OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also known as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host your own FREE website as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domains). As a Premium Plus+ member, you can build and host up to 50 websites (including websites on your own domains). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can easily move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.siterubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

I'm so overwhelmed about WordPress. I never had a pleasant experience with it.
In these trainings, are they going to assist me on how to make my website more pleasing to the eye? Or it's something I'm going to figure out on my own? Right now my website is just plan boring white.

It will teach you how to build your website. You have to customize your theme on your own.

As you go along you will get a better feel for design. But a lot of it is done using images. Here's one of Jays, the WA webinar instructors websites. footballsnackhelmets.com.

Of course a websites design is initially noticed, but the part that is remembered and most important is the content. People want help solving problems and they are looking for websites that will give them answers. People will return to your site over and over because of the content.

So these customisations tutorial for a beautifully designed website are available even if I'm on a starter package? Like all the editing tools are provided for me or these limitations?
Because if I can't I'll cry, WordPress it drains me and leave my brains scrambled 😭😢

Thank you that's comforting.

The purpose of the starter training is to introduce you to the basics. While you are learning the basics it is best to focus on what the lessons are teaching you. As a starter your website uses the GeneratePress for a very specific reason. That is so you focus on the concepts you are learning. Design is not the most important thing to learn right now if you want success as an online website business owner.

As a starter, you're given Generate Press which is very easy to use, lightweight and very customizable. I don't believe you can choose any others until you upgrade to premium. See what you can do with GP by going into back office, click on appearances then to themes. Play around with it.

I just finished lesson 4 and i have one question (sorry if it's stupid). If I make free domain (for example carsroof, siterubix, com) and after one month i want to buy that domain (to be carsroof, com), my question is: is there a possibility that domain is busy? Or it's automatically busy and reserved for me, because i took free version-carsroof,siterubix,com.

I wouldn't like that i make good website on free domain and after that i can't take domain which i already have in my free URL, because somebody else took that domain before me.

I hope that somebody understood what i wanted to say :)

Thansk in advance to all!

Hi I'd recommend purchasing your wanting dot com domain, if available and as when you are ready. Biggest advantage between a siterubix subdomain vs dot com, is that you own the latter and can do whatever you want with it vs siterubix subdomains remains the property of WA.

You can use the move feature found within your site manager to move you siterubix subdomain to your dot com, when you are ready. It is a simple process.

You would need wait up to 30 days (Kyle's recommendation) for 301 redirects to be completed and for the search engines. After of which you may delete the subdomain however you could keep it for longer if hosting space is not an issue

You can check Kyles training tutorial below What really matters is your destination URL.

Hi - there is no guarantee that the name you choose for your SiteRubix will be available as a .com. However, it doesn't actually matter. The names don't have to be the same. The content will still transfer over with no problem.

So, you could build a website called cat.siterubix.com and still be able to transfer it over to dog.com.

You will only be able to get it when you pay for it. So there is no guarantee that it will be available.

Hi folks, I'm aware of the discount available if we upgrade within the appropriate time, however if I declined that offer but in a month or so I decided to upgrade, will the cost of $50 be the total upgrade cost, or are there further charges like subsriptions per month for example. It seems like 10 (or several websites) to run is going to need a 27hour per day time-slot! I was thinking about doing this part-time. :-)

Hi, first month is $19 then $49 monthly afterwards collected automatically until you cancel. Irrelevant when you decide upgrade.

It is always best to focus on the niche one website to start to set up properly however as time progress and you become familiar you may expand. It can take lots of time and effort setting up the one site.

Once the discount window passes the cost for Paid Premium membership is $49 per month (every month) or $495 for one year. The way to look at hosting for 10 websites, you start out with only one niche website. However, after one website is doing well with traffic volume, many members decide to build a second website. Over time it is easy to need hosting for 10 websites.

For starter I would test drive platform, you have seven days of full premium access from day signing up I would assess if platform suits my business needs and objectives. Please ask as many questions to get clarifications. You'd get the one siterubix subdomain to start adding content provided figured out a niche something you are passionate about and genuinely interested in as you'd be expected to write lots of content.

As an architect-interior designer, were looking at Home accessories and finishes, indoor recreation, home automation & security, AV solutions, Home gym, Techie Gadgets.

As a musician, im looking at musical instruments, music accessories and apps and audio equipment.

We have several interest that we want to pursue, Is it okay to have so many niches to start with or is it better to focus on one or two?

It is best to start just with one, you can keep the other one for later.

Hi - you should only have one niche on a website, otherwise, Google won't see you as an authority on your subject. And your visitors won't understand what your website is about.

If I visit your site to read about home security, I don't want to see articles about musical instruments.
