OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also knwn as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host up to 2 FREE websites as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 25 free websites and the ability to create 25 sites on your own domains (total 50 websites). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you may own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.stierubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to 12, hand picked quality designs.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 2,464 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

The powerful hosting you have access you here is unparalleled in the Managed Wordpress hosting industry. We truly specialize here in providing a secure, robust and FAST platform for you to run your website.

We know that your website IS your business, and it is important that you have the most advanced technology to keep your business operating at 100% at all times of the day.

The following are just some of the powerful features included within the SiteRubix platform here at WA.

  • SiteManager (Starter & Premium)
  • SiteContent (Starter & Premium)
  • SiteBuilder (Starter & Premium)
  • SiteDomains (Starter & Premium)

To make your sites secure and fast, we have some SiteRubix EXCLUSIVE technologies to make sure your websites are operating at lightening speeds, but also in a very secure way that protects you from hackers, spammers, and all forms of erroneous attacks.

There you have it, the low down of the SiteRubix platform and you have your website officially up and running online. Exciting stuff!

As we move forward within the training we are going to be building out your website content, and working to get indexed and ranked in Google, Bing & Yahoo (and do so for free).

Have questions about this lesson? Leave them below in the comments area and we will be more than happy to help you out. :)

I think I already know the answer to this (yes) but id like to know from others

Would gaming be a good niche?
With all the controversy like 100$ paid memberships, gambling, Hong Kong, and incoming government regulation, I would feel like this would be a bit bumpy to attempt

TLDR; Gaming (for a niche) would seem like a roller-coaster, would this be a good idea?

All niches are good. If you have a passion for gaming then that is a good thing. You will be writing about whatever your niche is going to be potentially for the rest of your life.

So make sure you have sincere passion for gaming and then I don't see a problem.

I saw a site where there was retro games coming back like Mortal Combat etc. There are tons of retro games and I wonder if they are still being covered today by bloggers for those that want to relieve their childhood gaming experience.

I know I would love to play Mortal Combat again LOL.

Hey Espin,

Every single niche on the face of the Earth can be made profitable...

Funny thing, I once heard about a lady who made $10k a week by selling a course in the niche "iron deficiency in goats" LOL.

Anyway, since creating a profitable online business is not a short journey and since your main job as an affiliate marketer will be creating content for your website, it will be much easier and fun for you to pick a topic you like talking about.

I don't know much about the gaming niche (shame on me because I used to be a passionate gamer a few years ago) but I think it might indeed be somewhat competitive.

However, you can always refine your niche and instead of targeting gaming in general, go for a specific genre of gaming (strategy, online, action, etc).

You may start your website in a small niche in order to reduce your competition and then when you start seeing the traffic rolling in and your website gaining some traction, slowly start expanding in its broader niche.

Everything I just mentioned is covered in the training so make sure to follow it very carefully.

If you have any questions or need any help, just hit the reply button below and let me know!

Hi guys

I need advice here:

I have doubts about going for my own chosen niche or going for the Wealthy affiliate one (bootcamp) ... I´m pretty much a newbie so it´s all new to me. The Wealthy affiliate niche , perhaps, could be easier for someone starting off as it provides a solid and long applied system as opposed to promoting a niche from scratch ?

I appreciate feedback

Thanks

Hi - the money making online niche is very competitive, and actually more difficult if you are not familiar with the subject. Can you immediately think of topics for your first dozen articles?

If you are using your own niche, you will probably find writing about it more enjoyable.

Look the way the training is set up its not hard at all. it is broken down and they walk you though little at a time. truthfully I am enjoying creating something of my own. You should give it a try .

Personally, I did the affiliate marketing/ digital marketing route then the contents that I write are the things that I am learning.

I dunno. For me, it will reinforce what I am trying to do. In addition, this is one of the best routes to make money. Once I am making money from this niche, then that is when I am planning to do what I really want to do.

I chose my own topic. I have about 20 more that I have thought of, but only one thing at a time. I enjoy writing about it, and I probably have written about 7-8 posts in 2 weeks. I'd like to make some money from it, but it's not my only concern. I think my foundation needs to be rock-solid before that happens, anyway. So, I guess my advice is to choose something that you enjoy, and maybe are even knowledgeable about. Unless you really enjoy the "making money online", or you're already experienced with it.

Hi,

If i set up a domain name when on the starter account, when I pay for premium, will I be able to remove the .siterubix com and still keep the domain name the same as when set up using the starter account?

I'm just concerned I will lose the domain name when I upgrade incase it wont be available as just a .com

Thanks

Hi - unfortunately, there is no guarantee that the .com version of the name will be available. Domain names are constantly being sold.

However, when you wish to transfer all your work from the SiteRubix website, the domain name you transfer it to can be different, they don't have to match.

Hey EMurphy. Unfortunately having a domain name available here on WA. The domains are all sub-domain names within the .siterubix com domain, This means although the domain name is available here it is NOT guaranteed to be free on a .com, or even .net etc.
I say this as I have this issue with a sub domain here and ended up finding an actual .com or .net that was available then made a new website here that had a .siterubix com sub domain and transfered the content to the new subdomain.
You can then transfer your .com or .net (etc) DNS addresses to the subdomain name here. ]

Ask for help from domain support.

Hope this helps.

I have noticed in the free section you constantly talk about all of the help I will receive from all of the experts that work with you.
It appeared I can ask any of these people for help on any subject. Is that how you interpret that statement? Well all that is very nice but you missed one thing, you never gave me any indication of WHEN or WHERE to find the ANSWER. Your site is very congested and very difficult to get around. Actually I asked Kyle a question the first day I started and I have no idea if he ever sent me an answer or not because I did not know where to look for an answer. Don't you think you should inform your customers where the answers to there questions will appear or at least send emails. Actually, unless you answer this question by email I will again not know if you answered me or not. I hate like hell to spend money on a educational program that I cannot ask any questions about and receive an answer. The only reason
I did not have problems with the free portion is because I already
created an affiliate website and it was made live 3 months ago.
I thought taking your course could only help me. However what will be presented next is going to cost me money and I know I will have a lot of questions. Can you whoever you are help me ?

On top is a bar where you can ask a question. In this platform you can ask your questions as well. You receive email notification if someone answered your question. You can also look at the notification icon at the top it will also notify you if there is an answer to your question. Look at the training section classrooms if you are in starter you will not have access to all of them. I knew nothing about a website before coming here and the training really does help.

Hey! I understand the frustration you might be feeling right now and that is how I felt during my first week when I just could not find anything!

First things first......at the top you your WA dashboard you will see a clock icon that says: Learn About WA. Click on View it now underneath and it will take you through the various sections of the dashboard and what each is about.

About the questions....at the top of your dashboard beside the WA icon you will see the search .....you can type your questions there and get answers.

To the right of your profile picture there are the sections: My Profile, Blog, Questions and Training. Whatever questions you want to ask in the community you ask it by clicking on Questions. You click right back there to see the answers that were left on your question

You will get all notifications in your email. You will be able to see when your question was answered.

As it relates to Kyle, please understand that he is getting thousands of messages from us but I know he always gets back to us.

I really hope I was of some help. Please feel free to ask me for help. The community is willing and able to help you.

Any question you post that gets a response, there will be a notification at the top of your screen where the image of the bell is at. If you click on it, it will show you that 'such and such' replied to your question/message. Click on that and it will take you to the response.

You can also post a question in live chat, or there's a tab at the top of your profile where you can post a question.

Hi. There is a place on the top left (as you sit facing the screen) where you can contact Kyle.

That is the area I sent the message from. But what does that have to do with were the answer comes from. Plus how long am I supposed to wait for an answer to arrive from Kyle. I am looking at the location currently and I just don't see anything telling me I will receive an answer to my question at this area of the screen shortly. Do you see what I mean. I will tell you what, why don't you go to the screen, face it, look at the top left corner, then send me a message telling me where I am directed to go and receive my answer to the question.

When doing a niche with Wealthy Affiliate will I need to do another programs to build other affiliate options online. I am trying to understand you all teach the knowledge and help build what is needed to make money online. I will never have to go to another program to progressively build the online business. Or do I start here and later I may want to go into and other programs, will that add to this website that I am building. What are Funnels, will I learn that or it does not apply. Do Wealthy Affiliate educate you on all offered options online, like trades online. Where you purchase an item that is in demand and profit. Can that be a niche the trading items online. Amazon has that program.

We provide you with everything you need, including access to Affiliate Programs that you will be promoting.

I have spent some time breaking down the process in the most simplistic way possible. Success online is at the core a 4 step process and I have broken them down within this video: Broken, down, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Choose your niche
Step 2: Build your website/content
Step 3: Get rankings in search engines (leads to traffic)
Step 4: Monetize your traffic (the make money part, through affiliate programs, etc!)

This applies in absolutely every niche and as you work through the training here at WA, you are going to be walked through this exact process. This is fundamental for ANY success online.

If you have any further questions let me know Comikia. :)

Hello I do have a few ideas of a niche and with the year membership 25 can be created. I am thinking this way because once I complete one before the niche ear is out I will have the option to start another instead of changing it. I have a few niches already and it is what I feel great about. My question is I will be replying to comments from customers or just getting the attention and forming a pleasant approach to cause them to purchase. I will do one website with a niche and that one is done for as long as I carry the membership. Correct? Another thing, sorry so much, at any time can you go to the free membership while learning if the monthly plan is offered. I have two others I am motivating to do this with me.

Hi - as regards upgrading to Premium, you can pay monthly at $49 per month or 6 months for $234 or yearly at $359. Plus there is a Black Friday deal coming up for a year at $299. When paying 6 months or yearly, the lump sum has to be paid in full.

There are no refunds so ensure you are fully committed to the program before you pay. You can cancel at any time but you then lose all access to this platform and can't go back to being a free starter again.

Once you have upgraded to premium you are given 25 free websites and can host up to a further 25 purchased domains.

Hi!

When you start creating your online bussiness you will only be encharged ig providing your audience with the content you’re offering. If they decide to buy the product you dont have to deal with customer service. That company you’re affiliating with will provide that.

I am very new and I am just finishing lesson 2 and I greatly look forward to the success. My goals are to make $30,000 per month online and this is a great opportunity for me. How it is broken down. Is the $290 us it for a years worth of support? I want to build my website for a non-profit wanting and for Affiliate Marketing. That will be two separate websites, yet I will work on one at a time. The video content will be in the non-profit and I want to actually build now the Affiliate Marketing part first. Once I learn how to do one and fully understand a Niche. What I want to know is do you build many pages in the website or is the Affiliate Marketing website is one niche. So you are offering 2 websites meaning I only can do one niche? Thank you all in advance.

The general rule here is one website per niche so as not to confuse your customers. Yes, you will be building a site with many blogs as content is the way to traffic. Go premium and you will be able to own up to 25 sites. The black Friday offer of $299 is valid for one year premium membership.

You will want to have one web site per niche. To have multiple focuses within one website will confuse your followers and hinder your success with any niche. Going Premium is the best way to work with multiple directions as it gives you the tools to do so in the most economic manner.

Hi - this is covered in lesson 8. I notice you haven't chosen a narrow niche as recommended in the training, if you intend to have posts on all those different subjects. You are targeting a lot of different audiences, rather than being seen as an authority on a specific topic.
Reply

that maybe down to the theme that is on your site.
have a look in appearance customize at where you can place menus and whether it is what you want - if not you have a small selection to choose from.
don't forget to make each of these categories and add tose to create yur menu.
then each one will be clickable and show the articles relevant to the category.

You need 5 pages named for each of those things. Then, you go into menus and add each page to your main menu.

Or you can label existing pages by those names while inside of the menu, and that will allow you to move them into the order you want.

Hi - as an example, say I found your site through searching on Google for an article on beauty, perhaps "lipstick for older women". Having read that post, I then discover all your other articles were on fashion, nails etc which I am not interested in, so I would leave your website and then you have lost a potential customer.

If however, all your posts were on beauty for older women, I would have much more to read, stay on your site much longer and see you as an authority on that subject, and then, having built up that level of trust, I would be more likely to buy something through your links.

That is why it is recommended to have a narrow niche, which has less competition and doesn't confuse your visitors.
Reply
Oh my god, wow, I haven't thought of it that way! Now I understand and here comes the million dollar question: Which niche should I pick? I have a huge interest in the beauty/luxury lifestyle world.
As in make-up and skincare from high end products.
Any thoughts on this or how I can figure it out?
Reply
DianeScorpio Premium
Hi - which would you most enjoy writing about? Think about a target audience, such as skincare for sensitive skin, organic skin products, moisturisers for women in their 30s, waterproof cosmetics, makeup for evening looks etc.
Reply
Hang in there. You will get it!
Reply
Hi - In that case I can see it clearly: skincare for dry/atopic skin.
So I will write about that! Another thing tho, if I start writing about it, I will most likely want to refer to a certain product I'm using.
So I'm promoting that product I guess? If I promote it now, and I'm not an affiliate from that specific product, I'm basically promoting their product for free? (as for now). Or am I seeing it wrong?
What are your thoughts/advise. Thank you so much.
Reply
DianeScorpio Premium
Hi - yes, that's a good niche. Your site should be a mix of purely informational articles with no selling intent, plus product reviews which are where you will add your affiliate links.

So, start with general articles on your niche, such as what can dry skin be a sign of, why is my skin so itchy, do vitamins help dry skin etc. Once you have built up some content, you can apply to the affiliate programs and do some product reviews.
Reply
Referring to your comment on starting with general articles on my niche, can these be articles I found on the internet? Bits and pieces of it? Is it okay to copy/paste etc.. Many thanks,
Reply
DianeScorpio Premium
Hi - no, absolutely not. You can't copy and paste anything, not even a couple of sentences. Everything has to be original and in your own words.

Hey folks,
I've been working on and off on a blog that helps parents understand (and conquer) the ins and outs and "behind the curtain" stuff of preschool/daycare settings for a while now.

To niche something like that into tangible products for affiliate marketing, would it make sense to then focus on like...teacher-recommended childcare items? Say, a section on things your kid needs in preschool in the winter months, another for what they'd need in summer, another for what's best for holidays? Or would that still be too broad?
Reply

That’s a good idea. You can also take some time to browse online for relevant affiliated programs that may incorporate your niche. When I first started I was so overwhelmed thinking that there weren’t gonna be any affiliate program for my nice, and guess what? I found over 15!

So the first month of the premium is $19.00 per month. Does the price change to $49.00 for the months to follow. Also, does the premium version discusses how to link the affiliate products to my website as well as my pay-pal account. In addition, does the videos discuss in detail as how to profit off of amazon as well as drive traffic to their website.

Hi - yes, after the first discount month of $19, further payments of $49 are taken automatically on a recurring basis. You can cancel at any time but there are no refunds, and you can not return to being a free starter member again.

Level 3 of the training covers joining affiliate programs and adding links. Not all affiliate programs pay through PayPal, you would need to read their terms and conditions. Amazon is mentioned, but not in-depth in the main training lessons. However, there are other members who have written their own lessons on the subject. (Amazon pays by bank transfer or gift card, by the way).

You will learn how to drive organic traffic to your website, which is primarily through the content you add to it - informational articles and product reviews.

Trust me, if there were not enough lessons here to take you from Zero to Hero we wouldn't have 1.4 million members in 193 countries! Not bad don't you think?

By the way, I'm David, and I'm glad to meet you. You will have a website up and running in a few days at least. From there you will learn about niches, keywords, writing good content. After that

We have our own content editor with templates for your use in writing various types of content. The templates are merely outlines for you to use if you wish?

From there if your serious you will probably upgrade to premium which will unlock a whole new level of pretty much anything you can think of as long as it has to do with you learning to build a better website or websites, and build your online business.

There are literally enough lessons here to keep the average person busy for at least a year and most likely a lot longer then that. Plus, you have to remember that there are new lessons being made constantly.

I know because I see the email alerting me to them whenever they come out, and that seems like every few days?

Good luck, and I hope to see you at the top! By the way I am following you now so if you ever need me just send me a message!

You got the prices right. But I wouldn't recommend staying on the monthly membership. The yearly is so much cheaper.
When I started, I got the $19 deal and at the end of the month, I went yearly for $359 (about $30 per month). You'll actually have an even better deal because there will be a Black Friday deal for the yearly membership at $299.
The training mentions how affiliate links work, but not the step by step process, because it's different for each site. There's training for pretty much everything, though, so search on the WA search bar and you'll probably find a guide.
Also, the training is soon to be updated, so you may want to send a message to Kyle with things you'd like in it.
Have a nice day!

Your niche can be about the particular places you like to photograph, why you believe that particular place is good to photograph (reasons), and within that also relates to the places you are travelling to.

Hope that helps or puts some thoughts out there for you

Your niche can be about anything related to traveling. On page 2 of the following tutorial I list several aspects of travel that can be made into niches. And if you maybe interested in another kind of niche, I also offer dozens more like photography, cooking, sports, video games, weight loss, music, and many others.

Hello to everyone!

Would it be a good idea if I chose my niche site to be related to PC components (you know, stuff like CPUs, RAM memories, motherboards, disk drives, PSUs, cooling systems, and anything else we can use to build strong PCS)?

I am a programmer who really likes computers, and I am thinking about promoting articles belonging to this kind.

Thanks!

Of course. If that is what you are passionate about and have experience, that would be a great niche for you. Having said that, think about your niche more as a "topic" and not necessarily about products. Yes, product is important, as the links to it is likely how you will make money; but think of the components you listed more as recommended solutions to problems your readers are experiencing. This will also help when you go to create content for your site as well because you will be writing helpful articles that they are searching for -- the product, then, simply becomes part of the solution presented. Make sense?

Sure, you can definitely head in this direction, just don't go too broad with your niche as you build out your website.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Hello, I have just listened to the video and I think I have messed up. I created a home page which appears ok and that seems to include the post that I created "About Us" (previous tutorial). However, as I had changed the name of this page from "About Me" to then "About my website name" and then finally to "About Us" I seem to have messed up the links perhaps or something. So, in the Recent Posts side bar it has my post title i.e. "About Us" but when clicked it takes me to a blank page. Likewise the top menu has a title "About Us" and this also takes me to a blank page....eek! I did change the permalink on my post.....eek again. Not sure what I have done but a little concerned. Plus, my site was just indexed apparently so I'm wondering whether messing with the pages, posts, links etc means this could be interfered with. Any help is appreciated. Thank you, Martine

I thought this was going to be difficult, but really you just want to pick something you are already passionate about! I went through and built a website about creating passive income, but now I'm going in another direction. I'm excited because even though I don't know much about it, as I learn I can share the information, and in turn I will be providing valuable information to my visitors. Best advice I would give is to just pick something to begin and you always have the ability to start more sites. Once you get down the process from the foundation (beginning, with all the training) the second and so on sites will become easier.
Cheers,

Hi all, I have been looking into the keywords training and been experimenting with this cool Jaaxy tool. My question now is following:
* Why would you add only one keyword to your post/page and not 20? Since I would think 20 keywords will generate more traffic then just one.

Regards,
Marc

Hi Marc
Keywords are definitely required for indexing and ratings through Google - You will come to the lessons that explain that using lots of different keywords over and over through you posts and pages to create income or links, rather that constructive and related comment can be unhelpful too ...
So Keywords and Keyword Phrases are a tool - they should be precisely related to the information you are providing and if that is the case then 20 in one will be fine.... Good Luck - Sandy :)

Marc the rest of the keywords are called latent semantic keywords and you are correct you cant write an article without using multiple keywords, but there should be only one you are ranking for
Reply
AmberJoyful Premium
That's a great question and the answer is that you don't want to be keyword stuffing. Google doesn't like when websites do that and it makes ranking your article to the relevant section.
My best advice would be to still tackle the low hanging fruit
Keywords with <100 QSR >30 traffic.
Long tail keywords:
"How to make money online with affiliate marketing" rather than
"Make money online"
Targets more than a couple keywords, naturally.
When creating content it's more effective to keep the human element in it. When stuffing your content with many keywords doesn't guarantee any ranking at all, and possibly losing trust while doing it because quantity and quality are applied differently

I’ve now completed all my lectures and course training for level 1 which was ten courses . In order to get to level 2 WealthyAffiliate wants people to join their service as in a paid service that has benefits like putting more in your website , thousands of classes of training and research keywords which makes the highest result everyone is searching to the lowest results people are searching . A starter is non pay and you already get a minimum of thirty searches , premium gets unlimited or until you cancel for searches . The premium starts out as 19 dollars and after the month is over if you decide you want to continue its $49 and doesn’t raise after that even after your done with all the other training levels. Their are seventy total but only 10 for a starter as in courses that have videos in them explaining instructions .

I need to ask the question though before I join what can I do on the website can I make a video of me playing piano as a demo for work on the website of my own domain ? Can I teach piano on the website as give live classes? Or just video? Is their a option where I can get people to pay from watching my video of a teaching? These questions need to be asked before I think about joining

Once you go Premium you can have up to 25 websites (domains) for your specific niches.
On each site you can post links to your video content stored on YouTube, and Audio files on Soundcloud, or other sites.
Due to the size of these files they can not be uploaded to the WA Server.
You can use plugins to control access to certain pages and videos ...
The first month is only $19 ... in that time you will have a chance to work on configuring your site!

Hi, I have some ideas concerning the niche. But to get started, I'd like to do one of these 2 options:
1- health and weight loss for moms and women over 40
2- Parenting: practical tips for busy moms to help them organize their family life
What do you think? is it too general?

Thank you all for your advice and suggestions.
Reply
DianeScorpio Premium
Hi - health is one of the top three niches, and therefore very competitive. You would really need to have a very narrow niche to be seen as an authority in this subject, and preferably a related professional qualification.

Organizing for busy families is a great idea, particularly if you have experience in this, and the readers can relate to you.
Reply
allancurtis Premium
These are both good niches, although very competitive ... are there specific topics within these you could focus on?

Rather than Health and Weight Loss you might consider ... 'Weight Loss for Mom's over 40' or 'Weight Loss for Diabetics over 40' ... something like that.

Parenting is a huge topic ... narrow it down ... Parenting of ADHD, Parenting Preschoolers, Teenagers, etc.

The most important thing to think of ... what would people type into Google search to access what I am offering ...

If they type parenting ... Google will return 388 Million sites (try it ... the number of sites appears at the top of the browser under the search bar) If you search Parenting ADHD Kids it returns 37 million (1//10 the number) ... this is your competition!

Those are both good. I'm not sure which would be better honestly. You could do some searches in Google and play around with Jaaxy for keywords and see what the competition looks like. But more than that, which one is something you could write about for months or years? Which are you passionate about?

I gained between 50 and 60 pounds for each of my 4 pregnancies and managed to lose them all after each so yes I can write about it.
with 4 kids, different ages, I had to improve my personal organization, so this one could help other Moms as well.

Hi,
I'm trying to choose my niche but I get about a thousand ideas and can't decide what to go for.
Is there any way I can search for a few different ideas and get a bit of insight on what might be more popular than the other?

I was thinking about choosing camera bags, do you think this would be a good choice?
Reply
DianeScorpio Premium
Hi - the most popular niches are health, love/romance and money. However, that makes them more competitive. Any niche can be successful if you apply enough time and effort to it. Remember, you will be writing a lot of content on your chosen niche, so it should be something you are genuinely interested in.
Reply
ManojV1 Premium
Camera bags may be a bit narrow for a niche. But first, let me explain the main criteria that I look for in a niche:

1. It must not be too narrow but should be broad enough to enable the creation of enough content, at least a hundred posts before scaling up further.
2. The niche should be such that there are enough products to promote, preferably with prices above $50. Commissions are usually in percentages, as an example a %5 commission will give you $2.50 as commission per item sold. So it makes sense for product prices to be high but not so high that there are only a few sales.
3. Must not be extremely competitive. A general niche like finance will put your site up for stiff competition from the big authoritative sites.

Instead of only writing about camera bags, you could create a site about camera accessories. This will give you enough leverage to write about other topics when you have written enough about camera bags.

Not saying that you have to write only about camera bags, you can also write about lenses, filters, tripod stands...there will be so many interesting things to write about then and your readers will also enjoy visiting your site.

Hope that makes sense. If you have any more doubts please feel free to ask. :-)

Hi, I have a question regarding free domain- I was told that using .com domains is the best in terms of SEO. I always thought that any free domains with unusual suffixes (like siterubix.com, .coach, .zoom etc.) would automatically loose with .com, .net and .org domains in Google searches.
Reply
feigner Premium
there is a little advantage using a com but it is more about relevancy nowadays for google and getting the most relevant search results in front of the searcher.
so if your content is very relevant then you will still beat a com.
start your journey here with a siterubix ( you can move all of your cotent to a domain you host here at any time with the move button) and upgrade whenever you are ready.
FYI a siterubix is a subdomain rather than a domain.
and i have subdomains ranking on page 1 of google so again there are no problems with that - it is down to the content.
have fun Anna

Anna, if you have the option to get your own domain then do it.
If you want to build a siterubix.com blog for simply practicing your writing or working on your website creation skills then fine, but why build a website and have to move it.

I have been doing this for a number of years and one thing I know for certain. Problems can arise at a moments notice. Why even give trouble an invitation? If you don't have to do it then don't

Great content or not, a real domain name is most likely going to do better in the long run, maybe you can get traffic to a siterubix domain? I won't say that's not possible, but what site would you rather go to yourself?

mywebsite.com or siterubix.com Your website is your brand and the first thing that customers will see and make a mental impression of. Like the old saying, "First Impressions are lastiing"

Make a good first impression!

Hey, I have been here one month and three days. This is not a get rich quick scheme so if you are not in for the long run you will not see the rewards. You will not start making money instantly.....you have to follow the training exactly and build your website, learn to monetize it and give it at least six months to see some results. see my blog from yesterday on some of my accomplishments so far: Also the following is the website I am still in the process of building. It is by no means completed but so far I have made 4 sales on Amazon as the blog says:

https://besthumanhairweavesandwigs.com

I understand that you have concerns, I did too but at this point I know that I am in the best place to make money online.

I hope you stay, finish your training and get started at a real chance to make an income online. My long-term goal here is to buy or build a house for my family. If you have any other concerns do not hesitate to let me know.

Hi - yes, this is a legitimate program, but it is not a get rich quick scheme and takes months of hard work. If you intend staying as a starter member, you will only have access to the first 10 lessons. This is enough to teach you to build a website but does not go in-depth into how to drive traffic or join affiliate programs.

Even if you were to upgrade to premium, you would be unlikely to see any income for at least 3 months, and more realistically 6 months. There is a lot of writing involved, which is the reason you are encouraged to pick a topic for your website you are genuinely interested in.

Having said that, if you take the attitude of realising this is a long-term commitment to building a genuine online business, then there is money to be made. I have added a link to some success stories for you to read, but do be aware that most people prefer to keep details to themselves. After all, would you announce to complete strangers what your earnings are?
Reply

Your success will be directly linked to your effort ... this is not a get rich quick scheme, it takes time, patience, perseverance to be successful.

Affiliate marketing is not a scam ... once you have your membership paid for, you are free to use the vast resources on Wealthy Affiliate to learn and implement your online business.

All the tools are provided along with rich educational materials and a community of thousands of members willing to help.

The beauty of Affiliate Marketing is that it runs in the background for you 24/7 and can generate revenues for years with little or no effort.

Selecting a niche and developing your website will take you weeks ... gaining traffic on Google and Yahoo etcl will take weeks to months ... revenue may not be generated for a month or so ... it really depends on so many factors.

Other people's success or lack of success has no bearing on your potential ... there are far too many variables to be comparative!

This is a business ... only you can make it successful!

You're not being rude. This is a common question. And, yes, this is legit. There are many members who are successful here; just do a search for success stories. But... there are also many who are not successful. And that's to be expected. It's normal.

You must remember that this is a business like any other. It's going to take time, effort, and even some financial investment. It is most certainly not a scam, but it is definitely not Get-Rich-Quick either. It's straight-up hard work, plain and simple.

The only real difference between an online business and starting a traditional brick and mortar store on the streetcorner is the overhead involved. For example, I run my entire business out of an office in my home. I don't have to pay for a building, and my morning "commute" is basically from the bedroom to the bottom of the stairs. But how you run a business is pretty much the same.

At the end of the day, the question isn't does it work. Many of us are living proof that it does. The real question is, will it work... for you. And only you can answer that.

If you are connected but behind a firewall, check that Firefox has permission to

Of course.

The reason that it's not recommended that you do both at the same time is not that it's "forbidden" or because you're new. It primarily has to do with the fact that building even one site is very time-consuming.

You will be writing dozens -- or even hundreds -- of articles to get your site off the ground. And unless you are an extremely prolific writer who has the time and ability to crank out 3000-10,000 words per day, it would be near impossible to build two sites at the same time successfully. Focus is critical.

Thus, instead, think of it as either/or. If you have a topic (niche) that you are truly passionate about, go with the OEC and build a site around that. On the other hand, if you already have a lot of online business experience, or are passionate about affiliate marketing, then do the Bootcamp.

I must warn you, however. The make-money-online niche (i.e. what is covered in the Bootcamp) is EXTREMELY competitive, so unless you really know your stuff and/or have a ton of experience, I would suggest sticking with the OEC and choosing another niche. You'll have a better chance of success. Then you can always go through the Bootcamp later, build a business site, and share your successes.

Hope this helps :-)

You can do Affiliate Bootcamp after OEC, but it is recommended that you do not do so right afterward for the simple fact that it will take months before you start earning consistent money from a niche website.

Affiliate Bootcamp is solely for the promotion of Wealthy Affiliate. It has nothing to do with creating an affiliate marketing website in a niche built around a hobby, interest or passion of yours. The tutorial below explains why you should do OEC first.

If you make $600 or more, you need to file a form 1099. WA will not send anything since you build relationships with the affiliate products companies, so such companies should issue a Form 1099 to you if your earnings meet or exceed that threshold.
Anyway, at the end of the day, the affiliates are responsible to pay their taxes to the IRS.

Happy to help you out here:

1- I Can't seem to add my favorite post to the bottom footer

Not every theme will support this. So depending on the theme that you choose, you will want to do so accordingly.

2- The About Me Page, and Privacy Policy Is on the right side of my page, how can I move it over to the right under my site name?

You can manage this through custom menus. This is covered in the first level of the training.

3- How do I get rid of the word sample page from my site?

You can delete it, by going through the Pages. This is covered within the first lessons of the training as well so you will get there.

4- On Word press the bottom shows main menu, (under appearance- menus) but my box shows primary menu, does that matter?

Primary Menu is your top menu, that is the one that you will be able to adjust with your own custom menu that you will create.

I completed all the OEC training about a month ago, now I am going back to the videos one by one while I create my website.
Although, I'm eager to get my website up and running quickly, I know I need to take my time :)

I'm at Level 2, so I may have to go back to address the questions that I asked.

Be Well,

Underneath the blue box where it says "Customise Your Site" there is an option to "change your theme completely".

I clicked on it and it says, "Bad Request" !

I thought it was a good request.

Anyway, I could stick with the theme I'm on but I have no idea how to get rid of the writing and put my own writing there. I managed the title okay, but then the main post says:

Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start writing!

How do I edit it or delete it? There is no pen symbol for this section that I can find!

Hi Everyone .. I'm stuck right now, on choosing a niche. I'm trying desperately to get UNstuck. Does any of you have tips on how/what to use, since I'm very interested dogs and cats, wild animals like elephants and so on .. actually Anything kind and loving . Thanks for anything you choose.

have a play in google with its autosuggestion - no holds barred - just type in cats and a space and see what it comes up with - anything look interesting then write it down
carry on like that using the alphabet soup ( add a letter from the alphabet after the space and see what it comes back with)
look at what you have written down - is anything interesting.
nope then try another seed word - animals and go through it again.
click on any interesting searches and look at the questions and the related at the bottom.
this is a personal journey - only you know what interests you and flicks your swtch - you may change it in the future for something completely different, but it is ideally something you know about or really want to learn about.
have fun

Hi - well just thinking about dogs, you could choose dog toys, dog training, dog clothing, dog beds, dog nutrition etc. The same ideas would work for cats.

Hello to everybody!

I was thinking that as my niche I want to choose travelling. Do you guys think that a good ideal or should I go with something more simple? I choose this one because I really like travelling and to meet new cultures and people and I'm alwasy getting excited when I'm talking about where I'm going next.

Best regards.

Hi, If travel is a passion it's worth exploring as a niche. Within travel and many other niches there are sub sections. This is worth narrowing down. Adventure travel, city travel, beach travel, . . . . hope this helps, Steve C

The travel niche is an excellent niche because most people love traveling but may not be able to travel to all the places that they wish to. That is where your blog will come in.

It is an evergreen niche and such a niche will always have potential even though some may feel that they are saturated. Here's what Kyle wrote in his recent blog post:

"An evergreen niche is one that is always going to remain popular on a day in, day out basis throughout the year. With 4 BILLION people online now, pretty much every niche is going to fall into this category.

An evergreen niche is going to allow you to create an authority website, which will lead to a long term, and very much sustainable business online."

(Source: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/kyle/blog/which-niches-will-be-the-most-profitable-in-2020)

In fact, there is little or no information about several destinations and creating a blog on them is going to get a lot of traffic. More people would like to travel to newer, unexplored destinations and search for information online.

So why not combine your passion with an online business i.e. your travel blog, and make money while you travel the world! :-)

Honestly, it is doubtful. This is a program that takes time to build. You have to be devoted to constantly adding new content to whatever category or niche that you decide to go after, but it does take time?

I have been doing this quite a while, and I have been back here since July 3rd. I haven't made any money yet and I don't really see it coming soon, but I understand how it works so I have not been pushing to make money either.

I am just going with the flow and things have a way of falling into place. "A watched pot never boils", if you know what I mean?

Good luck whatever you decide.
I will tell you this, after a very exhaustive research into this I have finally decided to stay here and just follow the training. One of the biggest tools this membership has to offer is the community!

There are 1.4 million members in 193 countries and they have been online as a company for 14+ years.

This is the strongest community of like minded people I have found online. There is a lot of knowledge here! You can take that to the bank!

Good luck my friend,
David

You could, but you'll have to do a lot of research on your own about how everything works.

If you want to stay on Starter, what I recommend is:
1. Go through the first level
2. Watch any other training you can as a Starter
3. Focus on writing A LOT and consistently.
4. Find a free keyword tool. Ubersuggest is one I like.
5. Use Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools to have your content indexed faster.

After 4-5 months, see your progress and decide how you want to proceed.

Thank you for your advice. I deeply appreciate it. I will follow you tips.

Hi, Je,

Wealthy Affiliate is not a ''Get Rich Quick Scheme.'' There is a potential to maybe share out your links to family friends or on Social media and you may well get a referral that way.

That is one of the awesome parts of Wealthy Affiliate as soon as you become a member you are already accepted as an Affiliate.

Your Unique links are all in the $ sign top right.

To be honest if you want to earn serious money then you will need to go premium. I will be truthful with you although $19 doesn't seem like bundles to some it is to others. So I would never judge anyone on that. I was a broke Mom when I started out.

Thank fully W.A. changed all that for me it was the best $19 investment I have ever made and that was back three years ago now nearly. I haven't looked back since. I still get excited at learning new stuff everyday.

We are always kept in the loop here and up to date with the way Google is forever updating and changing. The internet is evolving all the time and we are lucky to evolve with it too.

The training here works simple as.

You seem to have the right mindset already and want to get stuck in.

What I would do if I was you is, dig deeper into the free training you have here. You will have access to tons more helpful training from the community here if they have their posts turned on for newbies.

Keep writing lots of quality posts in your website.

Write content that will inform and help your audience. Quality helpful content. Answering the questions you think your customer needs. There is bundles to write about on any niche.

Use up all this time you have and keep learning and keep writing new articles. Keep sharing out those links. Then when you are able to go premium you will be well in front to take on the next lot of training modules.

Wealthy Affiliate is a brilliant platform but premium is certainly the best way to go.

Wishing you all the best in all you do!

Another question. I created a site specific email address. Under Settings within the back end of the site the original email that I used to sign up to WA is in there. I'm not sure whether I need to change it to the site specific email in order to receive emails from readers etc or that if I do this I will not be able to receive emails from WA to my original email address. Make sense? I want to use my original for all messages from WA or members but not for readers of my website. What to do?

In the Websites --> Site Manager --> at the top of the page is the Email Button .. you can set up as many email addresses as you like for your domain.
You can then use that email on your website for notifications, etc. or any other use you wish ...
You can also setup forwarded email addresses so that the mail goes to your default email box, even though it comes from different sources with different email addresses.

Yes, you can upgrade at any time. And you can cancel at any time as well. There is no cancellation charge, but there are no refunds either that I am aware of, so you probably shouldn't go for a yearly membership until you are absolutely certain this is a business for you. Hope this helps :-)

You can upgrade at any time and there's no cancellation fee, however there's no refunds and if you are yearly you pay that all up front. Yearly is the best way to go for the best savings.

I will answer part of this. You can upgrade as you like. If you do I suggest you wait until the Black Friday special starting the day after American Thanksgiving.

As for cancellation costs, that I haven't looked into but if you have a website, to keep it you will have to transfer it out of WA and I believe that costs.

Hi Kyle/Carson/ community
I am interested in getting into solving the unemployement problem because l know there are more jobseekers in the job market than the jobs that are available which accounts for the term that exists i.e. "unemployment rate". So l want a niche that says options to the 9-5 job model. Is this fine as is or can you tailor-make it to suit a niche phrase. I just think if people are helped to look outside of the job hunting conditioning the world would be a better place and there will be less of struggling amongst the world's population and families' lifestyles can be improved and upgraded and you will not have children not being able to go to school because there is lack of financial support and many of the other social ills that confront the world today.

Reply
cramervod Premium
That is actually what you are going to be doing yourself. Learn how to create the right content for your niche so that you do figure out how to gain the most traffic.

Since no niche is the same, there are only tips and tricks that you can learn from other bloggers by studying their individual websites.

That Is also why you will want to know who your competitors are. Affiliate links and making money come last after you have learned how to get traffic to your offers.

But the best way to do it is to answer questions that people are already searching for. That is where keywords come into play which you can guess or you can go right to the groups where your target audience hangs out.

That way you can interview them or survey them to find all sorts of things out which will help you to design the best content that attracts them to your website.
Reply
Thanks very much Cramervod for the wonderful advice=)
Reply
cramervod Premium
One trick is to ask your target audience which products they have tried, which things they are aware of, and which ones that they wouldn't try.

That is a part of the interview or survey but it can assist you in knowing who the competition is exactly.

Thank you to whoever left me a comment in answer to my question about whether to get a .com or a .org domain name. It popped up, I read some of it and then it disappeared! And I can't locate it, but thanks whoever-you-are!

Basically they advised me to get a .com if I intend to make money as a .org is generally used for charities and not-for-profit businesses.

I had already bought the .org but have since purchased the .com

Now my question, is what do I do with the .org domain I don't wish to use now? Is there any way of 'unbuying' it?! And if not, is there any way to offer it to someone who might want it? Or is there still some way it could be useful to me that I don't know about? I just don't want to own something that I won't use that someone else could benefit from.

Thanks!

Hi - although a .com is seen to be better, more recognisable internationally etc, you could still use your .org as another site in the future, perhaps for a different niche. One of my sites is a .org, and I have had no problems with it, as regards indexing and being found in Google searches.

Once purchased, it is yours for a year. You could maybe sell it or give it away. However, if it is the same name as your .com domain, perhaps you don't want somebody else using it, as they could be in competition with you!

Kyle & staff ...

although I have really just started my journey, I have not been able to avoid a theme. The arrow or mouse seen throughout each presentation is sometimes very difficult to follow. This in part due to my being a newbie. Another reason is due to the size of the mouse or pointer and the fact that it blends so well into the background. you can imagine how this could give attendees a rather nice headache.

May I respectfully suggest an edit on the presentations going forward? I recommend a dark color (red) circle to house the mouse or pointer of sufficient size to be spotted instantly. This will also help encourage viewer attention span.

Thoughtfully ...

Hi pretty lady!!! Thank you for your post. I enjoyed reading both it and your bio. you are an interesting young woman.

While I AM still learning - ARGGHHHH, I am aware of the screen information you shared. but as I posted (I think), my issue is not the screen, but the mouse or pointer on the screen. I have watched presentations with the mouse as we see at Wealthy Affiliates - HARD to find AND follow; and I've enjoyed presentations that displayed the encircled mouse - MAJOR difference. Much easier to follow and to understand the material presented.

I also posted because I know I am not the only one concerned about this, but I am probably the only one to have posted about it.

Hi there people! Happy Monday! Any help on this niche thing will be appreciated!

I'm a singer songwriter with a small YouTube channel. I have no albums to sell yet but will do further ahead. When I think about writing to promote products, the stuff I would get excited about is personal development books and courses, and spiritual books and courses. I may write a book myself at some stage.

My songs are uplifting songs with a positive message that would appeal to people who are interested in personal development and spirituality. So there is a link between my music and the products I'd like to promote.

Would it be best to have 2 separate websites, keeping the music spearate, or have it all in one place?

Hey Andrew, It is my opinion that anything can be a good niche. Even if it is a popular one the fact is that you will bring your own spin to it making it unique. Since you have experience in this area, I think it would be worth your while to dedicate one of your websites to it.

Of course, you will get additional advice on this situation from others in the community then you can make a good decision.

There will be competition in ANY niche, and that's a good thing. It means people are making money! You'll have to work to establish yourself in the niche, but everyone has to work. I wouldn't worry too much about competition at this point.

Imagine if there was never any room for new businesses. People would have stopped opening coffee shops long ago!

If you focus on creating good content, the lazy people will drop off, and you will gain authority in time. Even if you aren't #1 right away, you can pretty easily establish yourself in the top 10 sites in the world on any niche if you stick around long enough and focus on growing your business.
Reply
I guess the first question that comes to mind is, would it be better to choose a more obscure niche that will rank higher in
Google because of less competition or choose something more popular that will get more traffic,
I'll keep going with the lessons and see if that is answered.

Ok, so, I'm thinking about my niche and I'm pretty sure I'm overthinking. I am a coach, have been coached, see the value in it so think this might be the area but think it's too broad and probably have to be more specific. I suppose the issue is also that in order to promote others then I would need to really know whether or not their products/services are above board and of value. So I'm getting caught up. Then I think my other interest is actually enlightenment/meditation etc. I have practised and continue to be on my journey. Again though, it's knowing to whom you are referring. Perhaps I am getting ahead of myself???? I am also an avid reader, love love love books. I love to write and love to teach or share what has helped me in terms of coaching and in relation to my journey of enlightenment. Overthinking? Overcomplicating? Yes!

Hi Martine, your thought process is very understandable. But one thing you need to realize is this: It is going to be your audience who will decide what content they enjoy the most.

When starting out, it's great to have some kind of content plan. But once you start receiving traffic and comments, that's when you'll see which of your content gets the most attention. Then you'll have to go deeper on those topics.

Very often, it won't be the articles that you personally thought were the best... I think in 9 out of 10 cases, I'm surprised which of my articles get read the most.

However, to reach that point you will have to write A LOT. A looooot of content has to be added to your blog.

So here's the best advice that I can give you:
- Take a topic where you see yourself writing every day for a full year. Don't take a topic where you cannot see yourself doing that.
- Pay close attention to which of your content gets the most traffic, comments, or social media shares. Then think about how you can expand on those topics.

Growing a blog is a process that you cannot plan from its inception. It's a dialogue with your audience and readerbase, you will grow together with them.

Hope this helps!

Thank You very much for the awesome website builder and the help w all of this to Kyle and Carson and The Community for making it less scary confusing and like I am actually for once not stuck on the same few spots that make me give up and say ... I will try again tomorrow... I am really excited to introduce the topic in a blog or two then to bring my company into it and yesterday studied up took notes feel like I am really learning about my niche to expertly tell a story about it. One thing I have personally noticed is that when you do pick a topic that you truly are interested in and find fascinating or that you really can help someone out w their problem or future as opposed to just any product that you are so so about it really does make it that much more exciting to want to write something compelling to possible really start a following or get ranked highly on Google. Within the week WA has truly given me the confidence to think Skies The Limit. That is Awesome for someone like me who is in between jobs kind of struggling financially at the moment and a week ago was going “crap now what” to just a very much more positive outlook... so Thankful...

Hey, Kyle! What do you think of a niche called "Crazy Cowboy Boots"? Really different boots with lots of color that stand out. I have been in the music business all my life and i want to try to attract stars (for one reason; they have money to spend) and for another reason; I have always LOVED cowboy boots! My hero and heroine was Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, for heavens' sake!

Hi - it's a great idea, I love cowboy boots! However, one thing to be aware of is that all the images on your site have to be copyright-free, you can't just copy and paste them from Google or other websites.

If you are thinking of promoting brand name boots, they will most likely be trademarked. This won't be a problem once you have joined relevant affiliate programs, as they will supply the images.

Just be mindful of the fact that initially, your images will just have to be generic boots, no fancy named brands.

Hi. If you use the Google Translator for Websites, you can change the language of the Website. The Training that is described in Text, is the same Training that is provided in the Video.

Hi! I want to choose my niche but I have so many things in my mind that I have to choose from. I am passionate about helping people about opening a platform for business people to market their business in my site. and on the hand I want to make with pay per click business, the list is endless. anyone help me to choose the right niche.

Hi! To narrow your Niche down, 1st determine what are you most passionate about. If it helps, write down a list to make it easier to focus. Make sure that it is something you love. The more passionate you are about the topic, the more that you will be able to find content to write about. Next, write down, different questions that you can break it down into, to answer.

Niche Example: How to make Candles
- How to make Container Candles
- How to make Pillar Candles
- How to make Votive Candles
- How to make a Candle with Paraffin Wax
- How to make a Candle with Soy Wax
- How to make a Candle with Palm Wax
- Different types of Candle Wicks
- Are Wood Wicks better?
- Why you should never color Candles with Crayons
- Is it safe to add Glitter into a Candle?
etc...

The more topics you can think of for your Niche's that you are considering, the easier it will be to write an article for. At the end, whichever Niche you can think of more topics for, would be a good place to start. You can always add another Website later, once your 1st Website has been built and has Traffic flowing in.

Hey everyone! I'd like to run my idea across you guys in terms of a niche because I'd like to get some feedback... so what I enjoy most and what I am passionate about is overcoming struggles such as domestic violence, drug addiction, homelessness... I'm passionate about it because I've been there and dealt with a lot i t. But do you think I just need to pick one or can I talk about all of it?

hey hi Carey & welcome to Wealthy Affiliate!

Good question and all questions are good ones here!

... best to choose one that you feel most interested & knowledgeable about in writing lots about the topic in-depth over an extended period to scale ..

@keishalina9 Thank you! I'm just a little torn on which way to go now because now I've started thinking about the niche of self-worth and self-love for women! I may just have to ponder on it over night

... it's all ok -- perhaps write down a list and then look at it again later ... sometimes, it's helpful to put it down on paper or in your tablet just so it's not cluttering up the ol' noggin too much!

... enjoy a fabulous WA journey! ...

and yes, there's lots to learn -- take it easy on yourself and it's step-by-step .... :)

They are all extremely important topics and impact so many. For the purposes of WA, narrowing your focus will be best. There is nothing saying that, as you learn you can't add a second site for another topic, but start with one. Good luck!

Hi keishalina. Each topic you announced hurts deeply in a different way yet all named are very common, I myself had to kick it from an abusive relationship all the way out of my province over into the Natal province. I advise you cover them all. Can't wait to view as I'll surely be 0art of your crowd.

Hi , everyone, I have some doubts about the starter membership as I don't seem to find anything specific enough about it.

- After the 7 days are over will I still be able to be a starter member if I don't upgrade to premium within the 7 days?
- If so, for how long and what specifically will I have access to and what will I not?

I currently don't have an international Visa/master credit card only a local one, I've already ordered one from the bank and it's being sent to me, so it's going to take a few days to be able to use it for this.

Had I known I only had 7 days of community access I wouldn't have joined just yet. People don't seem to specify this when they promote this website. All they say it's free to join. It's a bit disappointing to find out you have such a limited time of free access only after you've already joined. I don't find anything specific about this on this website.

So again, my doubts are:
- After the 7 days are over will I still be able to be a starter member if I don't upgrade to premium within the 7 days?
- If so, for how long and what specifically will I have access to and what will I not?

Thank you.

Angie

You can remain a starter member for as long as you like. But, you will normally lose your free site after 6 months. By the 6 months point, you should be ready to go premium or this isn't for you.

You will not have access to chat and many other awesome benefits until you go premium.

Take your time and try things out and become premium when you see that it is the best way to go.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply and the info. I'm going to see what I can do.

PS: I think I made it clear that it's a credit card issue (which should be solved under a month) and that It's not a "I don't have enough money" issue. I am fully aware of what this entails.

The $19 first month of premium goes away after your first 7 days, from my understanding.

I've read, in several places, that the starter account is for as long as you like ... but then, I've also read that it's also just for 6 months. Six months should be plenty of time to decide on premium or not,
Reply
Thanks, yes 6 months is more than enough to decide. Although the problem is not, not having enough time to decide. As I mentioned, It's a credit card issue.

I've read quite a few Promotional Sites for WA since joining. There are some who mention the 7 day period for Starters, while others avoid the topic. If you are sure you want to go Premium when your Card comes in the Mail, be sure to take full advantage of the 7 Days Trial just in case. Remember to ask questions if you need it!

There are quite a few things that I wish a Starter Member didn't lose out on.

If you PM Kyle, and let him know your situation, I think he will work with you and extend the 7 days until you can pay for premium. He is a good guy and will help you.

Thats a great Q Angie.

I already tried to reach Kyle via a post as a comment back to him. Like I'm doing here. But haven't heard from him since yesterday. And he posts other things not related to my topic on the same thread. Which I find weird. It doesn't seem like he reads them.
So I went for Carson to see if he answers back.
I think starter members should have access to a contact me message on this website, as normally we are the ones with the most doubts and we should be able to hear it from them. If you know what I mean.

Anyways I do appreciate you guys helping me out with this.

Hi everybody! So, I have a few ideas...I mean the sky's the limit here hey... But I feel more drawn to help people with personal development. As this is something I've been practicing and believe through my research already in progress I will benefit out of this as well, and not just $$$ wise.
My question though is that, this is also a very wide topic. Can one take this and make multiple websites for different areas of self development. To target the different audiences .....

I have chosen my niche within the health and fitness industry and there are three products within the industry that I will be promoting. 1. belly fat burning product to consume before bedtime. 2. A health cookbook. 3. Yoga as a means of exercise for adults of all ages.12 week video program.
Would it be possible to promote these three products simultaneously and how do you think it can be done ? Hope I have not bitten off more than I can chew but I thought it could work well as one niche.

Kyle Premium
I wouldn't decide on what you will be promoting until you have your content first. Your promotions will be based on your content and what is relevant based on the context of your content.

You will get there as you go through the training, the first focus with your website is to build out the foundation, the content and get rankings. Once you have rankings and traffic then you can focus on what you are going to promote.

There are 10,000's of affiliate programs and millions of products you are going to be able to promote as an affiliate, don't ever worry about there being nothing to promote within a given niche. There will likely be 100's if not 1,000's of things you can promote. ;)

There is no sense in putting to much thought into what you are going to promote until you have content in place and an audience to promote to. You will definitely get there though!

RE: your niche

What aspect of the health/fitness niche do you want to help
people with? There are literally 1,000's of niches within these categories and you will want to narrow it down.

Hiya Claudette

I recommend starting with just one focus and then branching out once that one area is successful.

If you could do all three and connect them all for belly fat burning/reduction that would work better. That means your niche would be belly fat reduction.

But promoting them as 1. Belly fat 2. A health cookbook and 3. Yoga would mean 3 niches.

Will be interesting to see what other members say, but that is my take.

Wishing you every success!

Blessings
Louise

great video. Does Wealthy Affiliate has a build-in WordPress system to build our sites? My reason for asking is because, in the past, I downloaded WordPress on my laptop to start practicing web creation.
Will this affect any action I would want to perform here with the Wealthy Affiliate WordPress builder system?

this is amazing. Kyle, you're a real teacher. The system caters to more than one learning style. Visual for the readers to read through, and auditory learners through the use of videos and audio. Amazing. Moving on to lesson 5. I claim my success here... I am excited.
Question.. Is there a feature in any of the memberships that provides "sales funnel" creation?
Reply
Aussiemuso Premium
Hi Lincoln, I'm new but I'm sure I saw somewhere that it isn't available here. You would have to look at what is on offer to add to your website.

One of the members was saying in his blog this morning, and he is very experienced that a funnel will only work once you have established credibility with helpful, informative content. Until then it is wasted money, although it seems faster.

If you are new to WA perhaps best to put you question in the question bar up the top and read posts from the community.

I looked at funnels before I came to WA and am now glad I'm taking a more stable route. They can be very expensive and as everyone is buying the same one as you, you will have many competitors.

Quality content will get you the traffic you desire. Give it time perhaps.
Hope this helps.

Lily 😊

Hi,
I initially selected a theme but I realized it does not suit the type of product I want sell online. For the business I would like to get involved is selling products but theme heiro or preloaded options seem not appropriate for such. How do I change or where do I get a relevant template?
Thanks

Hi - as a free starter member, you only have access to a few themes, and actually, it is better to start with something simple, so you don't get confused during the training. Remember, it will be a while before anybody sees your site, so it doesn't matter what it looks like at this stage.

If you want to change, log in to your Word Press, and go to Appearance, then themes. If you see any you like, click install, then activate.

Thank you Daine, I’m eager to build a relevant website with content and get going. The available themes don’t seem to match what I wanna sell, what should I do. I have gone through the tasks
Reply
DianeScorpio Premium
Hi - people will find your website by the content you add, not by how it looks. There isn't anything you can do as regards your theme unless you are prepared to upgrade to premium when you have a choice of over 7000!

Have you tried customising the theme? You can usually swap the words and photos that were on there to start with, just to make it more relevant. Go to Appearance, then Customize.

I'm going to be blunt as I am in the information gathering stage and deciding whether or not to purchase premium. If, for some reason at some stage one decides to leave AW I assume that you would not be able to continue with the website/s you have developed. Can someone advise? Also, can one cancel membership without penalty at any time?

Thanks, Martine :)
Reply
ariesight Premium
You can cancel at any time, but you can't get your money back if you stop. For example, if you pay for a year and you decide after 3 months that you want to stop, you can't get your money back. On the other hand, this works as a great commitment device to keep working since you've paid anyway.

If you go Premium and you decide you want to cancel, you can't go back to Starter, but you can move your sites elsewhere.

If your website is the free site-rubix one, it remains the property if WA. If you purchase any domains, they remain yours.
Reply
ariesight Premium
Well, even if you have a siterubix site, you can move the site to another domain if you want to leave. :)

I think you have 30 days to move it.

You can go monthly, or 6-month. I just mention the yearly, because it's the longest commitment you can make.
