OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also known as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host your own FREE website as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domains). As a Premium Plus+ member, you can build and host up to 50 websites (including websites on your own domains). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can easily move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "Calorie Method" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "caloriemethod".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: caloriemethod.siterubix.com

Title: Calorie Method

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

In case you need them, here are some general niche tips to help you refine your niche idea.

A niche is something you feel super excited to write about, a skill you have attained, something that resonates with you. You will want to be focused on one niche. What is it that you want to help a group of people with or what problem do you want to help them solve (group could be age, gender, location, experience level, degree or type of need, etc.)

A niche is not a product, it's a subject that you can help a target audience with. Remember, you are not setting up a shop (store), you will be writing lots of articles about your niche to help your targeted audience.

The importance of a targeted audience is that It's always better to target a specific niche with a specific solution to problems.

Kyles asks us to complete this statement.
'i want to help ____(group) with ______(problem)'

For example. I like camping.
Camping is a very broad topic with a lot of competition so to eliminate some competition in the beginning and to give my website has a chance to rank and grow in traffic, the focus needs to be a smaller scope.

For example my initial narrow scope could be: essential camping equipment for beginners. I can talk about camping, my experiences, what I have learned about camping, and how I have discovered what is really needed. Since I am quality focused, I have found good equipment which I believe is the very best. I will share my review of the equipment I use and why it is the best. Once the website is established and has a good volume of traffic, its scope can be expanded to include other things camping related.

So with my initial narrow scope, after visiting my website, a beginning camper will have a good idea of what camping is all about for a beginner and the equipment needed and the best brand products to buy. I will have many products on my niche website, but they will all relate to camping.

I am passionate about camping and want my readers to get excited about it too and feel comfortable when going for the first time that they have the necessary equipment..

So my niche is camping with an initial narrow scope. My targeted group is beginning campers wondering what equipment is needed and what the best is.

I have had some disappointing experiences so I want to help them avoid the same mistakes I have made. I will help campers buy the right equipment to make their camping experience more pleasant and safe.

I will write many content posts about camping (the how to’s, what is, etc.). A beginner camper has no idea what kind of equipment is necessary. So I will write posts about the necessary equipment. I will choose products I can recommend. I will compare products and identify the best. So after visiting my website a beginning camper will have a good idea of what camping equipment is needed and the best brand products to buy. So I will have many products on my niche website, but they will all relate to camping equipment necessary for a pleasant and safe camping experience.

Why should you narrow your niche when first starting?
The key to getting started fast is to narrow your niche down to a specific topic. This way, you will eliminate a lot of competition and get results much faster. Once your site is established and you are getting traffic you can expand your niche scope.

Keep in mind it's important to choose a niche specific enough that way the target audience arrives at the website and finds exactly what they're looking for. When you go to broad, you lose that.

Health and Wellness would be a very, very broad niche, a little too broad.

If you choose a niche specific enough with plenty of room for scaling out later you are in good shape.

Here are a couple of blogs on narrowing and expanding a niche.

I have a website with the niche as tool crib. I want to feature different kinds of tools for different kinds of jobs. but I want to be paid as an affiliate with all of the sales of the tools but I dont want to drop ship. If I post tools on my site for playing music or carpentry or business tools? Does wealthy Affiliate provide these tools and a distributer of tools or do I have to sign up as a affilate to guitar land and get their commissions for selling their tools? How would I go about branding the tools sold on my site and how do I keep people on my site buying tools rather than reroute them to low's website or menards websites? I may be asking this question too soon when i just need to continue the training and it may just answer my questions for me? Or am I going about this wrong entirely and maybe I should be designing a website about something completely different? Maybe not sell tools that are already branded at all and maybe I should be selling a blog as a tool or a marketing platform as a tool? or what would bring in the most cllientele? Marketing tools that are not so common to everybody like a dewalt drill? I am kind of at a stand still about this

Hi

In the first instance, I'd ask myself

Am I passionate and genuinely interested in my chosen niche, as I I'd be expected to write lots of content, it would motivate me to update blog with succinct original content worthy my visitors week in week out.

Would I be writing about it in a years time or two or more

Who would be my target audience, who would benefit most from what I have to offer.

It is a process, it first starts with selecting an aspect to discuss and address, onward getting site ready for affiliate programs. The question is WHO would be your target audience vs Not what you are selling to an audience.

You got to ask yourself what those tools can do to a specific audience, it has to be specific vs generalized.

You need aim for ONE focused niche with a specific group of people, I'd go with what's best resonates with me.

The recommendation is to focus on ONE site starting out as it takes lots of effort and work get it going, however once you know what you are doing, then the learning curve would be less steeper to scale up.

That's a great niche to be in however broad you may want to narrow it down to a subcategory starting out, otherwise you will find it very hard to get noticed by the search engines and to compete with big authority sites. Target audience is important too, who would you be writing to, once you are able to identify them, you are closer to finding a focused niche.

Once a site starts gaining traction, traffic and authority you can then scale to cover another subcategory.

See example blog post below A niche subject is something you are passionate and genuinely interested in could be a hobby or an interest, and know so well you can write plenty original content about.

ONE niche, a website. Products and programs can be varied however all must be relevant to the niche.

You may consult with https://answersocrates.com/ for further research into finding a subcategory starting out. You can search what real people are asking as in Questions, Prepositions, Comparisons, in the past, letters and query. It is also great if someone wants to write a thorough research based article.

For example if you are in tool crib carpentry

You may like review below resource for more ideas

https://blog.feedspot.com/carpentry_blogs/
https://blog.feedspot.com/woodworking_blogs/

When deciding on a niche try narrow it down to a more specific niche, you can ask yourself the following question:

So I want to help people with ____________________ ?

Fill in the blank and you are going to get closer to a specific audience. Your niche research which you'd fine in site content > templates:-

Onward, your site need be ready before you apply for affiliate programs

You would have written 20 - 30 posts and have some traffic to be able apply for affiliate programs as typically they will check your site for relevance and traffic prior approval.

For Amazon it is 10 - 15 posts. You also would have to make 3 sales in your first 180 days.

Lucrative programs - 40 posts +

Once accepted, they've given you material and special tracking code links you can share on your site.

Essentially you are writing more informational posts so that you do not sound so salesy to Google and if there’s a solution, a detailed analysis review post for your visitors to let them make an informed decision whether to go click your links and go purchase the focused item you proposed to solve their issue.

Once they do, and in accordance with your affiliation terms and conditions, how commission payouts are tracked and paid. You need to read up how payments are made because different programs follow different rules; some pay by check others via PayPal or straight to your check account.

I would always adhere to your affiliate program terms and conditions.

Another Question! So I am abysmal at proof reading. I can write, I can create, but I am -terrible- at proof reading, catching spelling errors (the kind an auto checker won't catch for me), or picking up on minor grammatical errors. My brain just skips right over them and I can read an article 5 times over and miss them every time. For that reason I am likely going to hire a proof reader/editor at some point. How does one go about adding someone as an editor to their website through this platform? Do they need to be WA members too?
Reply
michaelw777 Premium
First: Site Support is supposed to have a system that can catch errors; it is in The Training; Site Support has a system that is supposed to catch errors and let you know.

I will say this too; if that is not enough? You can do your posts in Microsoft Word; Word will catch the errors too; and then you can copy and paste your proofread article into The right place.

But, if you want? Try Site Content too and see how it goes?

Hope this helps and encourages?

Hi

The tools here at WA have spell checkers and grammar, however you may want to invest in a tool called Grammarly that help with learning and writing, and also spell checking an avenue for you to consider.

With this tool you can do without the hiring as you are wanting some one that is qualified, that means outsourcing and budgeting, it can get quite expensive. They can also login their websites independently of WA, via [domain].com/wp-admin however you'd have to fetch their details via site manager.

You give them privileges as you please however I would certainly consider the first option.

Hope this helps.

Hi
I would like to create a website that contains articles that talk about legitimate sites and ways to earn a financial return and be in Arabic. The reason I chose this niche is that there are many tricks to help others, and a lot of people are looking for ways to make side money.
On the other hand, I want to create an English website containing programming exercises and software solutions to train web developers to practice. The reason I chose this: It is because of my passion and love for software and the technical field in general,
So, my questions are:
- Can you help me build any of them? Especially the site that contains Arabic content.
- Should I stick with just one or can I build both?
- Which of them has an opportunity for success?
I really want a full answer to take a step forward in this training
Thank you from the depths
your friend
Youcef.

Hi

Can you clarify? Would you be reviewing other websites, and if so you'd want to define what aspect of financial return are you considering and what target audience, irrelevant of which language the site is in.

You may also would like to review below resource You need aim for ONE focused niche with a specific group of people, I'd go with what's best resonates with me.

The recommendation is to focus on ONE site starting out as it takes lots of effort and work get it going, however once you know what you are doing, then the learning curve would be less steeper to scale up.

The question is WHO would be your target audience vs Not what you are selling to an audience.

For example if you are in programming and software

When deciding on a niche try narrow it down to a more specific niche, you can ask yourself the following question:

So I want to help people with ____________________ ?

Fill in the blank and you are going to get closer to a specific audience. Your niche research which you'd fine in site content > templates:-

Questions People are Asking
How to Solutions
Resources Within the Niche
Products You Can Promote/Review
Affiliate Programs
Products
Top Authority Sites/Competitors
Low Competition Keywords
Popular Magazines / Papers / Periodicals
Advertisement Ideas / Headline Ideas

Essentially you are writing more informational posts so that you do not sound so salesy to Google and if there’s a solution, a detailed analysis review post for your visitors to let them make an informed decision whether to go click your links and go purchase the focused item you proposed to solve their issue.

It is very hard for us to say what your success will be. Most of your success depends upon your doing and following the training and implementing it.

It starts by following the training lessons - both reading and applying.

So it is important to write about things related to your niche. The more you write original helpful content the more traffic you will get to your site and see success.

Here are some general niche tips you can use for your two niche ideas to help you decide on which one to start with. One niche is all you can handle well at one time when you first start because it takes time to research and write original content.

How to narrow a niche down How To Expand Your niche later Once a site starts gaining traction, traffic and authority you can then scale to cover another subcategory.
