OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also known as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, "On a free domain" or "On a domain I own". Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host your own FREE website as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domains).

As a Premium Plus+ member, you can build and host up to 50 websites (including websites on your own domains). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature.

So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can easily move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "Calorie Method" into the domain field. I am building a website to help people with calorie counting (and ultimately losing weight).

The first step is choosing the domain name, which is your niche name.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "caloriemethod".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: caloriemethod.siterubix.com

Title: Calorie Method

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below). There are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

The theme will be selected for you if you are Starter (GeneratePress), but if you are already Premium you will be able to chose from any of the themes.

After your choose your theme, head to the "Ready to build" section and simply click "Build My Website".

And presto, you are doing and you are now up and running with your website!

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

Hello guys I have a question In the fourth lesson, Kyle said that the site speed is available with the free subscription, but the extreme speed requires a premium subscription, but after I created my site, I found that the site speed is available with the premium subscription, has it been changed

It does require an upgrade, however for now that's not an issue.

You current speed will be fine. Even free websites are hosted on servers to make them fast, but premium membership does get an extra boost in speed which you can set as a premium member..

Whenever there is something I need to buy I will shop sometimes for hours looking for the lowest price. I can write about certain things I've found lowest prices on 4 example disposable vapes. I can share where to buy. I can write about the places to look for certain things like clothes. I could even take request like if someone doest have the time to search the internet I can do it for them. I can find anything at the absolute lowest price. I'm not really sure how to make this a niche but I know the places I send people to find whatever product can b affiliate links. Am I making sense at all?

I see what your saying. But keep in consideration a niche isn't a product its a group of people looking for stuff you got. They need info to either listen to how to go get it. Or leave and go find it themselves. Your wanting to build a relationship with your target group.whether thats1 to a trillion.

I know you'll get more help on this question There's a very talented group on people here this is all I can give. Hope it was helpful.

That would be a very hard way to earn affiliate marketing commission. Because people are usually looking for help about a specific product (product review) and there are already existing website that give you the best price for products. People look for niche and product related help.

The best way to make money from affiliate marketing is to choose a niche that is something you are passionate about besides finding the best price. For example I am into camping. So I could have a website on Essentials for beginning campers so they have a save and enjoyable camping experience.

Ideas to find a niche.
Do you have any hobbies? Sports? Problems you've solved? Problems you are looking to find solutions for? Products that are amazingly helpful? Something you talk a lot about? Something you wished you had learned earlier in life? Job skill? It is important you choose something you are passionate about. Something you enjoy researching and learning about. That way it will always be interested and enjoy it, and you'll have fun building it.

You will be writing posts for people to read on your website - who would be the audience you wish to write for and help? You will be writing both informational posts and product reviews. What kind of questions would people be asking about your niche that you can help them with as well? Your informational posts are important to grow your traffic. Resource for questions: answersocrates.com and google search "people also ask" section in search results page.

Firstly as a niche is not a product vs a subject, you ought to discuss an aspect of vaping to a qualified group of people who would be your target audience (that could be beginners or another group you have in mind), you would help people by giving them advice on an aspect, walk them through your journey and then promote products however relevant.

The more focused a niche website is starting out, the better chance it has to start having traction and traffic.

Please be aware you also need to create lots of content addressing issues related to your focused niche website.

Most important is to be passionate and genuinely interested in your niche

Hi, thank you for the videos. They were a good explanation of niche, but I still am not quite fully understanding. My question is how narrow should a niche be? Is acne skin care too broad ? Or is Vitamins and aging too broad? Is skin care for aging skin too broad? Or exercise equipment for seniors? Would love to get some ideas (critique) about those ideas.

I believe either one is a good niche. You'll want to keep in mind you'll be writing articles on it. I'm new, but as you move on in your lessons you'll be building up your site. Each to me has the potential for a buyer to purchase from you site.

Acne is good as long you understand your audience issues and can provide viable solutions to solve their issues.

Also a niche is not a product vs a subject, you would help people by giving them advice on an aspect, walk them through your journey and then promote products however relevant.

End of the day, You need aim for ONE focused niche with a specific group of people, I'd go with what's best resonates with me.

And so ONE niche, a website. Products and programs can be varied however all must be relevant to the niche.

Hi, I actually think these are some good Niches. You are on the right track. So for example For "Acne Skin Care" You may want to look at the different types of Skin and the products that would help.

I read about the idea of using video games as a niche. This would be something I'd love to do, as I love video games and would love to write reviews and articles on them. But is it a good market to go down, now that games are mainly purchased digitally, ie. no one's buying physical game copies online anymore?

Video gaming is a great niche however broad, it needs be niched down to a genre perhaps with a specific target audience such as beginners or another group of people you have in mind.

Don't be discouraged by other websites especially if you passionate about your focused niche, we put our own spin and pulse so that our websites are unique to us.

Nothing to stop you from also promoting digital merch. Some folks would still seek physical copies.

You could sign up to a digital gamily affiliate program.
To get a better feel for digital gaming do a Google search and look at the auto populated keywords the and "People also ask" section. See what you think.

It is important to choose a targeted audience and how you wish to help them. Decide what kind of help they would need.

You will be writing content and helping people with your niche idea so the more you know about it already the easier it is. And if you know of its problems and know how to solve them that is even better. Otherwise you can do research online.

The question is WHO would be your target audience rather than what product you would be selling.

A niche should be for a targeted group of people How to narrow a niche down How To Expand Your niche later

Thank you for this! What I'm thinking of is the products that I would be marketing or what I'd be promoting for a target audience to purchase. I use playstation, and most people who purchase playstation games search the digital store on the playstation, not on google or a web browser. So the usefulness of having a gaming website might not be as good as it seems. Just curious if you agree, or if I'm missing something here

I am not into this niche and do not do gamily. but it does seem that it could be challenging. Are you interested in equipment and supplies needed. Would it excite you to help people in this way. Maybe those just beginning and wonder what to buy.

You can check if a particular brand has an affiliate program by doing a google search.

I have my menu set up but my widget page is totally different than the one Kyle showed. Mine has HTML editing on it. I was able to remove the search bar and the categories widget though. Will we get more in-depth teaching on the widgets? Also, my homepage doesn't show my all-about-me post like Kyles does. It shows Add more posts and under that please publish more blog posts which is a link that takes you to some kind of blogging formatting. Is it because of my theme?

You may have set up your page to edit html vs visual, is this the case? You can change between html and visual controls in the block editor.

I would keep the search bar, because eventually you will have a lot of posts and a search bar becomes handy.

On the widgets you may click the navy plus icon to add something and the three dots to remove a block.

It could possibly a theme issue, however you can change your theme at any time,

You can also organize your posts under categories.

You will be learning more as you go along.

When you get to lesson 8 you will learn how to add a navigational menu. That is when you add your privacy policy page and about post to it.

The difference you see can also be affected by the theme you chose, But keep following th3te training and your site will take more shape.

I'm not sure if I set it up like that or if the theme did. I will try and go in and add the search bar back. Thank you for the tutorial. I will go check it out!
