OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also known as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 SIMPLE steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are TWO options here, "On a free domain" or "On a domain I own".

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host your own FREE website as a Starter and you can use that to get rolling with your niche website.

When you are ready to take things to the next level, you will want to consider getting your own domain name. Having your own .com domain will lead to quicker rankings in search engines (like Google) and will also be the start of your successful, high value brand. You can get your very own domain for FREE within the Premium memberships, so, so something to consider when you are ready.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium memberships, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature.

So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can easily move it to your own domain. Easy peasy.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "Calorie Method" into the domain field. I am building a website to help people with calorie counting (and ultimately losing weight).

The first step is choosing the domain name, which is your niche name.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "caloriemethod".

***As I mentioned in the last section, ideally I want to OWN my own .com domain asset, and I will be getting my own domain in the next level. ;)

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: caloriemethod.siterubix.com

Title: Calorie Method

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand-picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

When you do upgrade, you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below). There are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

The theme will be selected for you if you are Starter (GeneratePress), but if you have already upgraded you will be able to choose any theme that you want.

After your choose your theme, head to the "Ready to build" section and simply click "Build My Website".

And presto, you are doing and you are now up and running with your website!

Hi Kyle; thank you for that informative training.
I am still an infant honestly when it come to this. But once you have set up your affiliate website, who provides the content for the product? Do i have to create it or the "company" of the product provides it for me?

You can research other people's work, however all content must be original written in your own words.

That's to include all content, both informational and review posts.

You would normally need content and traffic before you can apply for programs as they would inspect those elements prior approval. Once accepted they supply you with material and unique coded links you can add on your website.

I hope this helps.

Your website should have 70% informational and 30% reviews.

You can create informational posts that will drive traffic to your website.

I love singing and music. I am thinking of a niche with a rubric of Karaoke. However, I am confused and stuck. Because I want to make money first and then do what I love next. Should I go into BootCamp or should I venture off into karaoke. And if so how would I get my content for it? Thanks.

You can do either core training However I would decide based on what I am passionate and genuinely interested in.

Target audience is also important like who would benefit best from what I have to offer.

When deciding on a niche try narrow it down to a more specific niche, you can ask yourself the following question:

So I want to help people with ____________________ ?

Fill in the blank and you are going to get closer to a specific audience. Example: Karaoke for beginners.

Hi there,
I've just signed on with WA and currently doing the online training. I need to choose my niche and wanted some advice as to which choice to go with. I have many interests that I can pursue, i.e., pets (dogs), travel, cooking, gardening, fashion, jewellery, art, music, theatre etc. Currently, I am personally focused on a healthier lifestyle and trying to lose weight. Staying mentally and physically disciplined is very hard but rewarding so I thought I would go with health and fitness or weight loss. Does this need to be even more specific than these two categories. Thank you Helen

Hello, Helen, these all sound very interesting. But for now pick the one your most passionate about. The one you can write plenty of content on. Just to make sure you understand what a niche is. It's a group of people looking for stuff.
So if you wanted to talk about dogs what would you talk alot about.how much content can you offer this group. You'll need to be able to captivate your audience.let them know that you have this burning passion of knowledge that you want to tell. Later on this will benefit you as when you apply for affiliate programs or links to your desired niche. Pick one for now, see how easy/hard this might be.write plenty of content on dogs clothing to treats to collars etc.
Once you figure out which niche you want to apply you have the experience to have others. And who knows you could put gardening somewhere in there with dog nutrition. Just a thought.remember we are all here for your success. This was an awesome question please keep asking when you need answers. I am Dennis (the man with the smoker). Go to http://tastywayscom.com and have a look at my niche. Have a fantastic new year.

You need aim for ONE focused niche with a specific group of people, I'd go with what's best resonates with me.

These are very broad niches and need be scaled down to a focused sub-category starting out.

For example, yoga exercises and for beginners.

When deciding on a niche try narrow it down to a more specific niche, you can ask yourself the following question:

So I want to help people with ____________________ ?

Fill in the blank and you are going to get closer to a specific audience.

My passion is transportation. I used to be an over-the- road truck driver covering 48 states for one of the largest national trucking companies. Also, I was a Greyhound Bus Driver. I also drove a taxi part time on and off for 30 years. But, my ultimate passion is aviation. How about a website that introduces first time flyers to the process flying for the first time?

Good morning everyone..I hope you all had a great Christmas with family and friends...I've got a couple of questions about niches...
I have a few different niche ideas: 'Healthcare' with a focus on a couple of sub niches such as 1/ drug and alcohol rehabilitation
2/ cosmetic surgery packages in Thailand and Sth Korea
3/ Healthcare supplements
4/ Defibrillators

'Personal security' ie Personal alarms and security devices

'Motorcycle accessories'

I really want to get cracking asap on my website so I would be very grateful for your feedback...

Many thanks in advance.

Sure, you have lots of great niche ideas there. One thing that you might want to consider is the medical niches are something that you have to be careful about...as Google want's some sort of credentials if you are going to head in a direction where you would typically be offering "doctor" based advice.

Because of this I would recommend that you consider heading in either the Personal security/alarms or motorcycle niches.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Great advice...much appreciated...I def would not be giving people advice other than referring them onto the person that runs the organisation and they could take over from there...It's a huge industry in Thailand and many expats travel there for drug and alcohol treatment but I'm not sure if they any have an affiliate programme set up. If they don't, do you recommend moving on or can they be offered help to set one up?

I would also follow up on legalities before you proceed.

You can do a google search
Your niche + affiliate programs
Your niche + affiliate programs + location
and see what results you get

Sure, it could be a good niche...and you could also sell leads to these treatment centres as well, that is another business model you can leverage once you are able to attract qualified and relevant traffic.

I know someone first hand that does that in real estate, they utilize the web to captures leads and sell them off to realtors. Lots of ways to monetize traffic once you have it.
