members here at WA succeed at the highest rate out of any platform online!

(2) Anything NEW can appear to be Overwhelming at First. Like riding a bike, it is normal to feel overwhelmed and even "fall" a few times when getting rolling. Don't worry, you will quickly get the hang of things! Stick with Wealthy Affiliate and you will achieve, and far exceed your goals.

(3) No Technical or Prior Online Business Experience Required. If you have experience that is great, but it is definitely not a requirement here at Wealthy Affiliate. Everything related to online business can be learned here within your membership and you definitely do not need to be a "techie".

(4) Success is a Journey. Success is very cumulative by design. This means that everything you do now, and every step you take will contribute towards your personal success in the future. An exciting journey does lie ahead and the effort you put forth now will pay off later and often times forever!

A Quick Look at How YOU Will Be Creating Success

Success online is at the core a 4 step process nothing more complex than this and this is exactly what you are going to be learning here at Wealthy Affiliate. Here is a quick diagram breaking down the process.

Broken, down, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Choose an Interest. This can be anything at all, any interest, passion or even something you have no personal experience with.

Step 2: Build a Website. Your website is your foundation and we have the most sophisticated and feature rich website and hosting platform here at Wealthy Affiliate in SiteRubix.

Step 3: Attract Visitors. You are going to be learning all about how to get traffic and visitors to your website. The first focus is FREE traffic and there is A LOT of it out there.

Step 4: Earn Revenue. Once you have people on your site and traffic, you can earn revenue. There are over 50 ways you can monetize traffic online!

As you go through the training, this is going to be covered in detail. As mentioned, absolutely EVERYTHING you need is here at WA to facilitate this process!

Before we go any further...

We want to give you two simple pieces of advice within the Wealthy Affiliate community.

Piece of Advice #1: Do not be afraid to ask questions! There is 100,000's of people here within WA and many, MANY experts. You need help, please ask!

Piece of Advice #2: Take action on what you learn! Action leads to success. You could read and watch the training until you are blue in the face, but if you never take action on it you won't achieve any success.

We don’t want to put any pressure on you and definitely do not want to overwhelm you as you get started, so we are going to give you three simple tasks to perform (as noted below). Spend a few minutes today and complete these tasks! :)

You are currently reading lesson 1 of a 10 lesson Getting Started Course. This course is going to step you through the process of getting started. It will answer all of the questions that you have about earning money on the Internet, and will reveal exactly how to do it.

If you ever need to get back to your training, simply click the Get Started Here button within the side menu. This "smart" button will always take you back to your last completed task and you will also see your progress through the training.

Click the "You Are Here" to get back into your training at any time.

Your Current Tasks :)

In this Lesson you will become involved and immersed within the awesome community at Wealthy Affiliate. This is a community that cares about your success, and one where you will create wonderful relationships within the industry. You will soon learn that you can SUPERCHARGE your learning and ultimately, your success by being active in the community, and immersing yourself.

This starts with uploading a picture, adding a few words about yourself in your profile description, and getting involved in a live chat with others. These tiny steps are referred to as your "Account Setup" tasks which we will discuss below in a little more detail.

Right now, there is no reason to delay your training, let's get started with your Tasks for today.

Task 1: Watch The Walk Through Video Below

Your first task today is to watch the Wealthy Affiliate Walk-through video. This video will walk you through Wealthy Affiliate, show you how to find your way around, show you how to get help, and ultimately show you how WA will help you succeed within the online world.

DISCUSS THIS VIDEO HERE: Wealthy Affiliate Walkthrough - How YOU Can Benefit From WA

At any time if you have questions as you are watching the Wealthy Affiliate Walkthrough video, simply leave them in the comments section below the video and we will be more than happy to help you out. Remember, there is a TON of help available whenever you need it.

Task 2: Complete Your Account Set-up

Your final task for today is to set-up your Wealthy Affiliate account. I have created a quick video walk-through showing you how to set-up your account:

DISCUSS VIDEO: Setting Up Your WA Account is EASY

Setting up your Wealthy Affiliate account only includes two items:

(1) Adding a profile image (can be anything you want)
(2) Adding a personal description

This may seem very simple (and it is), but there are definite reasons that you are going to want to complete the account set-up process. Here are some benefits to setting up your account:

  • Leads to better networking within the community
  • Your “followers” within the community will go up at least 5x (in some cases)
  • People are more willing to help you if you have a profile
  • Adds a level of credibility within the community
  • Shows others that you are serious about SUCCESS

Immerse yourself within Wealthy Affiliate and you are going to experience a lot more success. It is a rare day within WA when you don’t get to brush shoulders with millionaire marketers hanging out within the community, so take this serious and make your profile (people’s first impression of you) a good one.

Task #3: Understand Your Membership

If you joined for FREE, you currently have a Starter membership . This is the starting point of your success online. You get a good deal of access with the Starter level membership, but you need to know that there is MUCH MORE to be found at WA.

There are huge benefits to going premium when you are ready. Your last task for today is to take a second to learn about our Premium membership and how it differs from the Starter program.

Get All of the "Juicy" Details About Premium Here!

You are in good hands here at Wealthy Affiliate regardless of whether you are Starter or Premium.

Make us a Promise OK?

We want you to make us a promise today. We want you to give Wealthy Affiliate a chance first and foremost. We know that you may have had bad experiences online in the past and we want you to allow us to prove ourselves to you.

We care about YOU and we care about YOUR personal success more than you think.

Do we have a deal? :)

Again, we want to personally welcome you to the community and we look forward to helping you achieve success online, and far exceeding your expectations :)

Your friends,

Kyle & Carson

PS. When you are done your tasks, check them off below and then move onto the next lesson.

In the next lesson we are going to be talking all about Making Money! :)

Tasks 0/3 completed
1. Watch the Walk-through Video of Wealthy Affiliate
2. Watch the Account Set-up Video of Wealthy Affiliate

Easy start of a web page, thank you. Two questions, first of all on the web page it has the first post on it and says to edit or delete, but I can not find how to do that. I can add new posts and edit top title area. I am sure it is simple, just not seeing it. Second question, I was stupid and bought my own domain and had it put into Hostgator, can I transfer that from Hostgator and into here, or am I wise to run that host out and use it in some way? thanks
Reply
JGuhlke Premium
Unfortunately you cannot transfer that domain until 60 days I believe. For the other question, you have to look at the All Posts area, find the post you want to edit or delete, and move the mouse to that area. i think the little menu becomes visible only when you mouse over it.

The topic of my site is ''my wealthy affiliate site'' This site will be address to french peoples around the world that can read english and help them go through the process I am going through now.

The part to get them interested in trying this opportunity will be in french. What kind of keyword should I be looking at that would be in french to catch the interest of google and others seo to rank my page at the top and also the person doing the research.
This is maybe a tough question and I am awaiting any help you can offer me to complete that task.

Very informative, but in my opinion, It's a good idea to create a landing page, not actually landing page but a website that you can promote only one specific product for example make money online or how to give up smoking or something else and with your content and your promotional and motivational words do them to purchase.Do you believe that this works better than other more general websites?
Reply
nathaniell Premium
More general websites will work better long term. If you are selling just one product, then yes, a landing page can work as a way to promote the product, but you still have to send traffic there!

With a multi-page website you actually get organic traffic from Google to your website. With a single-page landing page, you'll be reliant on paid traffic or referral traffic. Google simply won't rank a single-page website most of the time!
Reply
I absolutely agree with this. I hadn't thought! I think landing page is only profitable if I create paid campagns in social media and ppc
Reply
CannCoder Premium
It your keeps your audience focused. And gives them away to buy now.
Reply
Exactly, this is the reason that I'm thinking to create landing page. because it's more commercial and solve people's problem specifically. I don't know I have to choose. Please tell me Is it better to promote only a specific product or many?
Reply
Having multiple resources for them to buy...example when I buy something from Amazon they show me what other people who purchased the product I bought also purchased...and many times people who purchase a product want the "add on" products...example maybe I want to buy a reverse osmosis water filtration system...so I would offer them books on water and things related to water products, or other whole house water features.

Hi everyone, so I've finished the level 1 training but I can't afford for premium at the moment. And now I'm confused about how do I become affiliated with.. let's say amazon?
I tried looking for how to add links but then I found that I have to become an affiliate of amazon first so I can get the credit. So how do I do that? for amazon or maybe some other affiliates

I think I missed something from the lesson tho, but I only have 22 hours left to ask questions, so I kind of want to use it and say hi to everyone :)

You will learn about becoming affiliated with Amazon in the future. Right now you're building your foundation which you can completely do without becoming a premium member. That can be done when it works for you!

Hi, and welcome to your online journey.
have you gone through the bootcamp level 1 training - i think this is free also.
becoming an affiliate with amazon is just apply for the affiliate status on the relevant amazon site - but in america you need sales within the first 6 months or your account is terminated, don't let that scare you though.
Concentrate on looking for opportunities to add value to others, promote WA - if you manage to get a few referrals then you can afford to upgrade to premium.
or if your niche is really hungry and you know what they need - find this through google as an affiliate program.
You can practice adding links with your affiliate link ( click on the airplane above - linksaand tracking)
to add a link you copy the link and then highlight the text you want the link inserted in and click the chain menu item - paste the link into te box - click on the gear and tick the open in a new window - then click ok.
you have done it.
If you are committed to this and are really enjoying it, get the money together for a yearly subscription - you don't need to worry about it then. start with te $19 first month discount, make sure you really enjoy it and then go yearly.
Good luck with your online journey
Phil

You sign up as an Amazon Affiliate from Amazon's website. Here is the link...

Well, I'm on starter plan so I can't post a link here but its at the bottom of Amazon's main page.
Reply
Kyle Premium
You will get there as you go through the training, the first focus with your website is to build out the foundation, the content and get rankings. Once you have rankings and traffic then you can focus on what you are going to promote.

There are 10,000's of affiliate programs and millions of products you are going to be able to promote as an affiliate, don't ever worry about there being nothing to promote within a given niche. There will likely be 100's if not 1,000's of things you can promote. ;)

There is no sense in putting to much thought into what you are going to promote until you have content in place and an audience to promote to. You will definitely get there though!

Hi everyone,
When I click on my website which I just finished creating(following the video) I get the message "webspace for this domain has not been setup on this server" -- and then I tried the Rubix Site manager and Domains and did not get anywhere. Would anyone be willing to give me a hand?
Reply
Maddy55 Premium
If you went to the SiteRubix Manager and did not see your website there, with a Log in button, then you don't have a Domain and Website set up. If you followed all the steps and it is very recent, then just wait a bit longer for WA 's system to finish getting it live.

Hi,

I already have few niches in mine.
As I do interest in Art, I hope art supplies will do?
Such as brushes, painting (watercolor, oil painting, acrylic paint, etc), or maybe other supplies will do.
So should I elaborate more on this kind of niche? or I'm already in the right track?

Art supplies excellent idea. Ideas, you could do posts on "best easels for oil painting", "best acrylic paint for portraits", how to mount your finished watercolor", reviews on products you find.

Hi Lnorton1,

It is OK, I got lost many times and people here helped me, so don't worry.

What I did was I opened another browswer and paused the video at each step, did the action on my site in the other browser, then came back to the video, unpaused it, and continued all the way through the training like that.

This answer your question Lnorton1?

Regards,

Philip.

so can a WA member have more than one website, you mention that this particular person built a website specifically for snuck helmets, or it was a smaller web in a main website? just thinking if this person is not just selling that product, but many other, would they have to build more websites?

Jay, the guy who makes most of the training video classes here, once had a niche around Snack Helmets and did well with it. Jay has videos on choosing a product Niche, and building one out before your eyes. As a Premium member, you have access to all those videos. Many successful people here have 3-5 websites. I am building out my second one here in WA. Focus your attention on one first. My record seems to be one website per year, working one each one quite intensely, almost every day.

How much do I have to spend? All the features you want me to use like Plug-ins want me to pay money and go Premium. I'm sick of being asked to spend more and more when I haven't made a god damn dime off of this yet, especially since the $50 that Wealth Affiliates costs to be premium just overdrew my checking account yesterday and cost me a $39.00 overdraft fee.
Reply
CoachGom Premium
For now, that $50 is enough. You do not need to spend more. Maybe later when you finish your lesson and already understand how money is being made online.

Just go on with the lessons, learn from Kyle, and you will see the big picture of all these things assembled together to help you succeed online.

Sorry to hear about the overdraft.
There are no upsells here.
Plugins are free, themes are free. You can make use of these free tools to create a decent website.
Once you have gone through the training you may decide to purchase items to support your business; I recently purchased a Premium theme however, its not necessary. It was my own choice as I like the idea that I can make changes to the code and tweak things exactly how I want.

Stick with the training. You will see that it is worth it in the end.

All the best.

I have been here now for over a year, and I am building my second website. I never go Pro or upgrade on a plug in or Theme, there are plenty of free ones that work very well. Remember, someone made those Themes and Plug ins, with their own talent and time, and the only way they see a dime, is if someone upgrades. I went yearly about 6 months in, because it's cheaper and I know that it can take a website 6 months to a year to become successful (depending also on the quality of the content and effort). I had a couple of serious set backs on my first website, it became unverifyed twice, meaning my website became disconnected from Google. It's been about 3 1/2 months now since fixing it again, and I recently made $8 commission on a $100 product that someone bought. I get frustrated too, as I have spent so much time and effort on my site. I am trying a different niche entirely now, hoping it makes money quicker than my first. No business is built in a couple of months or even a year. I love writing, so this is my choice.

I am overwhelmed and skeptical, but very interested. I don't know if I have the skill level to be as success as the career guarantees. I want to start something and finishing it with rewarding results for once in my life. What is some good advice for someone who just learnt about this and is just getting started?
Reply
adreyna Premium
The best advice is to follow the training step-by-step and then take action on everything you learn. When you follow the training you will learn everything you need to create a successful online website. Be sure to ask questions if you need help with anything.
Reply
BarryBullard Premium
I completely understand how you feel and it is common to feel that way at the start. There will be a rough period at the start where you are doing the right things consistently and not getting any results. Pushing through this period will pay off as each action builds on each other until the traction will blow you away. Overall advice: Focus on the power of one. One thing until it's done and then move onto the next thing. You will accomplish much more this way.
Advice on getting started: take each lesson one at a time and do the tasks. Share your success even if it's just finishing the lessons and completing the tasks.

You are in the right place for online success.

Hi, Good morning!

I know your ready to get things moving so I can help you with this...your going to choose the button that says, "MOVE"

A menu will pop up and it'll give you two choices select

"To an Existing Domain", then choose your new domain name you purchased from the drop down.

If you have never purchased any other domain with WA you'll one see one domain name there, so select it...

Then click "I'm Ready, Move My Site!".

Now your website should be moved. Here is a tutorial by Kyle to help.... How to Transfer a SiteRubix Website to Your Own Domain
I hope this helps...let me know if you need any further help...

You're Welcome! I was just moving trying to help you move forward and misread the info. So, my apologies....

Oh! Are you saying you do not have a website to move? You just purchased a domain? Correct?

If that is the case then you will just go to SiteRubix on the left. You will find it in the light blue color.

Select SiteBuilder, then select on a domain I own

Select the upside down arrow your domain should appear

Then enter your website tittle, which will be the same as you domain name.

Select any theme that you want, you can preview them before you decided on the finally one. And, if you decide that you do not like the theme you can always change it later. I've changed mine 3 times with no problems. Not all themes offer the same features so, it is best to preview them if you are looking for certain features.

After you select the theme, click the green button that says
"click here to build the Site"

Here is a tutorial, that can help you through but instead of using
Siterubix.com you are going to replace it with yourowndomain.com
Okay hope this helps, let me know if you get stuck. I will do my best in helping you move forward...

Ben - welcome to WA.
if you puchase a domain here - you pay nothing extra for hosting - it is all included within your premium membership.
there is no cost fortransferring your domain and hosting here is included within your premium membership.
for free members, you have access to the two free sites.
Premium members have access to 25 free sites and hosting for 25 domains.
Hope that has helped a little

While there is no separate "transfer charge", there is a cost incurred to transfer the domain registration to WA. When you do the transfer, you will need to pay for one year of the regular domain registration fee. (That payment extends the domain's expiration date by a full year so you don't lose any of the registration period that you've already paid for.)

Jaaxy.... It's a great and very powerful tool to use as it gives global internet keyword search engines results...! Yahoo, Bing & Google. etc.

However I have some question about this, if Jaaxy gives the global internet search results with a targeted niche keyword(s), as per the Avg. - Traffic, - QSR, - KQI - SEO - Domains. What if my Niche Keyword is targeting a specific geographical area, like specific item for specific country, how do I filter that, or is there any way to filter it....?

I too have this question. In my case what I have done is this.

Let's take "used cars" as an example.I have typed in the following
keyword in jaaxy: "used cars in [my local location]". In place of "my local location" I have provided my local area name.

Jaaxy returned keyword results.Looking at the different new keywords and their traffic it showed, I guess I got what I want.

This is my experience and I am not sure I am right or wrong.
Please try the same and if you have further questions please ask Kyle when he is in the live chat.Hope it helps

I'm not gonna ask "How long does it take to earn $5000 a month doing this", because there are so many different factors, but what I'd like to ask is: How long does it take to earn your first dollar doing this? I think the first one is the most important one because if you can replicate that ten thousand times you got yourself a lifestyle, and might be easier to answer, say, If I dedicate 1-2 hours a day, every day, taking action on every lesson and asking questions about what I don't know or understand? Thanks in advance.

That question still can not be answered. Nobody knows what the true answer is. They can tell you all kinds of scenarios but no one really knows.

There are millionaires that did not make their first dollar for 16 months but, today they are 7 figure earners.

There are people who made their first dollar within months and still not a millionaire.

I personally made my first dollar within 42 days but, I also work like 16 hours a day. Everyone work ethics is different and everyone will earn money at different rates.

You should never focus on the money, just focus on getting started and following through.

Here is an article that can answer your question. I hope this helps.

It does help, and it's not that I don't believe in myself, it's just that I've come across so many online courses and methods to make money online, and there was a catch to most if not all of them, that I'm a bit suspicious when it comes to this, that's why I want to know how much work I have to put in before I see results, although the experience here so far has been very fun and doesn't feel like work at all.

I am glad that it did help and it is really good that you do believe in yourself. Yes, I completely understand. Most of the members here have experienced scams, money hungry programs, and all the above. You are in good hands here. Trust me!

How long will it take depends on how much you willing to work and how hard. I did make a couple small commissions recently and it took 42 days but, I work 12 to 16 hours a day. Most of the time I work 16 hours a day.

From what I seen people say, all their time frames vary. Anywhere between 3 months to even a year. I've even see longer...

Here read this.....

This member right here it took him 1 1/2 years to earn $1000 a month...Here read his blog.... But, guess what just yesterday he posted this...

Hi Community!

I have a simple question. I've actually gone on and started a second Website and I just finished writing and publishing the Privacy Policy AS A PAGE, in order to avoid the Comment Box. However, after it was published as a Page, I noticed that the Comment portion still appears at the end of the Policy. I forgot if there is anything else that I need to do in order to remove the Comments portion from this page once it is published.

Would appreciate some insight and comments. Thank you all in advance.

I'm new to WA and have decided to move my existing website for my side-hustle (computer consulting) over as well as additional non-computer related sites.

I have ten domains that could be used for different niche's... (sites for love/date, computer, make money, save money)

Would you recommend starting 10 different affiliate sites right out of the gate? I'm excited but trying to figure out how to monetize different the topics.

Do I focus on adding content before affiliate links?
Reply

Content brings in traffic, no content no traffic so no point to affiliate links. Running ten sites out of the gate would be a nightmare and I would focus on the highest potential and work down from there

Ok 2 quick questions. Eventually I want my website to host a decent blog library. Would my blogs be abke to get ranked in googled search engine? Or does it have to be a website?
2nd, is it possible to use the free site we are given to launch and start making money? Can not afford premium yet.

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome
Hey Consumer World, welcome to the InwardReport.com. I just want to take a moment to say thank you for stopping at my website and I hope after reading this you will feel much safer and more informed about your Internet online shopping and product Consumer Reports.
A Little Tid Bit
I would like to start out by telling you a little bit about myself. It’s been a long road to get to this point in my life, so here’s a little insight into my journey. I was interested in finding a new source of revenue to support my ever-growing family but, I also wanted the luxury of work working from home when I choose to do so.
Throughout my working history I was never good at the standard 9 to 5 jobs. It was either a problem with my work schedule being at times that wasn’t conducive to my personal schedule, or I had issues with my employer or their standards of operations, or simply just the people I was working with.
I love trying new products and I also love helping others but, I struggled with trying to combine the two into one great service to help my fellow consumers, everyday people just like yourself. There is nothing more that makes me happy than spending time with my family, trying new products, helping others, traveling, outdoor activities, fine dining and woodworking. But just after spending time with my family, my two favorites of these would be trying new products and helping other people to better improve their day-to-day lives.
"For The Love Of" Helping Others
The reason I want to help people is because I love the world we live in and I want to see it get better every day. Whether that means introducing new products that enhance everyday consumer's lifestyles, interacting with new people to bring them comprehensive up-to-date consumer reports from all over the world and bringing people from all different walks of life closer together in a friendly and nonbiased community.
Introducing new products that can enhance consumer's lifestyles is very important to me. Reason being, I am also a consumer and just like you, I buy products. In most cases, when a consumer buys a product they have little to no knowledge about it. Here at InwardReport.com I aim to provide comprehensive up-to-date consumer reports on products that consumers generally have interest in. I want to give you information and help you find the best product that fits your needs in the most efficient way.
I love interacting with people from all walks of life daily. I don’t care if it's a grandma of seven grandchildren that works from home or the busboy at my favorite restaurant. To me, we are all the same in the end. I want us all to be well informed in our daily purchases. People deserve the right to shop online and to do it safety. I want to inform them on products so that they can do just that. For me to be allowed the privilege of day-to-day interactions with my fellow consumers is very rewarding. This is just a few of the reasons why I love to help people.
Mission Statement
My goal at InwardReport.com is that of giving people an inward report from an outsider’s perspective just like yourself. Who has nothing to gain from expressing his opinions and reviews on products, that I love and use. Except for the fact of helping my fellow consumers that is!!! I’m tired of people buying products that leave them very dissatisfied in the end. It may be due to cost, quality of the product or simply they didn’t buy what they actually thought they were buying.
I aim to provide my readers with the most trustworthy consumer report website on the Internet. It is my personal mission to put an end to the fraud associated with Internet shopping. I want my readers to leave my site feeling welcomed, safe, well informed about products, and confident with their online shopping purchases/experiences. I hope that while you're navigating my site keep these points in mind.
If you ever need a hand or have ay questions, feel free to leave me a coment below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
All the best,
Ken B.

I have already put content on my website, like a post about weight loss, my privacy page and my about me page. When I go to customize, my options seem very short. I am trying to make my website look exciting, because right now it looks really bare. Is there another platform I can switch it to and customize it? I want to have a picture in the background and be able to change the colors of everything. It just looks not so professional and I want to make it look more exciting.

You can edit the look of your site in your theme settings. You should be able to do the editing you want there. You should go to Appearance > Themes, there you should be able to customize your current theme.

The look and design of your website depends on your theme so if you find that your current theme doesn't let you make it the way you look, then you'll have to research other themes to see which one has the options you're looking for... it may have to be a paid theme but there are tons of free ones out there too. You can search for themes also in Appearance > Themes.

Now I need to put in the privacy policy. No matter how many times I try; when I login to my new site. I go straight to

Hi people. :)

This is a bit off-topic, but I'm momentarily stuck on it and I'd like to hear another opinion. ^^;

I have an old alias from years ago when I was more-or-less active on the internet, so some people knew me by it, and a relatively newer one that's more "unique," and maybe easier to brand. Would it be better to stick with the first one or the second? (or just make up a new one?)

PS: neither is the one I'm using now, btw. XD
Reply
JHaugland Premium
It depends f the ones you want to reach now is the same that knew you by the old alias and if it's important that those people still can find you by the alias.
If not, would go for the brandable one (or as you say make up a new one)
Reply
Well, they weren't many, so I don't think it would be a problem to tell them I changed my username ;).

Though, I just thought of something else: that "unique" name is unique because it came from an item in an old (as in Windows 95) game. I'm not sure if that would be a problem. :\

(And apparently my old posts on deviantArt show up on google by looking it up on image-search. Funny O.o)

You don't have to use the website platform here if you don't want. You can use an existing site that you already have set-up with the training here or you can start fresh.

Sometimes with an existing site there may be some things that you have done in the past that could be hurting your rankings (backlinks, spun content, duplicate content, low quality content), so starting fresh and doing things properly from the start can be advantageous. But this is totally up to you.

Either way, I am here to help you along the way Jessamine!

Excellent training and Jaaxy also excellent tool.
I have a question regarding Jaaxy keyword search and domain availability?
After connecting Jaaxy to my site and doing some trial searches I did a search for keywords for one of my offline business's and it showed that .NET and.ORG domains where available, I clicked "find more" and it again only showed those 2 domain extensions available.
However when I did a search on Go Daddy it showed that .CO.UK was available. As I am in United Kingdom this was important information (I actually purchased the domain).
Is Jaaxy mainly US domains and does the keyword research only cover US searches?
Thanks in advance for any info on this.

I don't think sitebuilder is designed to to add information to the sidebar. That is done through your widgets.

How about advice for young mothers just starting out. Typical problems and how to handle them, then branch out into other topics about child rearing, tips, general advice?

You could also promote products geared toward new parents?

I love Jaaxy for helping me choose a niche. I just went there and plugged in 'Parenting' and got back a bunch of keywords that were not quite appropriate for a niche as the competition for those keywords was very high.. So I plugged in 'parenting help' and got another list, further drilled down. Now we are getting somewhere:

Right at the top just under parenting help were these two great keywords (see the image).

So, you could make a site about parenting in general but with your posts addressing much more specific issues utilizing those keywords with less competition. Or, you could focus your site on 'parent helping parents' and go from there.

Note: I offered this similar advice to someone else earlier. I am new to WA so don't take my word for it, but this is just the sort of thing Kyle stresses in his training sessions.

Hmmm. Very interesting. Brainstorming here.... I can see a name like supportformommy.com or something similar... your about me page would be great due to your working experience with the preschool. I can see a section highlighting common problems that you have come across that new mom‘s and single moms face based on your work environment. And of course there will be a section of solutions. You can highlight real problems that you see with students on a daily basis. Also as an educator you probably have tons of ideas on how to improve things in the preschool arena which you could blog about And of course you can market all types of products associated with education, family support, stress relief...sky’s the limit. You can also try googling new moms, single moms, and do the ABC method Kyle talks about to see if it jogs any ideas for you. Hope that helps and good luck

I've messed up on a step somewhere & I don't know how to find it. My website currently has a home page, about me, privacy policy & a how-to page. These are across the top of my website.

When I type in my website address to see what it looks like to someone visiting my site, it comes up with my website name but it says "Nothing Found". When I click on the tab that says "Home" then an introductory page comes up that I wrote when I first started building the site.

Not sure what I did wrong but I have it all messed up!

When someone types in the website address, it should come to the "Home" page....right? I'm sure when they see "Nothing Found" they just leave the site.

Thanks in advance for helping.

If I build a rubix site, with the intention of moving it to my own domain later, what happens if the domain name is not available? Should I register a domain now or can I change the rubixwebsite name when I move to my own domain afterwards? Thanks in advance!
Reply
DynamicDavid Premium
Before you can move a subdomain site within siterubix, you specify the domain name that you want to move it to. This domain name needs to belong to you at this stage, and you need to point the DNS setting associated with that domain name to the WA name servers.

When you buy the domain name is totally up to you, if it is available now, and if I am happy with the name, and I am pretty sure that I am going to build a website using it, I buy now before someone else grabs it. That is how I roll.

When moving a site within WA, WA include an amount of work in the background, so that you do not lose SEO juice, and informs search engines that your site has moved from a to b.

Don't worry about having Published your site even with nothing in it. No one will find your site anyway, without content and keywords. When choosing a domain name, I always err on the side of caution and pick the broader name. You can always start by writing about a narrower topic, such as hunting, and as your site grows you can branch out - with a more broad domain name you are not limiting yourself. I did that with my first site and am now locked into a very narrow niche :O

It says: "I mean, seriously, Football Snack Helmets can be a lucrative niche (as Jay, who runs our Live Classes has proven in a Premium case study). FootballSnackHelmets . com currently nets Jay around $700 per month online.

This sort of success can happen within any niche."

I would hardly call $700/month success, is this the kind of money we are looking at? I don't mean to sound rude, but I haven't seen any stories where people make more than $1k a month doing this, maybe it's because I'm new, but if anyone could enlighten me I'd appreciate it!

Well, do that a few times, and $700 per site doesn’t look so bad...

Just like buying a house and renting it out. Rent on one house is not enough. But 10 houses? 20 houses?

It would be different for every person. Also consider that this is a niche site that maxes out after a while. How much can you really write about Foodball Snack Helmets? You can build an authority site with a lot more content that can make more money. So rather than 5 or 10 sites, you could just build one. Also there are different ways to monetize. Once that little site is throwing off cash, you could sell it for more immediate money and then move on to the next niche.

BNakedScam Premium
It really depends on your niche to be honest. If your niche has high ticket products to sell, like a gym equipment that cost $5,000 and you can earn a 10% commission, then your earnings will be higher than a niche that can only fetch low ticket commissions.

So, research your niche carefully and see if the niche is suitable for you to achieve your goals.

@IGrieverl if you want to promote high ticket products, it requires a whole new level of skill. If this is what you want, you can contact me at barenakescam@gmail.com, or you can message me on Facebook:

One site, a few hours of work, residual income. That is more of a micro niches, a larger niche site can yield as much as you are willing to work for, $10k/mth, $100k/mth...all is viable.

Jay just did this as a case study, and it turned into a nice stream of income for him.

With other sites you can have more content and more items you review. He is showing that you can make as much as a minimum wage job by literally reviewing ONE item and then a little website maintanence. I would love to make $700 extra per month by spending 20 minutes/ month.

There are many people who make 1k+ per month and I've even seen a few that have make 1k in a day (not everyday but enough to have a few grand per month.)

WA is definitely not a get rich quick scheme. It's about building your business. You have to choose what business you are going into, what you know you would enjoy or be able to write the most about the most effectively. That is one of the keys... quality, effective, keyword content.

It takes a few months to get started because it really is a new business you are starting. The process will be slow by nature.
