OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a video walking you through the SiteRubix platform here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

DISCUSS VIDEO: Create a Website in Under 30 Seconds

Task 1: Building Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to less than 30 seconds to get a full operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host up to 2 FREE websites as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 25 free websites and the ability to create 25 sites on your own domains (total 50 websites). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you may own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can move it to your won domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choose a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.stierubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to 12, hand picked quality designs.

As a though you will have access to over 2,464 designs (as shown below) or your website. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

The powerful hosting you have access you here is unparalleled in the Managed Wordpress hosting industry. We truly specialize here in providing a secure, robust and FAST platform for you to run your website.

We know that your website IS your business, and it is important that you have the most advanced technology to keep your business operating at 100% at all times of the day.

The following are just some of the powerful features included within the SiteRubix platform here at WA.

  • SiteManager (Starter & Premium)
  • SiteContent (Starter & Premium)
  • SiteBuilder (Starter & Premium)
  • SiteDomains (Starter & Premium)

To make your sites secure and fast, we have some SiteRubix EXCLUSIVE technologies to make sure your websites are operating at lightening speeds, but also in a very secure way that protects you from hackers, spammers, and all forms of erroneous attacks.

There you have it, the low down of the SiteRubix platform and you have your website officially up and running online. Exciting stuff!

As we move forward within the training we are going to be building out your website content, and working to get indexed and ranked in Google, Bing & Yahoo (and do so for free).

I tried your program a couple of yrs ago if not mistaken but because of a lack of concentration(illness heart failure); i wasn't forced to quit!! I don't particularly like videos and much rather get written instructions instead which is old schooled i guess but it really works for me! Is this to much to ask for as a free member right now who hope that my health will allow me to learn and comprehend so i can upgrade as soon as possible! Hi,
I have just rejoined WA as a Premium Member. Don't mind admitting that I became frustrated in August and quit. I am back, re-energized and ready to go. Question..I want to completely start the training over at the beginning and when I go into the site it shows the training level that I completed before. Can I clear this so that it shows me starting at "Getting Rolling"? Thanks.

welcome back, have you tried unticking the boxes for the activities you already did, that should free you up

I had probs with those boxes before so actually stopped ticking them at one point, but now see the way it is all laid out there on the right, we can navigate really easy to whatever lesson we like this time, forward or back

yep it can be overwhelming at first, just keep asking tons of questions and give yourself time to succeed and absorb everything - it will all click at some point mysteriously when you least expect it :)

hey Steve - can you not untick the boxes to reset the levels?
Alternatively just go through the training again. Keep a track of where you get to and start from there next time.
Good luck this time - maybe pay yearly to keep your mind focused
all of us get a little frustrated - especially when things go so slowly, but follow the training and it will improve.
Don't forget to have a play with test sites to see if you can break them - then you know what not to do with your main site!
As i say good luck this time.

I am confused with the last sentence

Can you please help me with 2 things
1. How can I unpublished my private policy because I published it as a post instead of page. Can I delete it or there is another way.
2. One of my site content and private policy's I published has no where for me to tick no-index and no follow. I don't understand why is that because my first site has got the tick boxes.
Reply

1. delete the post that you created by accident and do a new privacy policy that is a page

2. so the site where you can't tick no follow - was the all in one SEO activated?

Hi guys,

So I just set up my All-in-one SEO and tried to google for my site, but I don't see my website shows up anywhere even after I've typed down each and every single word of my website name in Google...

I'm brand new here. I attempted online marketing twice--many years ago.

The first time, I bounced around a lot from idea to idea. The second, I tried building a business writing/creating content for others' websites (About two months). My work was very well-received. I write well, but I am VERY slow (perfectionist), so I wasn't going to build up my income enough to make it worthwhile.

Just earlier this evening, I had the idea to look into affiliate marketing again. I just started working at an Amazon warehouse one month ago; it's going quite well, but I'd obviously rather just make my money as an online Amazon affiliate. :)

WA looks great so far. You can understand that I am highly skeptical of affiliate marketing's potential...this is based upon past experience and the probability that niche markets are overly-saturated nowadays. They were already saturated a few years ago. But I am here (I wouldn't be if I didn't think it may be a good opportunity) and I am open-minded and want to give this a solid try!

I am in South Africa and have been thinking about starting a blog for a while now. What I am worried about is that all the ways to make money through a blog seems to not be directed towards the SA market.Especially as what I have in mind will be mostly for SA consumers. Am I wrong about this? Are there anybody from SA who are doing this successfully who can pipe in on this?
Reply
@RICH. Premium
You don't have to target the SA market, for example your site could target the USA, Canada and the UK, affiliating with Amazon. and using their OneLink program, which would give you a much greater target audience. :)

Hi Melanie

I am from South Africa, you clicked on my link on Kaboutjie :) Yes there are plenty of ways to make money online when you have a blog. There are South African websites that have affiliate programs, plus you can do sponsored posts, Google ads and sell ad space on your website. You don't have to worry about the country you are in, as soon as you have some traffic to your website you will be able to monetize it.

Thanks @Rich, I understand I don't have to target the SA market but what I have in mind for my blog does target the SA market. So I need to know how workable this will be to create revenue from.

I'm confused. I thought you said that by creating a page for the privacy policy, no one would be able to comment. When I look at the site, there was a comment box below the privacy policy.
I'm using a magazine template. If you know how to remove the discussion box, I'd like any advice you can give.

Some pages on themes will allow for comments. If your privacy policy has a section for comments then you'll need to disallow them in the settings. It is usually located below the text when you are editing it i.e go to your wordpress site- click on edit of the page- scroll down and you should see the disable comments box.

Question - I have my first niche site up and running. But as I am doing the work to find keywords for that site, I keep finding keywords (with an AMAZING QSR) that are close but not an exact match. They are connected to an area that's closely related to my first site. It's an area that I toyed with focusing on for my first niche and now I'm wondering if I should go ahead and set that idea aside as a second niche. How soon is too soon to start a second niche website?!

MJ

P.S. If you are the type that likes details - I have a site called "Tots, Teens, and Theater" up and running. When I'm searching for good keywords for that site, I keep coming across keywords that would better fit a site focused on the use of drama in the church.

You will always want to make sure that your keywords make sense. You will also want to keep your keywords relevant to the theme of your websites. You don't want to be talking about dogs on technology site (unless you are talking about digital tracking collars, etc).
Reply
MJLaupp Premium
That's what I thought. The other keywords work with a similar site - also a passion of mine - but they aren't an exact match. They need their own site to work on.

two niches at one time is a lot to take on, most people won't master it while starting when they haven't yet mastered the training, some could perhaps, just make sure you don't end up overwhelming yourself
Reply
MJLaupp Premium
That was my concern. Niche number one is working with kids and teens in the theater. Niche number two is using the theatrical arts in faith based institutions - churches, Christian schools, etc. I've worked extensively in both areas and doing research for one usually connects to the other. I'm hoping that will allow them to sort of grow together.

I'm on Course 1, Lesson 8 on KEYWORDS.

I'm curious about what word/description differences are between Jaaxy and the Keyword Tool? Specifically in reference to the column names/titles Kyle is talking about in the training video...

I'm getting confused between what to look for in "traffic" and "searches" and "average" and "competition" for a new blog.

Also, on the Keyword Tool, what exactly am I looking at in the Article & PPC Power columns?? Is there something of importance in there?

Any clarification or links to other keyword explanations would be appreciated... I'm a visual/reading kinda girl and I think I may have gotten lost for a bit in the video I watched (twice!) today.

Thanks friends! :)

How do I get my posts to go on the website in the correct order. I named one post "home", but it is now in the middle of the page. I've added some posts since that time, but I would like them to be in the order that I've added them, not going on backwards.
Reply

posts go to your blog roll, so either your entire blog roll is your home page and the posts tend to be ordered according to the date you post them, or you choose a page on your site to be your home page

pages go to the menu, posts go to the blog roll [as a rule of thumb]

there are ways around everything of course, but as long as you understand how it works in general, then you can decide things going forward

to set home page go to Settings>Reading and notice in there you have a choice between your front page displaying your latest posts or a static home page

Confused a bit with these Posts and Pages, i got a question. If i created a main menu and in it 1 of the tabs has sub-menus right, i can make the main tab a page and the sub menus posts....
e.g. the main tab with drop-down menu is called 'Life Lesson'(Page) and 1 of the sub-menus in it is called 'Tip of the Day' (Post)....but if everyday i need to add content to the sub menu 'Tip of the Day' how do i make it a new article but keep it under the same tab if i used a Post to make it?
Reply
MozMary Premium
this sounds confusing, not fully sure what you are aiming for here...

in my opinion, you'd have a very long submenu if you are going to add a post 365 days of the year every year, so how about sending those to your blog?

you say 'tip of the day' is a post, so to create a new tip of the day would be to create a new post...so you are asking where that post goes now?
Reply
im saying i want all those to go under 1 sub menu, all the 'tip of the day' posts to go under 1 'tip of the day' menu but different pages, understand?

My question is in general how to people feel about listing their full name. I know we can but with security certainly a concern how do people feel about putting out maybe "too" much and yet still reach an audience without sounding robotic and cold. Thanks.

Reply
D-AnnTaylor Premium
The way I see it to answer your question, why do you need to post your earnings for the world to see, if they are in fact making money....mmm...I wonder.

Could it be the others platform way of pretending to make money by showcasing their earnings to lure you in to their platform?

Would you or have you ever posted your earnings for everyone to see that you have made from an employer who pays you weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly?

I certainly would not because for one it is not their business what my earnings are from my employer or my business. Not only that but also thats personal and confidential to for my eyes and my employer who pays me.

You know how they tell you in the traditional workplace, you should not discuss your pay with others in the workplace.....it;s kind of unethical.

So, ask yourself why are these other platforms in the online business world posting their earnings for the world to see?

Chances are, its probably fabricated lies. I'm just saying....don't be fooled by their marketing scams because that is what it sounds like to me. Oh yes, there are many out there!

I figure it like this, plain and simple - if an affiliate program goes as far as posting their earnings on their website for the world to see, that's a red flag to me indicating it is a marketing scam to lure people into their platform and once they get them, they will not live to their word of making you the kind of financial figures they advertised on their website.

My advice to you....DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!

You have arrived at the leading marketing affilate platform in the online business arena, that is, Wealthy Affiliate. They are providing their people with the best tools and and top of the line training to ensure we are successful.

WA have around the clock support if you are in need of assistance with anything and number 1 in my book, they care about their WA members! That's hard to find in the online world of business and more so in the traditional setting of business.

So, I say run with it and aim high.

Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate. I wish you much success in your new endeavors here at WA.

lots of people post their income all the time, especially when they have just begun to make serious income having joined a few months ago - but you are only here 5 minutes, so how can you know what happens?

But not everyone is going to show their income, just like anywhere else in life, especially if they make a lot. Everyone is different, and income is ultimately a private matter.

If you can't see the resources for themselves and realize what you can do with them, then nothing anyone shows you will make a difference, the issue is with you.

Also, if one person can make $2000 a month very quickly, it does not mean you can even with the same resources, it will always depend on how much work you put in and what level of skill and ability YOU have...
Reply

I agree all these parts related to our income our personal and only are based on our own action and success.
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
There are plenty of us making a good amount of income here, but it is no one's business to know how much I make. Those other platforms showcase money earnings to trick people into thinking that what they are selling is going to make you tons of money.

But making money online depends solely on how much proper training you have taken and how you go about applying that knowledge. If you cannot learn the proper steps and put them into practice, you will not make money.

Look at it this way. Do any colleges broadcast how much money one will make if they graduate with a degree? Of course not, because how much you make depends on your personal work effort. Wealthy Affiliate doesn't broadcast earnings because it is just an online college of sorts and everyone will earn differently.

You could also try using the SD version of the video, instead of the HD version. The HD version are obviously larger files.

Go with what you know first. You can't really give advice about how to make money online if you have never made money online.

Plus, passion is a huge part of success so picking something you are passionate about will help you stay motivated till success knocks on your door.

Once that does, feel free to open up a make money online site and the many other ideas you will have.

Hi

If your going to do affiliate bootcamp first then do a wealth website but if your starting of with the certification. Course which is the green tab marked get started here as I did then do a niche website on art and photography.

After I finished the certification course and got my niche website up and running I started affiliate bootcamp where I am halfway through and have my wealth site up and running. I've been doing this for 9 months so I advise you to concentrate on one site at a time as there's no rush.

Best wishes

either way you'd have to master the training, right now you are beginning the training so you have some time to test out things with your free sites before committing to a particular niche

always take a look at where your interests lie, whether you can write content in your chosen area several times a week, what the competition looks like, and what affiliate programs are there for you...when you try to build up a site in any one niche it soon becomes clear how far you want to go with a niche...and the free sites are perfect for practice

Hi,
I set up a Jaaxy accou t to do keyword and niche research. I am currently on the starter plan. I can search and see the first 8 or so reults, but the rest is blurred out and I getba pop-up window that tells me I have to upgrade to fully view my results. Is there a way to access this content in the free trial/ starter version?

Hi WA community! I've just joined and am really struggling with choosing my niche. My interests are horses, dogs & crafts and my job is bookkeeping. I don't feel like I am qualified to advise people on these subjects. Can anyone give me some help as to how I can get started choosing my niche? Many thanks

Its much easier to work on a niche if you are interested in it. Especially your first one.

I would pick one of your passions then look it and pick out a sub niche from it. As "Horses" is too broad, maybe something like "horse protective head gear" would be a good fit.

Its a personal choice but the more you know now the easier it will be to comment and post about.

If you have to research each post and answer the job becomes 2-3 times as long.

There will be some research in any niche as you need to source new products and review them and the industry but as a starting point the better you know the subject the easier it will be.

Hope that helps.

Hi Lynda, I think everyone here had this problem :-) if you type this question in the search bar above you will find a ton of advice. In short, the idea behind choosing a niche is that:
1. you need to like it and enjoy it, you will be producing lots of content in this niche (and don't worry, the posts ideas will come as you write more and more) so you better like what you write about.
2. you have "some" knowledge in the niche but do not think you have to be an expert. If you are, that's great but you can always research your niche (online, library, print magazines, YouTube, etc.) and you can write from a perspective of someone who is reporting rather than lecturing.
3. don't overthink it. It's is likely that your idea will shift one way or another as you learn more and more about online business. It's normal. Nobody had it right from the start.
4. Try to be narrow in your niche. You can always expand it later. If you start with a broad topic you may get overwhelmed and the competition might be too tough.

These are just a couple of things that pop in my mind but I do advise to search that question in the bar above.

Best of luck!

Hi Lynda - welcome to WA.
You say your interests are horse, dogs and crafts. And you say that you don't feel qualified to advise people on these.
What was the last thing you bought for your horse and why?
How did you get into horse?
why did you pick the horse/s you have?
what tack do you need to start with?
How do you care for the tack?
How do you care for the horse?
Do you see what i am saying - you have a lot of knowledge that someone who maybe looking to get a horse for the forst time would love to have. You have real experience with a horse, no-one can take that away. So if you decide that your niche is 'hobby' horse ( sorry i don't know the right word for everyday horses rather than show horse) You can start out researching those keywords, and others. You can pass on your experience about owning and riding a horse, caring for a horse , signs your horse is suffering and what to do.
Are you qualified? Do you need to be qualified?
Yuo do every day what people will have to learn to do every day when they get a horse.
Good luck with your niche selection.
Phil

Hello to the WA community ! I need an advise : currently I am trying to do my Search engine optimization. There is supposed to be an "All in one SEO" but it does not exist on my side-bar. What did I miss and how do I get it on my side bar ?

Hey Vojislav,

So you won't see All In One SEO in your sidebar. Once installed, it will be visible in the left hand side menu of your website dashboard (see screenshot).

If you can't see it there, go through the training video to see if maybe you missed something: If all else fails, let me know and I will help you further.

You will find All In One SEO in the admin area of your site in the Plugins, you may have to activate it then it will appear on the left side of the admin menu in the top left. From there you can enter your SEO for your site and set it up, it does have a lot of preset setting that you will not want to change.

CuriousEwa Premium
Hi there! All in one SEO is a plug-in to a website Every member, free or premium has this plug-in installed by default to every website they create. So you should see it in your website backoffice:

You also don't need to do anything with it, it does things for you, things that used to be done manually in the old days I believe. The SEO you refer to is a set of actions you do to your post to rank well and these are: keyword research, keywords in various places (URL, post title, post meta title, post meta description, keyword in content) internal and external links, images with alt tag, YouTube video and a few more
Reply

You have to activate it first and then it will naturally appear. It's a PLUG IN. Don't forget to update it, too.

I have two other questions:
1. I learn that I can transfer the website on my own domain. From the starter training, is there a course which teaches about domains and how to buy one? I have an idea what this means in theory but I have no idea how it works in practice.
2. How we can find the general conditions for premium membership?
Thank you in advance!

So I say I have chosen my niche but I'm still REALLY nervous about it and I'm waffling on how to focus it. One of the things I'm most passionate about is the performing arts. I'm a pianist, a theatrical director, and a singer/songwriter. I'm leaning towards resources for those working with teens and kids in theater. But music and theater resources for those working with churches who are on a tight budget is also appealing. Help!

Which are you most passionate about Mary? The idea is always to go with something you could go on and on and on about forever!! You can always branch out later...that's what I'm doing.

Don't worry, sometimes it's a metamorphosis. I'd zone in on a specific that you can help ppl with. Be a problem solver for your audience and You'll be their hero!! They will then turn to you for advice like my ppl do.

Does this help?

Thanks for the feedback! I'm especially passionate about the area of musical theater, especially when working with teens/kids or using it in connection with faith/church. My gut tells me I need to make those two separate "niche" audiences. Even though know there is some crossover, some do only one and not the other.

The affiliate bootcamp is good for training specifically affiliate marketing. The training you are on now is good for a general building an online business, creating traffic stuff like that. There are a lot of similarities between them.

but you will not go back to starter, as you'll have unlocked all the training as you go premium

Premium membership pays for hosting, so if you cancel then any websites here need moved over to other hosting - all websites need to be hosted somewhere

anyone who cancels also has the opportunity to return, your profile is still there and your followers and anything else you did while you were here, so it is possible to take a break or change your mind and return

there are also cheaper yearly options on membership which makes it work out at less than $30 per month eg yearly or Black Friday, but obviously the $49 per month is the one that can be cancelled.

Hey
I don't personally believe in fast money, there is no fast money in this world. I believe in this platform and i am sure you will learn a lot if you joined as a premium member.
I have joined various programs , tried so many ways to make money online but it all went in vain, this is the only platform that shows you the path to work hard from your home, it never tells you making money is easy and free.
I dont think you can make income as a free member, just go through the course and if you like the course in the first 7 days i suggest you join the premium membership
Its the best course available to learn affiliate marketing.
Make informed decision.

I'm still just trying to process how your supposed to "make" money from a blog if your not a very talkative person to begin with? What do you do just talk and reply back to people all day? The whole point of working from home is to get away from other people and the rat race.......

@RICH. Premium
You shouldn't think of 'blog' as a diary or journal, just as content. For example, you could be blogging reviews of products, in which case those interested in buying what you recommend, click through to say Amazon, make a purchase and you earn commission. :)
Reply
You are creating a place that people can go to get valuable information and products on the subject/niche that you have chosen. You don't have to talk to anyone and if you create your website to be purely informational, you don't ever have to even offer a contact me page if you choose. It's all about finding what you love- creating a website about it- curating or creating solid info- and finding affiliate programs that support your info. 8)

What do you have to offer that people will want? Whether it's information, entertainment, a product, a service, etc.

You need to talk to anybody at all - for example, you could write a blog post on "the best way to kill weeds" & recommend a product via an affiliate link... Then when somebody searches "the best way to kill weeds" they land on your blog post, click the link, purchase the product & you make money. Nobody spoke :)

The best advice I can give you is to focus on your training. One Day at a time and One Module at a time. Complete each assignment BEFORE moving on to the next one. If you get stuck ask for help in the comment feed for that module or go to live chat. The other thing to do is use the search bar above...where you see the big Star. Type some words for what you need help with and you should come up with several tutorials by members.
And yes, Sorry :), patience it is. Seriously. This is a process but as Princila shared the success stories are motivational. Good luck.

I've been at WA just over two years now - and I would say, that what kept me most motivated in the beginning, was to look at success stories at WA and I would star them into a list, so that I could look back at them whenever I felt a bit down. But also, as someone else mentioned, to take it one day at a time - to look at it as the "long game," and not expect results too quickly - but know that in time, hard work does pay off!! Nat

I've been making notes and recording my ideas as I've been researching affiliate marketing.

I can see that selecting the right niche is most probably the most involved and should be the most researched part of the process as everything then flows from that. So getting it right now can make such a difference down the line and ultimately will deliver the success that I'd like it to.

Think I have a few decent niche ideas, but need to do more research into them first. Any advice on how I can narrow down my list? Do I Just do keyword searching on Google? Any advice on researching niche markets would be great

I'd definitely start by working in a niche you are truly passionate about, as long as there's enough content and products to go with it. You'll find there's nothing more dreary than writing content year-after-year about a topic that bores you to tears, simply because it was originally a "better" niche! :)

PGauld - I love your post because it accurately reflects my approach. When going through Kyle's video in the training he recommended that you spend no more than 10-15 minutes on niche selection. I can understand why he made that statement. The challenge with affiliated marketing from my perspective is the ease at which we tend to go down the rabbit hole for more detail, more clarity, more understanding. I am finding this now with construction of my website. What others describe as a 2-hour exercise is taking me days. I think the answer to your question lies in balancing the need to choose the right niche/product, keyword, logo, domaine name, etc., etc., with learning all the steps that we all have to get our product up and running and generating revenue. Only you can determine how far or how deep you want to go, but understand that there are many, many steps to go before you launch.

Spot on plberg!!

I have read elsewhere that there's no substitute for researching your niche to understand the volume of the market that you are looking at. Building on what I've read and seen so far here on WA, a strong foundation will help set the future long term goals and lifespan of any niche affiliate website. On that basis I'll certainly be taking my time to get it right first time.

BlondGuy98, yu should be a little more specific about your niche. Choosing video games does sound exciting, but there are video games on possibly every activity around. If your passion is for video games...excellent, but choose an area of video games that you feel would attract attention, for example car or bicycle racing, boxing, not to mention specific video games for children of different age groups, or adults...the list is endless! I hope you get the drift of what is suggested.
