To start the process you need to go to your theme and do a bit of simple coding. The steps are illustrated below.

Follow these steps, shown on the image above;
  1. Go to your dashboard Appearance
  2. Go down to Editor
  3. To locate the code hold down your keyboard 'control' button and type 'f'
  4. In the search box type in main-navigation .sf menu (note the space before .sf) and hit enter to search. (Note I have made the assumption that 'sf' has nothing to do science fiction!)
    #main-navigation .sf-menu {
    background: #060608;
    text-align: center; (Type in the code here.)
    }

and then update the file

The centred menu is shown in the above image.

Helen, I have bookmarked it and hopefully will soon go through the training. Certainly something I am interested in for sure.

Sylvia, what theme do you use. I am going to try find this coding out for more themes so yours would be a great place to start.

Olive, thanks. It's funny how simple things can be when someone actually explains them. It's just trying to find it in writing and then understand it that's hard.

Yes but I want to access the coding but not on my website just in case I screw something up. I know it must be on the net but I haven't hit the right keyword yet.

Well done Helen, this is a technique that is often overlooked. Applying it to menu items is not something that most people know.
Yes, html does work in menus.

Thanks Craig. I think if I ever learn coding fully I will be about 150 years old (but by then we probably won't use codeing)!
