OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also known as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host your own FREE website as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domain). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can easily move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.stierubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

I am interested in creating a niche in car audio specifically pioneer car stereos which I am very familiar with. I have written reviews on these on Amazon before. I also want to market car LEDs headlight bulbs. I am quite familiar with a few of them and have also written reviews about them. So in a nutshell, these are the two areas where I would love to start. I have other ideas but these will suffice. For now.

I agree. Having been in the home improvement field in management with both Lowes and Home Depot, I am constantly offering assistance to friends and neighbors. You have chosen a good path that could lead to an even greater one. Keep in mind that there is plenty of competition out there. Try to design your website and posts to specific keywords that will draw in your audience. Peace, Mark.

I've been a stepmom for over 25 years. Its seen its ups and downs with children and an ex wife. I would definitely have to create the site under a different name. But I'm wondering what your opinion is about this being my niche. I did keyword searches and there aren't a ton of them but the ones that are there have good averages and QSR.

Hi Janice,
Lets talk it through!!
It is a niche but my issue is in what way are you offering to help these women specifically? is it to help them out through your experience then start offering them certain products to buy...

Your wise forward looking approach not too many keywords in this area which is another hurdle...for your oodles of content required...for the long term

Are you hoping to monetize ( forgive me this is a business eventually hopefully) by perhaps having training programs ot motivational videos they can buy to help them just some ideas...

If you have the monetize part sorted then comes the numbers bit...do you have the potential numbers have you done any research on that...

Finally given all the niches what is the opportunity cost of heading down this road rather than more commercial avenues such as women's beauty products etc or another interest of yours you hold dear and can write copious amounts of content on...

Food for thought perhaps...;

Definitely thinking that first idea to begin with. Blogging and offering products through affiliates. Maybe later could be allowing others to submit articles based on questions rec'd. How they handled certain issues. Keeping myself anonymous is terribly important to me though...I don't want WW3

Lols...I wouldn't want you to get into one.; Neither am I attempting to deter you!! if you have thought it through than by all means... and by allowing others to do the heavy lifting at a later stage is certainly the way to go!!

Your obviously a lady who has covered her bases so I see a plan, I see direction and I also see purpose so you have me on side..lol

Whoa, one second here. Are your interests in fostering children? Or, are you interested in offering advice to other stepmoms? I suppose you may need to hone in on what your goals are to help those mothers and fathers. Keep your keywords very specific toward the end in sight. Do your research diligently and you will find the answers you quest for. Peace, Mark.

I think if you choose to promote products based on health like weight loss, diet plan etc, you can earn alot.

Although I am a step child myself, I'm thinking more about my volatile experiences with being a stepmom and helping other stepmoms.

I´m thinking about gardening/growing your own vegetables and stuff like that as my niche cause it´s a big interest of mine but the thing is i don´t know many garden-specific terms, names of plants etc in english.(i´m swedish), would that be a big problem or maybe i just need a good dictionary? I could always make content in swedish but it´s a small country. Also, would history work as a niche? It´s another big interest for me and i guess there must be a lot of books and e-books to promote.

I think you'll do fine. As you start finding products in your niche, you will pick up the jargon and ideas that are specific to the geographical area your targeting in your niche. I think it is more important that you choose a niche you love, or are at least interested in. I think you're on the right track! Keep up the good work, engage in the training offered by WA, follow the plan, and work toward meeting your goals. You'll go far! Let me know if I can help you in any way.

I think you should go for your passion, and gardening is a great niche idea. You can always research the words in English, right? I'm sure all of us non-native English speakers need to use a dictionary for writing content. I certainly do, because there are always some word I don't know.

When it comes to history niche, I would narrow it down a bit. History is a very broad niche.

Yes i was thinking about narrowing it down to WW2 or maybe a specific front or something. Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

May I suggest that you refer to Wikipedia for translations. By the way, how are the meatballs up there. Just joking around. I love swedish meatballs. Peace, Mark.

Hi - the commission on books is very low, especially if you intend using Amazon. Gardening is a great niche, and I am sure you will have no problem finding the correct words to use.

Hey, i have a question. Can a person be an affiliate with different affiliate websites and have one website to sell everything from all affiliate networks/sites?

I have an account with Wealthy Affiliates and still learning, can i also be an affiliate to other affiliate sites and sell all products from all these networks into 1 website only?

Also i need to thick the second box it says "build your affiliate website in your respective nich (chosen from last lesson)", what does that mean? I'm kinda lost.

yes you can be apart of different affiliate websites. I know I am as long as you have the links and right tools to put them on your site than yes you can sell everything on your site. The tools can be anything from banners, headers, videos that all link to your affiliate link. I am not sure of the last question. Hope the rest helps.
