When we are a complete new person (newbie) to creating a website we don't always understand things completely.

We may not always ask questions in fear of sounding stupid. I know this is how I was a first, but I did it anyway. I knew I wouldn't learn properly if I didn't ask.

I would get mixed up on leaving comments or leaving feedback. I had a couple members try and explain the difference.

But, since I had never done anything like this before, I didn't totally understand (I am a bit slow with learning new things).

Yes. I was a newbie leaving feedback when I was supposed to comment and visa versa. Since I have been here a few moths I now know the difference.

Now, I am asking for comments on my site (post) and I am receiving feedback. This is what prompted me to do this tutorial. I know what it was like for me when I first started, so I want to try and make it easier on you.

This is by means NOT to be ignorant nor to shame anyone. I have been there and I still get confused sometimes now that I am further into training.

Ok, so let's get to this. What exactly is a comment? According to merriam-webster dictionary,: comment is-a spoken or written statement that expresses an opinion about someone or something. : a written note that explains or discusses the meaning of something (such as a piece of writing).

Excellent post Lee Ann and I am glad to see that I have been more or less doing it "right" for the last 4 years!

That's awesome. I did it wrong when I first started. I did not realize it until members started pointing it out to me.
I know the difference now though and I hope this will help new comers to not make that mistake.
Thank you for taking the time to read and comment.

Thank you. So do I. We don't realize the damage we do by not knowing the difference until it is done to us.
Best wishes
