OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also knwn as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host up to 2 FREE websites as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 25 free websites and the ability to create 25 sites on your own domains (total 50 websites). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you may own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.stierubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to 12, hand picked quality designs.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 2,464 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

Kyle & staff ...

although I have really just started my journey, I have not been able to avoid a theme. The arrow or mouse seen throughout each presentation is sometimes very difficult to follow. This in part due to my being a newbie. Another reason is due to the size of the mouse or pointer and the fact that it blends so well into the background. you can imagine how this could give attendees a rather nice headache.

May I respectfully suggest an edit on the presentations going forward? I recommend a dark color (red) circle to house the mouse or pointer of sufficient size to be spotted instantly. This will also help encourage viewer attention span.

Thoughtfully ...
- Brian

Hi Brian

I have my share of vision challenges too. Have you increased the size of the screen when you are watching the training? I didn't to start off with and it is so much more difficult to see what is going on that way. You can also increase the size by clicking on the three dots on the top right hand of your screen and select zoom.

Hope this helps you.

Hi pretty lady!!! Thank you for your post. I enjoyed reading both it and your bio. you are an interesting young woman.

While I AM still learning - ARGGHHHH, I am aware of the screen information you shared. but as I posted (I think), my issue is not the screen, but the mouse or pointer on the screen. I have watched presentations with the mouse as we see at Wealthy Affiliates - HARD to find AND follow; and I've enjoyed presentations that displayed the encircled mouse - MAJOR difference. Much easier to follow and to understand the material presented.

I also posted because I know I am not the only one concerned about this, but I am probably the only one to have posted about it.

I LOVE that you shared what you have in your profile. I would love to meet you in person.

Again, I appreciate that you posted!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello - realistically is it recommended to set up a website with your own domain to drive traffic to your site? I'm conscious that my content won't show in google searches with a free site. I am more than happy to invest and pay for the premium membership once I've familiarised myself with the WA site and the introductory training :)

Hi Rachel
I think you will be pleasantly surprised (in fact, I know you will be :-)) My siterubix site was ranked by Googole in no time at all. You really do not need to commit yourself to buying your domain at the outset.
Wishing you every success!

Hi there people! Happy Monday! Any help on this niche thing will be appreciated!

I'm a singer songwriter with a small YouTube channel. I have no albums to sell yet but will do further ahead. When I think about writing to promote products, the stuff I would get excited about is personal development books and courses, and spiritual books and courses. I may write a book myself at some stage.

My songs are uplifting songs with a positive message that would appeal to people who are interested in personal development and spirituality. So there is a link between my music and the products I'd like to promote.

Would it be best to have 2 separate websites, keeping the music spearate, or have it all in one place?

I would definitely gave two seperate niches. You don't want to confuse your audience. Jim

Okay - thank you so much for the advice Jim! Appreciate the quick reply. Have a great day!

Hello.. I'm new here and I had a couple questions I was wondering if you guys could answer! 1: I was needing to make some money to be able to supply for myself and help myself in times of need, as I have tourettes and other disabilities that cause me to not be able to work. So I was needing to know how fast I can get money started on here, and if it's easy? 2: I needed to know some tips on how to make a website people would be interested in and ways to get money easily throughout it? I have goals I wish to achieve! Thanks in advance.
Hi Daiisuki I'm new here as well hope we can really achieve our goals soon.

Hi Lisa, This isn't a get rich quick opportunity but some people start to earn pretty early on. It is one to look at the long game. To build something solid that will sustain over time. As far as your niche, almost anything will work with over 4 billion people on the internet. Choose something you are interested in or are knowledgeable about. Maybe even a disability? It should be something you'll stay interested in for the long haul. :) Hope this helps.

SInce I'm a bit familiar with WP, I went on and created an about me page and a couple of categories that can be seen in the menu section of my website. Yesterday I followed the instructions in the training and published a private policy page plus updated my about me page according to the template in Site Content. Today I can't see the private policy page. What can be the problem?

Dale123 Premium
You just mentioned you "published a private policy page"... If you made it private you won't be able to see it unless you're logged in. Go to your admin panel, click all posts & check from there.

Thanks Dale! I've just finished the training on creating a menu and it turned out that since I already had a menu in place, the privacy page needed to be added to that menu in order for it to become visible.
