Here It Is!
In the middle of the certification training, they go over comments (including the SiteComments platform which makes it extremely simple to obtain them), but they don't really tell you the FULL truth.
Yes, Google loves comments and engagement on your site, but comments aren't only good for your SEO rankings.
The truth they don't tell you may actually be something you aren't benefitting from.
I stumbled across this while looking through my stats on Search Console and Analytics. I was checking both of my websites for where traffic was coming from (one relies almost entirely on Google and the other is more through social media).
I was surprised, when I saw the referral section, to find that a website that I couldn't have possibly have placed an ad or link on was sending traffic to my site!
You see, when you comment on another person's website, one of the information boxes you are asked to fill out is your web address.
The reason that it never showed up before, for me, is that through SiteComments (which is still a wonderful platform or give-and-take and pay-it-forward) does not ask you for your website address.
I have lately been using the comment thread, posted by Kyle:

On this thread, you actually post to the person's website, not through a WA platform, and it gives you the option of entering your website information.
That is where my referral traffic was coming from.
If someone clicks on your name or photo, it brings them to your site!
