OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also known as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host your own FREE website as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domain). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can easily move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.stierubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

Hello everyone I am a bit stressed, when creating initial content for my website I omitted the titles for About Me post and Privacy Policy page as a result they are not appearing as they should on my website. The titles Sample page and About we as at are respectively appearing on my website even after editing under Site content. Is it possible to delete this website and start a new one because surely I have spent good 2 days trying this and that to no avail Please advise.

once you have published content then you need to work on it on your site - not in sitecontent.
so if you log into your website by going to websites- sitemanager and login
you will be able to edit your content on your site and it will then change.
good luck
phil
if you want ot delete it then go to sitemanager and click on more and scroll to the bottom and click on delete this site.
but you can always edit the content on the site....so good practice

Stress not Euphemia :-)
OK, go to your wordpress back office
Select the tab on the left hand side called 'Posts'
Hover over your post that you want to call About Me and you'll see a small menu come up underneath it saying 'Edit' - among others.
Click on the 'Edit'
Your post will come up and you can edit your title.
Once you have done your edit - click the 'Update' button on the right hand side of the screen.
Yay! your post should now be titled About Me.
Repeat the same process for your Privacy Policy page but select the Pages tab in the ;left hand column.
Do your edit, click the update button and you're golden.

Hope this helps and shout out if not

That is too cute!!!!! You could write about different cute matching outfit ideas for mom and daughter, or mom and daughter jewelry, mom and daughter photos, fun hobbies that a mom and daughter can do together. Those are just a few that I can think of.

Hello friends,

New premium member here and just wrapped up the 9th lesson. I was wondering how many keywords should I use per article that I write? Do you guys have a specific criteria and process in terms of the quantity of keywords that you use in your articles? Also, should I put emphasis in using keywords for article titles?

Thanks for the help guys! Follow me and keep in touch.

Best,
Kobe Conklin

Hi,

From what I understand you should pick a keyword and put that in your title and then write your article around that keyword and authentically insert that key word throughout your article. Your keyword can be a single word or a phrase.

I hope this helps.

Hey Kobe and Welcome :-)

Google is changing all the time, and although keyword density is not that high up the list anymore, it is still advised to write one post based around one keyword With the keyword in the title and the first paragraph of content, as a minimum.

When writing your content, make sure that it is related to the keyword, but you can use synonyms and plurals etc.

Hope that helps,
Chrystopher

Hey there!

Congratulations and well done on becoming a Premium Member. If I may say so, good move!

As far as I understand your question, the number of keywords you have in your posts is not really a question of number of times.

It's more a question of context and are you using them correctly? The search engines will penalize you for keyword packing, using the keyword multiples times for no apparent reason.

So I guess I could have said all of that just by saying, as long as they are being used correctly and in context, as far as I know there is no limit.

Of course I could be wrong and am open to correction by someone who may know better.

Hope tat helps.

Regards

I have a quick question if anyone could help me! So, when I went to buy my own domain, the only one open was ".net "so I bought it. However, when my dad came over he told me to check godaddy.com because sometimes it will be available. When I went to Godaddy.com I was able to buy the ".com", do I need to use the transfer domain tab? And would that verification code be there?

Hi,

If you want to transfer your .net to .com I believe you will need to do a move not a transfer unless you did not buy your domains through WA then you would use transfer.

I hope this helps.

Just more common & I would think a little easier for customers. I feel like since I always assumes something is ".com", others would but who am I lol? Mainly based on preference for me!

How come I have all these widgets that won't show on my website? The only one that shows up on my website is the one that's circled. All the other ones, when ever I drag the 'search' 'recent posts' or 'recent comments' into them, they don't show. I can't add a footer and I did exactly what Kyle did, except mine says 'footer widget area 1', nothing showed up on the footer area of my website. I attached some images to show a visualization.

What shows up when you click that drop-down arrow in your "Blog Sidebar Widget Area" box?
Reply
Misael712 Premium
Just the 'search' 'recent posts' or 'recent comments' bars

Depending on the theme, there may be settings that control whether a particular widget area is displayed or not. Or sometimes there are different types of pages that contain some but not all of the widget areas.

Yes, I tested out a different theme to see what happened. And it turned out that the widgets correlate with the theme. I guess it's just not something available for my theme. Plus, when I changed the theme, all the other widgets were no longer there. It just seems odd to me that there are so many different widgets available but I can only see one on my page .
