OK, awesome. You now have your niche, in other words, the direction for your brand & business. That is great and don't worry about this not being "perfectly clear" at this point, as you move forward the pieces of the puzzle are going to come together.

Starting with a big piece today, your website. We are going to be taking our niche idea and turning it into a tangible business starting with your website.

Building a Website Ain't Scary, It's FUN!

Building a website sounds like a "scary" process, but fortunately you have access to the most advanced, yet simplistic website platform in the world here at Wealthy Affiliate. We pride ourselves as a technology company here at Wealthy Affiliate and we are the industry leaders in the website development space.

I am not going to toot our horn any longer, I would rather you experience the website builder and platform for itself. The first step today is going to be building your website, which will literally take you less than 30 seconds.

Click the SiteBuilder link

within the menu, and you are going to be ready to rock here (and complete the next task).

Below I have included a "Building Your Website in Under 30 Seconds" video walking you through the Website Platform (also known as SiteRubix) here at WA and showing you how quickly and efficiently you can build a website here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Task 1: Build Your Website

Your website is your foundation of your business. It is where all of your traffic is ultimately going to come to, where you are going to build brand and trust within the industry, and where you can promote products/services and generate $$$!

The SiteBuilder platform here at WA is the most simplistic, yet advanced in the industry. It is going to take less than 30 seconds to get a fully operational, profit ready Wordpress website up and running online.

There are 4 steps in the website build process, that I am going to walk you through here. To access the SiteBuilder and EVERYTHING related to your website, you will simply click the light blue "SiteRubix" button in the main menu.

Step 1: Choose the Kind of Website

There are really TWO options here, on a FREE website or on your OWN domain. Ideally, you will have your own domain, but that can come with time.

You can "register" your very own domains right within Wealthy Affiliate using our state of the art SiteDomains platform, which will allow you to instantly set-up your own domain for your own use.

If you are just starting out as a Starter member, you will be building a website on the .siterubix.com domain, which is a completely free website. You can build and host your own FREE website as a Starter.

As a Premium member, you can build and host up to 10 websites (including websites on your own domain). That is more than adequate to drive many multi-million dollar businesses over time and our hosting platform is industry leading in terms of speed, security, and reliability...all critical factors to running a successful online business.

For the sake of this training, we are going to be choosing "On a free domain".

Do know that within the Premium membership, you can easily MOVE a free .siterubix.com button to a registered domain (one you own) using the "Premium Only" MOVE feature. So by all means start off with a free website and then down the road you can easily move it to your own domain.

Step 2: Choose a Domain

Remember last lesson when I chose my "niche". In this step, I am going to be choosing a name for my website and placing it in the "domain name" field. This is because this will be my website URL and my brand moving forward.

As you can see below, I have added my brand "how to lose belly fat today" into the domain field.

When you type in your domain, it will let you know if it is available or not. In my case it was, but if your first choice is not available simply do another search until you find a domain name that works for you.

You cannot put spaces in your domain name, hence why my domain is "howtolosebellyfattoday".

Step 3: Choose a Website Name

The name of your website should match your domain, but it just needs to be grammatically correct (with proper spacing). You can see below my example of this:

Domain: basketballskillsanddrills.stierubix.com

Title: Basketball Skills and Drills

It is as simple as that. Don't overthink this step, your title will be the same as your domain.

Step 4: Choose a Design

The last step is choosing a "look" for your theme. As a Starter member you will have access to ONE theme that has been hand picked for quality, speed, security, and overall theme design.

As a Premium Member though you will have access to over 4,134 designs (as shown below) or your website and there are always new designs being added to this daily. These are referred to as "Themes".

Choose a design that you like.

Click on the design you like, and then you will be able to build your site.

SiteRubix, a Next Level Website and Hosting Platform.

You are going to notice that there are many other website features allocated within the SiteRubix menu. I don't want to eat up too much of your time here, but it is important that you understand the incredible benefits of the SiteRubix platform.

Hi everyone, need help again!

Ive added a policy page and posted about me as a post. When I view my website I can't see my policy page and the about me section does not look how I have written it but if I view it on the WA site content page it seems fine.

How do I edit my posts, do I do it on Wordpress or on WA site content?

Can you share the link to your website? I don't know if it's possible to find it on your profile or not :)

I have used Wordpress a lot in the past, but have only just created my site through WA. I would assume that you have more control from within Wordpress itself.

For me, the word "Niche" is indeed both scary and exciting at the same time.

However, the statement below puts me more at ease. Especially the last sentence.

"When choosing a niche that fits you, you should be choosing something that is ideally an interest, a passion, a hobby, but it could be something that you would like to learn about. You don't need to BE an expert, you BECOME an expert."

I can completely relate to that when I started. I had no idea how any of this worked. I was severely overwhelmed.

The way Kyle teaches us through these lessons makes it all more understandable and down to earth.

I'm glad you were put at ease with choosing a niche. You really don't have to be a pro to teach. Teach what you learn as you learn.

All the best,
Brandon

Mabuhay! I'm here again to ask questions, please help me out since i'm only starting out. Thank you, you are awesome in advance!

I would like to ask if building a blog type featuring my past travel experience a good niche? is it feasable? can I make this possible? I want to earn while making an impact. And I also really like to get a premium account here in wealthy affiliate because I read that it opens a lot of doors and advantages but sadly in my current situation I don't have capacity to purchase it and in my country the amount is 50 times higher :( Hoping for your generous reply everyone.

Hi - travel is a good niche, but you need to narrow it down to target a specific audience. So, for example, you could have travel for seniors, or educational trips or concentrate on a particular region.

You can stay as a starter member for as long as you want and work on your free website for up to 6 months.

Using past experiences and knowledge is the best way to go about choosing and writing about a niche.

Tell stories, share pictures, and get involved with travel Affiliate programs to promote.

Best of luck!
Brandon.

And don't worry about not going premium right away. Do the best you can and work hard at putting content on your website to bring in traffic and begin making sales.

Once you start making sales you can go premium and expand with all the more tools to utilize!

Thank you so much! This helps me ease my mind. Will work hard for this, keep safe. :)

Thanks Miss Diane, Will work hard on this. Can you say any advices for start ups like me? I'm sure there's a lot of people want to hear it also. Have a great day!

I have been reading your responses to @ckalfanta. I had the same concern about upgrading to premium. I appreciate your response. Another concern is, do you pay every month or it's a yearly fee?

Hi Lorene, thank you for asking. For the first year I was here I paid monthly. Once I started picking up momentum with a website I started taking seriously I realized yearly is the cheapest way to go, for me personally though.

Because I plan on being here for a long time as Wealthy Affiliate offers a very goos program that can be a very valuable financial asset in the long run.

Thanks again for reaching out, best of luck.

i am stuck. i feel like i have made a bad decission in choosing my domain name or in my first post. my domain name is transforming decor but my first post i am writing is about purchasing chandeliers. i am confused about how to look for my key words or do you think i have picked the wrong topic for my post. help!

Hi Invy,

Did you use Jaaxy to get some help with your keywords?
You click Research in the left side menu and you simply enter your word.
Try everything related to chandeliers or change the order of the words. It will give you the AVG and QSR so that you know if people search for that on the internet and if you have a lot of competing websites.

I am still quite new at WA but I hope my reply is going to be somehow useful to you.

Dont worry too much about having perfect posts on your website to begin with. You can edit and improve them ad you go. When you're starting out it's okay to have posts that don't entirely grasp the idea you're trying to send.

Get used to writing in blog form first and how website content works. Eventually you'll adjust everything on your website to work smoothly together.

In my opinion, chandeliers and transforming decor go hand in hand? No? None the less, use Jaaxy to target keywords by searching what you think someone would type into google bing or Yahoo's search bar. Look for low competition and high search ratings.

You'll get better as you go. You'll get to a point where you are comfortable editing your website and the posts you made when you began.

Hope this is helpful,
Brandon

Mabuhay! I'm Cy from the Pearl of the Orient Seas, Philippines!

I would like to ask your advice on my chosen niches, I'm thingking about Travel stuffs since i'm interested and that's one of my hobbies I want get knowledgeable enough. Can you spare a minute on me and tell me what can I do to make this niche possible?

Hi .. The travel niche is huge and can be highly successful :)

You will want to narrow that down some though. You could focus on one specific area to travel to, such as the Philippines, or you could focus on a particular age group such as 'travel tips for couples over 50' or 'families with children' etc.

Once you narrow it down some, you will want to do some niche research. Here are some links that will help you: Good luck, Shannon
