Hey everybody, we all know that emailing is nothing new, the good news is that it hasn’t gotten old either. After reading my article you will be surprised (maybe not) how many times people check their emails daily. This means this a terrific source for reaching customers. To manage your email you first most know how emails are used.

The key here is to keep in mind how often the Average person will view an email, how long does it take and why email is quickly deleted? What keeps a person interested in an email, how do you befriend a person through email. I hope this helps you in your answer for how to manage email.

How the Average Person Will View an Email

On average a person will view his/her email, according to figures collected by the screen lock app, the average user actually checks their phone around 110 times day.

During peak times this equates to once every six or seven seconds, with some users unlocking their devices up to 900 times over the course of Image401a day, which in reality is around 18 hours. Yes, these figures might seem like a lot.

A study by Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers found the average user checks their phone nearer to 150 times per day.

In its annual Internet Trends report, carried out in May this year, found that people check their phones, on average, 23 times a day for messaging, 22 times for voice calls and 18 times to get the time.

The information was collected by Android app Locket, which monitored how many times its 150,000 users checked their phone over in a day.Peak hours, users are most active, between 5pm and 8pm, over 75 per cent of people unlock their phones and actively use them.

Now that you have this information you can set times when you view and send emails. This will help in managing your time overall, When you can schedule email time, you will be better when you are focusing on other projects. Without wondering should I check my email?

What Keeps a Person Interested in an Email?

To keep your contacts engaged with your emails over time. Constant Contact of which I am a member gives us this advice.

Send More Relevant Content – To send information that directly relates to more contacts’ and unique interests, break up your list into smaller targeted lists.

Ask Contacts to Update Profiles – Encourage contacts to update their mailing list preferences.

Set and Deliver on Expectations

Clearly state (on your sign-up form and in your Welcome Email) how frequently contacts should expect to receive your emails. Ideal mailing frequency varies. Many businesses do well sending to a list no more than once every ten days.

Look for Hot Topics – Track what topics are popular by reviewing email reports to see which:

  • Linked articles have gotten the most clicks
  • Email subject lines resulted in the highest open rates
  • Ask for Feedback – To collect contacts’ suggestions for improving your emails:
  • Insert a link to a survey in all of your emails
  • Ask for feedback when you share the email on social media
  • Read the Email Several Times before Sending

Never press the send button on your mail, unless and until you have read through your mail at least thrice. Make sure that you haven’t missed out words and punctuations or carelessly used SMS lingo in your mail.

After trying strategies for engaging your contacts, review your email open and out-out rates to look for positive trends.
