OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also known as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host your own FREE website as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domains). As a Premium Plus+ member, you can build and host up to 50 websites (including websites on your own domains). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can easily move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.siterubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

I am a bit confused about niche selection process. Is it ok to select a broader niche at the beginning like Keto Diet under nutrition or I should select a more narrow sub niche under it to avoid too much competition.

Will it take longer to get success with a broader niche?
AbieAJ Premium Plus

No you are needing a focused one subcategory niche starting out. And yes it will take longer if broad niche to get traction, traffic and ultimately authority.

A niche subject is something you are passionate and genuinely interested in could be a hobby or an interest, and know so well you can write plenty original content about.

ONE niche, a website. Products and programs can be varied however all must be relevant to the niche.

You may consult with https://answersocrates.com/ for further research into finding a subcategory starting out. You can search what real people are asking as in Questions, Prepositions, Comparisons, in the past, letters and query. It is also great if someone wants to write a thorough research based article.

Few examples
How keto diet affects cholesterol
Can keto diet cause headaches, high blood pressure
Keto diet for weight loss or vegans for beginners

When deciding on a niche try narrow it down to a more specific niche, you can ask yourself the following question:

So I want to help people with ____________________ ?

Fill in the blank and you are going to get closer to a specific audience. Essentially you are writing more informational posts so that you do not sound so salesy to Google and if there’s a solution, a detailed analysis review post for your visitors to let them make an informed decision whether to go click your links and go purchase the focused item you proposed to solve their issue.

Meanwhile I'd ask as many questions as I want to get clarifications,

Welcome to WA and our community.

Actually, as a starter, you want as narrow a niche as you can get it to avoid competition, then you can build it out later on after you start gaining traction and traffic.
IsaacArthur Premium
That means for starters its advisable to with a small niche

Hello everyone,
I've run into some sort of glitch on the Site content Editor. The thing is just stuck and the editor won't load as it should. The "loading editor" remains where I should be editing the site pages and I can't make any progress on my website as a result.
Please, what should I do?
AbieAJ Premium Plus

I clear browser cache refresh and try again. Or try in a different browser.

Thanks for the tip. Changing the browser worked.

So very welcome.

Hi again.

I have another question. I just registered domain. Once payment was approved a notice said it takes up to 24 hours to propagate through the system.

M question is twofold.
Will I get a notification when it has done so?
Should I wait until such notification to continue to build a webpage?

Thanks in advance
AbieAJ Premium Plus

If me I would check at a later time, usually takes even shorter than 24 hours.

Kindly let us know when needing help or have further questions.
GeoffreyC1 Premium
It usually only takes a few minutes and then it will appear under your websites.

Thanks. :)

Building a page isn't turning out to be the 30 second time frame as mentioned. Not that I thought it would, life is never that simple really.
I built a website 10 years ago with Wordpress and didn't care for it then, not sure I like it much better today.

Can anybody tell me this: When you go searching through the themes, are you leaving the WA site and going right to Wordpress? Or is it more of a virtual visit to WP?

Times has changed it is now easier than before.
Yes I need be logged in WordPress site and looking up Appearance>Themes and add new.
Please reach out if you need help or a hand.
Wishing you well, continued success and a terrific day.
AbieAJ Premium Plus

Things have now changed it is a lot easier with WA site builder, you need go to

Enter credentials and follow procedure.

To change themes, Appearance > Themes and Add new. Input keyword find what are you looking for, install and activate.

You need be logged in to your WordPress sites back office in order for you to do that.

It is also recommended that you have a back up theme at all time i.e. the Twenty TwentyOne.
jghwebbrand Premium
You stay on the WA website when you search for a theme using
appearance -> themes -> new themes.

The value of a website is in its content and the content must be original; therefore takes time, research and effort.

The real motivating factor for building a website is threefold. First and foremost a passion for the niche interest chosen, the 2) the desire to help people 3) Make some money. The factors need to be thought of in that order.

The way WP is setup these days you don't need to know any code. You just have to learn the elements and how you want to design them.

We wish you excitement with a niche and success will follow..

Thanks guys

I think maybe I was having a bad day/moment. Add to that a preconditioning in my head about WP.

I continue to press ahead, though it will be a bit slower than I had envisioned.

My motivating factors may not be in the order you suggest, though not entirely self serving, I hope. My first was to make money. This is something I have been investigating in various avenues for quite some time. My reason for making money is a little more in line with helping others, my family first (if reasonably successful) then others. As for a niche I like, I found something I am interested in and will proceed with it going forward as learning tool if nothing else. That is if successful keep it, if not after 6 mos or a yr take what I learn and try again.

H ave a great day.

Hello future wealthies..
The content I found so far in all the lessons is great, however I'd like to ask the following :
I just watched the video " keyword mastery ", and I noticed that the video was shot in 2017, so my question is :
Will the system, the tools and way we are going to learn this business, as efficient as it was 5 years ago, or do we risk to learn something a bit obsolete that needs a refresh ?

Thank you

The concepts and process has not changed.
webcash2us Premium
The process is still the same and still works very well. The training here is undergoing new updates as we write this post. Any training that is no longer relevant has already been removed and brand new training also continues getting added. It's only getting better with WA.

Thank you very much for your response web...

The theory is the same. You will use Jaaxy for keywords and it is up to date
