OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a video walking you through the SiteRubix platform here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

DISCUSS VIDEO: Create a Website in Under 30 Seconds

Task 1: Building Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to less than 30 seconds to get a full operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host up to 2 FREE websites as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 25 free websites and the ability to create 25 sites on your own domains (total 50 websites). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you may own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choose a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.stierubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to 12, hand picked quality designs.

As a though you will have access to over 2,464 designs (as shown below) or your website. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

Hello, where ideally should the privacy menu be please, I have seen on many websites there is no link to it, like mine doesn't. Some have it at the bottom of their website. Some have it where Kyle has put his. I don't want it on the menu bar personally.

I was hoping on starting a niche that has to do with either skin care or electronics'. i know both have heavy floods of traffic. For electronics I mean new gen electronics(phones, tablets, laptops, even accessories) I just don't know if those things are narrow enough. And as for Skin care I mean facial and hands, simple body parts, any help on deciding if its narrow enough or not enough
Reply
MsMerry Premium
You might want to narrow down the skin care a bit more. Like a specific type of facial or facial product. There are things like the derma wand and others similar which would be different than creams and oils. Just a thought. You are correct that both are very popular.
Reply
say, for electronics I update on new releases and such. benefits of technology and comparing different models of a brand name product, how and what part of technology advertisement would I implement. For example, say I am comparing the new iPhone models compared to say models from 2 years ago, what advertising would I include in my page for a person who just finished reading comparisons of old and new models for IPhone
Reply
and as for facial products, say I wanted to earn commission of sales from amazon, how would I contact amazon to set up a system where I get paid for selling their product.
Reply
disregard the amazon subject, I looked up amazon products +affiliate program
Reply
you may be on to something with the electronics since there is always something new on the market

Advice for all from the beginner user ;-) Find "niche" and advertise in places where people eagerly reach for a given product (do not advertise eletronics, where we are talking about healthy eating) The first and the simplest niche is to promote the program itself " wealthyaffiliate "I have some experience in making money online, so for me the beginnings will be simpler. Best wishes and good luck ;-)

Yeah, you want to keep it relevant and work to become an expert in your given niche. That is the goal, you can have several niche websites down the road you can be involved in many different niches.

Remember, your goal is to become and authority and expert in any niche you head and this is what will happen naturally as you build out your website.

I'm having a hard time finding keywords that have high enough traffic for my niche. Most times the ones I'm looking for don't top 20 in traffic. My website is for people who want to know how to eat sustainably and ethically, in ways that improves the food industry and our environment. Any thoughts on good keywords/topics?
Reply
MozMary Premium
I've been having that same problem in some of my niches that are specialized, I think it is about thinking outside the box

break down eating sustainably into all its components, into the things people need for that and see if you can talk about any of those, same with ethically

I know it is a brilliant niche

but when you say 'in ways that improves the food industry and our environment' at that point you are going broad, if you were to target 'improving the food industry' you'd be looking at different key words, same with environment

maybe think about all the things you would write in the different categories, then go back and look at the keywords
Reply
TimMcKinlay Premium
Hi Kiley,

I recommend researching the top 5-10 websites that produce content that is relevant to your niche (eating sustainably and ethically). This is sure to spark some ideas. Get immersed in your niche as much as you can, and break it down into it's main categories.

Here is one example keyword to start with....

- "What is Ethical and Sustainable Food" (on it's own, doesn't appear to be a good keyword, but it is. The keywords "What is Sustainable Food" and "What is Ethical Food" are good keywords and ones you can potentially rank for by writing an article about "What is Ethical and Sustainable Food".

- "How To Eat Sustainably"
- "Eating Ethically" gets searches, but not such a great keyword on it's own. But "How To Eat Ethically On a Budget" will potentially rank for both keywords.

You could also offer tips/ guides/ reviews on the following main categories of content within your niche...

- Locally Sourced Produce
- Seasonal Produce
- Seasonal Recipes
- Ethically Eating (Meat, Fish, and Dairy)
- Growing your Own Produce
- Sustainable Agriculture
- Food Processing & Distribution

Any one of the above topics could be broken down into 10's / 100's or even 100's of relevant keywords.

You could also talk about the issues facing the food industry in regards ethical and sustainable eating too. I found a site called Sustainable Table to be full of relevant info and could be helpful to you in coming up with content/ keyword ideas.

You might be surprised at just how many keywords there are within this space. It really just starts with breaking down the main categories, the broader topics, and then continuing to break it down from there.

Hope this helps! Cheers

I came into this pretty skeptically and trusted you to deliver something substantial. It is looking more and more AS IF this free builder, etc. will not deliver the necessary speed, analytics, etc. for success without upgrading. Your training so far is very time laborious for the amount of quality information. Can you convince me that you are going to become a better teacher and not waste so much of my time when I go PREMIUM?

Hi there,
I'm quite new here and I totally understand your concern. The question is directed to the author I believe, but I would like to give my view as one who had similar concerns and upgraded afterwards.

I'm not sure anyone here can really convince you, that will probably be a decision you will make yourself while at WA.
What I can say though is that this is an awesome community, with simple and relevant teachings quite easy to apply with a certain amount of dedication. Most of the people here from what I gather started with their own skepticism too, but decided to try it out and became successful.

My experience so far as a premium member is being really awesome, more access, more tools, and it just pushes me towards more involvement in building my future and my own success in the online world. Which at the end of the day, is what it's all about. Using the tools of WA to reach a desired success.

Going premium is an investment I make, now investments can turn out good or bad, and I believe after what I've seen in this short time period since upgrading is that everything is in place for a successful investment, whether it will actually be so is in my own hands. Hope this helps. :-)

How unfortunate for you..I understand the skepticism, as I have been there and done that one..I came into this full of hope, and my hope is delivering. I am quite happily, and gratefully bombarded with help, ideas, and links. I've got grace comin out my yin yang at this place. I've never been so impressed, on the one hand, especially with the warm wishes too, and on the other, I've never been so full of hope. Hope is very attractive. I've been uplifted so much, I had to go premium to keep up with myself. I'm way to excited to let this go. I've already started two sites, and a blog, finished a few lessons and tasks, and the ideas are actually starting to manifest. Not bad for under three days. I've said it a few times now, that the only thing I actually ever changed about myself, was I stopped being afraid. Everything else seems to just fall into place. Not only is my hope obvious now to me, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger too. And I understand the laborious sense too. Skepticism is exhausting. I'll tell you what helped me, through some super challenging situations. Check out You are creators videos..on youtube..there are many..awesomeness! You really are. Please stick around, and let me know if I can help you in any way, i will, and so will others. Smiles

With regards to the theme, if you go to Appearance then Theme in your Wordpress admin, you will see the theme that is active as it will say 'Active' and you may see a button labelled 'Customise'. Do you see this?
Reply
GGrier Premium
Hi,
It's possible you just need to activate your theme. In WordPress dashboard go to "Appearance" then "Themes". You can see there what theme is active and what other themes you have installed.

Your menu issue is a bit confusing. You may have to redo it in a new theme anyway, so take I'd care of the theme first.

When making a Menu the most confusing part is that you have to name it first and save before you can add pages. I just realized though that maybe you just need to make your Menu the "Primary Menu" to get it to show up at the top of your webpage.

I just published my Privacy page following all steps and when I scroll down to my website, I still see "the comments section". I published it as a "Page".
Also, I don't see the Privacy link anywhere on my site. I don't see a Home link either. I could access the page from the SiteContent page but can't see it on my site.
I am using the New Shop Theme.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi,
You'll likely just need to set up a menu to see your pages.
Go to "Appearance" then "Menus". Name and save a menu then you will be able to check the pages you want on the menu and add them. Make it your "primary menu" to see it at the top of your site.

For the comments you can go to "Pages" "All pages" and mouseover the page in the list. Choose "Quick edit" and you can uncheck the comments. Save it then refresh your website.

Ok question here but a little history first. I did my privacy policy first and didn't like it, couldn't make the change I wanted in WordPress, so I deleted it through WordPress. I redid it through site content and it is perfect now. Did my About page - perfect. But for some reason now when I go back into site content, I now have under the unpublished tab, I still have the privacy policy showing. Is that because I fixed it so I did not have the original "...if you require any more information" taken out of the title?

And under the published tab now it shows I have 2 privacy policies, even though there is only one in WordPress. Is there a way for me to fix this?

Hi,
Someone with more knowledge of Site Content may elaborate on this, but for now I'd say don't worry about it.

What matters is what you see in WordPress and therefore what displays on your website.

Site Content is a content creation tool that pushes the content to WordPress.

Wordpress does not communicate back to Site Content about changes you made once the content is in WordPress. This would apply to things you delete also.
Reply
MozMary Premium
I agree with GGrier, it is nothing to worry about. Sitecontent tends to count things, and when you publish and write a lot of stuff you won't even notice those things. Wordpress certainly isn't worried about that, glad you got your pages/posted sorted the way you wanted :)

Hello Everyone, I joined WA yesterday and finished all the lessons on Level 1. I see that I have to upgrade to Premium membership to go to the next step. My questions are

1. Can you succeed without upgrading to premium membership?
2. Are you allowed to cancel your subscription anytime?
3. What do you need to do to succeed on this platform?
4. Is anyone willing to share an example of their sites?

Sorry for the many questions but I want to know I am making the right decision before I make any purchase.

1. Truth is not a chance, in fact premium here is only just the first step. Rest will be your creativity and your dedication and your luck.
2. If you're on monthly then yes but I think it's much much more affordable to take the yearly plan and this is a Long term commitment. No business was ever built in 1 to 3 months. You could see results in 6 to months to a year.
3. Use this platform as a stepping stone and get your feet wet. Ask lots of questions from the right people. Do your own research out of this platform as well. Basic coding which will take you. 2weeks would help. You can learn this for free at codecademy.
4. Nearly no one truly making good money on their niche sites will show here because there are a lot of pros here and they don't want more competition. It's not hard to just Google any niche site and see that they rank and they're making money. You can use those as examples.

This should answer all your questions.

There are so many resources here at WA that there have been a couple times where I had to step back and evaluate where I was and if I hadn't been convinced this platform would work, I would have given up. And I've only been here since Nov. 21. My advice would be take your time and make certain you understand as much as possible as you go through the training. Absorb it!
I make money on the lighters that I sell already, but I'm convinced that if I'd joined WA 3 months ago my site would be generating something by now. Holler if you need anything.

you can cancel the monthly at any time

you could go to the profiles of the prominent members like Kyle or magistudios and see the sites they have made available for people to see, you can take a look at newbie ericcantu who has shared his site, you will get to know many others whose sites are available too, many of the superaffiliates

the emphasis here is on affiliate marketing, not fancy design, they aim more for traffic and sales than the bells and whistles

Premium is worth it, but it does take effort and mastery to work through all the lessons, it is not a get rich quick scheme

you cannot go back down to starter after being premium because all the training gets unlocked

So here is my current situation. I’m not someone to normally post about my personal issues but at this point I’m desperate to find away to make extra money. I’m hoping it’s ok that I post this here, if not please let me know and I’ll delete.
As my profile states I am a mother to 3 teenagers , I have a 17 year old daughter that’s a senior in high school and 14 year old twin boys that are in the 8th grade. I have been married for 17 years to my best friend, but about 7 months ago he walked out the door and left me for another women while I was working my second job. I was raised by my grandparents as I lost my mother at the age of 8 and never had a father. My grandparents always taught me to never depend on anyone. I’ve been In the real estate business for over 16 years and have done well up until this year. The real estate market here in Texas has been tough due to the oil crash and hurricane Harvey. Needless to say when my husband left me he left me with .94 cents to my name and 3 kids to feed and keep a roof over their heads. I’m on the verge of losing my car and my home (something I’ve worked very hard for, for the past 17 years) . I must find away to start making some extra income to help keep my home and my car while the real estate market bounces back. I’m not asking for anyone to feel sorry for me at all, I’m hoping with me sharing my story it will show that I’m willing to put in the work that’s need to become successful online. I just need a little guidance. I’m a very hard worker in fact I’m laying in bed with the flu but still on my computer working my real estate deals and trying to get this business going. Thanks in advance for any and all advice that is given.

We're here to help each other so you're most welcome.

The only thing is that creating a high ranking website with lots of visitors takes time. This is not a get rich quick way of earning instant cash unless you're trading stocks and shares.

f you have a good knowledge of internet marketing speak, I guess you will sail through the course outline.

The good thing is you have a good niche to write about right in front of you - real estate and how to survive a crash in the market.

I understand you are a person of principle, but as this is a family emergency, I would pray for divine connections to help you through this time.

What you probably need besides immediate cash for food, electricity and gas is some very understanding family or friends who could encourage you through this and not just give you sympathy but practical support...don't you think?

Kristina, let's take an overwhelming break. You're trying too hard to come up with a niche. Although a beard oil may be a good niche, Could you tell others you know about it and how well of a product it is? Let's stop for a minute and take a big breath. Now, to find a good niche for you. I was in the same boat trying to figure out what niche I was going to use. During the struggle of trying to come up with something I glanced over to the left of the page and seen Live Video Classes. So, I figured I would check it out. In doing so I found a series of videos on how to build a niche. This series 1 of 4 goes over every step of building a niche. Jay builds an actual niche from scratch and does it live. So you can see how he goes about making his niches and the process he goes through to find a good niche to cover. So, take a little brain break get some chicken soup. and go to the live video classes and search for (copy & paste in search window) 2017 LIve Case Study. Sit back sip on the soup and watch the videos, take good notes. While your watching and a product(s) pop into your head write it down (potential niches references). Then after the video series take a look at your notes and go from there. Here is the link to the first video Hope this helps. I will be praying for you. God Bless.

you have 2 free sites, social media, free affiliate links offering you commission [take a look at the free Bootcamp course] and even free Jaaxy as a starter member, so believe in yourself to earn that $19, and keep investing in yourself as you earn to learn more and go higher - many people are in here for free because they make commissions on sales with the knowledge they pick up in here

Hi Kyle, So before creating an account here at WA, I recently signed up as an affiliate with amazon. I then went over to facebook and created a page there prior to posting different types of merchandise such as law enforcement gear like belts, cuff cases, etc. I've attempted to talk with co workers about what im doing and evcen added them as "friends" on that page. The page I created is infact a secondary page linked to my primary facebook account but its not a personal account but rather a page corrisponding with amazon merchandise. I created the page about 3 weeks ago and have realized its not getting any trafficwhich why i'm here at WA. Im not understanding why that wasnt working.Thanx in advance

Well just creating a page on Facebook is not going to lead to traffic and promoting products from Amazon to your friends is not a viable way to build a business.

You are going to learn how to properly build a business here at WA and do so within any niche. The training is going to walk you through the process.

I have spent some time breaking down the process in the most simplistic way possible. Success online is at the core a 4 step process and I have broken them down within this video: Broken, down, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Choose your niche
Step 2: Build your website/content
Step 3: Get rankings in search engines (leads to traffic)
Step 4: Monetize your traffic (the make money part, through affiliate programs, etc!)

This applies in absolutely every niche and as you work through the training here at WA, you are going to be walked through this exact process. This is fundamental for ANY success online.

If you have any further questions let me know Jeremy. :)

That you have sir. Prior to joining WA I had no idea how simplistic this world can be. I believe I may have already come up with my choice of Niche. Plan is to work with, around and build according to my love and passion of computers and the technology involved. I must say. This is going to be an awesome field to learn and grow with. I do also plan on going premium with in the next few weeks or so. right now I'm just reading, watching your videos and learning ad I go. Much appreciated.

I notice that my own website link is on by default then there is Home but no privacy policy in the menu structure.
I can add 'about me' but how do I add the privacy policy?
Should I not have my website link listed in menu structure?

Hi Joseph,
A common issue is that when you go to add a new page or post into a menu, is that the default tab in the Appearance - Menus -
Edit Menus area, is the 'Most Recent' tab. You need to select the 'View All' tab and if it's published, your Privacy Policy should be there for you to add to your menu.

I'm guessing that doing this from your phone must be tricky? :-).

Hope that helps?

Thanks Sean,
You see what I really love and enjoy is Christianity and spreading the Gospel, but I can't get past not being comfortable making revenue from that.
The other thing I really enjoy is politics and baseball. I do not see how I can have a niche about those.
If I go through boot camp does that eliminate entirely my need for a niche at this time. I know I can do in the future.
I would love help from you if you have a niche idea for me.
I am putty in the hands of WA. I simply want to be successful with WA.
Feel free to let me know.
BTW, I still do not know what to do with the website I don't need anymore... I will wait for Kevin to reply.
In the meantime I guess I will chill.

No worries Joseph,
I can see how those niches might jar with you. But politics and baseball can certainly provide good niches. Forgive me, I'm from the UK so baseball isn't huge here :-). But i guess you have a favourite team? Maybe a niche about the history of that team, selling memorabilia and/or books off amazon. Maybe a break down of all the top players - again, with your reviews pointing to affiliate links on Amazon - for books, DVDs, and other memorabilia. Perhaps that team has an affiliate program for ticket sales or stadium tours? Trust me, I could go on and on :-). The same can be said for politics. There must be many books and DVDs on this niche - be that on Amazon or elsewhere.

As for your existing site, is it on a SIterubix sub domain? If so, you may be able to switch the sub-domain and use it for your next site - not 100% sure on that, you'd need to double check with support. If it's on a main domain then, short of deleting the site, you're stuck with it I think.

Thank you, Sean,
Wow, you really opened it up with all those possible combinations of things available for a niche. That is pretty cool.
I wanted to let you know as far as the Christian thing, I didn't want to leave the impression that I would ever charge someone to let them know the Gospel...No way !! What I was thinking about was artwork that I do...one is a replica of the ten commandments on two tablets written in proto or ancient Hebrew as was done by the finger of God on Mount Sinai, before Moses broke them.
Another is a simple 12" or 18" wooden cross with a 16" long replica of the shroud of Turin draped over the cross with the image of the face prominently displayed in front.
That is what I am having some reservations about, but I see ornaments like that everywhere in Christian bookstores and the like.
I have made both and have received much comment on them.
Here in the states the baseball game is highly licensed but I see opportunities the way you outlined them.
I am interested possibly in writing a blog for both Christianity and politics in the future as I get more experienced with WA.
I think my website is a siterubix site.
the end of the link is siterubix.com.
Does that tell you anything ?

I am sort of stuck, not sure what niche to do. I do think I should go through bootcamp, is that less money making than having my own niche for me, a newbie ?
BTW, I love the UK ! I really love the UK people. I had a friend from there for nearly five years, he and his wife and three kids, 2 boys and a girl. The way the children spoke was the most incredible thing I ever heard. They had such a mastery of the English language. They sounded like geniuses. I miss them, they moved back to the UK. They were special folks !

hi bronjon7, here's a thought, maybe you can keep your existing site open and use it as a practice or test site so you can continue with the lessons and become proficient at the skills of building a website until you come up with a niche. and when you come up with a niche do your research first and start writing BEFORE you start your real site. i think by having your content first you can organize how you want it to show up ( layout )on your site. this is important because TO pick a THEME IS NOT the PRETTY PICTURE that you look at. BUT IT IS the WAY the PAGES OF the theme are laid out. ANd your research here should be to do a google search for your niche terms -- Keywords and then look at those sites to see how they laid out their sites.. Not to copy but to give you and idea(s) of what your homepage should look like . One column, two column, three column,One third two thirds a lot of images only one or two. I think theme (page ) layout is VERY important Good Luck and Merry Christmas stawhu

Dear Stawhu, Thank you so much for your input, that was prescient of you since that is what I decided to do. I , in the interest of accomplishing what I start, decided to continue with my lesson and go through the exercise of building my site. I continued with lesson eight and completed it, and now I am on lesson 9.
I have to do the Keywords on Jaxxy. I understand that I am a premium member now and so I must get Jaxxy lite in order to complete lesson nine. Therefore I must pay $19 a month for Jaxxy lite, I think I am right. Otherwise I can't complete lesson 9.
I will be ready to obtain Jaxxy lite tomorrow so my lesson is on hold for now. Unless I am wrong. IDK. If I would have waited a few extra days to go premium I would have been able to complete lesson 9 with Jaxxy starter, then take advantage of going premium. Anyway, no big deal, as I am happy I went premium and I will get Jaxxy lite because an investment in my future is worthwhile.
I will build up my website and follow the guidance and hopefully make it great.
Stawhu, I am so happy that I found WA and everyone here has been a great encouragement to me making everyday here alot of fun and quite exciting.
Thank you once again for your help and I look forward to hearing from you again. BTW, I'm sorry it took so long to answer you.
Actually, I have to go do some errands all day today yet I really want to stick around WA and do my lessons and chat and learn.
So... Merry Christmas to you and your family and Happy New Year.

Course1, Lesson 6, if you scroll to the bottom of the lesson portion of the page, to the keyword settings screen shot...if you have time to change the screen shot to show the 'enabled' as the one that is checked, it would mirror what you taught in your video portion. For me, when I finished watching the video and then scrolled through the rest of the page to ensure I was completing everything before moving to the next lesson, I was scratching my head when I got to that screen shot, because I could swear that on the video, you'd said to check enabled there before clicking the update button. And by golly, I went back into the video and this IS what you taught, ha! Small thing, but I think that 'enabled' button is pretty important in the grand scheme of setting up the website, right? I could be wrong...

Here goes, I have tried but failed to find the way to get to the page that has the two NOFOLLOW & NOINDEX icons in order to check them off. I have been using my Android phone for this and haven't had a problem with it so far.
I wonder if that's the problem.

I go to Site Manager, it says to get into my back office after I'm done with privacy page publish.

So I did go to Site mgr and it says when I am within the editor of this page I should scroll down the page.

That's the problem I can't find that page !

Hello DValentine, I thank you for responding to my question. I had to run a bunch of errands today which interfered with my lesson plans. I will continue with them as soon as I can.
D. I must say I am truly computer illiterate and it really bugs me for I make things harder then it has to be, and causes me a great deal of frustration.
Your instructions for finding those tick boxes in the All In One SEO plugin seemed like I understood until I hit the SEO button and four or so choices came up and general was the only one that had what I was looking for. I found a heading that said
FOUND NO INDEX SETTINGS. with a sub-heading that said:
? DEFAULT TO NOINDEX with four choices post, pages, media and
oEmbed Responses
Same thing underneath for
? DEFAULT TO NOFOLLOW with same four choices

It looked nothing like what Kyle taught at the end of lesson 7
so I didn't touch them.
I am using my Android phone to do all this and maybe that's an issue, IDK.
Anyway, as I say, I am sure I am making it more difficult cause it sure seems like it should be easy.
What is throwing me is that Kyle said after I publish the privacy policy I should log into my back office using my site mgr or site content and WITHIN the editor (?) scroll down and find the
?Robots Meta NOINDEX. and the
?Robots Meta NOFOLLOW tick boxes.
What is confusing me is it seems specific for the privacy policy.

I am not going to worry about it anymore tonight and will pick it up again tomorrow.
On to my lessons and I really do appreciate your help and I am sorry for writing a book here.
Thank you very much DValentine

however Boomergp08/Robert has some really excellent training on the WA keyword tool, and Kyle and many people ranking on page 1 say it is excellent for keywords

The process of looking for a niche seems tougher than I thought only because it is a vast world out there and as a newbie, all I can think of is - "how am I going to figure out what most people are looking for?". Don’t overthink the niche idea. It can be a hobby or a passion of yours. But if that doesn’t really fit, make it something you’re good at or something that you’d like to know more about.

I love running so that will be my first site, but I could easily do one on real estate investing, Pontiac Trans Ams, being a stay at home parent, cheap family meals...

If it’s not fun or interesting for you, you probably won’t want to do it.

This is why I don't like the idea of a Super mini blog name. You're too limited in content ideas sometimes when there is more opportunity expanding to another related niche. You don't want to compile a dating site, a money online site and a camping site that wouldn't make sense. You can have a wide niche name, allows you to scale moving forward.

Hi there WA-ers, I have a question about choosing a niche.

Can you get too niche?

As in, let's say I want to be in the 'Gardening' market; that's too broad, so we'll niche down to 'Growing Fruit Trees'; still not quite there (although it could be good as an 'umbrella' term).

Now, here's a good one: "How to grow fruit trees indoors"

Although it sounds good, is it too narrow? After all, once you've described the growing conditions for 1 fruit tree, won't you run into duplication issues for other tree species?

Do you see what I mean?
Reply
feigner Premium
I don't think it is too narrow - think about what you can help that niche with - pot size, nutrients, pruning, pests, diseases, climate - for all the different types of fruit trees - although i am struggling to see a 10ft apple tree in my house!! maybe bonsai.
but you get the point that is not too niche and would make a wonderful helpful site, marketing all of the products to produce successful growing trees.
As all of the trees come from different climates you can advise on things like fig trees, orange trees, apple trees fir trees, so you have all of the different climates and how to recreate them within the home environment.
Good luck with your niche selection.
Just remember to think outside the box, but even if it is a very narrow niche - if you are very knowledgable then it would be a very good learning curve for the business model.

I am not sure if paintball itself is a narrow enough niche and Its been the only thing holding me back from building my first website. Its the one thing that has me sidelined right now.

Hey Shane,

I can see a few strategies that might give you a few ideas. You could review paintball gear. Check this site out to get a few ideas about what there is to promote and then base your content around that.

The other thing that you could do, but it might be more of a long term thing, is create a product of your own talking about paintball strategies. I'd start with promoting the gear first so you can get a bit of income flowing, and then maybe think about selling strategies.

Another way you could do it is to give away paintball strategies, and then recommend the gear to use. Does that help?

A good trick to see what is out there to promote is to Google "paintball affiliate programs'. You can do it with any niche, so "niche + affiliate programs', and you'll see a whole lot of stuff come up that you can scan through to give you ideas.

Hi Gregori, welcome to Wealthy Affiliate. I am afraid I don't speak very much Spanish. I will do the best I can.

You can make a living from photography. It is a highly competitive field. You could build a website that teaches photography and you could recommend cameras and other photographic gear for sale.

You could make your site in Spanish. You know there are millions of Spanish speaking people all over the world.

All the best to you.

I have worked in the garment industry, for over 15 years, mostly woman's and kids clothes. From the cutting room to shipping. Thinking of doing this as a niche. But my concern is and I would like any woman reading this, to comment. Knowing what I know. would taking the advice of a professional that worked in the industry, would this work? Would a woman take a mans advice or recommendation ?

Absolutely! Keep in mind most designers of women clothing are men. Not only that, but most women get dressed with the intentions of trying to impress/attract a man. So a man's opinion in clothing is absolutely a great niche.

Everything is ok. now I have pubished my Privacy Policy. I have two small problems: 1- I published it as a page, not as a post and even then there is space for comments in my privacy policy and it should not be so and second when I enter my administration area in wordpress to edit the privacy policy in order not to be found by the search engines, when I go to the bottom of the page I can not find anywhere: Robots Meta Noindex and neither do I find Robots Meta Nofollow. What will I be doing wrong? I need help.
Thanks a lot

Just make sure the little box is not checked off for comments and you can do that in pages and go to your privacy policy and then quick edit. It should be done as page so that is good, and then added to your menu so that part is good as well.
I think the no follow etc. is found in settings and not at the bottom of your page. I may have this confused and if so, I apologize.

Thanks a lot MsMerry, the little box is not checked off for comments. But the most important thing is not to be indexed by google with this duplicate material. but I have reviewed the administration of my blog from top to bottom and I have not found that application, it seems to me that at the moment the best alternative is to erase the privacy policy until the situation is clarified and I am infinitely graceful for your great help.
