OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also knwn as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host up to 2 FREE websites as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 25 free websites and the ability to create 25 sites on your own domains (total 50 websites). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you may own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.stierubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to one theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

The powerful hosting you have access you here is unparalleled in the Managed Wordpress hosting industry. We truly specialize here in providing a secure, robust and FAST platform for you to run your website.

We know that your website IS your business, and it is important that you have the most advanced technology to keep your business operating at 100% at all times of the day.

The following are just some of the powerful features included within the SiteRubix platform here at WA.

  • SiteManager (Starter & Premium)
  • SiteContent (Starter & Premium)
  • SiteBuilder (Starter & Premium)
  • SiteDomains (Starter & Premium)

To make your sites secure and fast, we have some SiteRubix EXCLUSIVE technologies to make sure your websites are operating at lightening speeds, but also in a very secure way that protects you from hackers, spammers, and all forms of erroneous attacks.

There you have it, the low down of the SiteRubix platform and you have your website officially up and running online. Exciting stuff!

As we move forward within the training we are going to be building out your website content, and working to get indexed and ranked in Google, Bing & Yahoo (and do so for free).

Hi. I'm just kicking around an idea. I have tried some mlm stuff and am interested in making money from home. However it hasn't allowed me to actually refer to many of the products I actually use. Most of which are purchased online. I accidentally stumbled upon one of their affiliate programs a few days ago and was excited to learn that this existed. I stumbled upon WA today and will most likely be upgrading within the week. My idea is to share my struggle with anxiety and depression related to my Bipolar disorder. I want to post daily videos and posts about certain products or supplements that I am testing to try to keep myself feeling my best physically and emotionally. I hadn't really considered having my own website but I can certainly see the benefit. I just hope I have the time and patience it takes to complete tasks! Wish me luck!

Hey Chelsea - just remember, this isn't a race, there isn't a time limit - just do what you can and then pick it up later.
I like your niche choice and the fact that you're 'living it' adds a massive ring of truthfulness to it.
Go for it!

What a fabulous idea! I love it!

The process will help others and likely be very cathartic for you to share your struggles too, if that makes sense. I see your site becoming a hub for people seeking a community that 'gets' the struggle they are facing.

There seems an element of synchronicity between discovering the company had an affiliate program and then stumbling across Wealthy Affiliate in such a short time-window... Things often happen for a reason, don't overthink it, go with it and give it your best.

Don't worry about the time factor, this is a business that can be geared to your schedule and around your time commitments, you will have ALL the support you could ever need from this community too!

I wish you all the very best with this fabulous plan, I hope you have a magnificent 2020 that sees you achieve many of your dreams and goals :)

Wonderful to meet you :)

Steven.

Hi, Chelsea! I think it's a brilliant idea to share your experience and knowledge in this particular niche, Bipolar Disorder. You will be helping many people if you do this and can leverage income form it in return. You should buy your own domain for this. It is called virtual real estate property. Your Domain can be valued in millions of dollars, you know! When you buy a domain, it will only cost you up to $14 to $40. Cheers. I'm, excited about your plan and I support you 100%! :)

Question. Do I get my own domain then elsewhere or should I sign up for premium membership? Can I get a domain that way?

Hello CHill5919,
I am new here but more hopeful with this program and it is all in one place. I have been taking many trainings but all seem to be missing the main thing. The total package. I am relieved to begin and use everything I have learned so far and make progress instead of standing still. I will be purchasing premium very soon. Very cool site!!!

Idea is to establish a profitable business. So, I suggest you go through the training first and don't buy the new domain (for training purpose, you can use the free domain option).

Once you understand the complete online business model, then you can take proper decision on selecting the niche or building a website and so on. (It's my approach).

Hi. I have already started work on a wp blog that is hosted by Blue Host. I already own my domain name, purchased through Go Daddy. I haven't gone live with my blog yet, but I've added pages and content. I guess I'm wondering if it's possible to just switch over what I've already done or is it necessary to start from scratch here?

You can back up your content from your other site and upload it to a site here if you want. It's a little bit of a pain, but a lot easier than rewriting everything.

Thanks, Nedd. I truly appreciate the guidance.

Okay. So I'm building my first website, a siterubix one, and I'm trying to add a header image. I added a photo and successfully cropped it to fit, and hit the publish button, but when I viewed the page it didn't show up. I tried it several times, same result. So, trying something different before hitting the "Select and Crop" button I added a couple of words to the Alt Text box above. Now I'm getting the message, "There has been an error cropping your image." Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone help?

After you add the image and hit publish, close the page out. Close out of Wealthy Affiliate. Then open a new page and your image should be there. If it is not, then try clearing your cache..

hope this helps

Yea, Skings:
Psalisbury nailed it.
Each & every time you change something within the website, you gotta re-load the website that others are seeing. This is if you have 2 of your websites up @ the same time, one for editing & the other to see how it looks / how others see it. {personally, I prefer this way}
Bring it up on your mobile phone too. Way criticle here, seeing how e-commerce is running towards this direction.
If you are just using one window / one site & going back & forth between edit & view your site, then should work fine.
.
Yet still, if you are sort of new @ this game, don't go hog wild with the site you want out there. Take some time & go with a "practice" siterubix.com website. Mess around inside & post & look what changes what & how others see it. I'm telling you from experience, it'll save on the headaches.

Hi! I'm really happy to have found this community. It's really reassuring that Kyle and Carson take such a personal interest in their clients. I don't think I've seen too many others do so. I just have a quick question. I've already begun building my blog, though I haven't "gone live" yet; still fleshing it out. It is a WP blog and it's hosted by Blue Host. Should I upgrade to premium, can I switch the hosting over and would I be able to get help in doing so? Thanks, and again very happy to have found WA.

Sorry it took so long for anyone to help, that is VERY unusual. I actually do not think I have ever seen that. Usually you get an answer to a question in under five minutes.

If you have any other questions, I would be glad to answer them now, if I can, since I am online.

I really appreciate that, Phil. Since I've already decided to join, but had already kinda started on my own, that was my only pressing question. I'm already pretty sure that I'll get a lot out of this initial training. I'm also looking forward to guidance and reviews, as I have a lot of ideas, but also a lot of uncertainty as to how to implement them. Oh, I've thought of one. What's the best move to make at this step 4? Should I just build the free website or build one under my own domain. I have to wait a couple of days before I can upgrade to premium, so which would you recommend?
