OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also known as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host your own FREE website as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domains). As a Premium Plus+ member, you can build and host up to 50 websites (including websites on your own domains). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can easily move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "Calorie Method" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "caloriemethod".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: caloriemethod.siterubix.com

Title: Calorie Method

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

The powerful hosting you have access you here is unparalleled in the Managed Wordpress hosting industry. We truly specialize here in providing a secure, robust and FAST platform for you to run your website.

We know that your website IS your business, and it is important that you have the most advanced technology to keep your business operating at 100% at all times of the day.

The following are just some of the powerful features included within the SiteRubix platform here at WA.

  • SiteManager (Starter, Premium & Premium Plus+)
  • SiteContent (Starter, Premium & Premium Plus+)
  • SiteBuilder (Starter, Premium & Premium Plus+)

As we move forward within the training we are going to be building out your website content, and working to get indexed and ranked in Google, Bing & Yahoo (and do so for free).

As I follow the training video I find that I'm confused. I know of no other means of clearing up confusion but to re watch the video again.

Is that the most productive way or should I complete the whole certification program first and then if I'm confused repeat the whole of the certification process?

When you first start it may sound confusing and it is a good idea to watch the initial videos more than once. We did. Something takes time to understand.

Do you do shopping on the internet. If yes, then think of the process you go through. For example if I wanted to buy the best athletic shoes, I would search the internet for some shoe reviews. Those reviews found in websites are usually written by affiliate marketers. Affiliate marketers seek to help people in need of information. You are being taught what you can do to become one of those affiliate marketers for a niche you are very passionate about, know something about and can help people with. The training will make sense as time goes on. Give it time.

Here's a summary of the process.
Success online is broken down into 4 basic steps. How to Create an Online Business - The 4 Steps It looks like this: Step 1: Choose your niche
Step 2: Build your website/content
Step 3: Get rankings in search engines (leads to traffic)
Step 4: Monetize your traffic (the make money part, through affiliate programs signing up for and adding affiliate links ete)

This applies in absolutely every niche and as you work through the training here at WA, you are going to be walked through this exact process. This is fundamental for ANY success online.

What makes the training great is that it tells and show you how to do it.

Relax, you will learn this too. It's just a natter of time.

WA is a very friendly, helpful and active community. We like to help new comers achieve success. The Online Entrepreneur Training is a self-managed program. You can do it at your pace. When you have questions, you can ask them in the comments section after each lesson.

We wish you well.

Hi

I would run at own pace, part studying (watching) and part doing. You can replay the videos as many times as you want.

Ticking checklists bottom of lessons, tasks asked of you to complete in order to set up properly and guide you through the process.

Discussing your confusion and challenges with the community help a lot.

Where are you in the training? Have you figured out your niche yet?

Would be nice to hear how you are getting along. Much obliged and best wishes.

Hi

You could remain a starter indefinitely and your siterubix subdomain remains valid for six months from day signing up to the platform, giving you time to build content.

However the learning curve would be steeper as communications with the platform ceases up in 7 days from time signing up, you will not have access to coaching and sound advice.

It can take 3 - 6 months to see any income. This is a long term commitment and takes months of consistent work WA is a learning platform to teach you how to build a progressive successful website for affiliate marketing.

You have access to Level One of OEC And level One of the Affiliate Bootcamp How to make money by Kyle You also have access to Getting Started, the Affiliate Program and the Affiliate Platform classrooms, which can be accessed via link below:

Hi I don't want to be a pest and sound completely daft but after looking over the list of possible niches I did find one that I am passionate about but have never found anything that really worked to reverse it at least not for me and that is hair loss. Am I not supposed to find something that is positive that does work. In other words be promoting something that does do what it says it does.

Hi

You need aim for ONE focused niche with a specific group of people, I'd go with what's best resonates with me.

The recommendation is to focus on ONE site starting out as it takes lots of effort and work get it going, however once you know what you are doing, then the learning curve would be less steeper to scale up.

That's a great niche to be in however broad you may want to narrow it down to a subcategory starting out, otherwise you will find it very hard to get noticed by the search engines and to compete with big authority sites. Target audience is important too, who would you be writing to, once you are able to identify them, you are closer to finding a focused niche.

Once a site starts gaining traction, traffic and authority you can then scale to cover another subcategory.

See example blog post below A niche subject is something you are passionate and genuinely interested in could be a hobby or an interest, and know so well you can write plenty original content about.

ONE niche, a website. Products and programs can be varied however all must be relevant to the niche.

You may consult with https://answersocrates.com/ for further research into finding a subcategory starting out. You can search what real people are asking as in Questions, Prepositions, Comparisons, in the past, letters and query. It is also great if someone wants to write a thorough research based article.

For example if you are in hair loss
https://blog.feedspot.com/women_hair_loss_blogs/

When deciding on a niche try narrow it down to a more specific niche, you can ask yourself the following question:

So I want to help people with ____________________ ?

Fill in the blank aand you are going to get closer to a specific audience. Essentially you are writing more informational posts so that you do not sound so salesy to Google and if there’s a solution, a detailed analysis review post for your visitors to let them make an informed decision whether to go click your links and go purchase the focused item you proposed to solve their issue.

After thinking long and a hard about this niche I am wondering if I should or can change it. I did a lot of checking out what is out there that can help and came across a new product to me at least that might actually work. Unfortunately I myself have not tried it but some have and they are raving about it working only it takes time. Now because I have not tried it myself I feel I am not really promoting what I believe in myself. So can I change my niche even if I've completed setting up the website for it and how.

I feel so overwhelmed trying to decide on a niche, I absolutely love to cook and I am always on the look out for quick and affordable meals because our life is always so busy and when I google quick, affordable meals I always end up on some celebrities site teaching me how to throw some fancy 30 min pasta dish together with ingredients I either don't have, never heard of, or really expensive and if I try to make it 9 times out of 10 it's so fancy or taste so "mature" my daughter won't eat it. Anyway I'm wondering if there is a call out there for a site with a more realistic of quick affordable meals that kids will eat like our favorite go too of pasta, tuna and pea's a entire family meal done at potentially $6.00

And this is where I become very confused each time, like you say narrow it down and explain how to and to you it may sound simple but to me what you are explaining sounds clear as mud so again I get stuck on a "niche" obviously the majority of my target audience is going to be women with busy schedules because the majority of women do the cooking within the home however I know there are many men who also do it so I guess it would be people with busy schedules but again I still feel as though you are going to say this is too broad and I am feeling very lost.

Hi Dee. Many of us can relate to the frustration you mentioned. There is so much information here on WA, it's hard to get through it all. I would suggest, though, that you go step by step through the training, and don't get a step. Even watch the videos and read the explanations more than once. That helped me to get clearer on some of the concepts and details.

Abie provided some links to blog articles, which may really help, as well. I would highly suggest reading articles like that. There are quite a few more. I am sure that if you ask people for specific posts/articles/training about niche selection, once you've studied them a little more, it will start to make more sense.

You can do it! Don't give up. There is nothing wrong with taking it slow, and not missing steps along the way. The WA team has structured the training in a great way that will lead you in the right direction as you follow the steps.

As many of the experienced people mention in their comments and on their profiles ... this is a super supportive community and you can find help.

Keep the faith and dig in and work/study hard! You can do this!!

Things like recipes, meal preps or plans, specific kinds, organic, vegan, healthy diets, nutrition for kids, And perhaps specifying more your audience as in toddlers, nutritional for 3-5 year olds, 5 - 7 years and so on.

I'd use Answer Socrates try find out what real people are asking, you can also use Jaaxy tool however starters are limited to 30 searches. Look for searches (avg.) above 30 and competition (qsr. ) lower than 100, the lower the qsr the better. Starter sites SEO greater than 95.

https://my.jaaxy.com/search/keywords

Jaaxy lite is included in your premium subscription to the platform, and QSR has to be clicked manually to reveal a value.

For your choice of keywords, always do an incognito search on Google before settling on a keyword, to see who appears in the top 3 positions.

Or you may do in Jaaxy tool search analysis

How to Become An Expert in Any Niche list of 3000 niches A niche is something you feel super excited to write about, a skill you have attained, something that resonates with you. You will want to be focused on one niche. What is it that you want to help a group of people with or what problem do you want to help them solve (group could be age, gender, location, experience level, degree or type of need, etc.)

A niche is not a product, it's a subject that you can help a target audience with. Remember, you are not setting up a shop (store), you will be writing lots of articles about your niche to help your targeted audience.

The importance of a targeted audience is that It's always better to target a specific niche with a specific solution to problems.

Kyles asks us to complete this statement.
'i want to help ____(group) with ______(problem)'

For example. I like camping and what to help campers buy the right equipment to make their camping experience more pleasant and safe.

Camping is a very broad topic with a lot of competition so to eliminate some competition in the beginning so the website has a chance to grow, the focus needs to be a smaller scope. For example essential camping equipment for beginners. Once the website is established and has a good volume, its scope can be expanded to include other things camping related. This is just an example.

So your niche is cooking for busy women.
What about cooking for busy women with young children. That would bring some unique elements to it.

Your content could include picky eaters and how to deal with them, nutrition for young children. Recipes. appliances and utensils you use.

No Offense meant; trying to help. Hope this helps and encourages?

A question that comes to mind is: should I set up and register an LLC for my website since it's technically an online business? Where I live it's required to register any businesses or else face pretty serious penalties (I think it's $100 a day since beginning doing business under an un-registered name)

Well, you're an independant, but not sure what the laws are where you are.

Don't know where you live. But for tax purposes in the US you can be either an sole proprietor or a LLC. As a sole proprietor you income is reported as a consultant under your Social Security Number with a 1099misc. Under an LLC you must apply for an EIN number and this is where profits are reported and tax filing must be done separately from your personal taxes..

As an affiliate marketer you do not inventory, pack, ship or bill for a product nor handle customer issues. Those are things the product owner handles. You are just a marketer.

I would do some browser searching to get more familiar with this.
