OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also known as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host your own FREE website as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domains). As a Premium Plus+ member, you can build and host up to 50 websites (including websites on your own domains). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can easily move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.siterubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

Ok question. What if we don't want to write a blog? I just want to market items simply rather than create a blog. I had thought about blogging previously, but I don't feel that it is really for me. Are there other options to just create a website with a funnel and market the desired items? Please advise. Thank you so very much :)

Rich original helpful content is key to getting website traffic.
So if you are creating funnels, how will you approach that? They will need original rich content to get ranked.

The question to really ask is what is the purpose of your website? How are you going to help people? Helping people is answering questions regarding your niche, providing guides, and doing product reviews. Who do you want your audience to be?

You can use a funnel approach but make sure your visitors get real value from your site (that they learn something significant enough they want to return over and over. It takes time and content to build trust. Help first then get sales.

Have more questions, just ask.

Go to the top of the Dashboard and click on "Training" then go down to where it says "Training HQ" on the next screen you will see a search bar. Try "ecommerce" you'll find a lot of training resources here on just about anything to do with online business and marketing. Hope that helps.

According to Kyle, cofounder of WA, we must follow the 4 step process that is vital to any success online:

1. Choose your niche
2. Build your site and write content
3. Rank higher on search engines (Google, etc.) to drive traffic
4,. Monetize your site

Yes, there are other ways to make money online, but one that might bring 50% or more of the total income is affiliate marketing. If we don’t want to write posts, we wouldn’t be getting the second step done.

Most affiliate programmes will require you to have a website. Using only a landing page and funnel may mean using adverts, that target a particular audience. Hope this helps.

You can run your own ecom store however in every business we make we've got to think of marketing. How would your customers come to your store purchase the goods you are proposing to help them with their issues.

What medium are you going to use, what funnel / ads / campaigns would secure a good income selling wares from your store.

Technical stuff can be learned by installing perhaps a woocommerce plugin, integrate PayPal and do a funnel, build an email list once there's traffic market to the list and so on.

To have a funnel you've got provide value and an offer they cannot refuse to entice them to part with your business endeavor.

With a blog essentially you are writing more informational posts so that you do not sound so salesy to Google and if there’s a solution, a detailed analysis review post for your visitors to let them make an informed decision whether to go click your links and go purchase the focused item you proposed to solve their issue.

Instead of joining affiliate programs, you redirect your visitors to your online store. You can have the blog within your store. A visitor lands on you post, like what they see can make an informed decision they click link provided they visit your store, they purchase the focused offer.

Whatever you do , you've got come up with high impact content to tell your visitor you have what they need and you can help them, whether it is a blog, funnel, facebook, or any social media ad / campaigns, you've find the right copy that would make the cut.

Can anyone help me with a number of issues.
Firstly my title for Privacy Policy is appearing on the main picture on the main page.. even when i set up a separate menu for it.. the title still appears on the picture. but I want some catch phrase to appear on the picture.
I choose the privacy policy template. so why is the title appearing on the picture of the theme page

I am also getting 3 Critical issues message on the SEO
mostly about Files (Java and CSS files not being minified )

Anyone there with some experience of this...
My website is online shop / e commerce so its not exactly the same as in the tutorial video.

AbieAJ Premium Plus

That may be theme limitations, however uncertain without a screen shot? privacy policy is a page that usually goes in a menu.

Java and CSS files being minified actually helps with your sites load speed.

Hi A J
Here is a picture of the screen on my laptop.
Its even more confusing now that i looked at the website on my phone as it appears as Hello World.. Like I had not posted the privacy policy or about me posts.

Thanks for replying

That's a theme thing you can try Appearance > Customize see if you can tweak , if not you may want to change your theme .

If you do, you will not lose any contents vs some CSS styles and possibly social media icons a bit of tweaking and you are done.

We always recommend leaving a back up theme, you can do with the Twenty TwentyOne.

I am a bit confused about niche selection process. Is it ok to select a broader niche at the beginning like Keto Diet under nutrition or I should select a more narrow sub niche under it to avoid too much competition.

Will it take longer to get success with a broader niche?
AbieAJ Premium Plus

No you are needing a focused one subcategory niche starting out. And yes it will take longer if broad niche to get traction, traffic and ultimately authority.

A niche subject is something you are passionate and genuinely interested in could be a hobby or an interest, and know so well you can write plenty original content about.

ONE niche, a website. Products and programs can be varied however all must be relevant to the niche.

You may consult with https://answersocrates.com/ for further research into finding a subcategory starting out. You can search what real people are asking as in Questions, Prepositions, Comparisons, in the past, letters and query. It is also great if someone wants to write a thorough research based article.

Few examples
How keto diet affects cholesterol
Can keto diet cause headaches, high blood pressure
Keto diet for weight loss or vegans for beginners

When deciding on a niche try narrow it down to a more specific niche, you can ask yourself the following question:

So I want to help people with ____________________ ?

Fill in the blank and you are going to get closer to a specific audience. Essentially you are writing more informational posts so that you do not sound so salesy to Google and if there’s a solution, a detailed analysis review post for your visitors to let them make an informed decision whether to go click your links and go purchase the focused item you proposed to solve their issue.

Meanwhile I'd ask as many questions as I want to get clarifications,

Welcome to WA and our community.

Actually, as a starter, you want as narrow a niche as you can get it to avoid competition, then you can build it out later on after you start gaining traction and traffic.
IsaacArthur Premium
That means for starters its advisable to with a small niche

Hello everyone,
I've run into some sort of glitch on the Site content Editor. The thing is just stuck and the editor won't load as it should. The "loading editor" remains where I should be editing the site pages and I can't make any progress on my website as a result.
Please, what should I do?
AbieAJ Premium Plus

I clear browser cache refresh and try again. Or try in a different browser.

Thanks for the tip. Changing the browser worked.

Hi again.

I have another question. I just registered domain. Once payment was approved a notice said it takes up to 24 hours to propagate through the system.

M question is twofold.
Will I get a notification when it has done so?
Should I wait until such notification to continue to build a webpage?

Thanks in advance
AbieAJ Premium Plus

If me I would check at a later time, usually takes even shorter than 24 hours.

Kindly let us know when needing help or have further questions.
GeoffreyC1 Premium
It usually only takes a few minutes and then it will appear under your websites.

Thanks. :)
