OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a video walking you through the Website Platform (also knwn as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

DISCUSS VIDEO: Building Your Websites in 30 Seconds, LIterally

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host up to 2 FREE websites as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 25 free websites and the ability to create 25 sites on your own domains (total 50 websites). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you may own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.stierubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to 12, hand picked quality designs.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 2,464 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

The powerful hosting you have access you here is unparalleled in the Managed Wordpress hosting industry. We truly specialize here in providing a secure, robust and FAST platform for you to run your website.

We know that your website IS your business, and it is important that you have the most advanced technology to keep your business operating at 100% at all times of the day.

The following are just some of the powerful features included within the SiteRubix platform here at WA.

  • SiteManager (Starter & Premium)
  • SiteContent (Starter & Premium)
  • SiteBuilder (Starter & Premium)
  • SiteDomains (Starter & Premium)

To make your sites secure and fast, we have some SiteRubix EXCLUSIVE technologies to make sure your websites are operating at lightening speeds, but also in a very secure way that protects you from hackers, spammers, and all forms of erroneous attacks.

There you have it, the low down of the SiteRubix platform and you have your website officially up and running online. Exciting stuff!

As we move forward within the training we are going to be building out your website content, and working to get indexed and ranked in Google, Bing & Yahoo (and do so for free).

Is health and fitness a good niche to pick or is that niche crowded with lots of people to compete with? My main concern is being able to get my website to be recognized on page 1 of google in about a years time? Is that do able in health fitness?
Reply

What aspect of the health/fitness niche do you want to help people with? There are literally 1,000's of niches within these categories and you will want to narrow it down.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Damn dude that was actually really helpful. Well for starters I went ahead and purchased the domain name www.thewhitecollarathlete.com yesterday. And I was gonna base my brand off of strength training and body building. Potentially blogging about diet hacks, supplementation, cool gym wear, etc. Is this too broad? Do I need to add more? Is there anything that I'm missing?
Reply
Ricargon Premium
That's a great niche you have there Jarrett, it's probably one of the hottest niches out there right now. The fact that you're into that makes it an ideal niche for you.

In response to your comment about doing diet hacks, supplementation and so forth, stick to what Kyle mentioned earlier and focus on one specific thing you can offer your viewers.

I'm sure you can bring in other ideas into it, but start out with what it is that you can help them in right now, on whatever is more in demand then bring in your other ideas.

So you'll probably have to figure out what or where the priority needs to be focused on first then follow up with the other things ie. diet hacks, cool gym wear and so on.

You wouldn't want to sell cool gym gear or fitness equipment if the main demand is weight loss.

Take care of the demand or problem people have now. There are other ways and ideas to find out what your audience want and need. Through surveys and things like that on your blog, but focus on the main issue first.

I'm into fitness myself, I'd like to see what your blog looks like when you're done. Please hit me up and let me know once you're done with it.

Keep rockin' it!

I completely agree with Kyle. IS your niche weight loss? Perhaps diabetes. Lots of people looking for ways to help with that. Perhaps Healthful Eating. Find a sub-niche you REALLY like.

Is an idea like "Recommending a series of products that belong to different categories based on pre-defined criteria" could also be considered as a niche or should it be focused on a particular set of products? If the answer to this question is yes, is it possible to build a website based on this idea without any technical knowledge and just using the website building platform here?

sounds very wide to me need to narrow it down
try doing a plan - a list of
what you would write about in 10 content pages before you will see where you are going then and it will give you an idea if this niche is what you want to do

If they 're all made by the same company or brand than I would say go for it!

If they are not you could still do it but it would be harder to get ranked by the usual free traffic sources.

Well unless you already have a strong link Profile with a different website that you control and could link to the new site from.

Personally I would focus on a particular brand until I established some credibility and branch out from there but it could be done your way to.

It would just take some time and a few well written and we'll placed PPC ads to get traffic flowing.

Please help. I'm trying to create menu and it looks nothing like the training video. It walks you step by step but as I was following t h e video, what the menu format on the video looks different from on my appearance /menu screen. Like where I'm supposed to type "top navigation", on my screen it's other places to type "top navigation", apparently I typed "top navigation", in the wrong place or field and also I can't remember how to change my theme, I'd like to select a different theme.

OK -- I have an idea for a niche that might be kind of fun! My grandparents were Ukrainian and I grew up in Canada attending a Ukrainian Church, dancing, cooking, decorating easter eggs, etc. How about a niche around Ukrainian holidays or traditions? I could find a lot of content and topics to write about....and it would bring me back to my roots! Feedback welcome!

I like it, but how would you monetize it?

Thanks @onmyownterms! There are alot of traditional products and Ukrainian-themed products on Amazon and other sites. Easter eggs, decorative linens, clothing, etc.. Religious items as well for celebrating holidays,

Hello everyone, I really need some help here please.
I have been stuck on this niche business for about 3 days now, and I really need to move on, it's doing my head in.
So, I thought I had a niche and even started on the website for it, it was on Natural Dog Care.
After asking Kyle what he thought about it, I realised I rushed into it to quickly and like Kyle said it was too broad, so I scrapt it.
I have some other ideas, and asked Kyle about them, but you no how it is, he's a very busy man, plus I thought it would be better to ask the wider community and get multiple thoughts.
1. personal development or life coaching, helping people find financial and social freedom.
2. Software DJing or music production. Helping people learn or master music production and DJing using computer softwares.
3. Growing food from seeds all year round, indoors or outdoors in pots and containers. Helping people grow Veg, herbs, spices etc easily and officiantly.
Please do tell me if you think there all rubbish, I'm sure I can come up with more if needed.
Thank you
I really hope you can help, I just want to get on with the training and begin working on my first website.
I have asked Michael, A very good coach to me on WA, and he was very helpful, just wanted to here other peoples thoughts if that's ok.
Thanks in advance

Your passion should help what you choose. None of them are rubbish, It is deciding what you enjoy best out of the list and not going too broad with it and making a plan of what your content pages are going to be about.
Make a plan as you go through training you will see that you have to write a lot of content pages. This is what WA is all about. I haven't been here long but what I have learned is that I wish I had made a list first of about 10pages
Say you wrote about makeup there is
Eyeshadow,
Lipstick,
Foundation,
Blusher
mascara
and so much more
Hope this helped

Hi Nilesh,

WOW! You sir how many talents. This is great news.

I personally like to grow my own food.

I think helping others to grow their own food all year round is a great idea.

It is specific and answers an all year round question and it is evergreen, meaning, peope are continuously looking for it.

growyourownfood.com could be a great name as well.

The personal develpment and life coaching I'd stay clear of. I wanted to go into the Self Help niche as well, and Kyle said, that it was a trap niche. I believed him because I promoted products for it before and sold zero! Not good.

However, I am not saying you can't be successful in this either just because I was not.

Software DJing - I know nothing here.

Find out what questions are asking in Google regarding these topics and build a niche around the most common ones.

It can't be too narrow because you will run out of content.

Too broad and your site has no definition and will confuse people.

Financial Freedom is a good one and you can leverage ways to make money online by showing others how to do Affiliate Marketing. The advantage of this niche, I have come to learn, is people will find you REALLY looking for a way to make money online - this is high quality traffic and I have no doubt would convert well.

affiliateproneur.com could be available and you simply show all the ways people can make money online. You simply explain, SHOW people how they too can do this from home.

I hope this helps a little.

I agree with Dunvant saying that you must do something that you more passionate about out of the three. Another way to choose to to check the market and want people want ,but make sure its something you would love to do and not just do it cause it is in demand. If i were you I would go for either number 1 or 2 , but its up to you . If you do music software and learning try to do it maybe on a widely used brand to narrow it down so you do not have ten different software's to work with and teach different things for each one. Regarding the life coaching maybe do one specific aspect, like just finance , then create another website on social and then just link the two and reference them if that makes sense
I hope this helps you :)

Hi Nile,

I saw that your first choice for a niche was " Natural Dog Care" why did you choose that niche to begin with?

Is it a passion of yours or is it something that you thought would be easy to write and talk about? What is your reason for the other niches that you posted?

For me, it did seem a bit complicated at first. Remember, the videos are giving you ideas, not suggestions on what examples to choose from and just dive into hoping that you'll find something to write about.

These niches have to start from the bottom and grow in time as you add more content to your blog. Anything can be a niche, but if there is something on the list that WA has that can trigger your mind then the list has done its job. What do you do already that you can offer those who come to you?

I'll give you an example of a niche I was thinking about doing. It is on locksmithing. That is a broad niche since there are all kinds of sub and micro niches that can come out of that one topic.

I used to be a locksmith back in 1985 and made lots of money doing it. Opening locked cars, businesses, mailboxes, residential door locks, I also took apart locks and rekeyed locks for home and businesses.

Since most of my friends know I'm a locksmith, I get asked lots of questions regarding locksmithing, but there was a common problem they all had with their locks. They didn't turn smoothly or it kept jamming on them. So I showed them how to lube their locks to keep them from getting sticky and solved their problem. I also told them when to notice for signs of a worn out key and when it would be a good time to throw away and destroy their keys when they got worn out at a certain point.

These are specific things that were common and always asked of me because who doesn't have a lock on their car, home, business. There are many ways to clean a lock without having a locksmith charge you a service fee just to go out and then lube your lock for $30 on top of the $30 plus service charge to go to your place.

Now don't get any ideas and start up a niche like this unless you know what you're doing and talking about. This is just my example of what I was passionate about then and how it can be a nice little micro niche for me now.

The point of the niche is to get it started by letting people know why you are passionate about what you're informing them on and help them solve a problem. Once you help them enough that they can see that you know what you're talking about they'll listen to you when you start referring them to affiliates that you recommend because you have already helped them enough with your free information from your niche blog.

Can you see where I'm going with this now? That list of niches you wrote about can work, if you know what you're talking about and passionate about. I know some people may say you don't have to know a lot about it, but if you're going to learn about a certain topic you know nothing of, for example, locksmithing and think it's a cool thing to learn. Then as you start learning this trade you will write about what you learned and help inform others about how they too can benefit from what you have learned.

I would write down on paper what you're passionate about and write in detail why you love, like, hate, dislike, get pleasure from, are asked most about, get advice from, know how to do with ease, just brainstorm and you'll see how things will start to come together.

If it gets too complicated, let it go and leave Wealthy Affiliate for a couple of hours then come back when you've cleared your mind. Trying to do everything in a day, a week, a month and expect to have major results with that little time is only going to cause you to discourage yourself.

You wanted to hear someone's opinion, well here's mine. It doesn't have to be complicated. Take it one step at a time and work it until you know it is something you want to share with others, then the writing will flow.

I hope this serves you and others out there who are struggling with this and brings some clarity on how to approach the topic of niches. This isn't a "how to" post either. It's just what I have picked up since I've been here in WA and it is amazing what they have here for us. Don't worry about not getting it. You will.

Best to you and hope your mind clears enough to be able to see what you're truly passionate about.

Be safe and God bless,

Rick

Thank you, I have decided, although I am interested in personal development and stuff, I don't no enough about it, and wouldn't be very confident writing about it.
If I was going to do music production and DJing, I would probably pick 1 or 2 software to write tips and tutorials for.
After listening to peoples advice and thinking a bit more, I came to the conclusion that Growing your own food would be the thing I'm most comfortable with, and would probably enjoy the most, please could you tell me why only 1 and 2 are ok to pick from? do you think 3 is too braud, or is it the compitition?

This was very helpful and given me a lot to think about, Thank you for getting me to ask myself what problem people come to me with, that was very helpful.
The natural dog care thing was something I rusht into, have a slight interest in it, but not really passionate enough to do it properly.
After reading everyone alses very helpful replies, I was going to go into growing your own food all year round, I still think that could work, I am passionate about it, and have a lot to say on the subject, however, after reading your reply, it got me thinking, I'm sure theres other things people come to me for help with.
I think i'm going to do what you said, take a break for a bit, clear my head and come back to it when i'm not freaking out.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Nile

Be prepared to get a load of information flowing through your mind once you have slowed down and focused on what you know.

You're going to have tons of ideas so get your paper ready to start jotting them down. If you get too excited just leave it and come back to it. We have to train our mind to give us information when we ask for it.

So when you're relaxed and ready to go to work just allow your mind to give you the information you need by going over the ideas you've written down and go to town with it.

I'm working on my project too and believe me, it sounds easy when you type it and explain it to someone like I'm doing now, but doing it is a whole different story.

Don't get frustrated because it will happen a lot if you don't prepare yourself. It's when we just think we can log on WA and follow the videos and expect all the answers to our problems to be given to us in a few lessons.

We have to do our part and practice and put to the test things we've learned here in WA, listen to other's who are successful, read books on things that will help us learn good habits and get rid of the ones that hold us back from moving forward.

This community is filled with people like that are willing to help. I'm sure you'll get over this little hump. Once you've slowed down your mind it will be ready for ya.

Glad to hear you're not freaking out anymore, LoL!

Talk to you soon

Hi Kitonei,

If Wealthy Affiliate has given members a free account with enough tools to get one started, the rest has to come from you Kitonei.

Wealthy Affiliate is a business that has invested millions of dollars to bring the type of technology in one platform in order for the members to succeed in their journey to online success.

The monthly fee doesn't come close to other online marketing programs that charge separately for most of the features that WA gives for one low monthly fee.

I understand that $49 dollars a month can be too much for some people, but if you can't afford the monthly fee you are still given the opportunity to learn as much as you can from the members here in WA as long as you apply yourself and set goals to get yourself to a premium member.

There is no other system that I know of that compares to WA when it comes to offering so much on one platform at such an affordable price.

If you don't have the money for the monthly fee, WA allows you to keep your account free of charge. It may be limited, but you have the tools to make money if you apply yourself.

It took me 20 years to finally come to a system that offered what WA is practically giving away. I don't think you have any idea what it would cost the members if WA decided to charge for the WP themes, the Site Content Editor, the countless training videos that take you by the hand to move forward on any project, they truly are putting out more than they take in.

They are in it for the long haul, they are leading by example. These guys have been online for over 10 years and have grown into a community of entrepreneurs that bring in probably 10 times the wealth of information and expertise than the years they've been in business.

They invest millions to make peanuts, but their goal is to be in it for years to come in order to see others succeed the way they've succeeded.

Can you make money in WA? The answer is yes. You can make money if you apply yourself and get creative in your plan to success.

Wishing you the best and hope you find it in yourself to not think that you don't have what it takes because there are people that have less than you make it happen for them.

Be safe and God bless,

Rick

Any of those you mentioned could be a good niche. I like several of them. The one you are most passionate about is probably the best choice. I am drawn to sustainable agricultural products. I am also drawn to educational/classroom supplies. I think that is a really good one that does not have a lot of competition. Of course, you may want to research that. I haven't checked it, but I personally don't think there are many sites devoted specifically to that. ( I could be wrong.) I have been a teacher, and often, we teachers end up buying some of our own supplies. Would be good to have a spot where those related items could be found in one place. Could also blog about those products or general teacher stuff. I even thought about something sort of like that with a different twist, but my niche is something quite different from this at this time. I will be curious to know which direction you go. Any of those could good be great niches.

While I worked in the pet industry I had many customers ask me certain things of recommendation to buy to groom their own pets at home because it is becoming an expensive appt per customer. The big companies are constantly increasing prices and customers are no longer able to afford to use a pet groomer and would rather do it themselves.

With the new laws from the European Union they will not be up to date. The new laws go into effect on May 25. There are some articles about this. Wordpress has a new update that addresses most of these issues.

Hi everyone.
I have chosen a Niche and was wondering what you all thought, it's the natural dog care niche.
I went ahead with the training and got the free domain name for it so i hope its ok since I can't change it.
I have a bunch of other ideas I will try later just sort of picked this one at random to learn how to do it.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Jamar,
Just find the one thing that you are interested in and pursue it. I am sure the future videos will guide you as to how to get that done. I too am new to this and I am also very excited to get started. The possibilities are endless.

Hello everybody, I am beyond excited just thinking about all the possibilities withing Affiliate Marketing. I personal have a few interest ideas of the bat and I just wanted some help narrowing that down.Ok, (1) I worked for Nike for 5 years and have some pretty good contacts that could use for information building and/or even video content. (2) I Coach High School basketball and currently I am the teams strength and conditioning coach. Without realizing it I was doing Affiliate Marketing without fully understanding. I would refer products to my players and they would purchase them. (3) The thing I am becoming most passionate about is traveling to different places.

Can anyone suggest which avenue I should start with?
Reply
newmarketpro Premium
My opinion.

Choose one of the three you have listed down that you are most passionate about. I can see Basketball Coaching Program is something you do regularly and you have identified your audiences. Once you have determined your niche, it's time to create content around the niche which is targeting your audiences.

The other two niches should wait until the first site is established and you start getting traffics (visitors) to your site.

Choosing on one niche would give you more focus to work on.

Which one do you think you are going to pick first?

All the best to you..

:)

I agree with Joe.
You say you are becoming passionate about traveling, that would be a good one as well.

If you are passionate about your niche, or if you are very interested in learning about your niche, it will make it easier to write content without getting bored or running out of ideas.

I think I am going to go with Basketball Strength and Conditioning or is that to broad of a niche?
Reply

You may want to narrow it down to really target specific audience.
Who are your target audience? Beginners? College students? People targeting to become pro players? This is more focused than targeting everybody.

You are getting there...

Thank you. I was trying to dial in and be more specific in regards to an actual product related to what I do with basketball. Right now all of my players buy protein and use it consistently. After using Google Trends I see that it obviously has high traffic.

How could or should I market Whey Protein for Basketball players or athletes in general. How would recommend going down that avenue?

You said it has high traffic. What did you search in Jaaxy?
What was the QSR?
There are a couple avenues you could take when it comes to athletes and protein

I believe when people suggest you to buy domain from other registrar and not from WA is one way to work around your problem that your country is not listed in WA. So you may proceed to buy a domain from other registrar and host it here.

Here's how to do it.

Hi Sheila, once you have chosen a niche (a subject area you are interested in or you do as a hobby) and set up your niche website, you will have to write quite a few posts or articles on your niche topic. For that, you can find ideas on Google or in Jaaxy as well when you are looking for keywords. However, keywords will be covered more in detail in one of the following sessions, so don't worry too much about it at the moment.
So your website will be the place that will have all the posts/articles you write, it will be sort of a blogging site.
Reply
RobertDoyle Premium
I agree with Sammy-B. The lessons will tell you what to do as you progress, so don't worry too much about it. Be familiar with your niche. Make sure your niche is something you can write a lot about from experience or something a lot of info. can be researched about. Just write passionately like a real person so people can relate. Write frequently and consistently. Later you can add a store to your site and offer products of your own and/or as an affiliate marketer. Follow the lessons and complete each task, checking the boxes at the bottom of each as you progress.

To complement what others have mentioned below, I would like to suggest to follow through the training which is designed to show us how to set up our business (website) step by step. To summarize the basic set up -
- choose your niche (your passion)
- set up you wordpress website
- write content to fill up the website (i.e. blog post, reviews, landing pages, etc) based on the chosen niche
- getting traffic (visitors) to your business (website)
- make money through site monetisation (i.e. ads, affiliate products etc).

Hope that helps a bit.

I have a silly question, but it's late and I'm tired. I completed both tasks under Lesson 8 on Level 1. I wanted to go back and review Task No. 2 to check my understanding, but when I click on that lesson (No. 8) it takes me to that lesson, but only to Task 1. My questiion is, how do I advance to Task 2 under Lesson 8 just to do a review?

I've searched like crazy and can't find how to review a Task order of sequence. All I can do is advance to the next Lesson.

Thanks for any help.

When I scroll to the end of lesson 8 in the certification course it says task 2 is to create a custom menu on your website.

Yes, that is correct. But how do I review Task 2? I can only seem to navigate to Task 1 in Lesson 8.

Any suggestions will be appreicated. Thank you for responding.

Hi Martinez,

There never is a silly question especially when your intentions are to figure out what you overlooked or missed. Remember, there may be another member thinking the same question, but not as bold as you to step up and ask it.

Others may then look at this and get over their fear of asking "silly questions" as you say.

This platform is about "everything" learning. From overcoming your fears, setting goals, breaking bad habits, learning to communicate.

All these things play a big role when you're trying to build a business online. It's not just building a website and putting pictures and words together, it's a business that you will become an authority of.

So ask away all the "silly questions" you have and get answers for them to move you forward.

To your success

If you do your site on the organic stuff you can still provide a link to those that might be interested via email. That would still get your referral. It might also be possible to put a little blurb in your about me page on your site about why you are passionate about the organics and how you came across this great site that taught you how to set up your website.

Question: Finding it hard to choose a niche I'm highly interested in technology and the latest gadgets and will doing to a lot of research into it to and upload information/details about the latest tech/gadgets gain traffic to my site (once setup).

Not sure how to choose a niche around tech.

Thanks in advance.

I would recommend that you narrow it down a bit, what aspect of "gadgets" do you want to help people out with? What type of gadgets?

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

You can add a plug-in to display header and footer.

To do a drop down menu just make a regular menu and slide items you want under it slightly to the right. Not all themes support drop down menus.

Some themes don't have a sidebar available. You would have to look at theme details.

Hi everyone. This question may be a little premature as we are still going through the training process and have not as yet created any content for our website but here it is:
Is it best to limit keywords to one per article/post or is it okay, or even preferable, to have more than one keyword provided they are all relevant to the article/post?
We seem to remember reading previously that Google does not like multiple key words.
We would appreciate any comments on this. Many thanks.

One keyword per article - have the keyword as your title, then in the first paragraph and then write naturally from there, and you're good to go.

Earlier this week there was a popup here with the text for a new "Privacy Policy". There were no instructions?

Is this "New Privacy Policy" required? Everywhere WA is used in it, are we to replace that with our URL Title, of with the URL? There must be some instructions somewhere that go with the "New Privacy Policy?"

Or can we continue to use the old one given in Kyle's training, "Creating Your Initial Website Content" dated May 2, 2018?

I posted this question 3 hours ago---no answer?

You're not supposed to do anything with that Privacy Policy. That is Wealthy Affiliate's own privacy policy and it wasn't made for anyone to adapt.

I think WordPress releases a Privacy policy tomorrow that you can use on your sites. .This should replace the old one that we all use from here and has stuff in it that addresses the GDPR thing.

What about checking into companies who make artificial limbs?
You can check in google and Jaaxy to see if there are affiliates for that type of company.

Then you could promote their products, do reviews and write about your own experiences.

The lessons are very easy to follow with videos included.
I was able to do it, and that is really saying something : )

As for instagram, I am not sure. I know that on social media, most of them don't want you to just share a link.

But later in your training Kyle goes over social media, as well as plugins that you can add to your website that will make sharing to them very easy. He will also show you how to share.

As Adreyna said above, about choosing niche, there are two ways. One is following your passion, and doing task as lesson 3 of course 1 or you choose to "promote this platform" as you said, it means you will use our WA family as a niche, you better go directly to the affiliate bootcamp training, and skip the basic training. At affiliate bootcamp training, you will learn deeper how to promote our WA to other people outside WA.

You better give a certain amount of time to think which one you like to do: follow your own passion and your own hobbies-> make money from your passions, hobbies or you choose our WA as a niche. Don't worry too much about choosing the 'perfect niche" at first time try (believe me since in the past, I gave like a week to consider about "perfect niche" and it doesn't exist. Every niches are good) and our WA platform is always available for you to promote as long as you are our WA family members, and follow the affiliate bootcamp trainings.

Good luck to you and welcome to our WA again!

Hi tundays55 it really is a great community of people, so glad you feel at home already. Yes, promote this platform, you won't go wrong doing that.
About your niche, just take one baby step at a time on this website, you work at your own pace which makes the learning even more enjoyable. During the process of the course, you're going to learn more about niches, how and where to promote, and how to find the best offers, but you'll want to walk through the process in order to see the whole picture.
You're also going to earn a certification in which you can find a job, help others, earn income or use your gifts and talents to earn income via building your sites.
The first thing to keep in mind is following the lessons so if you should find yourself stuck, find the Green Button with the Arrow on it and "Training." That will take you to the lesson you were working on.

Looking forward to seeing you around the site,
Enjoy,
RitaAnn~

I believe all these display can be controlled and managed from the customization of the theme. While logged in your wordpress site, Go to customization at the top page of your editor and see if the theme has that option i.e. homepage, reading setting (should be set to Blog page so you won't see the 'About me', etc.

Hey all, would it make more sense to make the "About me" as a "Page" versus a "Post"? The reason I point this out is because as your website matures and more content is added, the "About Me" will work its way to the bottom and possibly so far back that it will be eventually ignore. Having it as a "Post" will allwo access to your "About me" no matter how old the website is. What do all of you think?
Reply
Kyle Premium
A post and a page are the same thing, the only difference is that a post snippet is added to your blog roll after you create it.

Pages typically go to your menu by default, but you can override that with custom menus (which can include pages and posts).

I typically create my initial framework of my website (first 5-10) as pages, then after that I create only posts. Posts are beneficial for rankings because they do go to your blog roll which makes your website look current to Google (good for SEO) as well as your audience.

Hope this helps.

MatthewNieto Premium
Oh ok, So it doesn't initially have to be a post. I had in mind making the "About me" as a menu choice on the top of the page next to "home" or "products" etc. That way no matter when they visit my website, my "About me" will be on the top menu page which can be accessed at anytime. I hope I'm making sense lol

Matthew, on my first website I did it as a page. Then, as it was about both my site and me, I made it a static page in the Appearance Home Page settings. Then I did a page for posts and did a blog roll on that. Look at my http://fantasy-sci-fi-vision.com website to see how this works.

Ignore memu. Hiero updated and screwed my menu up. It used to be neat and tidy! Chin wags and posts is the blog roll.
