OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a video walking you through the Website Platform (also knwn as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

DISCUSS VIDEO: Building Your Websites in 30 Seconds, LIterally

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host up to 2 FREE websites as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 25 free websites and the ability to create 25 sites on your own domains (total 50 websites). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you may own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.stierubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to 12, hand picked quality designs.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 2,464 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

The powerful hosting you have access you here is unparalleled in the Managed Wordpress hosting industry. We truly specialize here in providing a secure, robust and FAST platform for you to run your website.

Hello Successful people in WA.
It is a wonderful day in Japan. How's yours?

In Japan, it is illegal for people other than pharmacists and doctors to sell over-the-counter drugs online. What about the United States and other countries? I would like to hear the opinion of those who are familiar with the law on this matter. Please tell me anything you know.

I very much welcome just "Hello".

Hi - you have to actually apply to join an affiliate program such as Amazon. You then choose the products you wish to promote and they will supply you with a code which you add to your website to create a link.

There are ways to rank your about me page or post and since the brand your building is you that's not a bad thing to get hits to that page. Level two training goes into depth on ranking pages with keywords and building your own site traffic.

Hi everyone and welcome to my cordlesstolls website. I have loved using power tools ever since I was aloud to. I always loved building thing when I was growing up. I started out with a few hand tools and built up my tools as I got money and needed diffferent tools. When I started to buy the power tools they where a lot faster and I found them easy to use. When I got into using cordless tools it was even better because you didn't need a power source and cords to get in you way.
Over the years I have bought and used a lot of power tools. I have found a lot that worked and a few that did not work as well.

Help People find cordless tools.

Looks like a great start! Be sure to run it through grammar.ly or just ask another person to read through to catch any possible spelling/grammar errors. I can't speak for everyone else, but personally, when the grammar is off, it makes me question the products. For example: when you started your about me, the cordless tools would be the proper set up. You mention loving to use power tool ever since you were "aloud" to. Generally, when a person says "aloud", they mean verbally saying something. "Allowed" would be the proper word. So on, so forth. Best of luck to you!!

Good on you for having a go. You sound passionate about what you do. Don't let your lack of writing skills hold you back. Can I ask is English your first language?
The best way to improve your writing is to read other peoples posts. That way you will improve on spelling and sentence structure.
Try to get in the habit of using the spellcheck at the end of each paragraph. What I do is write content. Leave it for a bit. Go back and read it (out loud is good) and tweak it abit.
I hope this helps

Hi - you can join any of the Amazon sites from any country. The internet is a global marketplace. Amazon also has a feature called OneLink which directs customers to the correct site for their country.

For example, I am in the UK, but most of my traffic comes from the US, so I am signed up with both versions of Amazon.

Sounds like an interesting niche and one in which you are passionate about. That's really the key as it means you are far less likely to burn out creating all of the required content.

I think your next step is to start researching and see where the market is at. Start with "sports ministry" and run the numbers on Jaaxy, as well as doing a Google search to see what's already out there. Get a feel for if the niche is too big, too small, or just right.

Then repeat that process with various keywords and/or post titles that you might like to write about. Again, you're trying to get a feel for where you need to be.

Spend a few hours going through this process and you will have a pretty good idea on how to proceed. Any niche can be successful, but sometime you have to find an angle that separates you from the crowd.

Good luck, and if you have any questions just let us know. :-)

Thank you Kyle, Through your videos I have realised I have over 18 years experience in working africanised bees and honey extraction and purification process, and choosing good honey... so my new niche is Bee honey...

AJTrimble1 Premium
I would recommend that you don't just focus on "bee honey" as that is more of a product (albeit a delicious one!) In other words, there's only so much you can say about it. Think bigger.

Instead, share your 18 years of experience. By talking not just about honey, but about how one gets started, how to work with different bees, the types of equipment needed, various extraction techniques, and how the purification process works, safety tips, and so on, you could have enough material to write for years to come.

In other words, don't limit yourself to just a honey "store" when you could ultimately brand yourself as the expert: "Mr. Bee" :-)

Don't worry, you can organize all of your menus in any way that you like through custom menus.

You can add these custom menus to organize your top menu in any way in which you like, as well as create sub-menus (for themes that will support this). You can also use these custom menus to add within your side widgets on your website (within your sidebar).

Here is a tutorial on how to create custom menus: I use custom menus on all of my websites (over-ride that default menu). It allows much more control and organization....both good things!

I’ve decided! My niche shall be anime merchandise! The world should know more about the greatness of anime!

Leaving that aside, how does one go about getting traffic for their domain/website without actually having any products set up yet? Do you just advertise? I know I’m probably asking this right before the answer will be given to me within the next lesson or something. So one has to have enough traffic within their domain before a company will do business with them...I am wondering how one creates traffic without having any product on sale?

Hi - yes, this covered in the training. Basically, you will be writing articles about your chosen niche which will attract traffic. You will be learning about keywords - these are what people use when searching for something in Google.

After watching this video, I have 2 immediate questions.

1.) Does it cost money just to create and/or maintain a website one would be using as an affiliate?

2.) Are there certain criteria one has to fulfill before one can become an affiliate for any company? I can’t imagine companies would willingly allow every single website that approaches them to promote their products, am I correct? If so, then what is the process and what are the criteria? I can also imagine different companies having different requirements so simply telling me what you’ve faced should suffice.

You should purchase are domain name as soon as you can which typically is less than $15 a year. That is your only cost because as a premium member you can host here. Different networks do have different rules regarding affiliate. One thing they all have in common is they will not allow you to become an affiliate until you can prove you have real traffic human traffic to your website. In fact there is no point in monetising a website until you have human traffic

1)

You can start with a free website here on WA. It'll be a Siterubix website and not a .com or something like that. But it's free. So you could start out without paying anything.

Otherwise you'll pay $10-$15 a year, depending on the extension you chose (.com is a bit more expensive than a.nl for instance).

2)

Different companies have different criteria. Some look at the numbers/traffic, some at the quality of your content. I joined the affiliate network ShareASale and found over a dozen merchants that I applied to. I got turned down by only 2. At that time I only had 5 blog posts on my website and just about the same number of visitors a month.

If you write good quality content about a clear, defined niche and you find the right companies/merchants to match your content and niche, that's when you shouldn't have a problem being accepted.

Amazon accepts everyone for the first 180 days. But if you don't make 3 sales in those 180 days, you lose your affiliate account. So it's best to wait applying to Amazon until you've got traffic to your site and to your social media accounts.

Hey everyone!

I think I have the "About me" content just about finished. Between the "Vision" and the "Goals" sections of the template, I feel like they are pretty much the same for my website.
I just thought I would leave it here for any suggestions.

As always, I love to hear feedback from the community here at WA.

Hello everyone and welcome to my website!
Here you will ultimately find me just having a blast with my Labrador Retriever (Toby) and I would like to share some training tips that I have learned.
My Story
My name is Mary and I guess you could say that I am a Labrador Retriever enthusiast! My love for the breed all started in my early teens when my stepmother and I visited a local Humane Society and adopted my first Labrador.

I was really excited and waited anxiously until the day they called and announced he was ready for his new home. Cisco was a year old when I first met him at the Humane Society and he quickly became my best friend.

At that time, I helped to train him on basic obedience, some grooming (bathing & brushing, my stepmom knew how to clip his claws).

I took him for hikes, walks everywhere, played fetch, swam with him, and ran with him in the yard.

He never seemed to tire out or get bored and he loved to play with kids.

Cisco passed away at a healthy age of 16 in my father's home in 2013 and the thing I've missed about him was the love and happiness you could clearly see in his eyes and his "ride or die" companionship.

In 2018, I found Toby online while I was in de-mobilization status coming off of deployment. I'll never forget the day...

Today, Toby is 11 months old and I've worked on his obedience and training on my own. Some things work and some things don't, but I've enjoyed working with him just the same. Don't get me wrong, I do seek out tips and advice with training whenever I get stuck or it seems that some methods of approach aren't working.

I stay at home full time and I'm currently pursuing my BA in Logistics and Supply Management. Having the opportunity to attend online college courses allows me to spend more time with my best friend and ensures that he's never lonely either.
My Vision
I'm creating this website really as a visual project or video journal of my training sessions with Toby and to capture those moments of behaviour that I may seem to miss. I'm sure that I'm not the only dog owner out there that enjoys learning everything about her pet.
My vision is to help other dog owners passively train their dog "DIY" style. I've taken on this approach because I strongly believe that the #1 way to bond with your new dog is not only through playtime, but one-on-one training sessions and obedience. By taking this approach on myself, I've found the best results of Toby and I having a mutual respect for each other and he's quickly taken on looking to me for guidance as he explores and discovers new things around him everyday.

Hi everyone. When I was on this training and Kyle explained how to enable Keywords, his video shows a keyword box that opened up and he put in a few keywords. I know he said it's not too important to getting ranked (like it used to be), no box opened up on my screen when I clicked enable. Will that cause a problem now or in the future??? Thanks.

Yeah, that has since been removed. Don't worry about those, they didn't really do anything for your rankings anyways and I will be removing this from the training moving forward. :)

Hi as n new free member or premium member is it possible to create a domain out with siteRubix and attach it to my website? The reason for asking is I am not sure if for any reason I decided to unsubscribe(which at this point I doubt is unlikely) I would like to know if I would be the owner of the domain? I have had advice to keep my domain and hosting separate.

If it is not likely you will unsubscribe, follow the lessons and within short WA will ask you to register your own domain. At WA there is no need to keep hosting and domain separate. In fact I don't see why that could happen anyway.

Hi Steve, welcome to wa.
when you become a premium member you get hosting here for up to 25 domains you buy and you get 25 siterubix sites.
as a free member you get two free siterubix sites.
if you host your domain here then if you leave you just trnsfer your domain to another host, no problems.
i think the advice comes from where the industry standard is that if you buy a domain from somewhere you get ripped off with hosting costs. this is not the case here - $14 for a domain and if you take the black friday yearly costs, about $25 per month.
the hosting is locked down pretty solid - nothing gets in, but then you need to ask for things to talk out. but support here is pretty quick and open all day.
but there is no problem hosting your domain here and building your site out, and if you decide to move on , no problems.
if you start with a siterubi, you can easily transfer your work to a domain you buy , if it is hosted here. a couple of clicks and it is done.
good luck with your decision and getting out of the rat race.

There are 2 main criteria when choosing a niche.
1. Is there a hungry crowd - in other words, do a lot of people want to buy what you are recommending
2. Can you write about the topic several times a week for months to come

If the answer is yes to both then it is worth trying out.

Hi everyone!
Ok so I have a really good feeling about my niche. It's based off of passively training my Labrador Retriever I already have a good idea about what my content is going to entail on my website (Me training my dog and promoting the products, including books I've used in his training).

My vision for my site is to help people passively train their dog without having to pay thousands of dollars for professional trainers or board & train where you send your pup or dog away for someone else to train for a duration of time. I know that the number one way to bond with a new puppy is not only through playing but "DIY" training. I have learned a lot with this approach and my dog and I have a mutual respect for each other.

I've done some due diligence and it looks like my competition would be professional behaviorist's and professional trainer's websites that offer some free tips. Most of them however, don't suggest where to look for good training aids. I have a robust list of specific and good quality products that I've found to work for my high energy lab. I've also made a list of affiliate programs surrounding those products, not just Amazon.com.

Also, for my home description should I mention there that I am not a professional behaviorist/trainer, just an ordinary proud lab owner and this is what I've learned through my experience in training my dog? Disclaimer?

I would love to hear feedback from the community.
What are your thoughts?

I love Jacks. Maddie was great...If you were sitting down watching TV, that's what she was doing but, if you were getting all excited and what not, she's be bouncing all over.

Here's an image of her and Jake (Jake is still with us). There's also a picture of Lucy. Although not really, we tell people she's a rescue and show them this picture, LOL.
Reply
Mandy94112 Premium
Hahaha! That's absolutely true. Jacks seem to enjoy being a "lap dog". I still have to go some more research on the breed. There's a few factors I know that I'm facing when training. Mason's a senior dog and Toby is a youth, both are male which contributes to dominance, and Toby isn't fixed yet. I'm not planning on fixing him until he fully develops hormonally, typically by 2yrs. Mason has had some house breaking training but done in a different manner than what I'm teaching Toby.
Mason still likes to compete with Toby for attention and treats. I'm trying to work with him currently with trying to take over Toby's food bowl. They both get fed separately but Mason still manages to sneak past me if I'm not watching to snag seconds. Toby only seems to mind sometimes (when he's hungry), otherwise he just sits by him and stares. Lol

When I went in to delete the default post, page, and comment, there was a second page - a privacy policy page - that wasn't in the example in the video. Should I delete this also, or leave it since I assume I'll need to have a privacy policy page at some point and can use and/or modify it as needed rather than create one from scratch?

Leave the policy page. You will be creating one further in the training. It is a template you will use with only making a few changes by inserting your webpage address.

OMG! I have my FIRST website! Aaah! I'm so excited to learn how to get it fully customized with my own content and see it fully running. This training is so simple and easy to follow. I'm a little bummed that I just didn't have the time with military obligations to do this 3 years ago when I first joined WA. Things happen though and I'm sure that everyone can agree that things happen when the time is right.

I hope that everyone new to this training is having as much fun as I am progressing through the training!

Dear Wealthy Affiliate, you mentioned in the video that you don’t recommend creating your own niche and also being an affiliate marketer for WA at the same time. My questions is when is a good time to do both? Is there any benifit to doing both and are there any advanced members here on Wealthy Affiliate that have their own niches and are now marketing through the WA affiliate program

On your site you can make a page called “ get personal coaching from me “ on that page you can promote WA and tell them if they sign up through you that you will personal help them along the way this approach with work no matter what niche the site is

Thank you for you’re response Blake! I am writing this down now. I really appreciate your help.

Hi - this is really applicable when you are in the training stage. It is very in-depth, and it's not recommended that you follow the OEC training (which is for individual niches), and the BootCamp training (which is for WA promotion) at the same time. Decide which one to start with and get your website up and running as a first step.
Reply
I agree that is the best course of action. Thank you so much for this information

Yes, there are those of us that are doing both. Unless you already have a large following and can get by on name recognition, so-called "mixed" sites typically don't work very well. Generally, you want to keep them separate -- with one exception I'll explain in a minute.

Put yourself in your reader's shoes. They do a Google search for, say, bass fishing. They come to your site because you are BassFishingDotCom. But as soon as they arrive, they see that half the articles there are about WA and/or making money online in general. What is their likely response? Experience has taught us that they will likely bounce because that is not what they came there for. Will you find the occasional person that is interested? Sure. But most will not. They are not your target audience.

So, instead, if you have a niche site, do as Blake suggested. Create a single page, have a small WA banner in your sidebar, or stick a subtle link in your footer. This will give you something unobtrusive for that handful that might be interested without alienating your regular audience, yet still allows you to really provide what your readers are looking for.

If you do decide you would like to do more, and really promote WA to the fullest, then create a separate website for that so you can attract the specific audience for people interested in online affiliate marketing.

Make sense?

Makes perfect sense! Thank you AJ for this insightful breakdown! This clears things up so much! I will focus on my niche for now until I am ready!

I recently joined a multi level marketing business and would want to sell their products off the website I build. However they have already given me a website where if customers buy from is where my profit generates, can I still make another website and have the purchases link lead them back to my already given website?

I can see no reason why you cannot do that. Insert the link in the same way that you would an affiliate link

The key when building a business online (or offline) is building a focused audience and brand through helping people within a certain niche. It is very difficult to make a product/service your niche and that is the reason people that are within MLM don't actually have a business, they are reliant on the MLM itself versus their own brand/foundation.

You are going to learn how to properly build a business online here at WA in any niche. Within that respective niche, you are going to be able to promote many different products (PRODUCT included). This will position you for much longer term success and a great deal of long term sustainability with your business.

If you can help people, you can create a long term business doing so.

I have a question.. I signed up for Wealthy Affiliate under a specific email that I use to keep my work at home emails organized, however I would prefer to have the email associated with my new web page to be specific to the website. If I edit that email on the website, does it also update the email associated with my WA account?

no they are two separate things. imagine what would happen when you add a second site....
if you want to change your email within your wa account - clik on your image at the top left and then on account settings.
you will now go to a page where you can edit your account settings.
I haven't changed mine - but clicknig the edit button gives you the option to change your email address.

Also, the domains I purchase - can they be used for any kind of website, or must they be for affiliate marketing purposes only? For example, if I already have a business that needs a website, can I use one from a domain I purchase here? Maybe I would add links as an affiliate, maybe not. Or what if I want to build an online store for a drop-ship business? Can the two be mixed? Affiliate marketing within my own online store website?

To answer your first question The chances to make money is high but only for the individuals that treat this as a business. It's the internet so money is out there

But it depends on the work you put in if it's dedicated valuable work then 6 mos to a year i would say a person can attain full time wages and more

To answer your 2nd question Yes your site is yours to do what you like within rules and guidelines of the internet. I have a site for my business and then i am working on an affiliate site

Wealthy Affiliate is a training platform to guide us in success with the perks of hosting, security, support, and much more

You purchase a domain name for what you need it. If you want to do a niche site, do affiliate marketing and direct sales that is ok.
Here you learn more about affiliate marketing than building an online store but I think everything is covered.
Most important for a website to get traffic is that you understand SEO and niche research and building content.

Yes in addition to Shannonkamal said, which is right, you can use your domain for anything, even an existing business :)

My question was regarding real statistics. I'd like to know how many people make a successful business this way, percentage-wise and approximately how long it takes to start making decent money. I'm not looking for get rich quick examples, I'd like a realistic idea of how much time vs return on investment, on average.
Reply

Hi, I think this is hard to say, most, I think about 90% never make any money with their website but this is due to that they stop trying before it works.
To learn affiliate marketing, website business SEO and making sales takes time like any profession.
Everyone that keeps at it will finally make money. How much again depends a lot on the effort made, the niche and the system they use.
Reply
I love what Jerry Huang has to say about motivation. Most of us newbies are here with the mindset of "get rich quick." I have realized after many attempts that the only get rich people are those that offer the product rather than the service.
I am looking through comments so will post more observations and questions as I thread through this weave.

I don't think there is ever really a "get rich quick" idea without the work to go along with it. Even if the idea is spectacular, it still takes work to get that idea rolling along. This is just my humble opinion, I could be absolutely wrong lol

Hey all,
So while watching this training video and reading over the information about niche, I was thinking about my dog the whole time. I found my Lab online while I was in de mobilization status in TX, I spent two days at home in CA before driving out to MO to pick him up from the breeder. Since I've had him, I've researched on all the puppy training that I possibly could. The cost of a dog trainer is e-x-p-e-n-s-i-v-e and not only that, training is #1 bonding with your dog. I didn't want to pay thousands of dollars for someone else to bond with MY dog! So I was thinking about creating a website around training your own puppy and share all the information that I've learned, promote the training products that I've used (treat bag, eCollar, dummy duck etc...) as well as books on puppy/dog training, and what my pup has taught me along the way.

Does this sound like a good niche? What are your thoughts?

Dog training could work, maybe do some research on the ease of ranking keywords in Google, check out the competition already out there.

MCB,
Thanks for the reply and insight. Do you mean keyword research? Keywords that users would enter into the search engine (Google, Bing...) then websites come up with closest match. Maybe I haven't got to that part of the training. I'm sure there's something up ahead that explains keywords and ranking.

Thanks!

Something along the lines of DIY Black Lab puppy/dog training. My Lab will be 1 year old at the end of May and his name is Toby. lol. The vision that I have for the site is that I will explain all of the steps that I have learned and found that worked well in learning to train my dog without having to spend thousands of dollars on dog trainers and boarding schools. I'l display my own photos and videos of me and Toby doing the training and I'll promote the products and books that I've used all along the way.

Okay, so my question is a simple one. As my WA profile says I'm a curious person and with that comes along alot more failures than success however I'm also a family man and need to be able to provide for my family's needs as well so what happens if I need more time to determine if this helps or is just (sorry for the phrase) a waste of time or not a very good investment? I mean some people are on a tight budget and may need more than just a few days to upgrade if choose to.Again sorry for the phrase.

If you choose to upgrade within the first 7 days, it is offered at a discount of only $19. The monthly price after that is $49, although it is considerably cheaper to pay yearly.

You can cancel at any time, but there are no refunds.

Please be aware that this is not a get rich quick scheme, and takes time, effort and patience. Please have a look at the attached link below.

As a comment on the above post, I guess many of us struggled when we first tried to get set up. When I set up my first wordpress site it took me 3 days just to sort out the database and integrate it into the wordpress installation.

Then later I discovered there was a button within the control panel of the server that would do it all automatically. I won't mention some of the words that came out of my mouth.

However, I am still at it and now I can have a wordpress site up and running with a header image that I have created and at least one post in about half an hour.

Practice makes perfect. Lifelong learning is the key though.

I like being able to reflect back to being new at something and laugh.

Hi Guys, I am just getting started with your program and just got done listening to your second video "choose your Niche" I am very interested in the dog niche. I just got certified as a "Raw Dog Food" specialist and now I am in the process to find out how many people are interested in finding out how they can give their dogs a better life through better nutrition in feeding vs. what is available in the market as traditional pet food nutrition . My husband is very interested in the CBD niche and we would like to get a little feedback on the CBD products as it relates to a niche as far as marketing on line goes. Hemp just got legalized with the government to be able to now grow and process industrial hemp to convert to the different CBD products like oils, creams, pet products etc. We feel that the CBD market is just at the beginning with lots of future potential. Is it possible to market hemp and CBD products online and if so, what part of social media marketing would you implement to market CBD products? We are to understand that most online marketing companies like google, facebook, amazon, ebay, etc. will not let you market CBD products including payment systems like paypal will not let you accept payments for these products.
How do you feel about this market in the present time, is it doable? Looking forward to getting set up and making money!! Thank you . Jutta

I am not certain on the legal aspects of CBD products but as far as a niche I think it's a great idea. Working as an affiliate marketer guiding customers to other's products may mean you won't have to worry about the payment end of it since you'll just be earning the commission by sending customers to others. If you wanted to design and market your own product down the line, you then would need to answer those questions but as far as affiliate marketing I think that is a very doable niche.
Thanks, Shannon

The video really shows how its important to start thinking about a niche. For instance I like becoming an affiliate with Amazon.

When at the same time I'm wondering how becoming an affiliate with WA would affect my desirable income in the future. What % could be expected from the affiliate program.
Reply

You will be able to become an affiliate of many different programs, amazon being one of them.

This doesn't have much to do with your niche, as within any niche there are going to be 1,000's of products/services that you can promote across a myriad of affiliate programs.

The commission % range from program to program, some 2%, some up to 75%. It just depends on the program.

When searching for keywords on Jaxxy through WA (the Research button) or on the Jaxxy's official website, it wouldn't show me the QSRs automatically unless I click "Get QSR" which is displayed directly under KQI. Well if you are looking to create and grow a business the PROPER way online, you are in the right place.

I have spent some time breaking down the process in the most simplistic way possible. Success online is at the core a 4 step process and I have broken them down within this video: Broken, down, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Choose your niche
Step 2: Build your website/content
Step 3: Get rankings in search engines (leads to traffic)
Step 4: Monetize your traffic (the make money part, through affiliate programs, etc!)

This applies in absolutely every niche and as you work through the training here at WA, you are going to be walked through this exact process. This is fundamental for ANY success online.

If you have any further questions let me know Jason. :)

I did do about 7 searches choosing words that are related to my niche. Couldn't find a lot though that met the keyword criteria. Is that normal depending on my niche?

Sometimes you just have to keep trying different combinations and phrases until you find keywords that meet the criteria. Remember the goal initially is to find keywords that are not competitive so that you can rank quickly and start to gain authority.

Then once you've done that, you can start to target the higher competition keywords.

Ok, so I don't like trickery, but the video shows that the basic keyword search is available to starters and premium members, and according to the video (approx 4:20) it shows the QSR as being shown to beginning members, but then when you go and use it, there's no QSR listed, making the list ineffectual in regards to the instruction. Then when I went in and typed a keyword and looked at the results, when I hit the bottom to view the list, it charged me for another hit on the list. This is not straight forward. If you're going to give a taste of the actual product, you can't do so without actually giving access to the information. So, it's basically useless unless you pay a fee.
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
Whoa... slow down. You have access, so no point in getting upset until you have the facts.

Kyle is using the Enterprise version of Jaaxy in the video. It does everything automatically. When you are doing as much keyword research as him, you will likely need it to. However, it is a paid service and you don't need that at this level.

Included with your membership is the Lite version. You have to do everything manually, but it is still all there. Find the keyword you are interested in and scroll over to the QSR column. Click on the link that says "Get QSR" and it will pull the number for that keyword.

Perhaps you misunderstood, but the lite version of Jaaxy requires you to actually click on the blue highlighted Get QSR link of the keywords you want the numbers to. Many people have made this mistake, but Jaaxy works perfectly and there's no trickery or any fee's with the lite version.

Yes, I understand the process now. Thank you. But I did my first search and thought I did something wrong because of the missing information, so I x'd out of that one and did a new one, to which by instruction by others and yourself, was able to click on the proper link to uncover the information. My question pertains to the first search I did. Is that saved that I can go back and view the information, or is that lost forever since I x'd out of it?

I have a question about WordPress headings. When I first write my article, I write it using SiteContent, and there I have 4-6 headings.

When I publish the article and want to edit it, I notice that WordPress Content Structure is showing 0 headings.

Why is this happening and should I do something about that ?

Hey Nat, Don't be to concerned ok. If you use 'templates" within "wordpress". and write within that platform, then it will give you basic guidelines to follow within your content structure.
hope that helps you.

Not sure why that is but you can login into your WP Admin area from Site Manager and edit your headings there.

The other option is just write directly in the back end of your site instead of using Site Content. I always use my site instead of Site Content.

The advantage of site content is the goal setting and free image search, but you can still search those images out in Site Content and then download to your PC or laptop first then upload to your site via "Add Media" button while you're in edit mode of your posts.

I hope this helps a bit,

In the very first page I stumbled on, you shared the hard, cold truth that most fail at making money with internet business. Do you have a success rate percentage for your program? Also, if I steadily work through this training and apply it to build websites, is there an average length of time I can expect to start earning good money? Any ratios you can share on time/money investment to earnings would be helpful. I do understand it takes time and work. Thanks!
Reply

That question is a tough one because everyone works at a different pace and they all have different websites. Once committed here and you complete all of the training you can start seeing decent traffic in under 6 months. The money would depend on the products and how effective your content might be. 12% Upgrade here at WA, not sure on total platform success because there's people that have been here over ten years and WA has 1.5 million. This platform will teach you the process and how to succeed if you're premium.

Hi, I am new to this site and using the free starter version. I just finished editing the privacy policy and published it to my site, but after following all the instructions in the video and following along, I noticed that the Privacy Policy on the website is different than the one I edited.
It has multiple headings listed between some of the paragraphs with nothing underneath them, and the paragraphs have different content than the ones I was shown in the template. Did I do something wrong, and if so, how can I fix it?

Just replace with your infos everywere, it is ok. I had the same thing when i did it.

Just an FYI, I am unable to watch the video (sad face). Here is the message that shows on the video for me “media playback aborted due to a corruption problem or the media used features your browser does not support”. That was very interesting. However, to use an old English expression,"I really can be as thick as mince!". So here I am questioning whether or not I should attempt this. I am here in China, teaching for the first time, I realize I have the same problem here as I do back home. I don't earn enough to do the things I want.

Is this something that is doable while in China? Would earning money work with a PayPal account?

YouTube is definitely a worthy investment (if you are aiming at that). Here at WA main focus is writing, but we are encouraged to make videos also, so I think you could fit well.

Why not make a video and then write it down what you were talking? I think that would be a good way to create your talking to text and make your articles :)

Tell me what you think of that idea and did it help? Or you still have doubts?

Wow, that ended quite abruptly. From the posts I found of WA while job searching, I was under the impression that everything needed to get your business up and working was included in free membership. Not just the fundamentals of getting the website up. While I truly believe in this program, with a small monthly SSI disability income I just can't afford $49 a month. Maybe in the future. I wish everyone luck on their journey. I hope one day I'll be able to return.

You can. You have fundamental knowledge about everything needed to build your business and get it rolling: choosing a niche, having a FREE website, choosing keywords and researching them, writing quality content, making pages and posts, menu...

In essence, that is everything you need.

Hi Monica

Don't give up, as Dalibor said you have the core knowledge to keep building out your site. You can write blog posts using keywords and just keep adding to your site until you can afford to go Premium.

None of that will be wasted and you will be so much further advanced with your business when you can upgrade.

My best wishes to you, no matter what you chose.

I can understand your frustration which relates to your condition and truely sorry to hear that.

Although I am new not only to this community but also to the whole internet money making scheme all I can understand nothing is free and easy in this world - but with WA they will guide you every step of the way in making it happen (that is your internet store and ideas to be successful in online making money). Of course, beyond that is up to the person him/herself what they want to do with their website.

Trust me, I have gone through so many things in my past in order to be successful of what I was doing at the time, however, it never happens until I found this site where I starting to believe that I might have found the light of my life in it through WA as they slowly proving themselves on what they have promised after been following their recommendation - ie. support.

All I can say is hang in there and try working out what people’s need when they shop online. Easiest way to find out is by communicate to your surrounding if they do online shopping and what do they buy. Then, from there you decide what you want do sells your website while you putting out your very own personalised website to suit then grow from there.

Like I said, I am still new but this is what I will do for myself and believe nothing is better than knowing the needs of your own people that live around you as a whole,

I hope this help and wish you all the very best on your journey whichever side you going to choose.

Cheers,
Rueby.

Hi everyone! Question: I am not sure whether to target my business worldwide. My niche is upcoming in the Netherlands, although money earning wise (availability of affiliate programs) is more limited plus of course in comparison a relatively narrow target audience. Certainly insecure about my writing skills in English, thinking I will be unable to create quality content in a non-native language.

Any advice? Would love to target the Dutch audience. However is it wise to start with, during this learning phase (support/feedback/chance of succes-wise)?
Would love to hear your thoughts😊
Reply
Zasibel Premium
I would say that it would be a good idea to try your native language first in the learning phase. You can then get more comfortable about how the online world works etc. You can always build on to that specific niche and broaden it later on. As for the affiliate programs, it does not matter if for example i'ts based in US. I mean, when I look at Amazon, its US, but I know many South Africans who also purchase from them online. So you could still have customers purchasing from your site even if you are in a different country. Hope I make sense. This is just my personal opinion though. Let's see what others think as well 😊 All the best!
Reply
Otrera Premium
Thanks so much for your advice. It will be a little more easy to start in my native language. Actually, Amazon doesn't ship to the Netherlands (or with ridiculous high shipping cost). That was the one of the main reasons why I hesitated. However, as you mentioned, I can always broaden it later and first look at the possibilities here. 🙏🙏

Did you make that your "top menu" within the settings. Naming it Top Navigation won't put it there, you have to set that menu as the Top within the drop down options in the menu creator.

When I open my website I have 2 pages of the Policy Page. I missed out initially on the NOindex and Nofollow tag. So went to edit that Page and after publishing saw 2 pages . Can this be corrected please?

Yes. The WordPress platform comes with a default policy page. So, just take a look at both of them and see which one you wrote and which one is the generic page that came with it and delete it.

I've had that happen myself. I think some themes may be including a policy page automatically.

Log into your websites wordpress dashboard. Go to pages tab. Simply delete the one that you do not want.

If you have all-in-one SEO installed, edit the page that you want to change to noindex, no follow.

Is it okay if our niche is kind of broad? For my first niche, I’m interested in women’s health and beauty. Period products, medications, diet and exercise, makeup, skincare, bath and body. Maybe sexual wellness if that’s allowed. I realize it’d be my website that I’d be making but I didn’t know if that kind of thing would be inappropriate for this community. I want my first website to be a place that can help woman feel good about themselves.
Reply
ericcantu Premium
The reason you want to be specific with your niche is for conversions. In other words, if your website was about something broad like "women's health" you could have people showing up for a multitude of reasons but not finding what they were looking for. However, if your site was about something specific like skincare for women in their 40's, well now you have a very targeted audience arriving at your website and the potential for them to find what they're looking for is very high, meaning high conversions.
Reply
BeckBeck823 Premium
Ohhh okay! I think I’ll stick to period products to start with. There’s so much out there and every girl and woman can relate. What do you think?
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
First of all, anything can be a good niche depending on how you spin it. Those are all popular topics, which is good, but it also means they are the most competitive as well.

That's why we teach to niche "down" to something much more specific. It's far easier to rank for and find traffic. So-called “just a little bit of everything” sites like you're proposing almost never work unless you already have an audience.

When selecting a niche, I always recommend going with what you are most passionate about. One tip that has always helped me is to look at it this way:

Pick something that excites you. You are going to be creating a lot of content over time, with little reward in the beginning, so what topic (niche) would you talk about most, even if you weren't getting paid for it?

For instance, my niche is the topic of writing. I am constantly talking about it and helping others with their writing, have done so for years, and up till now never made a dime at it; I just enjoy it and love sharing that passion with others. In other words, I can't imagine NOT talking about writing.

The only difference now is that I am sharing it in the form of a blog that I have monetized.

Put some time and thought into this. If you choose something you aren't excited about, you will likely burn out long before you get enough content out there to be successful.

Hope this helped. :-)
Reply
BeckBeck823 Premium
Out of all of the topics I wanted to talk about, period products are probably my biggest thing. I know it probably sounds weird that I get excited over that kind of thing but it’s something I have to deal with once a month, every month. Over time I’ve come to find my favorites but I’m still exploring that world and finding even more favorites. Period products are a necessity so I think I could get a lot of traffic if I try hard enough.
Reply
AJTrimble1 Premium
Perfect!

And don't worry if it sounds "weird". In fact, that's precisely what makes it a great niche... most women need it; but it's such an uncomfortable topic to talk about for most people, there is likely little competition. You won't know for sure, however, until you do your research.

Now start brainstorming some keywords you might go after and run them in the Research Tool. Once you've identified the ones with good numbers, make a master list of posts you can write for each keyword. And don't forget to check out the competition. Plug those keywords into Google and see what you're up against.

I think you're on to something here :-)
Reply
BeckBeck823 Premium
Thank you sooo much for you help! I will definitely use that research tool. I’ve never understood why that’s such a taboo thing to talk about but I think it needs to be talked about. I’ve googled things about that before and found little to no answers because no one ever talks about it. And if they do, it’s the same exact thing that everyone else says. I want to be able to help girls and women with the things I had to figure out for myself.

And my second query is, my niche is apparels and in my website I have mentioned Mr and Mrs that mean I have to focus on both I.e: men and women. In this scenario do I have to focus only at one or will be okay both.

Awaiting for response,

Hi, Mukhtarul.

I could not find inside WA platform a way to change the website link, it could be possible to change directly at your wordpress platform, the question is if it will automatically change at WA?

Another alternative is to create a new one and delete the older, as it could seem a lot work, it'll be also more experience for you as in "pratice, pratice a pratice", right?

As for your second, "apparels" seems to be too broad of a category, it could be hard to maintain specially if you are begining.

What I would do is focus on a smaller segment like party dresses for women or sport clothes for men, of course that you should choose something related to what you have first intented.

As you gain more experience you can advance to another niche, and another, until you cover the full spectrum.

I hope that helps as I'm too in the beginning, any criticism to my approach is very welcome.

And sorry for my english as it's not my mother tongue. 🤓

Cheers from Brazil!

Don't worry about upgrading. That can always come later when you are ready. The main thing is to walk through the lessons to understand how to make your website. I learned the hard way...created a website too soon...I know it appears to be one of the first things you need to do, however, I had to conduct my own research, outside of WA, to learn how others were using the Affiliate Programs. The more knowledge I gained, the more questions I had circling around in my head. I have just chosen my website name and finally decided on which WP Them I wanted to use...after needing to delete the first one that I selected.

Also, don't be afraid to upgrade if you need to. It's only $19 the first month, you can cancel after that if you want, and you will have a full month to really dig in and see if this is for you. :-)

Don't upgrade until you are ready. Just keep going through level 1 until you understand. Make good use of the next couple of days to ask relevant questions and take action on the answers.
When you have got your head around everything, then upgrade for even more training and community access.
You can stay a starter member as long as you need but you must log in and work on the training.

Am I going in the right direction with this course, or should I be doing the other course for WA. Now doing this I will have to buy alot of domain names, and building alot of different sites. I'am just wondering if this is a good choice, versus just doing stuff for one main product or brand?

I think you have a good idea in the niche. However, come up with a plan to set them all within the "digital products" and create one or two domains. Once your start create more domains, you now have more to work on everyday.

Also, you may lose focus on getting traffic and SEO pointed in your direction. Think of it like traveling to a location, there are many different routes to travel.

How many can you travel at once?
If you try to travel multiple directions, the confusion and misdirection will increase your travel time.
But if you focus one direction. The trip will be forward with less confusion and hopefully less time.

As far as I have been through training videos and understand instead of multiple niche I should focus on one, otherwise I will get confused and will not be able to learn process.

Need suggestion from you all.

Hi - yes, you should just have one niche per website. You wish to be seen as an authority in your subject, not somebody who "dabbles" in lots of things.

Plus, you will confuse your visitors. If I go to your site to read about football, I don't want to see articles on men's clothes. I would soon leave, then you have lost a potential customer.

I already have purchased a subdomain to my primary blog for single parents. I am intending to create an online shopping mall for parents using this website. Is it okay if I use your training for a site which is not within your network? That does not mean I will not promote you. I will definitely do that!

Of course. Wealthy Affiliate's primary "mission" is educating new entrepreneurs. Thus, you can certainly use what you learn here to create and/or improve any website. :-)

Hello everyone, I have begun creating content for my website. I just finished the last lesson/tasks. (Level 1, lesson 7) I had a little difficulty in typing up the first section of my page(my device), looking for feedback on the way it looks so far.
Is there a way for people here to look at my website and provide feedback on what ive accomplished so far? (Still early in process, but any feedback will help.) When choosing my domain name, i accidentally spelled a word incorrectly and noway to fix that now, but in terms of readability please let me know what you think.
Thank you

I'm not sure if others here can acess my page. If that's the case, disregard my question.

Of course. Just use the link Laurie provided and plenty of members would be happy to take a look. And don't worry that it's early in the process. It's never too soon to seek other's input; it'll help you stay on track :-)

Hi Kayla,

thanks for your question.

You can request feedback for your website from other WA members here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/website-feedback

And here: Just keep in mind that those who give you feedback might be just starting out their journey in WA. So take the feedback always with a little bit of grain of salt. Some members who give feedback may also be experienced members.

Let's keep in touch!

Thank you for the reply, I didnt realise you couldn't add links without being a premium member.
However, still looking forward to completing the training.

Hi .. I am new here, just joined and I am going through training, I am total begginer in affiliate marketing even though I have my own website which I created on wordpress 1 year ago and I know what Affiliate marketing is and proces behind it but I never started because I am overwelmed with informations and just been searching for something like this to get me started on the whole process because I dont think I can do it alone, so what is your advice please? Should I shut down my website in wordpress and focus just here in nww one ? Any advice please?

You don't have to use the website platform here if you don't want. You can use an existing site that you already have set-up with the training here or you can start fresh.

Sometimes with an existing site there may be some things that you have done in the past that could be hurting your rankings (backlinks, spun content, duplicate content, low quality content), so starting fresh and doing things properly from the start can be advantageous. But this is totally up to you.

Either way, I am here to help you along the way Sasa!

i know that I'm super behind, but I thought that I had completed these tasks a few times, especially the "About Me" post. However, when I click on "Training" it continues to come back to this. I will do the About Me and Privacy Policy again, but apparently there must be something that I'm not doing completely. If I'm supposed to click on the check marks in the Tasks boxes after completion of tasks, please let me know because I thought that the check marks would automatically be entered. Hopefully it will work this time. Thanks!

Hi - Yes, you have to check the tasks off yourself.

Ok. I've been repeating things because I thought I didn't complete every step. Thanks for telling me!
