Niches...this is the scariest word for most people when starting out. However, the idea of a niche should not scare you. Instead it is rather exciting!

What is a Niche?

A niche is a distinct segment of a market, in other words an "audience".

When choosing a niche that fits you, you should be choosing something that is ideally an interest, a passion, a hobby, a problem, a need or a want. Almost anything you can think of is a niche and that is why we are going to get you to choose YOUR niche based on things that you are interested in. You can earn money online from absolutely every single niche because there are billions of people out there searching every day.

The idea of a niche can be a little confusing at first, so I have created a video walk-through for this lesson that is going to walk you through what a niche is, how you earn money through a niche, and I will get you choosing your initial direction online. Watch the video below...

DISCUSS THIS VIDEO HERE:
Choosing Your Direction - It Starts With a Niche
!

Your online business should not feel like a day job. Earning money online should be fun, and it is fun. This all starts with choosing a niche that you are interested in and will enjoy working with.

The more you enjoy doing something the less it feels like a job and the more productive you are going to be. Carson and I are immensely passionate about online business and teaching people how to make money online, so that is the niche we have chosen with Wealthy Affiliate.

Your niche could be anything, but at the core of your niche selection it should be something that you "like". Something you enjoy. Something you can talk about. Something you want to learn about.

But Really, a Niche is a Group of People

In the simplest form, a niche is really a group of people looking for stuff. When you select your niche, you want to avoid being too broad with your niche selection. What people fail to understand is the fact that there are millions of people looking for stuff online within what seems to be the smallest of niches, but they really are not.

Because of this, I have spent some time putting together a blog post outlining how you should approach your niche selection, how to avoid going too broad with your niche, and how to really narrow it down to a group of people that are more specific and targeted.

READ BLOG POST: A Niche is a Group of People Looking for New Stuff

I provide you with some real life examples of how to break down a broad niche into more specific groups. There is also a very active discussion there if you have any questions about your particular niche or you want to join in the on the conversation. ;)

Task 1: Choose Your Direction

We want you to select the niche that interests you most and gets you the most excited. You can either choose your own niche at this point or you can choose the "make money" niche (that should be your choice if you have no idea what niche to choose).

A few things that you should understand about niches are:

(1) You are going to be writing content within your niche
(2) You are going to be communicating within your niche
(3) You are going to be choosing products to promote within your niche
(4) You need to enjoy helping people within your niche.
(5) Your first niche PROBABLY won't be your last (so don't worry about it being perfect)
(6) Any niche can become a "full time" successful business

There is NO SUCH THING as choosing the wrong niche.

Also, note that niches can always change. Just because you are choosing a niche now does not mean you will be in this particular niche forever. Either way, please do not spend a week choosing your niche. Within the next 15-30 minutes (maximum) you should have your "starting point" niche chosen.

If you are REALLY STUCK at this point and you cannot decide on a niche, perhaps you may be interested in the "make money" niche.

If you don't have a niche at this point, this will be your niche and we have an Affiliate Bootcamp dedicated to those that are interested in promoting Wealthy Affiliate. Go here if that is you.

Brent the fact you can navigate to it confirms your indexing. No, you did not do anything wrong.

Which browser are you on? What is your URL.

Chrome sometimes does this, If you want search results, then use the search box of the browser and not the address bar.

Also if you have instant nav, aka, taken instantly to the site, which it sound like you may have, you can type the first part of your name and you should get a page with a search box at the top, type you full URL into that and you should get search results.

Or you can try typing http://google.com and then type into the search box. OR put your URL in " like this "URL"

brent,

Try this - when you search for your domain name in google type ..

"site:youdomain.com"

type it just as shown above, but replace your domain name with your domain name. I would search for my personal domain name the same way like this.....

"site:resultswithketo.com"

See if this helps.

Ok, so I've just started - a day ago - and going through the lessons and completing tasks. I am on lesson 3 of the level 1. Task 2 item 3 is about choosing niche. I am not there yet - I have no idea. Can I skip this question and come back to it later.

Hi Christopher, it is not a question, it is a task, and one that is fundamental to your forward movement, how will you know what to name your website, choose a domain name, which keywords to choose, what content to write, how to structure your website if you have no idea about what your niche will be?

Make a list of all the things that interest you, pick something you are passionate about, something you can talk to us about for hours and hours and do it again tomorrow or the next day and next week, most of us have at least one thing we can bang on about.

If you have no passion or interest in your niche you will almost certainly fail, and if you cannot come up with a single thing, then consider going through Bootcamp course and promoting WA.

Read this And this I would suggest you tackle this now, aka, before you move on and pls post back if you need more input from us.

Best wishes

Hello Christopher,
First of all, welcome to WA! In your profile, you mentioned you wanted to learn. You will do that here.

The lessons are always available to you, but I do not recommend skipping any. Each lesson builds on the next.
What are you passionate about? Do you have a hobby? Perhaps there is an area where you have expertise.

The answer to any of these questions could be a possible niche for you.

Do the lesson and keep it in mind. You don't have to select your best niche right now. Select something - maybe an item you recently purchased as a consumer - lol - and use it as a
TEST niche site.

At this stage, I would build it on a free Siterubix site, not on a domain you buy. You can even give it the title Test Niche Site...lol. If you like it, you can always transfer the content to your own domain later - it's easy to do.

There's a ton of training on niche selection, which you can do when it is the right time for you.

This might help guide your thinking: ~Jude

Hi Cliver,
Yesterday I wanted to do some experimentation with a different theme but I did not want to use my original so I created a siterubix copy of my original and did experimenting with the copy. You may want to test several options and having so many options is worth it. Go for it at WA and rack up your achievements.

I have a couple questions before I began to learn how to build my own website. I don't know if these questions will be answered in the tutorial forgive me if they are

1. Why is there a need to own 50 websites? That just seems like a lot to keep up with. Should I have one website per niche assuming I will eventually have several niches? Is it a bad idea to have only 1 website?

2. I am on the started trial but I do intend on going premium. If I have my website created and running by tomorrow (assuming that's possible), what will happen when I decide to go premium by the end of the week? Will all of my information and progress still be here?
Reply
NeBro Premium
Hi Cilver.

You don't need to have 50 websites, you just have space for 50.

That's 25 SiteRubix subdomains and 25 for your own domains.

Many hosting plans offer multiple site ability, they are used for different businesses and ideas or related sites with slightly different content.

You are fine with 1 site, especially at the start of your journey, focus on quality, not quantity. You can create more sites, if you wish to, once you have learned your craft and understand the process and the amount of work involved.

Yes, your stuff will be there as will your progress.

As a newbie, in early march, I built a website with Wordpress. Step after step to understand the process I got stuck in the steps, unclear of how my site was going to be seen or getting anyone to the affiliate sites causing traffic & money for me to generate income and after several weeks of this according to the affiliate sites they claimed I had no traffic/hits/Etc, I got totally frustrated and gave up!

I am trying to start a new website using a domain name I had set up months ago. Instead of opening, I get a page that says "you are seeing this page because the webspace for this domain has not been setup on this server". What does this mean, and how do I fix this?
Reply

Try this. Go to the page where you log in. In the upper right hand corner click on "Build a new website" Then click "On a domain I own" Click on use existing to use the domain.

That should allow you to build a new website on the domain you own. Now if you want your old site back, I don't recommend that, contact support and they will take care of it.

Let me know how this works out either way. Glad you're back.

i am thinking about doing a general review blog, reviewing items i have used myself, and linking reccommended items (that are available there) to amazon. would it be ok going with this idea, or should i try to narrow down for my first niche? i am willing to use this as a long term time investment, as there are no true "get rich quick" schemes.

It think you'd be best off creating multiple sites for different niches. It would help with Google and it would also help in terms of getting a steady readership. The only way to do a very general review site would be to do a HUGE site that looks more like a magazine with a dozen posts per day so that each category would act like a blog.

ok :) that makes sense. and TY for the quick response!

There are so many niches' that when you pick one do it justice with a great website, and then gradually build more sites per niche
Reply

Start with one niche and one website and stick to it. You don't want to create multiple sites at this stage.

But you can review different products as long as they are in the same niche.

It does not make sense to review garden supplies, and then review the best mobile phone....those are 2 different niches.

But you can review different types of garden supplies and gardening tools and related products.

I loved the video about getting the website SEO ready. I do have a question, however. Today when I was building my website, I wanted to add my social media links. As I was doing so, I got a glaring message on the screen from someone who said they were Microsoft and who said that I now had a virus. What??? I tried to X out of it, but my screen was frozen.

I shut everything down, restarted, did a virus check, and came up clean.

Does anyone know what this is?
Reply
NeBro Premium
If you are on Windows, are you using Windows Defender? Could it have been a Windows Defender Window? Likely not but worth asking.

Update your virus definitions just to make sure, then disconnect your PC from the internet, and run a virus scan...thats the first thing to do.

Microsoft does not make unsolicited contact with the consumer in this way, or directly unless you already have an outstanding support ticket, and they certainly do not do it via pop-up threats.

The popup is an intrusion and the fact it is already on your machine means you are at risk. It could be a browser extension/helper trojan for example, which means it may not get activated until you fire up the browser.

You should also run a scan with MalwareBytes, which is better at some detections of this nature, all depends on which AV and browser you are using and when the last deep scan was performed, but this is a good step anyway.

https://www.malwarebytes.com/

If you need more help then PM me with your OS edition/version, Antivirus app you are using, which browser you are using and when you last ran a scan, and if you have noticed any other odd behaviour, and if it happens again, send me a screenshot.

I am downloading Malwarebytes.
Reply
NeBro Premium
Yes, webroot is generally quite good and has been improving over the last 203 years, but it lacks some independent and definitive testing when compared to other suites, which makes it a little difficult to measure, and others have reported they have had to use an additional measure to keep their PC safe and clean, such a using Malwarebytes.

MalwareBytes works in a different way and is generally better with ZeroDay outbreaks and certain other infections and intrusions. I often use both Mbytes and a regular AV/Security suite.Though sometimes it does not help either and you have to take another approach, but it is worth running just to see if it picks anything up that your traditional AV has missed.

You can disable real-time protection in MalwareBytes if it is interfering with your AV, it is generally pretty good, and you will be downgraded to the free version after 14 days anyway, which will disable real-time by default.

I usually leave it on folks PCs because it is a very good last line of defence when dealing with infections already on the PC that have gotten around the main AV app, and it also works in Safe Mode which is a real bonus.

I would not recommend leaving it as your only AV engine nor as a replacement for a traditional type of AV engine, it is best used in tandem as an on demand scanner.

Many AV in their default are fine, but sometimes to get the best they require hardening, but of course this is a bit tricky when you do not know which options to tweak, so most folks do not bother with this.

Let us know if you get more issues.

Help! I downloaded it, quarantined the suspect files, and now I can't log into Microsoft account and can't access any of my files.
Reply
NeBro Premium
Elizabeth, you can go to the quarantine and release them, but try a restart if not done so already.

It sounds like you have a hidden intrusion going on, some virus trick the AV by masquerading as OS files and hiding and when they get found, they can cause issues.

For example, a classic one on Win 7 was to masquerade as Windows System Files and also hide in the system restore files, and stop you from using system restore.

What message do you get when logging into MS account/PC? And what message do you get when trying to access your files?

Sometimes for reasons, we won't go into here, after a scan, and on Win 10 and MS accounts you have to change your password, also try a restart if not already done so as some of the files could have been locked. If you cannot login into your PC with your MS account, your files will not generally be accessible to any other login unless specifically allowed, so that's why you cannot currently get to them.

Also, go into MalwareBytes and disable the real-time scanning, go into the app, navigate to 'Protection' and disable the top 4 entries in the Real Time protection.

Also check here https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/193593-cant-sign-into-my-windows-account-after-scan/

For advanced use https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-security/cant-login-my-microsoft-account-after-malware/9c46d7c2-11db-4ad6-9dcd-426a9d451fb3

DO NOT remove Malwarebytes or remove anything from quarantine at this point.

Send me a screenshot of your quarantine list if you can, in PM and can you confirm that your network is connected, aka, you are on your machine now and not working from another machine

Regards

Neil

It's probably a fake or spam pop up message. Do not respond to it, which is what you did, and you should be fine.

Clicking on the "x" to close it can actually plant the virus but it seems that you have closed down your computer in time. You can use an ad or pop up blocker and that would prevent those from showing up on your screen. ~Jude

Does it cost money to become a part of an affiliate program? I am hoping that it does not. I am watching the video on affiliate programs, but I am not seeing anything about money.

Also, does anyone know how to build a website that will have a translate feature in it? For one of my websites, I am choosing Chinese audience.

Can you have more than one niche in your website? Is it better to focus on a specific niche, or have a general niche with a lot of sub-categories?

It definitely should NOT cost you money to join as an affiliate. If it does, you should beware!

The other thing is that you should focus on one niche on your website so as not to confuse people. You can always build another website. Keep your site very niche specific.

As for the translate feature, I have no clue. :)

Hi Steven,
I faced a similar dilemma. I had two ideas in my head. One was relating to hearing loss and the other was internet marketing. I thought the internet marketing would be the best for generating sales (promoting WA) but I opted to go with my real passion first and built my website around hearing loss.
I spent 5 months building this and went through the training. Once I had a solid foundation with this website I began to build the Wealthy Affiliate promoting one.
The hearing loss website was the first to generate sales for me and continues to do so on a regular basis.
The wealthy affiliate site has just begun to bear fruit with a few referrals and sales.
The point I am making is that you don't know what niche will bear fruit first or the most. No niche is a sure thing on its own.
It is the time and effort we put into a particular niche that will bear fruit. No matter how promising a niche may sound, you have to be passionate about it and make your website an authority within it.
Sometimes the niche we think has the least potential can actually be the most profitable.
My advice is to go with the one you are most passionate about, the one you know you can be an authority in. Do that exclusively for a period of time until you have built a solid base.
Then you can look to either combine the two niche's within one website or you can begin to build a second site.
Good luck in whatever way you decide to go.

Hi I have 2 different types of niches I want to work with. One is travel related (guide to Italian Lakes) and the other is more products based (cycling accessories). Whilst I am more "interested" in the travel site, am I better to go for the product site to generate more sales? (I am quite interested in that too). Thanks...

Go with one niche, after you can try to make them related or you can start another website
Reply
Sure, but which one is more likely to succeed - products or travel info? I'm suspecting that products is more of a sure-fire winner? Thanks again...

How about doing travel as your main site, then do a sub-section on travelling by cycle, and try to sell products there? Just a suggestion

Hi Steve- I'm also facing the same dilemna of having 2 niches- one is weight loss for women and the other is plus size shoes for ladies. I suppose it does not matter really which one you start with as you have the choice to do more than one website. Try starting with the one you are more passionate about as you will have more to say about that and once you gain more experience and confidence in the business, then go for the next one. That is what I intend to do. All the best!!.

There are affiliate programs for everything so making an income will not be an issue either way because travel is a popular niche as well.

I would go for what you are more interested in first and then invest time into your alternative.

Hi I fear that I have made a mistake already. After creating my site "thebestplaceonearth.etc" I have now changed the title of my website to "Travel to Italian Lakes", following keyword research. All the keywords in my list (79 so far that meet the criteria) are relevant to Travel to Italian Lakes. I wish to stick with Italian Lakes as my niche. Should I delete the website and start a new one with teh words "traveltoitalianlakes" in it? And a secondary question, should I specialize further eg "Travel to Lake Garda" because there seems to be enough keywords to support that smaller niche? I recognise that a smaller niche is preferable but the traffic is obviously lower, so maybe I should stick to the wider area of "Travel to Italian Lakes" and battle it out in a larger field. Sorry for the long question - thanks in advance...
Reply
onebluemoon Premium
DON'T delete your site! Just to emphasize, the tile of your website doesn't matter, it will not affect the ranking. Keywords are important in the posts you create, so make sure to include them every time you write a new post.
Reply
Thanks onebluemoon, much appreciated. Just to confirm though - the title is correct, but the actual website address is now completely different to the keywords. My worry is that difference will decrease the performance, is that correct?
Reply

Nope the website address doesnt really matter. Just look at apple.com, they are selling phones and mac.

You make an excellent point...I have two domains I using my name, and either can be used for any niche product, right? I like creating just for the product, it works naturally....barnabasonline.com can be anything I want, just the domain name for any sort of wordpress articles or blogging...or dedirected to the particular product or opportunity I am promoting.
Reply
Thanks motorcityguy. OK cool so 'bestplaceonearth' can be expanded to other areas besides Italian Lakes, right? I was just concerned that the website having dfferent words to the keywords search would lessen the chance of getting good SEO

Just remember you are going to want to expand your site further in the future and if you limit yourself to much you will not be able to broaden your niche.

Can I put links to Amazon products on my own site? I checked out their affiliate program and don't want them to make me a site. But what I read seemed like I had to choose, let them make me a site for free or pay a small amount to have links on my own site & profit when someone buys through my links.
Reply
Gordon-D Premium
First of all you have to apply to Amazon Associates for an account. Once you have been accepted you can then place links from Amazon onto your site and get paid when someone makes a purchase through your link. You do not have to pay any amount to have links on your site, but you will not get any commissions from any links from Amazon unless you have an Affiliate ID.
Reply
KeliT Premium
This is directly from Amazon.com Associates Page. After reading all of this, how do you place a link, tell anyone where it's going and still get paid? If you don't have an Amazon site, they are making it very hard to make money. You may want to look at their Updated Policies. They were just updated at the beginning of the month.

2. Disqualified Purchases

Notwithstanding the foregoing, Qualifying Purchases are disqualified whenever they occur in connection with a violation of this Associates Program Fee Statement or any other terms, conditions, specifications, statements, and policies that we may issue from time to time that apply to the Associates Program, including the most up-to-date version of the Associates Operating Agreement (collectively, the “Program Documents”). For example, no Program Fees are payable for a purchase that is not correctly tracked or reported because the links from your Site to the Amazon Site are not properly formatted, or for a purchase through a Special Link that violates the terms of the Program Documents.

Additionally, the following purchases that would otherwise be Qualified Purchases are disqualified and excluded from the Associates Program:

(a) any Product purchased after termination of your Associates Operating Agreement,

(b) any Product order that is canceled or returned,

(c) any Product purchased by a customer who is referred to an Amazon Site through any advertisement that you purchased through participation in bidding or auctions on keywords, search terms, or other identifiers that include the word “amazon”, or “kindle”, or any other trademark of Amazon or its affiliates (see a non-exhaustive list of our trademarks here, Prohibited Paid Search Placement”),

(d) any Product purchased by a customer who is referred to an Amazon Site by a link that is generated or displayed on a search engine (including Google, Yahoo, Bing, or any other search portal, sponsored advertising service, or other search or referral service, or any site that participates in such search engine’s network),

(e) any Product purchased by a customer who is referred to an Amazon Site by a link that sends users indirectly to the Amazon Site via an intermediate site, without requiring the customer to click on a link or take some other affirmative action on that intermediate site (a “Redirecting Link”),

(f) any Product subject to a Bounty Event (as defined in Section 4(a) of this Fee Statement, with the corresponding related Special Program Fee) or purchased in a subscription (other than the initial purchase of the subscribed Product), and

(g) any Product purchased by a customer, where such customer does not comply with the terms and conditions applicable to the Amazon Site.

I am working on this but ran into an issue. I have the Laveo Theme. Although I followed all of the lessons and updated the SEO title, the title name will not change from saying Laveo. I went back to watch the lessons again, It still says Laveo. Then when I tried to change themes to move away from this one as I could not figure it out, then my categories disappeared even though I still see them in the dashboard and activated them. help!

are you saying that you can't get your website's title to appear at the top of your page? Within your theme's customizer one of the first things to edit is the title and tag line.

And if you created a menu in the old theme with pages or categories, and then you switch themes, you'd have to create a menu again in the new theme so that they show up.

I'm confused. I purchased my domain name and now see two sites when I click on SiteRubix. One site has my domain name and dot com and the other has my domain name and siterubix.com. Which one do I work on? I've picked out a WordPress theme. When do I install this to my dot com site? And I keep seeing the message "Upgrade to Pro Version" in red when I open the dashboard. Do I ignore this?

Hi Rosa. One thing that will help is if you go into your site manager and click on the "move" button in your siterubix site. Move it to your domain. Not sure about the upgrade to pro version though. Maybe it has to do with your theme though.

You'll transfer most of the information from your siterubix account to your own domain. You'll still have to put some info back in though. I'm not far ahead of you in the training and recently did what you're doing.

Kyle,
I am thoroughly intrigued with these awesome informational videos so far. I have tried several times to "make it" onlline, but it hasn't worked.

So, as I think about promoting products, and Amazon, I have a question.

My professional niche is academic editing, business editing, writing, and of course teaching English and creating lessons that work.

So, do I go in that direction, or do I try to promote other products that simply interest me?

The problem with my field is that everything I do takes such a long time on my part. Editing academic writing takes time, and effort. So what niche can I find that maybe allows for some passive income?

Also, is it okay to create several totally different websites? One for my academic services, one for tech products that I love?

Thanks!

Elizabeth

It should show up right away, right?? At this point, can I change the theme? Or will that be building a new website?? Help!!

You said these are drafts? If so you need to publish them for them to show up. Also, being that these are pages and not posts they won't show up on your home page like posts do. They'll show up on your menu once you put them there. Don't worry, Kyle covers all this. Just stick with the training and you'll get there :)

Phylis, you have not done anything wrong or made a mistake, so do not worry about that, you do not need a new theme or website, you can change your theme if you like but this is not the issue.

You have just not reached the lesson where you deal with menus and locations yet, as Eric says, Kyle covers everything you need and some of it comes in later lessons.

For now.

Make sure you have 3 things going on.

1 - your pages are published and not still in draft mode http://easywpguide.com/wordpress-manual/saving-and-publishing-content/

2 and 3 You need to have a menu setup and added to the 'Manage locations' http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-add-navigation-menu-in-wordpress-beginners-guide/ because some themes have multiple menu points so WP needs to be told which goes where for it to appear in the appropriate place.

Check out the tutorial by Labman And Kyle does a quick walkthrough in this lesson If this is not what you are looking for or does not fix your issue then pls post back.

Best wishes

Neil

Is there a way for you to know what are the kind of things people are searching for in regards to a niche so you can narrow it down or i don't actually need to think too hard? Haha

Lesson #2 and already I'm becoming discouraged because phrases are being repeated. People repeat the same phrases over and over, when they are trying to convince you of something. Wealthy Affiliate is starting to feel more like a pyramid scheme. I'm spending more time reading about what I "will be doing" and 'what can be done' versus actually learning anything of value or doing anything productive.

Give it a chance --this is not a pyramid scheme -- not even close. Just stick with the lessons and it will all begin to clear up for you. There is a method to the training and just try to go with it for a bit to see how it all shapes up --

If not where do I do to get my own domain?I know its probably been stated somewhere but what do others advise please ? Does it cost me more for my own domain? I'm guessing so but I dont want to spend anymore money right now .

Also if Im working away and go out of whatever Im doing is there a quick way to get back to where I was ? I always go back to the green button which is tedious, there must be another way?

Lastly, because im too lazy to go back to the first video introduction...if I want to leave a message/join the discussion at any time about anything is it via here ie. after a lesson or in the "live chat" or in the "ask a question" bubble??

Thanks!

Hi, Ros and congrats on the premium. If you want to look more professional you should get your own domain. You can do that here or at my fav GoDaddy. ( a little cheaper at GD) With that said you can transfer later from the free domain. Usually to the right of your screen when you are here you will see where you left off in your training. What is your niche going to be or do you know yet? Just asking as you want your domain name to reflect that if you can. At least in some small way. Hope this helps and if I missed anything someone will pick it up and help you further.

How to buy a domain. Check this out on how to buy a domain. I know we don't want to spent more money but it's a very small fee. I think it's under $20 a year. You can do it later. But, here is a lesson from Kyle about it. When I leave a lesson I click on the green again and it usually brings me back to where I left off. Other wise I go to the right where it shows a short list of the lesson. At the bottom of the list you can click the Show 3 more. That extends the list if where you were is there.
Asking a question about the lesson you're on can be done at the end of the lesson. Or you can go to the live chat. Ask again bubble looks like it would work as well. I haven't used it but since it's there why not?
Hey, I think you are terrific for taking this journey and I hope to see you often in my trails! Keep sharing your progress and reach for the SKY!!!!

They probably show you as you do the lessons to get the domain. For one yr domains they are 10 here and always 10. .I got mine from godaddy for about 10 but will go up. Yeah start with your Webname.siterubix and that can be changed

The lessons should pick up where you finished. Always make sure to do the tasks and check them off and then you click next to go onto next lesson. Like I said it should take you to the lesson you are at.

Live chat is awesome. Anytime go in there and ask anything. People are so helpful.

The ask a question I think is live chat also. You can also create a post within Wealthy Affiliate about anything and people will comment on it etc. you will find your way around. What I stress though is don't skip the lessons or tasks as Kyle is helping you build your website and blog the right way. And each lesson builds on the next

Hope that helps!
Also if you need me straight away use messenger. I check into this portal a few times a day but if you want a response immediately then I see messenger first.

No, you don't have to Roy. The about Me page is about You and what it is that lead you to your niche or to WA or to both. Like telling a short story so your readers can relate to you as a person. You want to brand you first not your product. You want people to believe in what you are saying.

Yes very much so the training is very easy so you can have a structure up in like two days unless you have plenty of time to work on your first three pages.

Yes, you can when you reach that point, Kathleen. What is your niche? Most will want to see content on your site and a few visitors so it is best to do that first. After you have relevant info for your niche it is very quick. Like a one or two day approval.

But still, I have this hanging question in my head. Surely, it may be discussed in further tutorials or already been answered before.
My question is..

* Are we needing to have a contract with these Affiliate companies that we will be including in our websites? or are we just free to use their links?

* Will they be alerted if a sale is made for them by my website?

I am really new to this field and it will be very helpful to know how this goes about :)

Hi Cherie. You won't need a contract to actually work with the companies, but you will have to agree to abide by their principles (things like no spamming with the links). You'll have to apply for the program first. Amazon will approve you right away. Others may take a few days to give you an answer.
