If I sign up on the monthly option for premium and later decide I want to upgrade to premium plus, can I upgrade to it with the annual discounted price or will I have to do it monthly? what about committing to a year of premium? would I be able to switch from monthly to annual if I want? the reason I ask is because I want to try it out first. If a see after a few months this will work for me I would then switch to annual. What I want to avoid is signing up for annual and then if I see it is not for me I do not want to lose the entire year fee. Thanks for your help

You can do that. It is sensible to try it first.

Go monthly first and you can change over to yearly later on... that's your best bet.

Thanks but I am yearly grandfathered :)

As others have said, you are in full control Mark. You can move from Premium to Premium Plus+, and also monthly to yearly!

Like me I took advantage of a special Black Friday offer a couple of years ago and I pay the same amount every year. Grandfathered at that price.

Hey folks. New to this adventure. Not sure how to even start but have read a lot of fodder within the site. Semi retired from 50 years of general contracting, home remodeling and cell tower construction for all major carriers. I keep seeing these “upgrade to premium for $49./$99. per month enticements, which interest me, yet all I find is ‘billed yearly’ on any purchase page. Is that it?
If I pay the annual price and find after 3 months that the program truly sucks, is the balance refundable? The WA plan seems ultra modern to someone my age, yet it must work since nobody is under indictment after 17 years. Anxious to learn a new career, just need a little more educated info.

On the upgrade page, you can toggle to monthly.

Yeah, choose monthly if you want. We lead with the lowest price, but it is cheaper if you invest in a year at a time. Start off as monthly if that works best for you, and then you can move to yearly at a later point if you want. ;)

I have a domain and website already I built in WIX. I also have an email address with that domain. Years ago I set one up for a MLM product I was using at the time and no longer do. I just renewed the website because of my email address on that domain. Can I work wth it instead of yours?

Yes, you can ,but you cannot host it here at WA, WordPress is used here, also some lessons are related to that. But if you feel comfartable using Wix and don't mind it is not hosted here then all is ok

luc has you covered here. I wanted to welcome you to WA. Your story of your one child being switched at birth brought a smile.

I wanted to mention on the WIX question you have. It could also serve you at one point having that site hosted at WIX instead of here. If you get some good traffic flowing to it from tips you learn here (or if you already get good traffic) and decide to start a second site here, if the niche is similar you can use each to help refer traffic to one another without worrying Google might view it as a Private Blog Network.

The plus to this is if the two sites are complimentary, having links between the two sites would be natural.

Regards,

Jason

Hello Everyone! I am excited to absorb as much information as possible in this chat. I am currently looking to add a supplemental income as I have had my hours at work cut. I welcome any advice you may have to make a success in this new journey. My niche to begin will be all things pet related. I love animals so I think this is a good thing to begin with. TIA!

Great to have you here Anita, I know you have found a home here at WA. Sounds like you have a really big passion when it comes to pets, you just want to narrow this down a little bit to a particular facet of pets.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience.

Also, I recommend that you use the Niche Finder AI (Artificial Intelligence) platform here at WA:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/home#nichefinder

If you plug your ideas in there, you are going to get lots of concepts for narrowed down niches. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Hi,

So I have a question, my top number 1 concern has been choosing the Niche and the reason is that my passions and what I like and enjoy which are Health & Fitness, Nutrition and Personal Growth and development comes under Google YMYL and EAT.

Considering that in order to get clicks on my links and get commissions I need to get traffic to my website, that has been one of the things that have kept me frozen on moving forward since Google updated their algorithm with YMYL and EAT.

How would you say I can go about this? Should I be choosing a different Niche? Thanks.

Good morning Jonas,

Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate; it's great to see you here, you have joined a great platform.

Sometimes I think it's just easier to ignore Google, within reason and go to where your passion is! I believe that if you follow the training, as many people have, you stand a very good chance of being successful. It also helps if you have a real passion for your niche, as I believe that passion can shine through in your writing and people can see that you are serious.

I hope this helps.

I wish you every success with your online business.

The niches you mention have many topics that was not affected by the YMYL update. It depends on the specific niche and topics. I would avoid a niche that focused on medical advice as that will definitely be hard to rank. But there are many other topics that are great for an affiliate site. You can get an idea about this by looking at what is already ranking in your niche.

As for EAT, this is actually relevant for all sites and not just some niches. It is about showing you have expertise and that you are an expert. But that is what you learn to do with the training here.

You need to prove you are an authority in your niche and possess the knowledge, as some niches that fall under Google YMYL could impact someone's life. You may have to display a disclaimer.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. So I would like to explain that I was a personal trainer and fitness manager back in the day, I then left the fitness industry over 15 years ago and went into sales, I am currently an area sales manager for an IT consultancy company. I still help some friends and family with nutrition and training advice, weight loss and also life advice in general about how to be healthier, active, positive and more successful in life.

I am also very passionate about food and cooking, I tried to do a food blog before but gave up as doing the recipes and pictures take a lot of my time and working full time is a bit of a difficult one to grow. I have lived on 2 different continents and visited more than 30 countries on 3 different continents so I would definitely be passionate about writing about something like food culture or food travelling. When I answer the following question I come up with several answers:

I want to help people that … men over 40 to be more successful and happy in life through their nutrition, exercise and healthy productive habits advice.
I want to help people that … are interested in food, the history and culture behind each cuisine, and their techniques of cooking and share information about travelling culinary experiences.
I want to help people that … need a comfortable outdoor space back home to understand the best and most affordable products in the market as well as give them tips and ideas on how to do it.

After doing some niche research I have come up with the following possible niches:

Dating Advice for Single Men Over 40.
Low Calorie Nutrition for Men Over 40.
Success Habits for Men Over 40.
Outdoor Chillout Furniture.
Marketing Automation Software.
Project Management Software.
Organic Products
Gourmet Food Travel
Cultural Food Travel

I am planning to set up several sites. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like you have already done some great research.

I would suggest you also use Google to check what is already ranking in the different niches and see if there are affiliate sites as that gives you an indication of its potential.

And then, I would be careful about going into marketing automation software as your first niche. Most sites in this niche are problem run by experts or companies with big teams which is difficult to compete with when you are just starting. This is something you can also see when you do some googling and look at your competitors.

Also, I would suggest you start with one site and grow that and start earning from that before starting several. I see many people getting excited about all the niche opportunities that are there and then start working on several sites but it spreads them out and success will then take longer compared to putting all the focus into one site. Especially when you still have a regular job you have to do also.
In addition to that, it is a learning process and if you focus on one site you will learn a lot from that and learn what to do and what not to do, and that will make it a lot more effective when building another site later.

Hope this helps and gives you some ideas.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. When I said I plan to do several sites I didn't mean all at the same time as I agree with what you are saying. Just wondering about those niches which should be easier to rank and monetize first...any suggestions? Thanks.

Good to hear.

As for the best to start with, that is something I cannot as such answer as it would take a lot of research for me to look into these niches as I do not know them. And a lot of it also comes down to what you are passionate about and feel the most motivated to get started with, as that is important to be able to keep going and get results. And also, what you have the most experience with is important as that will make it easier for you to create content and find content ideas.

But one thing to think about is that traveling content can be hard to create if you are not constantly traveling.

One thing I would also suggest is to not make the URL too specific so it allows you to expand your niche later. For example, your URL should not include something with "over 40" if that is the target audience you want to go for. Because later on, you might find out that you also want to have content that is relevant for others. Just something to think about.

Hope this helps
