OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also known as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host your own FREE website as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domain). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can easily move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.stierubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

Hi - this is a learning platform that teaches you to build your own business. The program does work, but you have to be aware that you are unlikely to see any income for at least 3 months and more realistically it will be 6 months.

You are in the first lesson of the training course. You need to read all the information, watch the videos and complete each task as you are asked to do so.

Hi Clara,
Its like Diana says
But it is an amazing platform, full of all the training and support of likeminded people, who all need to survive.
But I would take a change.
And order the premium immediatly, so you can try and see for a month. Premium brings a lot for 19 usd in 1st month. Then decide.

Good afternoon,
So I do have a number of questions:
I understand the need to write 3 articles a week. How long are they usually?
I chose a niche that is very specific, so much so that I don't know if I can blog forever on it. So at this point, I am thinking of extending the subject, and maybe change the name of the website.
Basically I am thinking of going from Knives and Spatulas to cooking and baking utensils.
What do you think?
Now the other thing I would like to include in there is possibly cooking demos, or utensils use demo.
What are your thoughts on that?
It seems to me that one website could be a lot of work, and even though you offer the option of having several, how much time a day the successful members spend on their website a day?
Thank you so much.

Hi. For the artiles, I would say between 500 to 1000 words. I think knoves and spatula is a good niche. There are many things to say. You could write about each kind of knives. Then you could compare brands, talk about the perfect knive, etc. Same with spatulas.
So you have a lot to talk about before you expand.

In a day, you can spend how many hours you have in a day to invest building your site. One hour to get started is good.
Good luck!

Congrats, keep on persevering now nect level

Hi - the recommendation is 2 or 3 articles per week at a minimum of 1000 words each. This will show Google that you are an authority on your subject.

Once you feel you have exhausted your initial niche, you can slowly expand to add other elements one at a time.

It's a good idea to have videos, but not too many as they can slow down your site.

Just spend as much time as you have available. I personally spend 3 hours per day.

Hi Clara
Hello there it's Jon again! It's been a while since the last time I logged in. I want to ask some advice regarding affiliate marketing. I'm currently a member of one of the top network marketing company in the U.S. and the best thing here is that, the company allows promoting their products and even invite people to join under me thru affiliate links. Question: Can I do this MLM business using affiliate marketing approach?
JohnDenekar Premium
Are you talking about promoting wealthy affiliate? If so make sure that you use your own affiliate link so you recieve the credit for any referells.
No. I want to promote a network marketing company using their given affiliate link for me.
JohnDenekar Premium
ok, no problem, you can do that.
Please help me , I want to make a post (article) to get a rank on google, but I can not make it I have no idea how to make it , now I want to make a post about ( what is language teaching) the QSR is 44 and the traffic is 36 but I can not make it ??

How do you make articles (posts)??
ChrystopherJ Premium
What do you mean by you cannot make it?

Have you followed the training? Are you trying to create it within SiteContent? Are you getting an error message? Are you trying to create it directly within WordPress? Are you getting an error message there?
TheMarshaP Premium
Did you go through the training and complete the initial build out of your website? The first post you create is the "About Me" post. You would create this post the same way, and it would then be your second post.
Hope that helps.

Hi - you will need to write 2 or 3 articles every week for your website, eventually you will have hundreds of posts on your site.

Have you chosen a niche that you are genuinely interested in and would enjoy writing about? You can look at other websites who are covering the same niche so you can get some ideas, but make sure you don't copy and paste anything. You could perhaps write about the different ways of teaching languages.
I'm in lesson 9 and I have already published (about me) post , but not I want to write articles about what is language teaching but I have no idea what to write !!
Ok I published my about me post , but not I want to write articles on what is language teaching but I have no idea what to write!!
DianeScorpio Premium
As I said, look at other websites that cover the same subject such as this one.

What if you don't know!
DianeScorpio Premium
Don't know what? Anything about your niche subject? Why have you chosen it then? Your niche should be something you have experience of and can write lots of articles about. There are no shortcuts, Google will not be interested in your website until you have written lots of articles for it.
Is it okay if I find something in a book and publish in my site?
AparnaBansal Premium
Oh Boy! Hashim, you can change your niche to something new if you dont know what to write about in your present niche.
I'm interested in this , but have no idea how to write articles.
EmakAmelia Premium
Use sites like answerthepublic.com to generate ideas and look up similar kind of websites in the language niche.

Here is what I got as an example when I type in "language teaching" in answerthepublic.com search engine:
Is it normal if I find something and publish it in my website?
EmakAmelia Premium
If you find ideas from Google, other websites, you still need to write about it in your own words. Google likes fresh quality content that is original. If you copy and paste stuff to your website, your post won't be considered original, therefore Google won't index or even rank it.
DianeScorpio Premium
If you mean, can you copy it, then no. Neither can you use material from a book. As I said, there are no shortcuts, there is a huge amount of writing involved in this method of marketing and you have to write it all yourself.

I notice you have been here at WA nearly a week, and after your first 7 days you won't be able to ask any more questions. So, make sure you fully understand the process.

Basically, you need to write 2 or 3 posts every week, totally original and in your own words. After a few months, your posts should be indexed and possibly ranked in Google.
I can't write articles by myself , thank you , I'm gonna give up.
Good day, I am from South Africa and would like to enquire about affiliate website. Can I only promote products outside of South Africa because of shipping costs and long delivery times? This is for businesses like Amazon etc. And can I also add South African affiliated stores for local promoting?
JohnJStanley Premium
hi Anina,
If like most you are doing an niche website for affiliate marketing, your website will reach the 4Bn+ internet users.
So I suggest global affiliate links were possible (Amazon does have some country specific rules and multiple registrations needed - please search in search bar for how to do this)

- "Can I only promote products outside of South Africa because of shipping costs and long delivery times?" I suggest you promote global affiliate links. Then the shipping will be determined by whichever of the 195+ countries your audience lives in - determined between the seller and the buyer (normally affiliates don't have to deal with any of the shipping issues)

- Local SEO/Local promoting - sure you can do this also.
E.g. Keyword, "how to buy ___________ in South Africa", you could add South African affiliated stores for local promoting here

Does this help?
Yes thank you so much
Really appreciate your reply
