Search engines like Google, Bing & Yahoo are after ONE thing. The most relevant content.

If you can build out your website in a way that is ready for SEO (as discussed in the last lesson) and create quality, relevant content, you are going to have a bright journey ahead of you within the online world.

The thing that most people stress about is being a "writer", you DO NOT have to be a writer to be successful online.

You simply need to communicate with your audience, the same way that you would with a friend or a family member. And if you put the emphasis on helping people, you are going to be able to build trust, which is going to lead to long term and sustainable success online.

SiteContent, a Writer's Dream Platform

As both a Starter/Premium member, you have access to the SiteContent platform here at Wealthy Affiliate. This platform offers you some incredible features as a writer that will lead to more efficiency, accuracy, and speed with your content creation.

You can access the SiteContent platform through the Websites menu.

SiteContent offers you some unbelievable features that are going to make your life as a "blogger" much more efficient.

  • 100's of critical grammar and spelling checks
  • Duplicate content checker
  • Automated publishing directly to your website
  • Writing goals and accomplishments
  • SEO analysis and checks
  • Content structure analysis
  • Ability to template content
  • Vocabulary enhancement suggestions

This is where you are going to be creating all of your content moving forward. You will be setting writing goals and leveraging the "feature rich" platform for writing. If you are worried about your writing skills, the SiteContent interface is going to help you understand where you are making writing errors and help you correct them in a very efficient manner.

It is going to be your go to writing tool moving forward and it is exclusive to Wealthy Affiliate members only!

I have created a little walk-through of SiteContent, showing you around the platform and how to best benefit from it.

DISCUSS VIDEO: Creating Your Initial Website Content (Framework)

Task 1: Creating Your "About Me" POST

To establish a brand online in any niche, you need to build trust with your audience. The best way to initially do this is through an "about me" style page. Every successful website will have some information about their brand, who they are and why they want to help people.

Your first task today is going to be to create your About Me page and you are going to be doing this directly within the SiteContent platform.

Within your Templates tab, you are going to see that you already have the framework for your About Me page already outlined.

Simply click on the About Me template and it will take you into the SiteContent editor. This is where you will be creating your content for your About Me page.

The first thing you are going to want to do is choose a title that is appropriate for your about me page. There are several options that I suggest you choose from in terms of your naming convention.

  • About Me
  • About NAME (ex. About Kyle)
  • About SITE (ex. About Real Deal Affiliate, About RDA)
  • About Us

The most natural and the option that I have always used because I feel it resonates and creates the most trust is "About Me" or "About Kyle", because it is the most direct. It feels like I am here for you and I am here to help (which is the case with every site I create).

Then you will want to populate the content. Do know that this is just a guideline, as you edit this post you can add new headings and of course you are in full control of the content and your story.

This is not a rigid exercise here, you are YOUR OWN brand and you can build out your content in any way you like, but this will give you a good guideline here.

After your are done doing this you will be click the Publish button in the right corner, just above your editor. This is going to allow you to publish directly to your website (see below).

Upon clicking Publish, you will get a pop-up that will allow you to choose how you want to publish the content. This is a 4 step process.

Step 1: You will want to choose your website that you want to Publish to, in this case it will be my "basketballskillsanddrills.siterubix.com" website.

Step 2: Choose "Post", not a "Page". The reason is all POSTS allow for comments on them and this is a page on my website where I am going to want to allow people to leave comments and feedback. Pretty much every article you publish moving forward will be done so as a "Post".

Step 3: Choose the user. If this is a new site, you will likely only have an Admin user. That is fine, choose that as your user.

Step 4: Choose the URL plug. Leave it "as is". You shouldn't need to change your URL plug, this is something that you can leave.

The Click Publish. Upon doing so, SiteContent is going to run a duplicate content check, and then publish the content to your website. Since you wrote your About Me page it will be 100% unique.

Task 2: Adding Your "Privacy Policy" PAGE

All major affiliate programs and all advertising platforms require that you have a "Privacy Policy" on your website. This is a formality more than anything and it is very much a standardized document.

You are going to want to load up the Privacy Policy Template from your templates.

Upon doing so, you will get a standardized Privacy Policy page. You are just going to need to make a few edits within the content to update this Privacy Policy and make it relevant to your website.

Change YOURDOMAIN.com => Your Website URL

In the case of my website, I changed it to basketballskillsanddrills.siterubix.com. There about 10-11 instances of this that you will need to update within the Privacy Policy.

Then you will want to change:

Change YOUREMAIL@YOUREMAIL.com => Your Email Address

This could be any email you want, you could even create a free gmail account for the purpose of this. Or if you don't feel comfortable leaving your email at the moment, this can be something that you provide to people at a later date.

Upon updating the YOURDOMAIN.com and YOUREMAIL@YOUREMAIL.com to your website details, you will want to Publish the Privacy Policy to your website.

Publish as a Page.

The reason you want to create this as a Page, not a Post is because Pages don't allow for comments. You don't want people commenting on your Privacy Policy, whereas you are going to want to allow for comments and engagement on the rest of your website (as it is good for rankings).

**Note: Your Privacy Policy is duplicate content because it is a stand document. SiteContent is going to warn you about this when you attempt to publish, and that is completely fine. Publish anyways, we are going to be blocking the search engines from seeing this.

After you publish your Privacy Policy, you are going to want to log into the back office of your website (Wordpress Admin area) through the SiteManager or through SiteContent. When you are within the editor for this page, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see the following settings.

Check off the Robots Meta NOINDEX and the Robots Meta NOFOLLOW. These will make sure this page (which is all duplicate content) does not get indexed in Google. The Privacy Policy is the ONLY page you want to do this for as it is duplicate content.

You are all set with your first few pages of content on your website. Kudos to you for your hard work thus far, in the next lesson we are going to be covering navigation on your website and how to create custom menus. ;)

Hey there! I am just getting started with WA, but I'm very eager and excited to get rolling! I have a couple niches in mind as I am already in the online sales world, but I'm also interested in the WA affiliate marketing. Why is it recommended in the video to not do both?

I am in the middle of building my first web-site. Somehow, I have created a Page rather than a Post...can I transfer it? I require the ability for readers to leave a Comment...the facility doesn't appear to be present. When do I Publish? Whilst still building, or will you tell me when?
Reply

Hi DMWA I don't think you can transfer from a Page to a Post. I think you'll have to copy the content in the Page then delete the Page. Then go to Post then Add New and paste the content that you copied from the Page in it. Then hit Publish once it's to your satisfaction.

Thank you Topiej - I actually did it subsequently - copied my Page content, started a new Post, and copied. Seems to habe worked. Thanks for your help. David

I seem to have fixed the Page/Post problem, and the page appears to allow Comment. Good. Now, when should we Publish, given that I am still in early basic training?

Hi All,
Just need help with the Policy Page, as I published it as a 'Post' and not as a 'Page', and now cannot figure out how to change to it from 'Post' to 'Page' in the back office. There must be a tab there somewhere, but I haven't found it yet.
Any help here appreciated.
Thanks

Hi! Question...Regarding choosing a niche. I was considering doing something for parents raising children with special needs (since I am one of them). However, I feel like I only know my story, I am certainly not an expert on the legal facts when it comes to school laws or medical issues. I feel if I a questioned was asked of me, I would probably turn to google to help find an accurate answer. Would this be an appropriate niche for me to start with?...and is this really selling something or just offering information and can you make money by offering information only? Thanks for any help and insight you can offer?

Hi Donna, I'm new here myself but I think it would be more than appropriate to build a site around your personal experiences. Seems to me to be the best kind of niche. You can always say you don't know or don't have the answer to someone's questions. Which seems to me to be very authentic.

Since I've just remodeled two homes I was thinking about Wood Flooring as my niche. I've done extensive research on the subject and have learned a lot by doing it myself. I've worked with Lowes, Home Depot, Lumber Liquidators and Floor & Decor. My problem is that Floor & Decor (my favorite) doesn't have an affiliate program. Would it still be worthwhile to use this as my niche.

At last count, there were 3434 design themes to choose from in lesson 04. Although I selected more than several possible candidates, I don't think I went through the entire section. As the number of them continues to grow, has anyone thought about placing different themes into smaller groups. Example: All Christmas themes can all go into a Christmas category.

If you use the "feature" button you can actually choose want you want your theme to have and it will show results based on the features you selected : )

It can be overwhelming choosing a theme. I knew nothing about choosing a theme and ended up with 30 of them saved.

If you know what you are looking for, maybe try the feature button.
I hope this helps.

Hello everyone, I hate to say this but I have back peddled. I'm very frustrated at the moment. I'm stuck. I thought I had a good niche but when I moved on to build my website it dawned on me that I'm not even sure what I picked is really a niche or even a profitable one at that, so now I'm back to square one again. I had chose microblading and permanent makeup. I was in the process of choosing a domain and I started thinking I'm gonna have people from everywhere visiting my site and since you have to go to a professional to have any of those services provided, how was that gonna work because people are from all over not just in my city so how was i gonna make that work? I came to the conclusion I wouldnt be able too. So now I'm back where I started. any suggestions? Or is it possible for this to be my niche and I just don't know enough about this to know how to do it? Thanks everyone! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this. I'm trying not to be discouraged but now my brain is like a blank hollow space lol I think it went on strike lol Tonya

Hi,

I think from your website you are able to sell micro blading related products rather than the actual service. That's how you can sell the people everywhere.

You can sell the service at the same time but I think the main focus should be placed on the products - recommending those good products to your audience and encourage them to buy it.

Anyway, just my humble opinion.
Reply
Vickic3 Premium
This is a bit tricky alright, however, do these people who use this service need great skin care- other makeup products etc. Maybe you could slide your niche into more tangible online buying.
Just a thought and don't get despondent/ we all have hiccups, starting out and then when it clicks its all go
You just need to sit quietly and let it all go and wait until a gold nugget grabs you which I am sure it will. Would love to hear how you get on. PM me and in the meantime, I'll get racking my brain too.

Hi Tonya, micro blading from observation is a relatively new process and one that seems to be growing in popularity. So a site that provides information would have a credible audience value.
Some of the chain service providers may have affiliate programs in place.

Microblading + affiliate programs
or
permanent makeup + affiliate programs

Combing micro blading with traditional forms of makeup which have a huge array of products would work.

Just a thought.

Try searching in Jaxxy

Micro blading + your city......... from the looks Houston and Chicago are the capitals for folks searching for that term.

Hi Toyna,

Talk up picking an up and coming niche, the only problem I see with it is what happens if it really doesn't gain popularity, its a trend, and trends as you know can come and go.

This is something you need to think about and somewhat prepare yourself to protect against if you do decide to pursue this as your niche.

Moving forward, as far as promoting the service I don't think that is very profitable, however if you aim more to the service provider then the customer. A business to business approach then the monetary possibility appear.

Inks, guns, gloves, antibiotic creams, sanitation wipes, shop products from cleaning products to professional cleaning services. neon sign providers, signage, photo albums, software to create posters, flyers, business cards.

Hope this help you make your decision,

Calvin

I have been scammed and scammed and scammed again. I invested with four binary companies and lost all of my investments totalling £750,000 Then I was contacted by someone offering help – a company who specializes in binary recovery. I was scammed by them again. By the end of it all I had lost all of my savings and I was in serious debt. I was desperate for help and that made me vulnerable to recovery scams. My husband is not around anymore and I have an 8 year old son with learning difficulties. The pressure of being a single, working mother with a child who needs so much additional attention and support became overwhelming for me. I also felt too traumatized to trust anyone else and I was very afraid, but I had no choice other than to trust HACKETHICS008 AT GMAIL DOT COM or WICKR - recoverygenius. He has been incredibly helpful and supportive and also very understanding about all of my fear and concerns he helped recover all of my funds back within a week . I really hope that others do not have to go through what I did, and I wish that I had realized before things were so bad that I was being scammed. I hope my story might help others to not be fooled the way that I was. He can also render any desired hacking services

When you published your bio page, did you add it to a menu? After you created it, did you click update/save and refresh your browser?

When you say your site doesn't look right, what are you seeing that doesn't look right?

Is there maybe dummy content that still needs to be removed?
Is there a difference in the way it looks on your phone compared to your laptop?

Yeah, some themes by default don't show pages in the header menu.

You can add these custom menus to organize your top menu in any way in which you like, as well as create sub-menus (for themes that will support this). You can also use these custom menus to add within your side widgets on your website (within your sidebar).

Here is a tutorial on how to create custom menus: I use custom menus on all of my websites (over-ride that default menu). It allows much more control and organization....both good things!

Hello everyone. I have a question related to the niche. So I was thinking of promoting a specific type of books. Now of course each book has it's own story, meaning that I would make a website where I would mention all kind of these books and all the customers will be forwarded to the same website. Would this work out? I mean mostly because it would be pointless to promote only one book over and over again. Looking forward to hearing opinions and instructions. Thank you!

Hey there!

If I understand correctly you want to know if a website on book reviews for a certain genre would work out?

If so then yes. On my website I have a book summary page, but I also have other things as well.

The only downside to just selling books is the commissions are really low. Like crazy low.
Reply
RDulloo Premium
I also love reading Manuela, but I don't think it would really work out. What I have noticed is that people who are making full-time income have 300 reviews or more. If one review would be about one book, then you would need to write 300 reviews. If you are able to write 5 reviews within 1 week, then that will bring you to 260 reviews within 1 year. Can you READ that many books within 1 year and ALSO write about them?

I gave up on this idea because of that reason. I would recommend that you choose another niche, just because this business is a lot of writing and you need to find things to write about very quickly.

Yes, that is indeed what I was referring to. And to be honest I havent thought that the commisions are low. Now that u mentioned it I realize it. A book usually is not very pricy indeed. I'll have a thought about it before I make the final decision. Thank you Clittle.

I have just thought of a good idea for you. Instead of reviewing books, maybe you can review devices for books? Like the kindle? You can also review book-lights, bags to carry books, best chairs for reading.. many people also wear glasses when reading. You could promote designer glass-cases for safe-keeping of glasses. You know, things related to reading.. :) I hope this gave you some ideas.

I would choose a particular genre - as opposed to just promoting books. What are your interests. If it is gardening for instance you can promote all books concerned with gardening and the older generation love those. Whatever your interest choose that as opposed to books in general - in my opinion. I am not always right and there will be some who will disagree with me but that is the way it is with these sites. Anything I can help you with I am happy to do so.

Hello Maguy and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate.

When choosing a nice you don't want it to be broad.
You also want to choose something that you will be able to constantly write quality content on without getting bored or running out of things to write about.

Once you have your first site off the ground and running, and you are starting to earn from it, you can then think about creating a new niche website.

We are going to teach you how to properly build a business online here at WA. Don't worry about emails or emall marketing at this point. I have spent some time breaking down the process in the most simplistic way possible. Success online is at the core a 4 step process and I have broken them down within this video: Broken, down, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Choose your niche
Step 2: Build your website/content
Step 3: Get rankings in search engines (leads to traffic)
Step 4: Monetize your traffic (the make money part, through affiliate programs, etc!)

This applies in absolutely every niche and as you work through the training here at WA, you are going to be walked through this exact process. This is fundamental for ANY success online.

If you have any further questions let me know Fe. :)

Good morning everyone. I am having trouble with my niche. I want

Go for one niche for your first site. It gives more focus on building a successful site. Having too many sites at once would be challenging if you just start out.

HI Timothy,

A s you make your way through the training much more will be explained on how the process works with affiliate marketing and the websites.

You have just begum the training Kyle suggests when first starting out it is best to focus one just one website so you can give it your total concentration.

The sooner you fill a website with content the faster you will get ranked to the top of your niche.

I think the drones are a very hot item right now but with you just starting out I don't know if it would be such a good idea I think you will find that you will be facing massive amounts of competition.

However , I do think that the designer bags and wallets would be a better option it has more variables on the directions in which you take it. Do some research before you make your final decision.

AS yo go through the training Kyle will show you how to go about doing that, so for now check of the niche task and continue on with the training.

If you have problems don't hesitate to utilize the chat room to get your answers.

Good Luck!!

Wow! This is great stuff, the thought of writing about 93 words was a bit scary, I kept on asking myself of what I was going to say, however after getting on the wheel of writing everything just came naturally and fell into place mostly easily as I was writing about something I knew, and has experience on. Though I need review if what I have written is up to scratch.
Thanks.

Hi I just wanted to ask what did you do to make it easier to focus and write because I get scared also when it comes to having to write a lot of words then trying to make sure everything is perfect. Thank you

First of all I made myself believe that I can do it. Secondly I just started writing, since this was about the About me, It just came naturally as I tried to answer the quideline questions under each heading as truthful as it is because it is true I love traveling and what I told is the truth I did not have to create but wrote what I know. As per advice choose a ninche of what you truly know or are interested in. As you write ideas would naturally keep following that you don't have to bite your finger, then edit them after drafting everything. You may jump from one heading to another adding what is relevant as you go along until you are done.

You'd probably start by building your own niche website which is something related to a product segment of Amway.
I am sure though, with the same amount of effort you'll get more successful by selling niche products from Amazon and don't have to buy anything in advance :)

Hi Manny,

My advise being a prior MLM marketer would be that you present to Amway what you want to do , and see what there response is.

Even though working with Amway is sort of like affiliate marketing because your promoting their products the difference here is they have very strict guide lines for their distributor to follow.

But if you did do this to enhance your distributorship with then I don't think they will allow you to mention in the content of your blogs that it is an Amway product which sort of defeats the purpose of promoting their products in a blog style of marketing.

It would be very hard to pull this off because your going to try to recommend a product without revealing its name until our visitor clicks on a link that takes them to that product and unless you have a Amway authorized e store i'm not sure how you could do it.

Unless you had your visitors contact you directly through email to purchase the products I just don't see how it would be possible to make that work.

However you could always try a niche and not the Amway products and see how that works out for you more than one stream of income is always a good idea.

Wow Possumiane great display of business oriented wisdom their.

Hope this helps,

Calvin

The point of the website was actually to keep the Amway name hidin from the products, they have a bad reputation, but I can’t say the same for there products. My goal is to slightly increase product sales, door to door sales does not seem like a viable option in contrary.

Hi.
Some keyword results on Jaaxy don't contain all info, like for example aerobic training for weight loss: AVG: 260 QSR: (blank) SEO: (blank)
What does it mean?
Is it a good keyword?
• Can You add more than 5 keywords when choosing & building a list of keywords and is there a limit?

• As far as the keywords go, does every set (5, should 5 be the limit...) apply to each article/post, or the whole website?

2.) And as for the access to 2 Training Classrooms, does the access have a time limit? Cause I saw something like "7 days"...
Also, what steps can I take to complete my websites in to start generating traffic? I am still on the free membership, and don't have money to upgrade yet.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Keywords are the premise of all of your content. Ideally you will be finding keywords with a lower competition (also known as QSR) because it means that you are going to be competition with less websites in Google when you go to create your content.

You want your keyword to meet the following criteria:

(1) Must be lower than 200 QSR initially, as you get more authority in search engines you can tackle more competitive search terms.
(2) Must get some traffic, I ideally aim for over 50 searches per month
(3) Must make grammatical sense

Once you have your keyword, you are going to create a page or a post on your website targeting that keyword. It should be within the following places in your content:

(1) Somewhere in the page/post title
(2) Somewhere within the first paragraph

And then write your content naturally and make sure it is engaging. People search "keywords" when they are looking for something so as you start getting ranked under these keywords, you are going to start to see traffic.

Once you have traffic...you have a ton of opportunity to generate revenue.

Hope this helps you out The!

I just finished the lessons but nothing in them tells me how to add affiliates to my website. I was under the impression that I could get started and earn money as a starter member but that is not the case. I cannot afford the monthly costs to become a premium unless I start earning money AND I cannot earn money unless I become a premium member. Catch 22. So disappointed.
Reply

Hello and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate.
You can earn money as a free member.

Not going premium just means you don't have complete access to everything.

At this point in the training, your website is not ready to sign up with affiliates yet.

It has nothing to do with whether you are a premium member though.

Affiliates want a site that is established and has a good flow of traffic and trust.

They require you to make a sale within a certain amount of time. If your website isn't getting the traffic, then you may not make a sale.

The training helps to get your site ready for this.

I know what you mean by not having the money. But I chose to cut out something like Starbucks Double Shot mocha.

They are $2.50 per can (on sale) and I would have 1 to 2 a day.
That alone pays for the monthly membership.

The program here works. Even as a free member you have Google, Youtube etc that can help you as well.

I hope this helped in some way.
Wishing you the best in all you do

I would follow the training before posting content on it though.

However, you can write a post here in WA on your profile anytime you would like.

Before publishing, you need to add 2 tags (keywords describing your pos) which will make it easier for other members to find if they need to.

I was reading another post regarding cost. I understand the premium fees, but someone said something regarding hosting as an additional monthly cost. I also understand purchasing a domain has a price. Is that one time or monthly? If I already have a domain with hosting, can I use that, or do I have to use what is offered here? And even if I don't have to use this, is it recommended to make success a little easier? Sorry, this turned into a multi question---LOL!
Reply
MariaB4 Premium
If you buy a domain through WA, the hosting is included in the price, so no additional fee.
For the domain you buy, you pay an annual fee.
You can use your existing domain and it's your choice if you want to transfer to WA.
The success is not related with the domain hosting at WA :)

Hi, within my set up it was advised that a .com domain would be easier to get rankings in google which I signed up for through wa. The domain cost 13 dollars a year roughly and is renewable at the end of the year so quite cheap really it worked out about £10 in gbp. You don’t have to do this but t is advised for higher google rankings. It is your own choice though, you can stay with the rubixsite if you wanted to.
Reply
Robert-A Premium
You get one of your own domain names at no cost as well as your free hosting for your SiteRubix sites.

So if you already have your own domain then you can transfer it over and have it hosted at no cost.

For other domain names you create you pay the for the hosting and it is really cheap for the year.

The cost to buy a domain name from WA is a one off.
Once you buy it, its yours for life the same as if you buy from any other company.

Hope this helps.

Also within premium membership you get 25 paid hosted sites and 25 free sites as far as I am aware. I myself have never had to pay extra for hosting since joining and haven’t come across this in my experience. You just pay the cost for the domain IF you want to transfer your free site to a .com (paid) domain. :) hope this helps!

Hi Robert, I paid for the domain through wa and it came up as renewable for the year so not for life. Is this dependable then if you can get the domains for life or is it just hosted through wa for the year but then the domain is yours to keep? Question from a question :D lol

As far as I know you buy the Domain then it is yours.
WA cannot take it back.
Its the Hosting that is payable each year.

To answer your questions:
1. Hosting is included in the monthly cost of $49.
2. Purchase of your own domain is a yearly thing. That will be about $14 per domain per year.
3. If you already have a domain with hosting, you can transfer your hosting to WA. That will save you money because, as mentioned above, the monthly fee of $49 at WA is inclusive of hosting. If you retain your current hosting plan elsewhere, that will be an additional cost to you.
4. At any rate, whether you will move your current domain's hosting to WA or not, you are entitled to build new websites here at WA. Ultimately you may realize that you would like to develop a new niche not covered by your current website elsewhere.
5. Having your domain hosted at WA will give you certain advantages on the technical side -- like monitoring your site's health (of course, that is something that is also provided by your current hosting company). But you can apply whatever you learn here to your currently existing website that is hosted outside of WA.
I hope I have answered your questions.
Welcome to WA! :-)

Ok I was just pondering that. So to answer the question you buy the domain for the year (With hosting from Wa) and it’s the hosting that is renenwable not the domain. That’s clearer now thanks! :D

HI Louise,

I think you had it right the first time

You have to renew the Domain yearly it is the actual website.
The hosting is provided with your paid premium membership.

and also I would like to add that you can get the membership for only
$29.95 a month if you pay $359.00 US up front (that's a little added bonus for paying for the full year all at once)

Hope this helps,

Calvin

No, the hosting is entirely free for one of your own domains.
Just like any other company you buy a domain from you pay to renew each year.
All your SiteRubix are free as a premium member.
Hope this clears up any confusion.

My second question is on images, is there a place that we can go get general images to upload to our site? (Such as our logo image) My niche specifically is make up, so im wondering if there is somewhere i can get general photos of differemt makeup or do i just find images online wherever and is that allowed? Hi Patricia - Plugins are used to extend what your WordPress program can do. You access them from your WordPress backend. You enact them to specific things.

For images - I believe you would need to be a Premium member to access The Site Content (the ultimate writing platform) It's found under the Websites.

HI Samuel,

With you already being involved in a group in Facebook you have an advantage coming out of the gate.

You have a following already that is a great idea.

I would suggest that you go thorough the OEC training to get your niche site up faster and running.

Then drop back and do the bootcamp and start the second site.
Kyle recommend sin the training when starting out its best to just do one site until you get all the procedures down

It can become overwhelming if you have two sites running and run into a snag with something it could set you back a little.

Were as if you only have one then you concentrate on it and it alone.

But in the longer and when it comes down to it, it is your choice to do want you want to do.

Good Luck either way,

Id on't think you want to allow anyone the ability to just leave un-monitored comments on your site.

your niche is your audience, or a group of people. you talk to your niche/audience through your website blog. in that conversation when you review/mention products - you would use your affiliate links to products/service your niche may find of value. when they buy those products/services you recommend you make a commission from referring the sale.

Hello all, Today is my first day at this and although I understand the concept and it does make sense. I have one observation/question.

When I personally search for a product, I never go to Google. I go directly to Amazon and search. Finding what I want, and purchasing it right from Amazon or an FBA affiliate, no 'middle-man' Web site. I see this as a trend that is growing and won't slow anytime soon.

Am I missing something, or does this not negate the process/training taught here?

I'm not trying to be negative, just looking to further understand the potential.

Thx,

That's always a possibility. Your blog is just another way for Amazon or other affiliate groups to make money. If they didn't think it worked I'm sure they wouldn't have developed associate programs. There are also other affiliate companies such as clickbank. Jim
Reply
HGraham018 Premium
I am the same way! I love Amazon for my online shopping. I don't do too much through engine searches -as I have done enough price comparisons in the past to know Amazon is priced decently.

The potential here is through content, articles/ information, that you post on your future website. For example, say you have a gardening niche. Actually, I have found more specific niches to be best. So maybe your niche would be how to create a fruit garden.

In this case, you wouldn't be trying to compete to get customers to go online to your website opposed to them going directly to like Amazon or Menards or whomever.

The goal would be, maybe you wrote an article and posted it on your website about the best way to plant your fruit seed. Maybe it was about the best time of the year to plant, or maybe the depth into the dirt that is needed.

When someone, a potential customer, goes online with a question like how to start a fruit garden - even better if they ask what depth is best to plant a fruit seed. The search engine would bring up your website because your article you posted about that same thing.

This brings the customer to you. Then through an affiliate program, like Amazon, you have available to purchase different fruit seeds. When that customer clicks on your seeds, then gets transferred to Amazon.

You would get a commission from those sales. Also, if they continue shopping through Amazon, you would get commission off all the other sales, because that customer went to Amazon through your website. It's like Amazon's way of thanking you for sending that customer to them.

I have only been with Wealthy Affiliate for a short time now, but this is my understanding so far. There maybe even more to all of it, but that is a starting explanation.

Hope it helps and good luck!

How specific do I have to be in my domain name? Example, I want to do something NFL related.. So can I use a domain name such as "mysportstreamshop" or "footballshop" ?? Or Do i need to be more specific such as naming the actual product in which I am selling in the domain name?
Reply

You don't have to be keyword specific, you want to choose da domain that is relevant, but it should be brand worthy and meaningful to you.

When you choose a domain, you are going to want to choose something that is "brandable" versus something that has keywords within it. The reason this is the case is because as you build out your website, you can target as many keywords as you like within the content (that is how you will rank).

I have created a discussion here outlining the process and what to look for when choosing a domain name: This should help you out here and if you ever want to run any domains by me, simply let me know and I will give you some feedback.

PS. You can host up to 25 of your own domains here within the Premium membership on our state of the art hosting platform. :)

When I changed one preposition in my keyword phrase, the QSR decreased dramatically.

For example, "How to feed A dog" vs "How to feed THE dog"

Both keywords are practically same but the second one has a QSR of 15 vs the other one with a QSR of 150.

Can I really rank higher with the lower QSR keyword?

Hello! I've made it through the training, and I have a question about the next steps. Premium membership seems like a pretty good deal for all the services it provides. However, I am a broke (more than broke, actually, thousands of dollars in debt) college student. Even $19 would put a noticeable dent in my savings, which I need for books, cellphone, and basic living expenses, and I would only be able to afford one month of premium membership (unless a website really took off!). So my question is, is premium membership really worth it?
Reply
onmyownterms Premium
Not if you can't sustain it over a long period of time - once you upgrade, you lose the ability to go back to 'free' only - you'll lose access to your sites when you cancel premium. Better to stay a free member, work on your site, and when it starts earning, upgrade to Premium when you can remain a premium member.

Abbie, have a look around the rest of the site, i think you get the first level of bootcamp for free as well.
but there is plenty of information written by the members here.
so use your free sites to start your online business until you can afford it.
financial wise what i would look at is to go with the $19 first month annd then upgrade to yearly at $359, and add in the price of a site at $14. so a total of $392.( a target to aim at!)
this way you pay and then don't need to worry about it for a year!!
so carry on free and put a couple of dollars away when you can.

is it worth it? what is the price of freedom?
if you can find a hungry niche and feed them what they want then yes, but not everything will work.
one of the main things is how hungry are you to learn this, if you are very hugry you will find a way of getting it to work.
good luck Abbie

Hi Abbie,

After the free 7 day trail ends you will lose access to the chat room.

But you can always use the search box now at the top of the page to search for various blogs and other information that can help you advance your site until it is making money and then allowing you to upgrade.

Learn how to publish content, how to install affiliate links into our content, when to insert those links, where you find those links and how to maneuver published content around on your website now, by using the search box to get all that information.

This will allow you to be able to continue to keep adding content to your site while your waiting for it to start earning money.

Then when you can upgrade you'll be able to fall back and fill in the gaps that you didn't learn by doing it that way.

Another source of information is the Word Press site just search for it in a search engine, it too can offer much information on how to do things on your free website as well.

Hope this helps,

Calvin

I am learning things every day, and this is one of the lessons I'm learning and trying to apply myself , Focus on the Solutions instead on the Problems.
Reply
Calvinator63 Premium
Hi Mauro,

That is the way I was taught to look at things not what is holding me back, but rather how can I get around those things.

One is dependent on other factors, while the latter is dependent on my actions.

Focus on the destination, and not the bumpy road you took to get there.

The goal is the destination, while the road is just the path you took to get there, in many cases there are many paths you can take to get to the same destination.

Bet of Luck,

You can also find this within the SiteRubix menu under the "SiteSupport"(to the left). This is where you should go if you ever have loading issues with your website, email issues, plugin/theme issues, or if you accidentally do something that adversely impacts your website.

This support is 24/7 and upon submitting your ticket we will look into it right away Larry!

There's no extra fee for Jaaxy it's included in premium.

You're focus is currently in the wrong directing right now Eric, Making money shouldn't be at the top of your list, although your journey online could potentially earn you a substantial amount of money if you do the right thing.

That means,
1. Finding an area where you can add value to people's lives on a daily basis online through your website. That can be in a specific niche of your choice.

2. The training that you get here for absolutely FREE, you won't find anywhere else, so utilise it.

3. Realise that making money online isn't just a button you can press and the dough starts rolling in, it takes hard work, commitment, dedication, and some failure to eventually crack the code of how the internet really works.

4. The time and money you're investing right now is in educating yourself about "making money online", that's literally the BEST investment you can possible make in this lifetime.

If you go Premium, you will have access to Jaaxy Lite so you don't need to worry about spending extra money there.

You have the FREE account for life so you can build your website using the FREE training lessons, however, if you go Premium, you will have access to more tools and training that will help you to achieve more.

So you can continue with the training and see if you can earn money or invest in the training and know that you will become successful.

You will not start to make money overnight so you will need to think it through - spend more hours with the limited training or invest more knowing that you will have all the tools to help you to become successful.

What is the best way to rank a niche site's SEO so that people see and click on your site versus going straight to the main site?
For example, I Google "Football snack helmets". Footballsnackhelmets.com shows first, before Amazon.com. But if your site doesn't rank above Amazon, wouldn't people looking to buy a particular product just click on Amazon and leave your site in the dust?
Reply
Calvinator63 Premium
Hi Benjamin,

No not necessarily if they are looking for some kind of feed back on how the product has worked for someone else they will click on your post before they click on Amazons.

Reviews of a product are very veg and not all that detailed if you write a full product review that is 800 word long verses the review on Amazon that might be 100 words long which do you think would be more helpful.

Then since they are on your site you provide the link right to the product which saves them time having to search it again.

Hope this helps,

Calvin

Hi! I am investigating and weighing out trying out affiliate marketing. Is there a scientific way to build this business to earn a certain income? I am just trying to find out if this would be better for me to be able to work from home vs. getting a part time job in the evenings/weekends. If I was to work this and seek assistance as a premium member realistically could I get a mentor? How many months would it take to earn 2,000 a month? Please advise in any way that you can. Thank you.

The income potential is unlimited. You just have to be wiling to put in the work. Think of it this way; if you got a part time job, sure you'd have a check every 2 weeks, but you'd also be doing what someone else was telling you to do. If you go the WA way; you're doing what you want and eventually making money at it!

And yes, there is a scientific method.

What makes a customer not just go to the companies website that produced the product? I understand that some companies don't give you all the information you need, but if I were to search for an item I would go to the companies website to get all the details I could from the source that made the product.
Reply
I would usually do research on sites when shopping and then go directly to amazon or ebay to purchase the item. Maybe I'm not the normal, but that's what I usually do when shopping online.
Reply
leoemery Premium
There's nothing stopping people from doing that, but if you've provided your visitors with all the informaiton they need to make a decision - most people will click on your affiliate link that takes them to the company site or amazon to make the purchase
Reply
smartketeer Premium
Hi AJ,

The customer eventually goes to the company site, but if he/she is will arrive on that site after clicking your affiliate link, a cookie will be placed on hi/her computer and any further action/purchase will be associated with you
Reply
nathaniell Premium
Leo is correct, and I'll expand on that.

Many people don't know what they are looking for when they search! They don't always type "buy space heater" into Google. They may type something like "how do I heat my home for cheap". If they read your article on the topic and want to buy your recommendation, it would be more work for them to then go to Amazon, search the product, and compare it on your website to make sure they have the same thing.

They would have to actively work AGAINST you to prevent you from making a commission. Some people may do that, but the majority will be happy to just click your link and be instantly taken to the sellers website.

Hello Carolyn,
A Disney niche sounds great, this way you can write about all the items it produces. You also could hook up with an affiliate company and sell tickets to people before they go. This way they don't have to wait on long lines when they get there.
Hope this helps.

Never worry about competition in a niche. It doesn't matter how many existing sites there are if you build a better one. Just be careful not to include the word Disney in your domain. It is trademarked and you will receive a DMCA take-down notice for the site (trust me on this one, I learned the hard way). You might also find this post of mine helpful.

Disney is a good idea, however is very broad.
Why not starting with something like Disney Princess or Disney's animations by Pixar.

Once you're comfortable with the subject you can move to other Disney animations.

Disney today is too broad, they have Marvel and Star Wars under their roof.
It will more difficult for you to write about everything relate to them.

Hello as Vickie3 answered your questions already but I would like to add that if you decide to go yearly (instead of monthly) you save approx 35% and if you break down the cost it's like $29.99/month. I also read on another member's blog that during Black Friday WA runs a special on yearly membership fee as well.

I'm fairly new (about 3 weeks in) and if I can be transparent the knowledge and tools that I've learned in Level 1 & Level 2 are amazing. Each one of my 4 posts has been indexed by Google.

WA is the 1st online Affiliate Marking Business that I've come across that teaches every step without charging you more and more as you move along in the process before releasing the formula to help you create good content for your site.

If you decide to do the monthly $49 that's it. Oh but you do have to pay for your own domain site (.com, .org) which is like $13 - $15/yr or you can stay with the free domain WA gives you.

That's the only additional cost (outside of the premium membership fee) I've come across - hope this helps.

All the best to you.

Oh my, you do have your hands full and you know exactly where I am coming from. I stay up until wild hours in the morning just trying to find a way to make ends meet. I can now dedicate that time to WA and my crochet gig I have been trying to start up. I really believe even us as mommas can be successful if we just give that moment of peace we finally get to a goal! I wish you success in getting to become that stay at home momma!:)

I am at the choosing a niche stage in my Wealthy Affiliate experience and I want to have a mens lifestyle product business. And become an affiliate for multiple categories of mens products. However I've been told that narrowing down to a small/micro niche is more advisable to begin. Or should I go big with all mens lifestyle products right out of the gate?

Hi! I would advise on choosing a niche the's wide in that way you can elaborate widely on the header topic, make sure to check for strong keywords for each topic on Jaaxy and choose wisely. best of luck to you.

oops I meant THAT"S

Men's products is too broad. To narrow down, you specify a particular product for a particular category of men e.g. products for gray men, products for bald men, ED products, fragrance products, and so on.

When creating the menu I allowed six posts per page. For the blog page.
I don't use featured photo on my posts and maybe that is where the pics would have been pulled from to create the thumbnails.
I instead upload photos for specific parts of my pages.
Where the thumbnail photos should be on the left sidebar of the blog page, grey empty boxes appear instead.
Any suggestions how to get photos into those boxes in the left sidebar?

Hey Tinap,

You only need to ask your question once. Questions are not answered instantly as each of us members try helping out those we can. Sometimes it may take 12 hours before you receive help.

I have answered your already here:

I appreciate knowing that.

I had already created the static web pages and opted against using the featured picture. When I used it in the past I ended up with duplicate pictures on the post - the heading and in the article. (I didn't know it was supposed to be that way). I suspected that is where the problem was and it was confirmed by responses stating, 'yes' I have to use the featured image. I just did that and all is well now.

Thanks.

No, no Tinap, your header image should NOT be duplicated. That's why I suggested to make sure to remove the one you embedded in the WordPress edit window.

Yeaaaah... glad to learn that using the featured image did the trick to fix your issue.

When I realized I had to use the featured images, I had to edit over 100 posts and pages on ONE website. At that time, thankfully, I only had two websites. :-))
