OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also known as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host your own FREE website as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domains). As a Premium Plus+ member, you can build and host up to 50 websites (including websites on your own domains). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can easily move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.siterubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

I understand the initial portion of AM. But when you say develop a niche and website, you are using the adds the company you are marketing for correct? And you are driving them to your webpage. Then your are making a landing page for those who click on your add? When does the info from the customer purchasing come to your Webpage? Does the monthly dues for WA include a CRM? But I don't understand if you develop a niche for something and you are selling literally 100 different items from 100 different stores, you won't be making a different website for each product. I am missing that link there. Does that make sense? Sorry if it is confusing. However, I am confused about that portion. :)

You choose a focus niche to narrow down your audience scope and related products.

For example. I like camping and want to help campers buy the right equipment to make their camping experience more pleasant and safe. (So I have a niche with a defined audience which also helps me to narrow my selection of niche products.

The example is a very broad topic with a lot of competition so to eliminate some competition in the beginning so the website has a chance to grow, the focus needs to be a smaller scope. For example essential camping equipment for beginners. Once the website is established and has a good volume, its scope can be expanded.

I sign up for camping affiliate programs.
Browser search camping + affiliate programs.

By signing up for an affiliate program I receive a special link code and the right to find products in that affiliate program that relate to my niche. I copy the product code with my link into my website. Visitors to my site will click on that product link (most of the time it includes a picture of the product. When they click on my link they are taken to the affiliate programs product page. When they buy on the programs product page, I get credit for the sale because the customer was directed from my site to the product they bought. I do not handle the product or the billing. The affiliate program does that

Since you are a Paid Premium Plus member you have access to many great Affiliate marketing training series. I recommend you complete the training OEC (Online Entrepreneur Certification) and the videos to get a greater understanding. Understanding comes by training and doing. Over time things will fall into place for you.

You can also use the menu bar search (magnifying glass) to find many blog on it.

I am just going to say this; in Jaaxy; you try to get excellent stats; then for your subject or Niche; when it shows up on Google; and other Search Engines; it will be near the top. And for those searching for what you are advertising; Potential Customers will click on it.

Hope this helps and encourages?

I would make sure of your passion. I see you have said it is travel. I am attaching a blog that will help you to check your passion.

How To Find Your Passion If have no niche ideas here are some things to think about When you have confirmed your niche, it is important to define your target audience for your website. Travel is too broad.

Kyles helps us narrow a niche by completing the following statement.

.'i want to help ____(group) with ______(problem)'

Why should you narrow your niche when first starting?
The key to getting started fast is to narrow your niche down to a specific topic. This way, you will eliminate a lot of competition and get results much faster.
Niche examples starting with a narrow scope
Camping essentials for beginners as a niche subject Computer essentials for beginners. Strength training for women over 40. I help women over 50 lose weight with yoga, help new Moms find the most important baby gear to cope with their first year as a parent

Once your website is established and has good traffic volume you can expand your niche scope.

How To Expand Your niche later

I am just going to say; it will take more work, money and time. But, you can have more than one Niche; and you can have more than one .com If you want? Ask how many you can have? I am not sure. But, I know you can have more than one.

Hope this helps and encourages?
I have a keen interest in the occult and am considering a niche in that genre. I know it is a very wide field and would like to narrow it down to tarot cards. I would like to know if that could be a viable niche and what you think of it's possibilities.

I am not very familiar with your proposed niche however as you say it may broad you may want to narrow it down to a subcategory starting out, otherwise you will find it very hard to get noticed by the search engines and to compete with big authority sites. Target audience is important too, who would you be writing to, once you are able to identify them, you are closer to finding a focused niche.

Once a site starts gaining traction, traffic and authority you can then scale to cover another subcategory.

See example blog post below A niche subject is something you are passionate and genuinely interested in could be a hobby or an interest, and know so well you can write plenty original content about.

ONE niche, a website. Products and programs can be varied however all must be relevant to the niche.

You may consult with https://answersocrates.com/ for further research into finding a subcategory starting out. You can search what real people are asking as in Questions, Prepositions, Comparisons, in the past, letters and query. It is also great if someone wants to write a thorough research based article.

When deciding on a niche try narrow it down to a more specific niche, you can ask yourself the following question:

So I want to help people with ____________________ ?

Fill in the blank and you are going to get closer to a specific audience. Essentially you are writing more informational posts so that you do not sound so salesy to Google and if there’s a solution, a detailed analysis review post for your visitors to let them make an informed decision whether to go click your links and go purchase the focused item you proposed to solve their issue.

You can do a google search
Your niche + affiliate programs
Your niche + affiliate programs + location
and see what results you get

Meanwhile I'd ask as many questions as I want to get clarifications,

Welcome to WA and our community.

You can do a few things.
1) Type your niche word(s) in a browser Note if there are Ads. Ads mean they are being placed because there is money to make from them on this niche.
2) Do other word auto populate when you type your niche into a browser search
3) trends.google.com will give you an idea of interest over time.
4) ahrefs.com/keyword-generator will give you ides of related keywords and volume
5) WA's Jaaxy will talk give you ideas for keywords but as a free member you are limited to 30 free searches. .
6) Find out if people ask questions about it. http://soolve.com
7) As Abie has indicated find out iif there are affiliate programs you can join (although it is too soon to join yet.) browser search your niche word + affiliate program.

I am just going to say; if you want to stick to your Original Subject? That should be okay. You would have a bigger audience. More Links to choose from. And you would have more material for posts.

HI, I as I am going through the training, I am wondering; Can I cancel any time after buying the membership?
I mean, if I am not earning enough to pay for the membership.
Do you charge a percentage of what ever amount I earn?
and lastly. I have not hear or seen anything related to taxes (how to report earnings, how often, etc.).
AbieAJ Premium Plus

Yes you may. No we do not, your affiliations are third parties that has nothing to do with WA. Affiliate Marketing commission payouts are subject to taxes, you need seek professional advice and again with your affiliations.
jghwebbrand Premium
1) Canceling at anytime - yes you can -click on your profile image -> account settings -> subscriptions -> scroll to bottom see "cancel". If you have a .com website you will need to find another host. for it.
2) If you earn from the WA affiliate program here's and idea of what you can make. https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/affiliates/
When joining other affiliate program you will earn based on their commission schedule. WA does not take anything from that.
3) When you sign up with an affiliate program you will be asked to provide tax info so the affiliate program can associate your earning with your tax id. WA is a global community so you can check the internet for tax info. Many affiliate programs consider you a consultant when it comes to taxes. You are not an employee so you can search accordingly.
